    Good morning friends!

Rainy day here so we're stuck inside at least for now.
I am attempting to clean up this disaster that is my house, oh boy.

Dill, glad your campers did OK.
I'm not sure when school starts around here, I'll have to look that up. The routine of the school year can be a good thing

Star, I hope you are able to visit your Dad again this weekend. Hopefully by then he will be settled & comfortable. Try to take care of yourself in the mean time

Hello to Cyn, Pauly & Papmom - hope to hear from all of you today!

Have a great AF day everyone!

Lav, rainy day here, too. There were some breaks in between tho. I was determined to get a walk today so I took the opportunity to head out. Unfortunaltely, I was caught in a huge downpour half way thru and went home soaking wet! LOL. It was funny, but I loved the whole experience! It was a warm summer rain so I decided just to enjoy.:happy2:

Star, I know when you have to travel for funerals you can get a "bereavement" discount. At least that was the case some years ago. I wonder if you can get a discount on your ticket if you talk to someone at the airine and explain it is a necessary trip due to serious illness. It might be worth a try. Airfares are so high! Have you heard of Allegiant Airlines? They have limited flights but really affordable. See if they have any flights from a city near you.

Do any of you use an electric blanket? Our house is so cold I can't imagine getting thru the winter without one. Mine wore out so I just bought a new one and even tho it is August, I put it on the bed already. I hope we have some chilly nights so I can try it out.
I know that's not likely for a while!
      Have a good AF evening.
      Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Can you hear the quiet? The boys have gone home, ha ha!!
It was nice having them but the noise factor was really getting to me. Why do boys make so much noise? There seems to be a lot of competition going on with them.

Dill, me use an electric blanket? The east coast hot flash queen? LOL
We actually received one as a wedding gift but I was afraid to use it & just donated it or something. All the talk back then about electromagnetic fields, electromagnetic radiation & breast cancer scared me. Now we all use cell phones & other devices & are absorbing all that radiation, ugh. I hope you enjoy your new blanket. I am sure they are a lot safe now than they were back in the day.
I still have the AC on, ceiling fans running in the bedrooms, etc. I obviously have no heat tolerance whatsoever.

        Thinking of you Star!

          Good morning...

It is really muggy and hot here too. It makes it hard to take a walk or be outside.

Lav, take care of yourself after the fun with grandsons. I had an electric blanket as a kid and loved it. I don't need one now, I am always warm. It is scarey with the way we use cell phone and what that means for us. I don't know yet. This is the first generation that uses them so much.

Dill, there is no bereavement ticket anymore, darn it. I have begun to understand that this is a marathon, not a sprint. Now that he is in hospice, he is doing a little better. Of course, good care and comfort. Still so sick though. It is and has been hard. Taking care of myself, eating lots of fruits and veggies, being healthy is my priority right now, so I can travel and stay strong.

          Have a great day friends.

            Good morning friends,

Dark & raining here, flood watches all up the east coast - swell.
I had a pretty decent sleep last night so I am going to go ahead & visit with my daughter & granddaughter for a few hours today. This is something we had planned. YB is off & going along so he can handle driving, ha ha.

Star, glad to hear your Dad is receiving good care. Hopefully that will take some pressure off of you & your family
Have a good day & be kind to yourself.

Hello to Dill, Pauly, Cyn & Papmom.

              Hi all -

I'm not home yet! Still a slave out here in the west -- but this is the last week, so I'm hanging on and counting the days.

Star - I quickly read back and see that your Dad is entering hospice. You are right - it is a long journey, and this move to Hospice will be a new chapter. But at least you know that they are dedicating themselves to keeping him comfortable. I hope you can find a flight to get down there. Big hugs and support coming at you from here ---

Lav - MiMom's camp sounded noisy, but hopefully fun as well. Dill - you too!

Pauly - hope all is well with you.

Was it a blue moon? Wow, I missed that part, but I did enjoy the sight of the moon, even with not great sleep. We are in an area where we sometimes get the smoke from the CA fires blowing into the area - we are a long ways away, but it just shows you the power of the fire and the winds. So strange to smell smoke in the air.

Time for me to get back on schedule here - but as I was writing this, a tiny little bunny came up to the deck window and greeted me - a good reminder that life and nature keep on going, even when we are busy and unaware! Take care all - I'll write again from the east when I get back on Tuesday. I'll be thinking of you in the meantime ---

Cyn, really nice to see you and hear that you are doing well. One more week and then you are home free! That is amazing that you smell the smoke from the CA fires.

Star, it must be a great comfort to you knowing that your dad is in the caring hands of hospice. Did your brother stay a few more days or did he have to get back to his home/job? How close is he geographically to your dad?

Lav, I should have known you wouldn't have need of an electric blanket! LOL You know I had forgotten about all that business about electromagnetic waves causing cancer, etc. They don't say that anymore, do they?

                Hi Pauly.

Well, we got a call from the marina where we keep our boat. Twenty-one boats were vandalized over the weekend and ours was one of them. We went today to see the damage. I'm relieved to say that it wasn't terrible. They slashed the canvas of the tent cover and discharged the fire extinguisher all over the cabin, but nothing was stolen. We have insurance. It's just such a pain. I really never have understood the thrill someone could get by vandalizing someone else's property. Probably just some bored teens.

Have a great af Tuesday evening all.

Hello friends, just got back from a weekend trip to visit family, it was fun but not nearly as relaxing as I had planned on Cyn,I'm very surprised that Vegas isn't getting the CA smoke, we usually always do,blue moon is a full moon that happens twice in a month pretty rare I guess, I'm sure Lav has more info for us she's the main moon source haha, electric blanket talk gives me anxiety, when I was about 14 my parents picked one up at a yard sale,I was using it and it started smoking!!!so never buy a used one, traumatizing,Dill, sorry about your boat IHATE vvandalism, it irritates me,these kids around here just love to tag all the concrete with spray paint,it gets repainted then bam hit again, I just don't get it,destroying other people's properly for what?stupid, Star,at least they'll take good care of your dad at hospice, make him comfortable, hope everyone is enjoying their Tuesday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Yay, good to see you Cyn!
I can't believe you didn't know about the blue moon - you are my moon buddy, ha ha!
You must be awfully busy & preoccupied
My brother lives near Sacramento, I know he is breathing smoke-filled air.
Hope you have a good week!

Dill, that's a real shame about the vandalism. I take it there's no real security at the marina? Maybe the owners/operators will rethink that
I remember the big fear was r/t breast cancer worries with the electric blankets. I think that fear was quashed. The jury is still out on the radiation we're taking in from our cell phones, TVs, microwaves, etc.
Maybe we should all be living in tents or caves.......don't know.

Hey Pauly, good to see you back! Most weekends & vacations are not relaxing in my opinion - at least for women. We still end up having to take care of everyone, don't we? I loved your FB pic with Louie - cute

Have a peaceful night everyone. Tomorrow I am back to watching the boys again, oh my!!!!

                        Good morning friends

Sunny start to the day after yesterday's inch+ of rain - yay!
Just watching the boys today, nothing else in the works really. If they look like they are willing to behave I will put them in the car & run eggs over to my Curves friends. I haven't been able to get in there to actually exercise for a whole week. Funny how you miss your healthy routines.

Star, I hope you have a good day!

Hello to Dill, Cyn, Pualy & Papmom.

Hey Lav, gorgeous day here! I'm sending it your way for tomorrow. I hope the boys were good for you today.

Pauly, good to see you! It's been a few days and I wondered if you had given up on us! Ha!

Star, I hope you are doing ok.

                          Hey Cyn, hang in there!

I helped Mr. D mow the lawn today. It's a 3 hour job so I know he appreciated the help. He fixed our old mower that he broke last summer. He had to replace it last summer to get thru the season so now that he fixed that one we have two good riding mowers. The old one is 7 years old but now that he fixed it, it's going strong! How long does your lawn take, Lav? Hey Pauly, do you even have a lawn? You know, I used to actually drink and mow? That's really kind of stupid. Glad I don't do that anymore!

                              Good morning All,

Pauly, just relaxind at home is the best way to be with family, IMHO. Hope you and Bobbi enjoyed. I have never been to Oregon but would like to go someday. It's a long way from Ohio! I really want to see the Grand Canyon and I'd like to see Sedona, AZ. I guess I should take the bull by the horns and make it happen! Have you ever been to Ohio? I've been to CA, Texas, OK, Missouri, and CO. Other places too, but I mean as far as the western states, that's what I've been to.

Star, I hope you are OK. I am concerned by your absence, but I certainly understand things are difficult right now. Do take care of yourself, please.

                              Lav, whatcha up to today?

                              Hey Cyn.

My daughter's birthday is tomorrow. I sent her a few little things for her big day. I wish I could be there with her! As you know, she has the wine store in NO. We ore on the email list from the shop. The most recent one advertized "Back to School Wine Sale!" Oh my.

Oh well. As far as I can tell, she is not a problem drinker. I think she takes after Mr. D's side of the family. (non alcoholics) But the sale headline did give me pause.

                              Happy AF Thursday everyone!

                                Good morning friends,

I am so glad to have the day off today, ha ha!!
I wish I had thought to actually keep track of the # of hours I'm putting into childcare this summer. I think we'd all be surprised.
I am getting some work stuff completed this morning then heading out to Curves then meeting friends for lunch - yay!
It's not easy to find a day where everyone is available. Why are we retired people so busy??

Dill, I don't involve myself in mowing here. YB flies around the 2.5 acre lot on his diesel powered Kubota & gets it done pretty quickly. It's bizarre though that the grass is still so thick & lush in the middle of August - plenty of rain I guess.
I don't think buzzed mowing is such a good idea - grateful none of us are going there anymore.
The back to school wine sale ~ well, I guess that's OK for normal drinkers, kind of a funny thing really. I just wonder how many of today's normal drinkers are going to turn into problem drinkers somewhere down the road. Having lived without any AL for the past 6+ years makes me wonder why we ever thought it was a good idea. I am glad that your daughter is doing well in her business & hope she has a great BD!

Pauly, I know you have had a busy summer dealing with family. Maybe getting everyone settled for the Fall will help. Does Louie go to any preschool? Even two mornings/week or something is nice for them. They really learn a lot & generally have a lot of fun. Our two younger grandkids will be doing pre-K this year & the oldest is starting 1st grade - nice.
I ended up stitching up another Hello Kitty shirt for my niece's daughter. The girl is turning 7 next month & I've never even met her but I heard from her parents that she would love to have one
I have copies of all these kid designs but I don't have a license to sell things - so they have to be gifts.

Greetings to Cyn, Star & Papmom - hope everyone is OK.
Have a great AF Thursday everyone!
