Morning friends, Lav,school starts today,its weird cuz the past couple of years Brady was going at 7:00 to 12:45 now its changed to 8:00 to 2:30 so odd,Dill,I managed to get a tank top and some Capri things that are stretchy cuz when I get off of work I hate clothes that cling,I like to let it all hang out,but not look like a slob haha,suffering from Mondayitis again but I'll survive, hello to all and I hope we all have a great day

Lav, wow! You slept and entire 8 hours night before last? That must've felt great for you. No hot flash waking you? Great. I hop last night was a repeat. It's funnly but I had a similar experience night before last. I went to bed early and felt super tired. Next thing I knew it was 5 am and I had slept thru. It was great!! Last nigh, same! I think the cool temps helped some but that can't explain it all.

Pauly, I am glad you found something at Kohls. I hear you about wanting to be comfortable without looking frumpy. I go for comfort first too, but I do try to look half way decent. Today is the first day of school for grandson. I know he was dreading it, but I am glad he'll be back at it.

Hiya Star and Cyn. I'm reading Tulip Fever which so far isn't setting me on fire, but it is a good read none-the-less. The story is about a young woman married for economic reasons to an older man and it's set in 15th century Amsterdam during the time when tulip bulbs became an economic boon.

I suppose you will all laugh at me but I do love to watch duck dynasty. I had recorded the season finale which was the wedding of young John Luke. I watched it last night. He and his bride seemed impossibly young, but the wedding episode was nice and brought me down memory lane thinking of my long ago wedding as all the characters shared stories of their weddings. Corny but I loved it!

Cyn, I did go back to work and everyone was so kind. I could not have handled all the emotion last week, this week I was OK. It was good to be back and busy and interacting with everyone.

So it's Tuesday, the day before Hump day huh? Ha ha!
I am sleeping like a normal person, thank goodness. The lack of estrogen causes hot flashes which interrupts my sleep. The lack of sleep causes my B/P to go up not to mention iffy moods. Then there's the moon phases to be considered, right Cyn?
I am just going to have to stay on the HRT, not much choice.

Star, I'm really glad to hear you are back to your routine this week. Grief takes a lot out of you so keep on taking care of yourself :hug:

Pauly, the latest studies show that teenagers are better off starting school later in the morning. I don't think I've ever seen a teen ready to learn anything at 7 am, ha ha!
I have some Kohl's bucks to use myself - love that place, need to get there more often.

Dill, we won't judge you for watching Duck Dynasty, LOL
I just cannot make myself sit & watch that kind of stuff. YB watches some bizarre stuff on TV that I find depressive & at times offensive. I won't watch that stuff either. Doesn't make for peaceful sleep for me.

Still warm & muggy here but the humidity is supposed to move on later. I sure hope it does.

Hi all!

Where did my post from yesterday go? Operator error, probably! Oh well, I was just reporting that I re-did the guest room (NO ironed sheets this time) for my ex-SIL, who is a great friend of mine. She lives outside of San Fran, so I don't get to see her often. She is doing a long swing through the east visiting friends, and her son who lives in Brooklyn, so we met up last night. She took the train to where Mr T has his rental, I drove down, we had supper there and got back around 10:30 pm. Long day, but good!

We each have some computer work to do today, but then we'll do errands and bum around. The last time she was here was in the middle of winter, so I'm looking forward to showing her a few of our little towns.

Star - so glad that going back to work was OK. As Dill said, continue to take care -

Dill - Tulip Fever sounds good, I hope it turns out to be a good book. I just finished a book (translated from the French) that the maker of Game of Thrones credits for being the original historical drama. But all of the events in the book are true - which is really sobering. It was about the last years of the reign of Phillip the Fair in France, and the suppression of the Knights Templar, etc. Sheesh, what a violent time, but it really read like a fictional adventure. Just picked up the lauded biography of Cleopatra, just because it was here...we'll see, I'm still in a mood for French history.

Lav - I'm with you on evening TV that's alarming and violent...I just can't do it. TV is banished from our bedroom (but it's in the BR of Mr T's rental, so he's having a good time there) I have wild, scary dreams a lot of the time - I don't need any electric images stuck in my head! Glad that you are sleeping better. The head of the national association of endocrinologists once told me that it was better to stay on HRT than to go off of it and be stressed out. So I'm good with staying on it! Good quality sleep is too important to health!

I've been on boy watch since 8:30 this morning. Why do they make SO MUCH NOISE?
It's 73 degrees & sunny here so I keep pushing them outside to enjoy this perfect day

Yep Cyn, it seems I have no choice but to remain on HRT. I just can't risk a heart attack or stroke right now with my B/P going up everytime I reduce the dosage. I have eliminated all other risk factors - this is the best I can do. I hope you are enjoying your visitor, having some fun.

Hi Lav, I don't know why boys are so loud, but they are! LOL! I've been on the go all day today and am only just now getting home and finally able to relax. I started the day with my fasting blood work draw first thing in the morning, then there was just a lot of other things I had to get done and it took a lot of driving but I got it all done!

Cyn, I put that Kate Winslett movie you mentioned earlier in the month in my netflix queue. It looks like something I will enjoy. I'll give you feed back after we see it. Tulip Fever is enjoyable but a bit too much of a love story for my tastes. Interesting historical time tho.

There was some talk last evening about the possibility of the boys coming back today & I said NO. Enough is enough & I have had enough this summer. I happen to know my son is off today but wants to do something at the local fire house, that's not my problem.

Hello friends,

Another busy day here. We are just back from a boat outing. It was beautiful and peaceful out on the lake, We brough my good friend along and we all had such a good time.

Early this morning I made some home made hand/face cream. My SIL gave me her recipe. It was a gooey process but well worth it. She gave me some for my birthday one year and I have been requesting it for Christmas and for my birthday ever since. I finally asked her to give me the recipe as well so that I can make it for gifts for friends.
