Hi friends -
Quick check-in for me right at the moment. I left the house early to get a final blood test done - looking forward to hearing the results, this is part of a deep evaluation that actually looks at amino acids and proteins and who-knows-what-else regarding what I am absorbing, and what I'm not absorbing. There are still some worrying things for me health-wise, so I hope this will shed some light on something.
Got home and there were a flurry of work phone calls, all while I was trying to boil eggs, cook turkey for my sick girl-dog (though she seems better today...), organize the cooking for me and the boy-dog, sheesh. Finishing up a couple of details before I head out the door to the vet once again to see how my patient is coming along.
Dill - I was trying to tell myself all day that the week isn't really screaming by - it really is just Tuesday. But then you mentioned Hump Day, and I looked again at the calendar. Wednesday! Darn! Where does the time go?! Well, the outdoor stuff will have to wait for another day...too bad, as the weather would be good for stapling plastic over the screen porch, taking out the screens and swapping in the glass doors, blowing out the gutters, scraping and priming the front door shutters, removing the 1965 weatherproofing on the doors and putting in new, plugging the mouse holes... Well, there's always tomorrow, right? Take care all!

Greetings friends
I'm working this morning then driving my granddaughter home this afternoon. It's been another fun week. I've slept like a real pro this week, funny thing about exhaustion, havha!
Geez Cyn, I hope you find some answers soon. If we're not absorbing & utilizing our nutrients we could develop real problems
You would benefit by working with a creative nutritionist I think. Good luck!
Hope your doggie is better too.
Dill & Star, the westher has been absolutely perfect!
Allergies are still a bit of an issue but not too bad. So nice to enjoy the fresh air even if it makes you sneeze a little, ha ha.
Pauly, are you still with us?
Wishing everyone a fabulous AF Thursday!

Hi Friends,
Lav, today is the day that Pauly's mom was due to arrive. I hope all is well with her. I had hoped she would pop in at least yesterday or the day be before. Hopefully she posted elsewhere on the forum. Is your week over already? Good for you! You'll sleep well tonight.
Cyn, yes the time is FLYING by. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. I wish I could slow things down a bit. Sometimes I just sit down and will the time to slow down, but it ignores me completely! LOL. I sure hope you get some answers soon about your absorption issues. I am always amazed at all you get done and then you talk about health issues and I think, Wow. Superwoman! What would you be like if you were firing on all pistons?!
Star, Good for you on the stretching. I hope you can manage to work it into a daily routine for yourself. I bet it made you feel good.
I'm going to go see The Martian tomorrow at a matinee with Mr. D and a friend of ours. I hear it is pretty good. Has anyone else seen it or heard anything about it?
Have a peaceful af Thursday evening everyone.Dill

Dill, I honestly haven't been to a movie theater in probably 20 years - enjoy
I do see pauly on FB & have seen her posting there yesterday & today - just haven't seen her here. I hope she is OK.
Made my 70 some mile roundtrip to return my granddaughter home this afternoon. It feels weird without her here, ha ha.
She starts her new school next week (M-T-W) but I am going to be making the trip there & back on Thursdays until the school has an opening for Thursdays. Her Dad works from home on Fridays so he can watch her until my daughter gets in from school at noon. Oh boy!
A cold front is moving in I hear, oh well!!AF since 03/26/09

Good morning all...
Another lovely fall day and it's Friday!!!
Lav, you sound super busy, glad you get a few days to yourself to catch up, but what a gift to spend that time with her! Any plans this weekend?
Dill, that sounds like a good movie, I want to see Suffragette, with Meryl Streep about the early women's movement. You sound good, like you are enjoying this time, fall and peace.
Cyn, Pauly, hello to you, hope things are going well.

Hello all -
Shout out to you, Pauly, if you check in. Sending good wishes your way.
Star - TGIF! I'm interested in the Streep movie - I haven't heard about it. Boy, those women went through hell to get us the vote, I hope that the movie is good.
Lav - you are really remarkable - stepping into the void, AND doing travel duty as well! I'll say it again, your kids are really lucky. And so is Gdaughter! RE; my health, I am working with a nutritionist, and she's a doc so that she can order these deep tests. Nothing shows up on the allopathic front - they say that I'm perfectly healthy. Which is fine, but I feel that something is going on, and better to catch it now before things get bad enough for the regular docs to treat me! We're currently looking at adrenal disfunction, which would make sense, given the last 3 years of my work life...
Dill - I thought of you this morning early - I went out with the dogs (girl dog is better) and saw two wonderful stars - a really bright one, and a smaller but very visible one. Must be Venus, and...? I have heard that the asteroid showers are easy to see now...or have I missed them? As you say - time is flying!
Wishing all a great AF Friday!

Hello Friends,
The Martian was good with a blend of human interest and sci fi so it could be enjoyed by both Mr. D and I simultaneously. It was well acted by Matt Damon but it ran a bit long, IMO.
Star, I love Meryl Streep. If you go see the movie, let me know if you like it.
Cyn, I think you and Mr. Tree ought to consider replacement windows. You would love them if you can afford them. They are worth the investment if you plan to stay in your current home.
Lav, I'm glad you finally got to Curves. I bet it felt good to get caught up with your friends there. Is the craft show coming up soon?
I have no particular plans for the weekend either, but something will develop I'm sure. Of course I will have my regular overnight with grand daughter and maybe grandson tomorrow. Have a peaceful af Friday evening all.Dill

Good morning...
I am up early, feeling really well. I had a great day at work yesterday, busy and productive, then got a call that my daughter, SIL and grandson were coming over to spend the night. We cooked out, enjoyed our grandson, and had an evening filled with love and laughter. Today I am volunteering at a conference so will be gone all day. Glad I am feeling well. The weather here is still warm, but is supposed to cool off, then next week the remnants of Hurricane Patricia are supposed to reach the midwest. We'll see. I have been focusing on being present in the moment and grateful for all the blessing of the day, which add up, if you notice them. I have felt good, a happy mood more often.
Lav, it works to focus on being present and grateful. Just takes alot of practice. Glad you get to go to Curves and have a little time to yourself, for yourself.
Dill, the movie sounds good. We make noises about going to the movies, but have not seen one at the theater since we have moved, and we have a movie theater withinn 5-10 minutes from our house. My husband gets home so late we would have to go see a 9 or 10 pm movie and let's face, that is past my bedtime.
Cyn, sorry you are not feeling so great, hope you find out what you can do to feel better. There are no good docs around here that I can find, and I feel OK so have no desire for all the tests they love to run. We bought new windows at our house we lived in for 20 years and it was soooo worth it. Easier to clean and our utilities went down too, less air leakage. But, it was a small house so not alot of windows, either. I am not sure where the Suffragette movie is playing, but eventually it will be on TV too, so I will see it sooner or later. Someone at work said it is a chick flick, so we may go or my daughter said she would like to see it too. Too busy this weekend, but soon.
Pauly, hope your visit is going well. Miss you.
Have a good Saturday all.

Good morning Abbers, happy Saturday to all!
Sunny & cool here this morning, nice
I was up at 3 AM with my older dog then had a hard time going back to sleep. I really think her dementia is getting worse, ha ha.
Star, I hope yo have a good day!
I'm glad you had some good family time yesterday.
Dill, enjoy all the books & movies you can, that's what retirement is all about!!
Craft show starts Nov 3 & I am way behind because of having my visitor here the past two weeks.
Cyn, I imagine your adrenals are protesting considering everything!!
We tend to run ourselves absolutely ragged, don't we? I think the best thing we can do is tear our to do list in half! Half of the things we think are important truly are not. No one is going to die & the world is not going to end if we don't get all of the windows washed, right? I have been just letting a lot of that stupid stuff go - it just doesn't that much. My health & your health are much more important.
Hello to Pauly!
Have a great AF day everyone!

Hello friends, sorry for such a late check in again! I don't know where the time goes.
Star, I am not a huge fan of the movie theater experience but there are some movies that are best done on big screen, space movies being among those. I did go to see Meryl Streep at the theatre this past summer in the movie called Ricky and the Flash. I didn't particularly want to go but my gf picked it. It was not my kind of movie, but of course, Streep was excellent in her roll and I enjoyed the movie over all. I got the Celtic Daily Prayer book today from inter library loan. I am looking forward to checking it out tomorrow after the gkids go.
Lav, I bet you ARE behind on crafts what with the two weeks child care. I hope you can catch up. I had some funky sleep last night too. No dogs to blame it on tho!
Hey Cyn!
Hey Pauly, hope you are doing well.
Both gkids tonight. I am surprised I had this much time to post! Ha! (Think Netflix)Dill

Good morning,
I can't believe I slept till 7:30, I must have been so tired. The conference was great yesterday, then I came home and made a nice spaghetti meal with salad and garlic bread. It was soooo good. I invited a young couple over tonight for dinner, and their 2 year old. I am not sure what to make! It did cool off here and the highs will only be in the low 60s. I love the cooler weather.
Lav, hope you get caught up on our craft work. I clean my smaller house because I want to, I don't usually worry about windows. That says it all, right? I grew up in a really clean and controlled house and although my house is clean, I don't stress about it either. I think it makes a difference living in a newer house, it just seems easier to clean. Older homes are more compllicated, this is just my opinion.
Cyn, hope you are feeling better and getting alot done, I know that is important to you and to me too. I like things organized and in order.
Dill, I love movie theater popcorn, but not the high prices. I have been staying home more and not even going out to eat. I know I am saving money.
Pauly, if you get a chance, we would love to hear from you.
Have a super Sunday.

Good Sunday morning friends!
I ended up having my son & grandsons here for dinner last night. They left early, my son had to get up & out at 2:30 this morning for some OT work in DC. Better him than me, ha ha!!
YB finally came out of his semi-coma & helped me get some work done around the chicken house yesterday. It was mostly shrub trimming & a new cover over their yard to keep hawks out! Glad that's done
Star, it is easier cleaning here than it was at my old place. My biggest dirt contributors are two dogs, one cat & a YB!!!
Good thing I am not a clean freak! Enjoy your dinner company today, sounds like fun.
Dill, Netflix is a grandmother's best friend, honestly! At least you can select some better quality programming, right?
Hope your overnight company was fun!
Cyn, how are you feeling? I hope you have scheduled yourself some rest time this weekend.
Pauly, hello to you!
Wishing everyone a AF Sunday.
It's a bit damp out so a perfect day to catch up on some work in my shop.
