You sound so excited about it, Lav - well, go ahead and enjoy!

I hope spring is just around the corner for you.

I'm not Mickstar, but shall I try?

An airliner was having engine trouble, and the pilot instructed the cabin crew to have the passengers take their seats and get prepared for an emergency landing.
A few minutes later, the pilot asked the flight attendants if everyone was buckled in and ready.
"All set back here, Captain," came the reply, "except the lawyers are still going around passing out business cards."

At the airport for a business trip, I settled down to wait for the boarding announcement at Gate 35. Then I heard the voice on the public address system saying, "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Delta Flight 570 will board from Gate 41."
So my family picked up our luggage and carried it over to Gate 41. Not ten minutes later the public address voice told us that Flight 570 would in fact be boarding from Gate 35.
So, again, we gathered our carry-on luggage and returned to the original gate. Just as we were settling down, the public address voice spoke again: "Thank you for participating in Delta's physical fitness program.

USAir recently introduced a special half fare for wives who accompanied their husbands on business trips. Expecting valuable testimonials, the PR department sent out letters to all the wives of businessmen who had used the special rates, asking how they enjoyed their trip.
Letters are still pouring in asking, "What trip?"

    Have a great day, all.
14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Morning Lav and DTD and ALL to come....

Lav...thanks for kicking us off this morning. I sympathize about the snow but this too shall pass. We're starting off at 32F and climbing to 46F today. Stay warm.

DTD...appreciate the humor this morning. Loved the 1/2 price wife sale. You have a great day as well.

Eye doc appointment this morning cross your fingers for me. Busy at work these days as the spring soccer program is starting up and nobody wants to be responsible for it. Well don't look at me I have enough on my plate with getting the upcoming garden season organized.

Have a Terrific AF Thursday all and all to come.....:smile:PPQP

Thanks for the kick off, Lav. May as well enjoy the snow at this point.

DTD - You had me rolling with your jokes, thanks!!

PQ - How'd it go with your eyes? Is the soccer and gardening at your community center?

Hi Sam, did you go see about the airport job?

Now you're getting the hang of it, Mick. Glad to hear you found the pool and beach.

Pauly, I don't envy you at all dealing with sick kids. Hope they improve quickly.

I covered my glass sliding door with plastic in advance of this latest cold front. Truly amazed at how effective it is in keeping out the cold drafts on this northern exposure. My dogs are still huddled together under a blanket though. Something like Lav's chickens, I'm guessing.

              Be well, friends.

                MAE ALL....

 Eye still bad and he has started me back at every 4 hrs. May have something to do with the new stress of soccer and community garden.

Sam...We started a Community Garden here at the Community Centre and we're having our annual general meeting to kickoff the new season, so basically I'm doing everything  I thought I had learned how to say NO!

Mick...glad to hear you're finally at pool and beach stage. I'm suspecting you'll wait to post pics till after you get home. Won't be too long now.

Pauly...Happy Birthday to Louie. Sorry to hear the kids are sick makes it tough on everyone.

Pie...yup they're both here at the centre. I'm only supposed to be doing admin work for the soccer but the volunteer group is having issues. At least it's kicked off and we'll deal with things as they come. I'm jealous of you and Mick's DIY ability. Any job I've started ended in the bin.

Didn't get into work till just before lunch and you'd think I was the only one here that knew anything. Getting so fed up with the demands put on me I started forwarding the requests to the other boss as he is really the one responsible for them. Got most of the fires put out but wasn't my cheery smiling self. Actually had thoughts of a "double" but that has passed. Tomorrow should be a much calmer day.

                Have a peaceful evening all.......:smile:PQ

Hey PQ, Your suspicion that eye trouble may be impacted by work stress may deserve further consideration. Hope you too have a peaceful evening.

                    Hey Abbers,

Didn't mean to disappear ALL day!
I got preoccupied watching it snow.....

DTD, thanks for the humor - good job!!!

PQ, so sorry about your eye!
Stress definitely does impact our wellness & never in a good way. Do the best you can to take care of yourself or I'll be forced to put Stella on a bus & send her to look after you. She'll peck you right into compliance

Sam, I measured 8" of snow, then it snowed for a few more hours so I don't know how much we got - enough I'm sure. It's supposed to be 10 degrees tomorrow morning & the local schools will be closed again. It's going to be ice city!!!

                    Mick - 88 degrees?? REALLY???
I hope you are having a marvelous time!!!

Hi Pauly, happy 2nd birthday to Louie - sorry the kids are sick! There's no escaping it this winter. I hope the party is not too crazy....it is a kid's party, right?

Pie, my house will be 12 years old this summer but I'm starting to notice that the weather stripping around the doors needs to be replaced - feeling the breezes lately. I guess I'll see if there is a you tube video to help me get it done.
I baked up a big fat seed treat for the chickens today. They have fun pecking it apart when they're cooped up

Greetings to everyone yet to check in. Have a peaceful night one & all!

hey everyone, quick post before work, getting a cold now but I'm sober and had a lovely evening at a rollerderby friend's house for dinner. Made me miss it, decided to give myself 6 months off then review it - part of my huge relief is needing a break from overloading myself and making a decision.

We talked about injury fears and guy on the team who does sports psychology had interesting perspective on this.
Anyway - for now - I'm enjoying the break.

I've seen two friends houses this week - which really puts into perspective need to do mine up,declutter, sort storage and cleaning regime,a hired cleaner if need be!May book a deep clean to get us started post declutter.

Loving sober life - energy to think about things and what I really want.
                      Day 40 something here,lost track a bit!

PPQ - hope eye is ok - what's been trouble,Lav hope you're surviving the snow and everyone else hope you're all good.
