Quick check in to say 'hi'. It took a long time last night to download Microsoft 10, and I was bumped off the computer for awhile. Off right now to get my hair cut so that I don't look to shaggy when I see my old friends.

More later! Thanks all for your support for this trip - just to the midwest, where I lived and worked for 25 years. I'll be seeing my old colleagues there, and lots of personal history. Sorry Lav, gotta take the computer, but work will be mixed with a lot of fun and reminiscing (I hope!). It's so hard to spend funds on something that's not absolutely necessary...but on the other hand, maybe this is necessary for my soul.

Anyway - see you all later -

          Good morning...

Dill, the book is Celtic Daily Prayer, Readings and Daily Reflections from the Northumbria Community. Whew, what a long name. I am still in the beginning stages of the book, but I love the prayers. From what I understand so far, they want to incorporate daily prayer, several times a day, what a great way to live. Like a monastic community, but in the world. So, being Catholic, I know you probably know what I am talking about. The weather here is still summerlike, I love it. I ordered new quilt, sheets, etc. for our room, excited to get that stuff. I have been decorating just a bit and enjoying that.

Lav, I have done so so on the WW this week. Doing my best, I can't wait for the weigh in on Saturday. Grilled veggies are always soooo good. The pizzas outside sound like such a wonderful idea, and I bet really tasty too. You are very creative in daily life. Just sayin.

Cyn, please don't feel guilty about spending on yourself, you deserve it! The midwest is just beautiful right now, leaves turning color, 70s and sunny, let's hope the gorgeous weather lasts for you.

Pauly, the doctors suck. The last time I was sick in December 2014, I had to go to another Minute Clinic as the first person I saw told me I wasn't sick. Excuse me? What the heck. I of course was billed for both visits, but I was so sick, and sounds like your family is too. If someone's fever is 104, they have an infection,I know that and I am not medically trained. My thoughts are with you as you try and find competent caring medical care.

          Peace.

            Good morning friends,

Starting out with sun, clouds due to roll in later along with rain tomorrow, oh well.

Pauly, I sure hope your family is on the road to recovery! Fall is lovely but the cooties seem to flourish this time of year.

Star, I am no longer a church goer but I do have a spiritual side. I do take a few minutes, here & there during the day to thank God, the universe & mother nature for all the gifts we receive
I am determined to fix my health & the health of my bones with decent food, exercise, good supplements & forgo the toxic Rx stuff. I just heard it's National Perogie day - OH BOY!!!!

Hi there Dill, what's happening with you?

Cyn, not sure when you are leaving but I wish you a wonderful & safe trip

Have a great day everyone, I'm off to Curves soon.

              Good morning all -

Pauly, good luck on finding the right docs. Sometimes it just takes searching, which is so hard to do when you are sick! Sorry Louie was so sick - those high temps are always so scary.

Star - love to hear about that new bedding. Where did you order your things from? I'm glad too that you are making your place your own with decorating. For us, I am only thinking about getting rid of stuff...maybe when I accomplish that, we'll replace some things, but possibly not...I don't even look at catalogs anymore! (It helps that I registered us so that the overwhelming amount of excess mailed is lessened, but a few still sneak through.) I love the traditional of daily prayer - it's just like a reminder to be present, to be mindful of the passage of time, right? I look into that book. Since I'm a full-blooded Celt, I should read it.

Lav - crossing fingers for your Dexa scan results. You are a model of taking your health into your own hands and fixing it.

Dill - hope all is well with you. Have you seen the moon waning? This was an amazing moon cycle - crystal clear and gorgeous when it was waxing, the eclipse, and now a gentle disc descending. Gotta love nature.

OK, I'm off to try to make hay today - my days have been a jumble of plans, preparations, etc. It's been hard to get my 'real' work done. It takes so much to get out of town, I'm glad that I really want to do this trip, or I would be my usual grumpy-getting-ready-to-leave self!

Have a great AF Thursday all ---

X-post, Lav! I am here today and tomorrow, leaving at the crack of dawn on Friday. This is not such a frantic trip - I should be able to check in while I'm away...since I am taking my computer! Happy Perogie Day --

                  Good morning...

The cooler weather and rain is supposed to hit today, but right now it is in the mid-sixties, lovely weather.

Cyn, have a wonderful time on your trip.

Pauly, hope you are feeling better, and your family.

Lav, love how you share your health journey with us, you have given me so many ideas and I have made changes in my diet with some of your tips. Again, you do it your way, and I use what is right for my body. The name of the game is feeling good and being healthy. Any plans for this weekend? Not me, so far.

Dill, hello to you, hope your Friday is great.

To all, have a good one.

                    Hello Friends,

Cyn, safe travels to you. I know you will enjoy catching up with old friends. Very good of Mr. T taking care of you by making reservations so you'll have a private space to yourself. It sounds lovely! I actually have been enjoying the waning moonlight. What a gift it all is.

Star, I looked at the book on Amazon and got a "look inside". It looks like a good one. Thanks for telling us about it. I will put it in my 'cart' for my next order. I love Amazon!

Lav, I hope you got good news from your dexa. My last on showed the a little thinning but not too bad. I am addressing it thru vitamins and nutrition. I second Star's thanks on you being so good about sharing your knowledge and ideas about good health and nutrition. I've learned lots from you.

Pauly, I hope Kell and Louie are feeling better.

Had a good day yesterday. Nothing special, just nice weather, nice walks, visit with a gf, etc. A simple day. More of the same today I hope.
                    Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Morning friends, have a safe trip Cyn,I'm sure you're well on your way now, hope you have fun Louie and Kell are both doing ok,Lou's fever broke the next day,he was in the rain on Monday,I wonder if had anything to do with such a high fever Tuesday?maybe the dirty Vegas air bringing down germs with the rain, who knows,Star,I love how Lav takes care of herself too with diet and such and I've learned things from her too,its putting the knowledge to use that I can't seem to get straight, sometimes ,but not consistent, I've been working on quitting smoking with the help of an e-cig,so far I'm doing pretty good but I noticed the first day of it,I was totally over thinking it and making myself frenzied,I think I do the same with AL!! Mick had told me that awhile ago and I agreed but until this whole cig thing I guess I didn't realize how true it was,Dill, what plans do you have for today? Lav,have you guys had your craft sale yet? The Catholic church usually throws the funnest Oktoberfest, with games, music, food, crafts,no booze of course but last year they didn't have it I'm hoping that they put it in this year cuz its one of my highlights of October and I need some baked goods darnit! There's a renaissance festival this weekend but its too expensive to go,we went 3 years ago and I spent $300 on entrance, parking, food and little things here and there,no booze even though everyone else there was drinkin, thank goodness I didn't drink there,I would've ended up spending double what I did haha, alrighty, enough waffling, I hope everyone has a blessed Friday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

Good morning friends, happy Friday too!

Just heard it's heading to 80 this afternoon with rain moving in. Tomorrow's high will be 66. This is when people always end up getting sick, we'll see.

I didn't get any results of the Dexa scan yet but I am hoping for some improvement. My last scores were pretty dismal. You all know the effort I've put in trying to improve my scores - thanks for hanging in with me
My big dog had me up for about 45 min. during the night. Her stomach issues always pop up out of no where, ugh.

Cyn, wishing you a safe & wonderful trip!! I hope you have lots of fun connecting with your old tribe

Star, no weekend plans for me so far, how about you?

Dill, I hope you have another pleasant day just like yesterday!
Isn't every day of retirement supposed to be pleasant? Ha ha!!

Pauly, how are you & your crew? I hope everyone is feeling better.

I'm off to Curves shortly then back to my shop to do some crafty stuff.
Have a great AF day everyone!

                            Hi all -
Late checkin for me; I just finished packing and doing the dishes, getting all the dog notes ready, etc. And it's before midnight! That's a record for me!

I'll take off driving about 7:30 tomorrow morning. I'm actually starting this trip by going first to Boston to see a friend get a very important award, then in the evening I'll drive to the airport and stay overnight and get on an early plane to the Midwest. I'm a little nervous about the drive to Cambridge, MA, but I guess it can't be any worse than NYC!

Thanks all for your support for this trip. It's going to be very interesting - Lav, was it you that called it my tribe? Yes, that's it - my tribe!

I don't know if I'll be able to post tomorrow, but I'll do my best to let you know that I arrived safely on Sunday, and will let you know how it all goes.

Sending big wishes for a great AF weekend for all -

                              Good morning all...

                              Cyn, have a great trip.

                              Lav, no plans here.

Dill, so happy you are having a great week.

Pauly, an ice cream cone phone case? How cool.

I blew weight watchers last night, Jimmy John's and chips, but overall I have done well and feel better. I hate the weigh ins, that is why I quit before. This time I am going to keep trying, do my best, and leave alone what I don't like. So there. Have a good one.

                                Good morning friends!

Cooler but dry today, looking like a nice weekend ahead

Wishing you a safe trip Cyn. I'm sure you will enjoy your 'tribe time'!!!!

Star, I only ever did WW online. I don't think I would have liked weigh-ins either. WW definitely did get me to thinking about portion control though.
Watching YB's eating habits make me shudder. To him every meal is an 'all you can eat buffet' That's his problem though, not mine. One meal off plan is not that hurtful, you can make up for it the next day.

Greetings Dill & Pauly! What's everyone doing this weekend?

I have no specific plans, will see what happens. I just saw on FB that the guy we bought the fig trees from is now selling green tea plants. Just may have to look into that since I consume a lot of green tea

Have a great AF day everyone!
