    Good morning all,

    Star, thinking of you.

Lav, I wish that you didn't have those chronic hot flashes. I hope your increased dose of hrt helps! Isn't it funny how just one week makes such a big difference with kids? They are growing and changing constantly but when you are with them you don't see the changes because they are so gradual. But as little as a week can make a big difference when they are little.

Pauly, I am a binge reader too. If I find a book I like I can't put it down!

    Hiya Cym!

Not much happening here but a whole lot of nice weather so I'll be out for a long walk today! Have a good af Friday everyon.
    Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Good morning friends, happy Friday too!

Star, I know you will be OK. Thinking of you with much love & support

Pauly, getting skin tested for allergies is not that big of a deal - kids get it done all the time. You don't have to choose to have years of allergy shots afterwards. Sometimes you can simply avoid allergens once you know what you react to.

Dill, you would think a solid 20 years of hot flashes would be enough
No one has any idea why I am still overheating - it's miserable. I hope relief comes soon.

I am watching the boys at 11:30 & just found out my daughter & granddaughter are coming too. Looks like a busy day shaping up.

Hi Cyn, are you settled in yet?

Have a great AF day everyone!

      Lav

          Hi all -

Late check in for me, as it was an interesting day...

Star - sending you comforting thoughts. Time, time, time...

Lav - hope you are not totally exhausted with all the troops there today - whew!

Dill - I am in the same camp - hard to put a book down. My Mom was like that too - and sometimes she would jump to the back of a long book! When she stayed with me for 6 weeks due to a torn ACL, I gave her the set of Harry Potter books, and in reading the last book she jumped forward to the end, just to know that it was all going to turn out OK, then she went back and finished the middle.

Pauly - good luck with those allergies!

So here's today's story: I think I mentioned that Mr Tree is working in NYC until December. He has a rental outside of the city. Since I dropped him off on Monday, he's been without his car. He's coming home for overnight tomorrow, and I didn't want him to have to wait for a train to come up here after work - driving is much faster, given the Saturday train schedules. So my dear neighbor followed me to our train station up here, and I left my car there (she took me home). Then I drove Mr T's car down to his rental, got dinner supplies and put them in the fridge (he had left an upstairs door unlocked) and left a note! (and the car keys, thank goodness). I took the train home and picked up my car - got it all done in 4 hours, so that wasn't bad. I was so excited to surprise him....he was shocked when he walked to his rental from his train stop and saw his car! And then was shocked to see my note and the food in the fridge. Mission accomplished!

That about did me in, however. I am really struggling with extreme fatigue - before I left in late July, my naturopath gave me a supplement to boost my adrenals, which are kind of shot from all the months of running in high gear. That got me through the work earlier this month, but I find that I'm not bouncing back now very well. But it's OK, since I don't have any huge project in front of me at this moment. Also have something very wrong in my back and neck - but will be seeing a DO next Wednesday, so I'm sure that will get solved.

In the meantime, I'm happy I got to pull off a big surprise!

Thinking of everyone, and grateful for an AF Friday night...

What a wonderful surprise for your hubby Cyn,you're a great wife what supp did you get for adrenal support if you don'tmind me aasking, I have heard of some different things, long day for me,I had to register Brady for school by computer which is I think just a ploy to actually get us to READ the paperwork they sent home in the past, usually I'd just sign them without reading as I'm sure most parents did, I used the computer at the school and it kept freezing, took me an hour, thank goodness I only have one kid going, hope everyone has a peaceful night

                Good Saturday morning friends!

Nice out so far - it's under 70 degrees, yay

Star, glad you checked in, thinking of you.

Pauly, I am seriously sick of hot flashes, no kidding. They started at age 41 & here I am 20 years later still dealing with them. The only time I get real relief is when I am on a higher dose of HRT. I've been on a lower dose for a year now, hoping to be able to wean myself off altogether but apparently I can not. I am 100% sure this is a major factor in why I lost my sh*t along the way & decided to try to drink my way through menopause. It doesn't work - obviously.
Glad you have your son ready to hit the books

Greetings Dill! Are you having a 'girl weekend' with your grandaughter? Mine was so bubbly & full of life yesterday!

Cyn, you get the 'nice wife' of the year award, ha ha!
I just can't see myself going through all that trouble for YB. Then again, he wouldn't appreciate it either.

Oh well. time to hit the feed store.
Have a great AF day everyone!

                  Hello friends,
Lav, yes it is going to be a girl's weekend with granddaughter spending the night, but we might let Mr. D join in, especially if he'll take the little lady fishing at the pond!

Cyn, you are spoiling Mr. Tree! LOL! Funny about your mom jumping to the end of the book to see the ending before she plowed thru the middle. I can actually understand wanting to know if the end would be ok before I invested myself in reading the whole thing! I read one book years ago that was on the oprah list. It was a fiction novel that was very well written but the ending left me upset and even a bit angry that I had been sucked into reading it! I went off oprah books after that. LOL

Pauly, how are you feeling? Still the cold/allergy symptoms? My throat tickle cleared up and I was ok.

Have a great af Saturday everyone!

                  Pauly,
                  Dill

                    Happy Saturday all -

Star - hang in there. Thanks for checking in, we're thinking about you all the time.

Lav - I'm the same as you - at least 15 years of hot flashes now. I'm on a low dose, and it mostly handles things; I can sleep most of the time, thank goodness. The more I read about the microbiome, I see that some of us don't make the amount of hormones (all made in the gut) that others do. That's the only reason I can see that some of us suffer for years. Of course, you and I are already on top of food and the microbiome...but I guess it could always be worse, right?

Dill - hope the little lady gets her fishing in.

Pauly - good for you for getting your little guy ready for school. I guess it is that time of year already! I take a supp called Drenamin, (by Standard Process, I think) I get it from my naturopath, but I also used to get it from my acupuncturist. Not sure if you can get it w/out a professional ordering it.

Well, I took the drenamin this morning, and it got me through cleaning the house to be ready for SD and Mr T coming this afternoon. They'll both have to head home tomorrow, but I have company coming on Monday, so it was worth getting done. But now I'm shot! Going to grab a sec to lie down and rest my back before everyone shows up. It will definitely be take-out for dinner tonight!

                    Take care, all -

                      Good morning all...

Finally feeling a bit more normal today. Ran around yesterday, will be getting new glasses in about 10 days, like them alot. I found a farmer's market and purchased my fruits and veggies there, it was nice to find a new place to get things fresh. Attended a sports event last night, it was just beautiful outside, cool, low humidity, may it last.

Cyn, you are the busiest lady I know, have fun with your company. It was so sweet of your to surprise your husband, you two have to be separated often due to work, and what great way to make him feel at home.

Lav, my hot flashes come and go, still, after 10 years. I don't think they are as frequents or as intense as yours are though. If you need the HRT, take it, I say, so you can sleep. Enjoy your family.

Dill, so great you are able to work with your son to take care of the kids, and have fun at the same time.

Pauly, hope you feel better. I think getting ready for school is fun. The kids have started here, they have a different system. Only eight weeks in summer off, and I think that is a good idea.

Today, off to babysit, then home to cook and relax. Have a good one.

                        Good Sunday morning friends

Glad to report that I slept thru until 5:30 am before the warmth gently woke me up, ha ha! That is a big improvement after just a couple of days back on the higher dose HRT. What a relief! I'm sure my B/P will be returning to acceptable levels as well. Dealing with Mother Nature & genetics is a *itch

We wound up watching our granddaughter for a while yesterday so her parents could have a little time off. We took her out to dinner at a little local place & she was thrilled, ha ha. She has matured quite a bit this summer & is ready to start pre-K on the 31st!

Star, glad you are out & about & feeling better.
Focusing on self & those who need us helps us heal after loss. I hope you enjoy your babysitting time today

Dill, hope you had a good overnight guest!

Cyn, hope you are resting when you can. Don't wear yourself out!

Pauly, what's up with you today?

My plan is to get caught up with some outside garden/chicken work. Perfect weather today - yay!

Have a great AF day everyone!

Morning friends, not much planned today, groceries (bleh) must use my $30 Kohl's Cash cuz it expires today,I almost forgot about it cuz it was tucked away in my wallet, I made sure to put it with my money so I'd see it cuz if it expires, that's basically like throwing 30 bux away, and I can always use a shirt or something speaking of that,I'm gonna go through my clothes again and just donate stuff that even though is practically new,if I'm not wearing it, or I've matured out of,there's no reason to keep it,I usually donate to the abused women and children's shelter, maybe some of my awesome clothes perk them up in their situation, other than that just hang with Louie and Kell, hello to all, hope everyone enjoys their Sunday

                            Hello all -

Mr T and SD are gone; I had to drive to a 65th BD brunch this morning an hour away. I haven't really recovered from that! Too many people that I didn't know, so the socializing was not so easy - but the birthday girl was happy to see me.

Star - so glad that you are feeling a little bit better. Great to find fresh vegies and fruits - nourish yourself.

Lav - granddaughter this time! I was just thinking about your daughter - how is is going on the home front? Still lots of painting and handiwork?

Dill - hope your weekend has been good.

Pauly - how nice of you to 'gift' your wonderful clothes directly to women who need it. That's a fabulous thing to do.

Going to rustle up some dinner now. Then laundry - I just unpacked yesterday from being gone all that time...I have a few loads to do. Slowly I'll get the bed re-made for my friend that's coming...

Have a great AF Sunday evening, all. Star, are you going back to work tomorrow? If so - sending special support...

Star, glad you are feeling a little better. It will take time.
Pauly, did you find anything good at Kohl's to use your $30 on?
Cyn, the light is changing again. I noticed last night that it was getting dark much earlier, too.
Lav, hope you got caught up with your yard work yesterday. I mowed again yesterday. I was looking for something mindless to do! LOL Had a good time with granddaughter again. They grow and change SO fast!
Not much happening here today. Thankfully my jury duty was cancelled so I don't have that for today. A trip to the library is all I have planned. I'm sure more will come up as the day unfolds. Have a good AF Monday everyone!

                                Good Monday morning friends!

Just heard the weather girls say it's heading up to 89 degrees & humid this afternoon, possible thunder storms. Guess it's still summer, ugh.

Glad you enjoyed your girl time this weekend Dill
I am really glad to see my granddaughter has turned a corner this summer & has matured into a happy little girl. She was difficult for so long, ha ha. She's also grown about half a foot this summer!!
We ended up giving the chicken house a complete clean out yesterday - it was long overdue. We took the broken door off the chicken house Saturday & dropped it off to the Amish guy who originally built the shed. He was no where to be found at the time so we just left a note. Hope he's found it by now & will build us the new door before winter sets in, LOL

Cyn, I hope you found some time to RELAX just a little
We need to be building up our immune systems this time of year so we can get thru the winter months! I am happy to report that I slept for a full 8 hours last night ~ heaven!

Star, hope you are doing OK.

Papmom, I know you are busy but hope you stop by soon.

Pauly, when does school start in your area? I imagine your son is getting anxious

Wishing everyone a great AF day!
