Good morning friends, happy Hump day too

The weather folks are talking about a break in the heat wave. It's been 90+ for the past 8 days. They just predicted it may only go up to 89 today, ha ha! Big deal!!!

    Cyn, welcome home!
I thought about you too during the full moon phase. I was actually out on the deck a few nights between 9+10 pm to spot the International Space Station going over the house. I get text alerts when it's going to be visible from my deck - pretty cool! I hope you are taking a bit of time to relax your busy self

Star, I hope you feel better soon. This virus is a particularly nasty one

Dill, I am happy to report this cough has been decreasing little by little. It's productive & yucky! Is Mr D taking something like Robitussin DM to help break up the chest congestion? I did take it for a while & it was helpful. We are quickly moving into hayfever season & that is another issue for me, yuck.
Glad you had a good day out with your friend.

Yesterday was busy but fun! I made a batch of pizza dough, had the kids add toppings of their choice & grilled their individual pizzas outside. My daughter & granddaughter were here as well so we had a lot of fun.
The boy will be arriving sometime on Thursday & staying the entire weekend with me. Their parents are going to a destination beach wedding in SC. My son will be the best man for his friend. YB will not be returning until Friday evening some time. Looks like I will be pretty busy!!!!

Greetings Pauly, how are you today?

Have a great AF Wednesday everyone. I am heading out shortly for a doc/NP appointment, oh joy!

      Good morning all...

Feeling better, I am fighting that cold, and getting lots of sleep, and eating alot. Too much. But, I have to feel better. This weekend, I have no plans, maybe the state fair, but other than that, I can relax. I know that I am really stressed out about my Dad's health issues, and when I am stressed, I get sick, catch something, so of course, my same pattern, again.

Lav, you are having a great summer, seeming to enjoy spending time with your family, entertaining, cooking, good for you. After many years of stress, finally, AF and NF, you are able to share yourself with people you love in a healthy way. Plus, let's face it, the grandkids are only little for a short time. I have thought of that for me and realize it is so great that we moved, this last year cannot be replaced. Busy as you are, you make sure to come onto MWO and give your support and fellowship (to borrow from AA). Thanks although that word is inadequate.

Dill, love you for your support, and I had a bowl of your virtual chicken soup and it was sooo GOOD! What a nice time you had with your gf! I am still looking for a gf who is around my age to hang out with. Lunch and a walk sounds great!

Cyn, hope your weather is beautiful in New England, late summer fall can be the best up there.

Pauly, shout out to you, have a good one.

      Happy Thursday!

My goodness, Lav! I didn't realize your heatwave had been going on so long! We have been having such pleasant weather here for the past week. I just assumed it was heading your way. Today we are facing some serious rain. I don't think the ground has been dry even once this summer. Our tomatoes have been dying from so much rain. And Mr. D is absolutely frustrated to death with the raccoons getting into his corn. He didn't put electice wire around his corn patch this year because it is such a hassle, but he is regretting it now! I guess you'll be busy starting today with the boys. They'll have fun at Camp Meema! (I can't remember if that is exactly what they call you, so correct me if I'm wrong, please.)

Star, you sound like you are starting to feel better. I hope so. It's funny but I have fallen out of the reading habit recently. I guess my schedule has been so disrupted with child care duties that I just got off track. I have yet to start on The Source, but now I am not sure if I am ready for a book that long. I am going to read the other you talked about a few months back called The Day I Met Jesus. That way when I finish it I can pass it on to my SIL. I think she would like it. The dear woman is suffering thru a round of chemo bc her cancer which had been in remission for 5 years has returned with a vengeance. She is such a trooper. I truly admire her spirit.

        Hello Pauly and Cyn!

Have a great AF Thursday everyone.
        Dill

          Good morning friends!

Yes Dill - Camp MiMom is all prepared & will begin operation in about three hours, ha ha!!
The weather folks announced the end of the heat wave last eveing because the temp 'only hit 89 degrees' yesterday. Still felt hot as hell to me. I am such a Fall & early winter girl. I can't wait
Our big garden nemesis around here is the groundhog! They get into just about everything. YB had a Havahart trap out but all he kept trapping was our neighbor's cat so he gave up. I had two zucchini plants in one of my raised beds but had to yank one a few days ago. The center stem was rotted & had some white looking mildew on it - too much rain? Not sure! Never saw that problem before. I hope your SIL rallies again, that's sad for her.

Star, glad you are starting to feel a bit better. This viral thing is pretty rough & has been taking people down hard. Who needs this in summer anyway? Stress can really affect our immune systems, I know from personal experience. Keep up the good self care, it always pays off

Stress & annoying things & people seem to come out of no where. For example, last evening around 6:30 pm I posted an article on Facebook that had I received by email from a health & wellness organization I trust called 'Food Matters'. The article was about the dangers of eating GMO soy. I have been completely unable to digest anything made with soy for many years. Not 20 minutes after posting the article my younger brother jumped on FB & immediately discredited the research as junk science. He lives in CA & works for Monsanto - the company responsible for making GMO soy. Why was he on FB at 3:30 in the afternoon during his workday? HA HA!!! The fact is I don't really care about the validity of the research. I just know that I am unable to tolerate soy & many people are. I was left feeling quite irritated with him (once again). He never talks to me about anything. He just feels the need to attack everything & anything I have to say. What an idiot! Personally, I think he's worried about keeping his job, the company is receiving a lot of resistance concerning their unhealthy products these days. OK, rant over!!!

Greetings to Cyn, Pauly & Papmom. I hope everyone has a good AF Thursday!

              Good morning all...

Had a difficult day,my Dad is so sick, and asked for my brother to go down to see him, so he is today. It was on my mind all day. I wish he would get hospice, he is so sick, in pain, getting no help. I woke up aching all over, gee, wonder why. I know it is stress and try not to feel upset, but it is rough. Glad it is Friday.

Lav, sorry your brother is so disagreeaable, you have the right to say your thing on your facebook page. He is brainwashed! Hope your day is cooler. We had a really cool rainy day yesterday and I am ready for fall, too.

Dill, the Source is a huge undertaking, maybe in the colder weather when we have more time to ourselves. It is worth the read though. My one tomato plant died from all the rain, all I got were four tomatoes. No control over the weather though!

Pauly, hope you sleep better tonight.

              Have a great Friday.

Good morning friends, happy Friday to all.

Star, I am really sorry your Dad is suffering so unnecessarily. Maybe he is moving closer to agreeing on hospice care, It will be the best thing for him & everyone who loves him

I really don't give much of a damn about my younger brother & his attitude. It's been his choice to remain in the biotech field so he needs to learn how to handle the feedback from not only me but much of the world as well. No one wants to eat a tomato that has had fish genes artificially implanted in it - yuck
I am a huge proponent of staying away from GMO foods. They can't prove that they are safe so they don't want to label them. That's my gripe with my brother's employer Monsanto.

I am just about 24 hours into my grandson's 5 day stay - we are all doing OK although I did wake up with a slight headache, ha ha.

Dill, hope all is well with you!
Pauly, did you sleep any better? I think that blue moon thing was bothersome for me.
Cyn, how did you do with the blue moon?
Papmom, I see on FB that you are a busy bee.

Have a great AF day everyone!

Star,:hug: I wish I could make this time easier for you. All I can offer is my support and prayers. Take care of yourself as best you can.

Lav, hang in there with the boys. I hope reinforcements have arrived by now! I know it makes a huge difference for me when Mr. D is here while the gkids are here, especially the grandson. He has a completely different set of skills than I do.

                  Hello Pauly, Hello Cyn.

Sorry this is so brief. Have a good evening everyone.

                    Good morning...

Hard day yesterday re: my Dad's illness. He needs hospice and hopefully will get it today. Lots of stupid reasons it has been put off, and unneccessary suffering. Will find out more today. I am going to take care of myself, booked a massage as I am having head, neck and shoulder aches from stress. Then, relaxing at home, cleaning a bit and making a light dinner.

Lav, you are a brave soul! Really, it would be fun but stressful. I miss my grandson already. Thanks for your support.

Dill, hope you are well, thanks for your support.

                    OK, more coffee for me.

                      Good morning friends

I don't mind having the boys here except for two things. 1. the youngest is an early riser (too early) & 2. the noise level can be unbearable at times. Hence my fondness for encouraging as much outside play time as possible!!!

Dill, the cooler weather has finally gotten here, thankk goodness!
I have never been a fan of heat waves, that's for sure. It is helpful to have YB around to help, esapecially with the younger guy. He has ways to distract them, definitely a unique skill set.
What are you doing this weekend?

Star, I hope your Dad can start his hospice care this weekend. It is the right thing, the most compassionate thing at this point
I hope your day goes well & your massage is helpful.

Greetings Pauly, I hope your weekend is going OK.

                      Hello to Cyn & Papmom!

                        Hello friends,

Star, I'm glad your Dad will have Hospice. They helped SO MUCH when my in-laws each passed away. They are like angels. I hope your massage helped. I'm glad you are caring for yourself.

Lav, I have my gdaughter here today and tonight. So that is what I am doing! So far we've played in the pool and have played with play doh (home made) and have watched some netflix. Now it's bath time and then we will find a few good books in the stack we got from the library. Her favorites are, Froggy, Elmer the Elephant, and Bad Dog!. The boys are planning on pitching a tent in the woods tonight. I'm afraid they'll be eaten alive by mosquitoes! They'll need OFF, for sure.

So that's me. Busy and AF. Take care all.

                          Good morning friends!

We all had a half decent night's sleep, yay!

Dill, I sure hope the mosquito fest wasn't too bad for your campers! A sleep out sounds like fun
I much prefer mosquito-free sleeping these days. My older grandson showed up with a bag full of books that he is reading throughout the summer. He's reading really well all on his own. I haven't been able to get the younger one to sit long enough for me to read to him - he's different.

Star, I hope you are OK & not feeling too stressed today.
Dealing with end of life issues with our parents is rough & something we just can't avoid. Having some amount of faith & believing that our loved ones are moving on to a place of eternal peace was helpful to me

Hello to Pauly, hope your weekend is going as well as possible.
                          Greetings to Cyn & Papmom.

Not sure what today will bring but hoping for the best!

Mixed day yesterday, tough, great massage, got to babysit.

Lav, I agree to have beliief in the afterlife is everything, otherwise nothing makes sense. Have fun this weekend.

Dill, what a great plan. We'll see if my Dad can get in hospice. Let's hope so.

Looks like I am going to have to go back down as their are problems, so added stress.

                            Have a good one.

Star, I can only imagine how difficult things are for you right now. Distance is such a huge complicating factor, especially with the cost of travel these days. I hope your employer will be understanding and give you time to go if you do need to go. I'm glad you got to see your grandson! I bet that helps.

Lav, the tent campers survived the mosquitos but they did say it was pretty bad. They had all the basics of a good camp out otherwise. Only 16 days until school starts again so time is growing shorter to enjoy summer time fun. Of course I hate to see the summer go for the kid's sakes, but on the otherhand, the structure of the school year will be welcomed by their dad!

Hiya Pauly and Cyn. Still thinking of you too, Papmom.

Everyone just left so the house is a mess, but blessedly quiet. I think I'll just pick up and put a few things away and then perhaps sit down with my book. Have a good af Sunday afternoon and evening.
