    Hello Friends,

Lav! You must be kidding?! I hope there is some kind of a good explanation coming. Exactly how old is your gdaughter? Was it an actual preschool or a daycare? I can't understand that, really! I know when I worked in the special needs preschool setting we often would get kids in our school that had been kicked out of other schools due to behavior, but not crying! I hope you can give us more explanation after you hear more of the circumstances.

Hello Star and Pauly, hope you had a nice day. Cyn, hope you are still enjoying your time with your old friends.

Not much going on here, just odd and ends. Got the boat out of the marina yesterday and getting it ready for winter storage today. That's about it. Have a peaceful and af Hump Day.
    Dill

Dill, the school has a good reputation & has been there for 35 years. They provide pre-school & pre-K classes & extended daycare for those kids if needed. The plan was to have her do this pre-K year there & then after school care next year when she goes to the public school Kindergarden. Looks like that plan is shot to hell.
The only reason given for her dismissal was 'too much crying'. Ridiculous!
I admit she is not always 'easy going'. She can be super stubborn (like me) & overly dramatic (like her other grandmother). You would think this school, which is actually a 'child development center' would be able to work with these issues. The whole thing is just very annoying I am grateful to be able to help out even though I have to change my life around....just a bit, ha ha!

      Pauly, are you around?

        Good morning...

Wow, Lav, your poor daughter! To have no warning, and just to have her dismissed. I wonder about the place and feel badly for all involved. You are so sweet to turn your life around for your family. I would not be in the position to do that. Hey, how is the weather in your neck of the woods. It is really cooling off here so get ready. I love it.

Dill, sounds like a lovely day. Hope today is good too.

Cyn, waiting to hear about your trip.

Pauly, hope things are going well.

        Have a good one.

          Good morning friends,

          Yep, it's sunny & a cool 45 degrees here ~ nice

Just received a text from my daughter. They are tracking down some alternative preschool & childcare arrangements. What a pain, huh?
I feel bad because this is obviously distracting her from her studies. I do have faith that it will all work out.

Hope you have a great day Star!
          Greetings Dill, Cyn & Pauly.

Let's all have a wonderful AF Thursday!

            Hi Friends,

Lav, I would encourage your daughter to arrange a meeting with her daughter's now former preschool teacher and administrator to get to the bottom of what was going on. It seems it would be helpful to find out what was actually happening at school to try to get a better understanding of what is troubling your granddaughter that is causing "too much crying". That is just too vague and you don't want to find a new school and have a similar experience. If they have a good reputation then it seems they would have some insights and suggestions. I can't believe there wasn't a meeting set up prior to the dismissal to try to problem solve. Something doesn't add up!

Star, I hope your Monday funk has left you by now. Any plans for the weekend? Hopefully you'll get to spend some time with your little grandson.

            Cyn and Pauly, greetings.
            Dill

You bet it doesn't add up Dill!
The school administrator met my daughter in the hallway & just dropped the bomb on her.
The thing is my daughter had taken Lily for an evaluation by a psychologist last week to see if there were any real concerns. The psychologist said she is fine but would work on helping her develop better coping mechanisms. The school was contacted by the psychologist for more information & then suddenly she was dismissed. They are hiding something for sure.
The good news is my daughter & son-in-law toured a new school today & filled out an application. In the meantime I am happy to watch her & I am introducing some new coping mechanisms. I am working on getting her to understand that not everything is a big problem. Most problems are little & don't require ctying or freaking out, LOL She was fine again all day with me.

Looks like we may be getting the first frost of teh season this weekend.
I was out clearing out a perennial flower bed after dinner & was stung twice in one hand OUCH
I guess the bees were planning to stay warm in the dead blooms or something - oh boy!

Hello Friends, it looks like a day for quick check ins!

Lav, it is so great that you have been able to pitch in for your daughter and granddaughter. I hope she gets settled in to her new day care quickly and has a better experience. So sorry to hear about your stings! OUCH. It's likely they were yellow jackets more so than honey bees. You ought to go out there and sit and watch to see if you can see them coming and going and from where. They commonly have nests in the ground. We just came across one the other day that had actually been attacked and completely dug up by some nocturnal critter. Skunks, raccoons, possums all will eat the larvae and pollen. Their fur protects them from the stings. They are so nasty and mean!

Cyn, I just got my copy of The Strangle Queen from the library. That's the second book in the Druon series. It has a forward written by George R.R. Martin.

                      Pauly, how's it going?

Star, Hope you have a good weekend and get to enjoy some family time.

I've been busy today around here doing seasonal chores. Beautiful weather again today but the cold is coming this weekend. Hopefully after we get thru it we'll have and extended Indian Summer, seen clearly with af eyes.

Well, granddaughter has gone home for the weekend but she will be back Sunday night for week two, ha ha. They are awaiting acceptance at the new school they toured & liked. Keeping my fingers crossed that this process won't take too long. I don't mind keeping her here but she really needs to play & learn with kids her age

Dill, I saw the bees & they were they were just tiny looking things that you wouldn't expect to be stinging types. My hand is still a bit swollen but not nearly as bad as it was this morning - thank goodness. I hope the buggers get knocked off when the frost hits tonight or tomorrow night.
Glad you are staying busy & out of trouble, ha ha, just kidding!!

Pauly, good to see you & hope everything is OK.

                        Have a nice night all!

                          Good morning all...

I didn't follow weight watcher the last few days and have to go get weighed. Darn. This is why I quit in the past. This time I will go, face the humiliation, and try to do better. I made cuban sliders, a new recipe, and they were delicious but not low cal. So, I blew it bad. Good news. My eyes are good, it was the new contacts that hurt them, so I went back to the old prescription and yesterday was fine. I am so happy to have them back, I just don't like wearing glasses all the time. It is cooler here, and I love it, back in all my boots, fun.

Lav, hope your granddaughter finds a daycare that is a better fit. My grandson's daycare gives a daily report, and discusses it with the parent. How could they have given no warning? I hope she wasn't treated mean. Glad she can heal with grandma for a little while.

Dill, nice day, huh? Yes, it is getting colder as we speak. Time to get the warm sweaters out. Is the book you talked about like Game of Thrones? I am reading a few books at the same time right now. ONe, M Train, is not that good, and I was really looking forward to reading it. Another that I got on kindle for 99 cents is well written, interesting, and I did not expect to like that book much so you just never know.

Pauly, so good to hear from you, hope you are feeling better, back on the path you want to be on. PM me any time if you want.

Cyn, hope you are doing well. I heard it was going to snow in some parts of New England. Tell me it isn't so.

                          Have a good one.

                            Good morning friends,

Sunny & 39 degrees here, brisk
This weather really helps me sleep better, thank goodness.

Star, hope the weigh-in isn't too bad. It is hard to stay focused on weight loss & I think we need more exercise as we age due to lagging metabolisms, ugh. I only made it to Curves one day this past week because I had my granddaughter here. At least I did some running around with her

Greetings Dill, Cyn the traveler & Pauly.
I hope everyone has a fabulous AF Saturday!

Is there any way you could postpone her visit for a while - at least until you feel stronger? I understand you are worried about it & wish things could be easier for you
