hey everyone, up early before work so I'll just put the kettle on.
Two more days left at work right now,can't wait, really looking forward to booking a spring clean with a company as a treat - then i can de clutter.

Pie I've had 3 lodgers - definitely friends of friends is the way to go - I have a friend who has strangers who work here and live away so are only here in the week.I wouldn't like that. I usually find there is someone coming out of a relationship who needs a bolt hole. Good luck - and go with your gut.

Lav 6 years - that is amazing, you've been here since day 1 for me and you're an inspiration to me,I remember your big old blue head too

that bit about the yoga teacher was good ...yes part of it is ..alcohol may not be the cause..or not originally the cause,but maybe at the time being used as the "aspirin"to cure...but take too many aspirins and the original issue fades and disappears as the urge to take aspirins takes over...pretty poor comparator ..but does that make sense?
be good to get your mum swimming....I love it tho recently havent been .. because i still have the pains where all the lower tissue is trying to heal itself where I tore it..so exercise at the mo isnt my best subject can still exercise as long as I dont go stupid with it..ha!
one thing tho..please give yourself breathing space too...you need to look after yourself........

Thanks for saying Hi, Sam and Mick. Things are going well other than I'm beginning a flurry of travel all over the US today and I'm something of a happy homebody...

NS...I wonder about the same thing. For me I found myself sitting on the floor, in the dark, in the middle of the day, drunk and saying to myself...if you don't do something you're going to die. I took myself to an AA meeting feeling very fragile and hopeless. I consider myself lucky that I didn't have to experience an acute crisis.

That was pretty much my experience, too, PPQP. I felt like such a cliché, finding myself in the "existential abyss" despite what appeared to be a comfortable, productive, and even meaningful life. It was all those things but I couldn't feel any of it - I'd numbed it all.

I wish I knew what made Wednesday, January 23, 2013 different - on the surface it was no better or worse than countless days before but for some reason, I absolutely knew I had taken my last drink. I decided MWO was the key - and so it was. And I'm so grateful- thanks to all of you!

NS, the important thing about about any quit day is that it exists!!! I joined MWO about the same time as you, but it took me 5 months of procrastinating to allow myself the choice to stop. This site was a lifesaver for certain!

Must read back a day to see what SF and PQ wrote of their quit.

I've heard of The Big Bang Theory PQ, but haven't seen in. I'll keep an eye out for a chance to watch.

NS, there was no acute crisis for me either in deciding to stop drinking. The short answer is that I just wanted to rid myself of all the negatives that had built up after decades of alcohol abuse. I reached a tipping point, I guess.
