Good morning Abbers, happy Saturday to all

    Thanks for the coffee Mick!
Watching this new snow melt today is on the top of my list - also running out to the feed store. My chickens just eat & eat, ha ha!!!!! I am on my iPad at the moment, my laptop just shut down on me. I will check back in later on a larger device

Have a great AF Saturday everyone!

      Morning, all.

Lav, I agree that learning how to respond to stress without using alcohol, is a key part of living an AF life. I think I'm in good shape on that front. What I need to remain vigilant about is romanticizing what I used to enjoy about alcohol, and remembering that I'm not like other people who can have just a little.

Mick, you're without your computer? Any idea what went wrong with it? Have fun finishing off your planter with new feet and tile.

      Happy Saturday, everyone.

        MAE ALL....

Mick...thanks for kicking us off and the coffee. Was awake at 4am but managed to get back to sleep so restarting my day now. Assume pic of the new planter will appear when your computer appears. The roof climbers appeared around 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Scared the sh*t out of them when I banged on the window. LOL

Lav...the thought of sitting there watching the new snow melt sounds absolutely perfect.

Pi...for me it was learning how to deal with loneliness without AL. It had become a companion for me. When I would start to romanticize about AL I would force myself to remember the day I decided to quit. I was so hungover I thought I was going to die. You're going to hit your 1 year this summer so use that to remain vigilant.

Trying to wake up before my visit with Dad. Forecast has changed for the better but still don't think we'll be able to get outside. Could have used the jokes this morning but that's ok I'll read them later Mick. I like the hypochondriac joke though. Have a Super Sober Saturday all and all to come.....:PPQP

            how do all?
how's everyone doing? Springing along, I hope. Off to play some tunes for an art show. They set us up next to a blank white wall, after everyone finishes throwing their favorite veggies at us, we move and voila! Art is created. Doing 2 sets so there's plenty of time to do it right!

check in later, be well friends

              as promised folks...

Just as we were heading to bed my girlfriend asked "Did you put the wheelie bin out?"

"Ah, no, I'll do it in the morning" I replied.

"What about the cat?" she said.

"Well, I'll ask him but I don't think he'll be able to push it" I answered.

The fact that jellyfish have survived for 650 million years despite not having brains gives me hope for our Next generation.

I'm really upset with this florist, it's obvious they know nothing about floors.

I asked my mate Paddy, "If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?"

              He said, "The moon."

My girlfriend just told me to grow up.

              I was speechless.

It's impossible to talk when you've got three Cadburys Creme Eggs in your mouth.

My daughter told me she thinks she got caught pregnant by sitting on the school toilet.

"That's ridiculous," I said, "You have to be sexually active before you can get pregnant."

"My boyfriend was sitting on it as well, " she replied.

Today is the 75th anniversary of the emergency phone number 999.

I called it and sang them a Happy Birthday.

They weren't very appreciative. Grumpy feckers.

Pauly....sorry you had a crappy night's sleep. That really doesn't help anything. Hope mick's jokes helped.

Mick...thanks for the jokes. Loved the interesting observation, that's a keeper.

We're blanketed in fog today. Does that mean we're getting warmer weather? I'm so ready for spring to show up. Visit with Dad was a good one. He hasn't been this alert for awhile. Hopefully next weekend we'll get outside. Will check in again later......:PPQP:

There was a fog over the snowy fields this morning but as it started to warm up & the snow melted everything ended up nice & clear. Just the way it should be

Stopping in. I had checked in a few days back and I know there was concern over people not posting here. I know for me I don't spend nearly as much time behind a computer as I once did. The time I do spend is researching or setting up appointments. When I do come on to read.....I realize many of the comments are regarding the day before as they should be and I don't have the time to look and see...WTH you are all talking about

Pie...I totally agree with you. Gosh, I have found moments where I was having a romance with a drink. A remembered time when it was fun.....I have this picture that flashes up from time to time from the day I moved to my new hometown. Its a cozy pic of hubby and I in the bar. AND as many times as I have tried to erase it....it still shows up somewhere. Or even today....we took my mom to a place to eat....that we used to drink at a VERY long time ago. It's a regular restuaraunt, not a bar....and damn....did I not eye everyone's drink in the place! And to be fair out of 30 people 2 were drinking.....guess which two I wish I was.....at freaking noon!

Mom is here for a few weeks and we are working on her depression. I love my mom.....but, I think three weeks was a bit much. It has triggered the hell out of me....and some days all I can wish for is the day she leaves, drop off to airport.....me straight to a bar.....there are some open at 9am right? I know I won't act on this, I know when she leaves I will miss that I did enjoy every moment of her being here.....but, sometimes it really is hard. Her depression is severe and I am spending half my day just getting her out of bed. She wants so much to get well.....and it breaks my heart to see her this way.
