    Good morning...

Went to bed early and woke up a little early. But of course, I could have slept in today!

Dill, thanks for the extra energy, I am going to need it. Grandson arrives about 11 am. So sorry to hear your granddaughter has an ear infection. We are so lucky to have urgent cares. When my kids were little, we didn't have them and it was a pain in the neck to get quick medical care on the weekends. Enjoy your peace and quiet. I started to reread Michener's, "Poland," and it is very good. I also started reading this book about the mystics, and a new area of interest is Julian of Norwich, a nun who lived in the 1300-1400's. I had never heard of her before but like what I read so far. Some sources credit her with being the first female to write a book in English.

Lav, it does feel good to sleep well, I have been eating badly though, and that is not helping. All processed food for the last few days. Today I am going to make a nutri-bullet smoothie with veggies and fruit, homemade soup for lunch and not sure about dinner. But I need to get my veggies and fruits back in. I am going to visit my Dad next weekend, so that will give me a little peace. I just won't be able to see him as much as I'd like due to the distance. I am lucky in that my brother(s) are taking charge of the formalities, so I don't have to do that part. Lav, I know you spoke of having to do almost everything when your parents were sick. How hard that must have been. Hope you had fun with your daughter and granddaughter.

Looks like more rain for us, darn. Hope they are wrong. Have a great Friday. Hello to Pauly and Cyn, Pap too.

      Good morning friends!

I did indeed have a nice day with the girls yesterday
It was a much needed change of pace, believe me! We walked & walked, stopped for lunch & got to browse thru some cute little shops in town. My granddaughter was focused on finding the 'perfect princess castle'. The town they live in has lots of huge older homes that actually do look like castles to a 4 year old, ha ha!!

Dill, I sure hope your granddaughter feels better soon. Summer colds & infections are a bummer but pretty typical too.
I hope you get lots of R&R this weekend!!

Star, you are going to have a busy weekend, that's for sure
I was a bit scared keeping the kids overnight at first because I was on my own at the time. Everything worked out just great of course. These are the times we can be especially proud of ourselves & our determination to live our best lives.
Take a look at a food blog we were talking about yesterday on the AF Daily thread: www.deliciouslyella.com/
This young girl knows her stuff

      Greetings Pauly, Cyn & Papmom!
Wishing everyone a great AF day. I'm off to Curves then back here for some work. I will be watching the ITs this weekend - oh boy!

          Hi all!

Did I skip a day for posting? Not really sure; it's a whirlwind catching up on stuff that I've let go the past 2 weeks.

Good to hear everyone's summer stories. Dill - congrats on those 11 days, I agree, you do get the Granny award for this month! Lav - glad you had time with the girls. I'll try to check out the food/website that you referenced. Star - have fun this weekend with grandson; it's good to have 'new' life around. I'm also grateful that you have plans to see your Dad soon; that will be great for both of you. Pauly - 2 kittens, that must be SOME cute.

Have to make it a quick note today; still lots to catch up on, and SD is coming for the weekend tonight. Must at least dust, vacuum and change the sheets!

Wishing all a splendid AF night and weekend.

              Hello All,

Lav, after that exhausting 11 days what did I do? I had 2 quiet days and then turned around and offered to have the granddaughter over night again! LOL! Grandson was spending the night with his cousin so I thought if I had gdaughter over that would give their Dad a night off. I know he just had 11 nights off, but those were not while he was feeling good. Makes a difference.

Cyn, are things going to settle down for you a bit? You sound like you have been in high gear for a long time! Hope your visit with SD is good. Is Mr. Tree home this weekend too? I smiled when you said you were changing the sheets for SD and wondered if you were ironing them for her too!

Pauly, lots of fun having kitties around. I've been thinking about getting one too. We haven't had a cat around here for quite some time since our last two elderly cats died. It's been 3-4 years now.

Star, gdaughter's ear infection has cleared up and she has finally stopped that infernal coughing! Thank goodness the doc prescribed antibiotic. Mr. D has the same cough and has continued coughing. I keep suggesting to him that he needs to see his doc but he is refusing to go. I'm worried it will turn into pneumonia. How is little grandbaby?

Have a good AF weekend everyone.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

                Good morning friends!

                Happy Saturday to all
Hot & humid is the word for the weekend weather, probably T storms as well.
Our daughter asked last night if they can visit today. Sure, why not? ha ha!
The ITs have been good so far & not causing too much commotion.

Pauly, I love animals, pets are important members of our family. What I do not love are the vet fees - outrageous!! I spent $500 last month just getting my two dogs in for their yearly checkups & shots - ouch! It's a real shame that we have to consider money before giving an animal a home.

Star, I hope you have a great weekend in granny mode
I hope your visit with your Dad goes well next weekend. I know how concerned you are about him.

Dill, I sometimes wonder why we keep making ourselves so available to help out with the grandkids. I can only think it just is the right thing to do, not only for them but for us as well. The last thing I want to do it sit around doing nothing especially with my eternally grumpy spouse. I need all the distraction I can possibly get from that, ha ha!
I hope Mr D feels better soon!

Cyn, time flies when you are so busy! I hope your weekend has some relaxation built in for you!

Papmom, I am sorry you are dealing with more doggie illness right now. Thinking about you

Have a good AF day everyone!

                  Happy Saturday all -

No ironing of sheets for SD, Dill! That girl wouldn't know an iron if she tripped over one. But I did do a super-fast dust, vac, clean the kitchen floor and dog beds before she arrived (just made it). It felt good to get a little control over the dust-bunnies everywhere. Bless you for taking your Gdaughter again - your son is very lucky to have you as a Mom.

Lav - I suppose any distraction from mr grumpy is a good thing. Glad the IT are behaving.

Star - hoping your weekend is going well with the little guy.

Pauly - how is your weekend going?

Pap - sorry to hear if you are having doggy health issues. Like Lav said, the vets can do our budgets in big-time, and the heartache is terrible. Good luck.

OK, here's my situation. You won't hear much from me for one more month, then I will be able to reclaim my life. Because of having to fit in this unexpected x-country move for the NY client, I am waaaaaaaay behind on deadlines for the summer festival in August that I write for and work at. So...11 days to get caught up and to prep the house, dog food, and dogs for being gone 3 weeks. Working like a crazy person for the first 3 weeks in August, then home and re-define life. Looking forward to that - last night I had a dream that I was in prison!

OK - HB and SD are back from their Estate Sale jaunt - better go greet them.

Cheers all for an AF Saturday -

I am totally worn out after a busy day with my daughter & family. We all had fun!!

                      Hello All,
Cyn, I wish you well for the next 4 or so weeks. Your life sounds incredibly busy! How is your health holding up? I hope you can manage to post at least some of the time and let us know how you are doing. SD sounds like my kind of gal. If it isn't "easy care" I don't buy it! LOL!

Lav, I'll be hiding out in the AC today. It's way to hot and muggy. I have to process the last batch of peas we picked, so that will be a good indoor job. Peas are done for the season tho. I liked hearing about your mid summer planting. I hope your plants can withstand this heat!

Star, hope you are doing well and enjoying your family time.

Pauly, I saw a story on NBC news last night about Las Vegas and thought of you! It was about the shows becoming more popular and Vegas being the place to be for big name performers.

                      Have a good one, everyone!

                        Good morning friends,

Dill, we are stuck in the hot & humid stuff here too. The heat index is supposed to be over 100, yuck.
Today will be one of those days I feel compelled to run icy treats out to the chickens, ha ha!

Wishing everyone a cool AF Sunday!

                            Morning all -

Hot and humid here too! We closed up the house to preserve the little cool we have. All the shades are drawn, and I have all the fans on. I didn't put a window A/C in my office - and so far haven't missed it, and have preferred having the breeze from the extra window. But....today I may have to work in the GBR where there is A/C in the window...

I've got plenty of work to keep me busy, so no problem there. And keeping the blinds drawn stops me from seeing all the stuff outside that I can't get to, so that's a plus. At least earlier I was able to put down cardboard and mulch on the raised garden beds - last august I came home to a forest growing in that garden. So far it looks like the weeds are keeping to themselves; in the rest of the yard!

I do have some tomatoes on the deck, so the dog sitter will be happy harvesting them.

Wishing all a fulfilling Sunday - AF or course, thank goodness. Thanks for the FB offer, Lav - I think my friends have abandoned me there, as I rarely check in. But I might load it on my new smartphone - I've never had phone access there before...maybe I might check more often...

Take care all - Star, sending you lots of strength -

Cyn, get your new phone set up with Facebook. I never thought I'd use mine for Facebook but I actually do. Gives me something to do while waiting for an appointment or standing in line at the grocery store, ha ha!!
Go & enjoy yourself, don't worry about anything

Pauly, my granddaughter has been changing a lot lately. You never know who they look like from week to week, ha ha!
I saw your Facebook pics today & it looked like Louie was having a fine time Great!!

                                Good morning...

I am back! It was a wild and fun weekend, I was exhausted yesterday when they left, had to clean, shop, then finally relaxed. It was worth every minute.

Good to hear everyone is doing well, busy and AF. That is the main thing. I jus think that drinking, nothing is much fun, due to feeling sick if you are not drinking. What a cycle of misery it was. Now, we are able to live life and be our best while doing it. It is a true blessing.

                                Have a great Monday.
