Australian cricket legend Richie Benauld dies at 84.

No wonder he never replied to me.

    I kept posting to 87.

I got talking to a girl in a bar last night.

I said, "If you saw what I had in my trousers you'd be shocked."

"Oh really?" she smiled, "Prove it then!"

So I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out a dead rat.

I'll never forget the last words my dad ever said to me.

"Pack your bags and fck off."

This rather overweight unattractive girl came into my surgery,
"I'm desperate, " she said, "please can you remove my two front teeth. "
So I examined her and said,
"I'm sorry, I can find nothing wrong with your teeth, why do you want them removed? "
"It's next week, " she replied, "I'm on the Jeremy Kyle show and I wanted to look my best

The bloke who invented the turbocharger died this week.

    His funeral's any day nnnyeeeeeeeeeow.

I don't usually roll my own joints, but when I do,

It's either my ankle or my knee

People that take lots of selfies need to take a good look at themselves.

"That is him," I said to my wife in the shopping centre. "That's Kenny Baker, the actor who played R2D2 in Star Wars."

"Are you sure?" she asked. "It doesn't look like him. Go on over and ask."

A couple of minutes later I walked back over to her. "Well, what did he say?"

    "Nothing," I said. "It's a rubbish bin."

A Brit, a Frenchman and a Russian are viewing a painting of Adam and Eve frolicking in the garden of Eden.
"Look at their reserve, their calm," muses the Brit. "They must be British".
"Nonsense," the Frenchman disagrees. "They're naked, and so beautiful. Clearly, they are French."
"No clothes, no shelter," the Russian points out, " they have only an apple to eat and they're being told this is paradise. They are Russian."

My father worked in a steel fabrication plant.

They didn't produce anything, they just said they did.

Good morning Abbers, happy Friday to all!

Chilly, dark & damp here - no spring weather whatsoever. I'm beginning to feel a bit cheated, ha ha!
Thanks for the coffee Mick, I'm sure it will help.
I did a whole lot of nothing yesterday & probably will do the same today. I want to be outside doing stuff but the weather is holding me back. I'll just start out with a trip to Curves then see what happens

Greetings to everyone. PQ, hope your eye is OK lady
    I'll check in later.
    Have a great AF day!

Morning, Mick and all to come.

Interesting to hear about Thumper, a lionhead you said? Have you seen him?

Should be no problem to get work today; Fridays are always busy. Really poor sleep last night, which I can be grateful for as a reminder that my AF sleep overall has been wonderful. It was something I worried about when I first quit. I'm about 9 months alcohol free now, and amazed to have truly made the changes that needed to be made in order to drop those chains. I'm seeing and thinking clearly, and life is good!

      PQ, how are you?

      xpost Lav, Good Morning!

            Morning all....

Eye is coming along. The contact lens sure helps. There's no pain but it's like having dust/dirt in your eye, very difficult to keep it open. I just can't believe how exhausted I feel all the time. Must be the body forcing me to rest. Another trip to the hospital this morning for follow up then hopefully nothing till my regular scheduled meeting with my own ophthalmologist on Wednesday. Still a lot of crazy glue encasing my eyelashes, may try some tea tree oil to help start dissolving it. Will check that out with the Doc this morning. Hopefully things will settle down and I can start posting properly again. Thanks for tagging along with me on this journey.......:smile:PPQP

I'd try coconut oil PPQP, tea tree oil is kinda tingly, it might irritate your eye, but maybe not, glad you're ok

Mick, I have nearly no knowledge of bunnies, but for the one lionhead I occasionally take care of for a friend. My interest comes more from the rescue side of things. So many animals come in without us knowing their histories, but they often have health issues needing to be identified and addressed. Excellent vet care is critical, as your story illustrates in the initial misdiagnosis of Thumper as having an eye infection, to the real issue involving his teeth. Huge difference in the treatment needed for him to have a good outcome.

Pauly, a few things come to mind that have been very helpful in changing my thinking about drinking. Early on, Jason Vale's Kicking The Drink Easily, helped me see that going alcohol free was anything but deprivation. Later, I came across Kevin McCauley's video explaining the mechanism of addiction. To me that was huge in understanding what's going on physically and chemically with a craving. That understanding makes me feel less vulnerable in dealing with them. Also, the actual experience of being able to leave the house anytime I want to, particularly in the evenings, really rammed home for me what a prisoner I'd become of my drinking.
Thanks for asking the question, Pauly. It's good to reflect on these supports.

PQ, I love tea tree oil in shampoo, but not sure I'd use it near my eyes. Good on you for checking with doc first.

                    hey ho all
been out of internet for a bit... data usage.
PQ, I read back to your eye mishap, Must have hurt like hell. Glad to read you're better. Years ago I had a similar thing happen with paint remover, a bit of it flicked off a brush and went into my eye, man was that smarts!! My eye crusted over in the night and I couldn't open it at first. It is amazing what we throw at our bodies and they can bounce back. Take care and take er easy...

hey everyone - good luck with the eye - ouch, I wouldn't put tea tree on it I'd see what docs say re eyelashes and glue.

I'm feeling very stressed today - work event tomorrow, millions of things all had to be done today, doubting myself and difficult conversation that had to happen with team member. I've got to talk in front of 20 people and facilitate discussion tomorrow at the event and be up at 6.30am - have done this before and always enjoy it when it's happening, but I dread it and worry I'll mess it up.Senior managers there too,I know anxiety is pointless but I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all.Deep breaths.I've been having drinking thoughts - I know it solved nothing - thinking I could have some booze tomorrow night at the gig after wards.Partly colleagues saying about having ' a big glass of wine' when they get home - i know it won't be one. I know it will make me even more anxious, miss exercise sessions, which will make me feel even worse, and eat trashy food and take me back 10 000 steps.
Just needed to get it out - I know this sounds negative, I just need to vent and get it out so it doesn't rattle round my head.

Good to see you Sam,figured it was an internet issue,Bear,it doesn't sound negative at all we have to come here to vent, that's what it's here for, take a step back and breathe, relax, and squash those drinkin thoughts of course they'll come and go but kicking them out early helps so they don't fester
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

bear, no amount of alcohol will erase anxiety for long. Having to deal with the aftermath stinks. Anxiety stinks but it won't kill us. Took me a long, long time to really believe that but it's true. Good luck & just do your best

PQ, thinking of you & your eye situation - hope all is well!

Sam, I've been looking around here & Facebook for you. Thought it may have been an internet problem. Hope everything is OK. Do you have another market day tomorrow is DC?

Pie, both of my dogs are rescues. I've had my fill of purebreds, they can be crazy.
I even took in a flock of hens years ago when the owner just up & moved & left them with no food, water, no care whatsoever - pathetic. They were scrawny when I got them but they ended up being a nice bunch of birds.

pauly, have fun playing with the flatbread. It doesn't have to be perfect, you can make it into any shape you like. Using Bob's Red Mill GF baking mix makes it easy. I have all sorts of GF flours so I sometimes make my own baking mix (when I'm in the mood, ha ha). If you want to try dairy free Daiya makes a good cheese alternative or look for the almond cheese. I stay away from soy products. Enjoy

OK, getting close to calling it a day!
                              Peace,
                              Lav
