    Good morning ladies,

We loved the Zuchinni Crockpot Soup and here is the link: Slow Cooker Zucchini Soup Recipe - Allrecipes.com
We used ground turkey, (rather than pork) that had been spiced up by the butcher, and it was lighter then it looked. Really tasty and enough for tonight.

Dill, the colors from the light, sunrise and sunset are beautiful right now. I have been enjoying them too. I have not been able to spend much time outside though, work is busy. I have been to Sedone and the red rock formations are beautiful and amazing. Too many psychics, but lots of fun things to do besides that. If you get a chance, go.

Lav, have fun at your craft show! Your recipe sounds good. Sorry your SIL is moving closer. Hopefully she will leave you alone.

Pauly, hope you start sleeping better. You sound like you could really use some time off. Any chance of that happening soon? I am looking forward to Thanksgiving in a few weeks. I would love to be able to just do what I want for a few days after the feast!

    Have a good one.

Good morning friends, happy Hump day!

It looks like a very nice day shaping up around here with plenty of sun & mild temps ~ nice

Thanks for the recipe Star. I think I'll make it myself but reduce the salt quite a bit for us hypertensives around here, ha ha!

Greetings to Dill, Pauly & Cyn!
I hope everyone has a wonderful AF day. I'm off to Curves soon to get this day going in the right direction.

Hi all - did I not post yesterday? I thought I did...but with Mr Free-for-all here, it's a dizzying pace, and I'm not really sure WHAT day it is. He's headed back to his rental today, so I will reclaim my schedule once again. HaHa!

Star - thanks for the soup recipe - I'll be trying that! Lav, Dill - Sweet potato/chickpea curry recipes, please. I have done some crockpot dinners recently, and it really is a joy to have food ready at the end of my work day. Then all the cooking and cleaning I have to do in the evening is for the dogs' food! So, calling all great crock-pot recipes, especially if they don't have nightshade (tomato, potato, peppers, eggplant) as a super-main ingredient.

I went to a town 40 minutes away yesterday to meet with a Dentist that specializes in TMJD and other jaw issues. Seems that I've been clenching/grinding my teeth at night. I know that I clench during the day! He's a wonderful dentist, so I'm thrilled to have someone that understands all the issues going on with my mouth/head muscles, what a big help. Have to get fitted for a mouth guard next, waaaa.

Off now to drive again a ways away to get my test results for the other bloodwork. Hoping that there is some useful info there, we'll see.

Lav - good job on the Crafts Fair, I'm sure that was a lot to get together! Pauly - hang in there, I remember when I lived in the desert, and November finally eventually brought cooler temps...hope you get the new daylight schedule to agree with your body!

Will be working late tonight, I can tell! More tomorrow - have a good one, all -

Quick check in for me today.

Cyn, here's the recipe I used. Of course I tweeked it to our tastes, but it is a good recipe. I don't think you would have to use the tomato puree, but even so, it didn't seem like much in the over all recipe. Sorry you are having teeth grinding issues!
Slow Cooker Sweet Potato and Chickpea Curry Recipe

Star, that recipe looks like winner. I will try it soon. It reminded me of the Irish Coddle you posted one time. That was a huge hit here!

Lav, hope you had a nice day. This weather is unbelievable! I've actually been cleaning windows...in November!

Pauly, I'm getting used to the time change too. I guess we have to accept that the days are going to keep getting shorter for another 6 weeks or so. Ugh!

Have a peaceful af Hump Day evening everyone.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Pauly, I have to leave the house at 6:45 in the morning to get to my daughter's house - it's DARK! Glad it's only one day/week, ha ha!!

Cyn, there's lots of recipes on Pinterest but here's the one I use:
Coconut Sweet Potato Curry | One Ingredient Chef
I hope your test results are OK

Dill, my windows need to be washed & I should be doing them but..........
I seem to find everything & anything else to do. Maybe I'll get to some this weekend. The weather has been awesome.

Well, I'll check in later after I arrive at my granddaughter's in the morning.
              Peace to all!

                Good morning ladies...

Happy to share the slow cooker recipe, it was even better last night! We had a salad with it and it was perfect. The weather here is beautiful, 70s and sunny again, but when I drove home, the sun was setting, so it is getting dark out sooner. I wish this warm weather could stay for a few more weeks. It's so easy.

Lav, have fun with granddaughter, the beauty of being retired.

Cyn, I have a really good crockpot white chili recipe: Slow Cooker White Bean Chicken Chili Verde - Maebells
Oh my gosh it is really good. I hate chopping at 6:30 am, but boy is it worth it after work. Hope your health issues get resolved, it is really tough not feeling well.

Pauly, in the Midwest we often get temperature changes and I just have sweaters and wear layers to cope! I love the desert in the winter, it is really beautiful. Hope you are starting to feel better. I am looking forward to a little time off at Thanksgiving and Christmas, I need it. I know that time is probably your really busy season though, so maybe after the first of the year.

Dill, reading a book I downloaded for free or a buck, The Handfasted Wife, about Edith Swan something at the time of the Norman Invasion, 1066, really fascinating. I get Bookbub daily and often download books for free or low cost.

                Have a good one.

                        Greetings friends!

Had a much better commute this week primarily due to the daylight
I will likely encounter the datkness on the way home but that's OK.

Hello to Star, Pauly,mDill & Cyn.
i have a fridge full of leftovers so there will be no kitchen fussing for me tonight, LOL

I hear it's heading up to 70 today, nice!
Have a great AF day everyone!

                          Hello all -

Thanks for the recipes! Great to have them, and also to have some new food websites to visit.

Lav - so glad you had some light on one part of your journey. How is gdaughter doing? How is the gson that was having problems?

Star - I love the sound of that book - let us know if you continue to like it. As you know, I partial to historical fiction.

Pauly - I lived for 8 years in AZ. Not my thing, the desert. I love 4 season, the cool, and even love snow! Right now, however, I could live without so many broadleaf trees in my yard - holy cow, it is a bumper crop of leaves and acorns this year (which I hear means that in 2 summers, we'll be having a bumper crop of ticks, oh joy.)

Dill - how are you doing? Hope all is well. It was interesting to have a little update on your ex-DIL. It is SO sad, how these substances grab us and ruin lives. I'm so glad to be on the other path.

Lav - how is your nephew's wife - the one with MS? I hope that she's getting some good care...

Is anyone else having major sugar cravings? I eat very little refined sugar (like, next to none) and I can look at a piece of chocolate cake and think it's poison. But lately, I've been having a lot of sugar cravings...want to head those off at the pass. Maybe it's the body calling out for serotonin, since the light has changed...not sure, but I don't want to go there!

Wishing all a great AF Thursday -

Cyn, I have just been hungry and it has to be the time change and less liight. Yes, I love the book, women were really used badly back then. Glad I live now.

Pauly, crock pot recipes are the best, then you don't have to cook when you come home. Plus, the food is so delicious.

Hello to Dill and Lav. I am off early today. Have a good one.

                              Hello all,

Star, thanks for the mention of bookbub! I signed up for emails. This is one of the best things about our little group here. I learn so much that I would not otherwise!

Lav, was yesterday the craft show? If so, how did it go?

Pauly, you sound like you are content with the climate where you live. I am like Cyn and enjoy having seasons that are markedly different. Even tho I complain about them, I love them! LOL.

Cyn, I am doing well, thanks for asking. I wish I could do more for my ex-DIL, but it is what it is. Speaking of substances that ruin lives, I heard last night at my drug coalition meeting that there is a new one competing with heroin in our county in OD deaths called fentanyl. I had never even heard of that one. Have you? Has anyone else here? Lav?

"Into every life a little rain must fall." And so after a spate of awesome weather and outdoor productivity, I woke today to rain. Hopefully not all day. Also, I don't know if I had mentioned that I saw signs of a mouse in one of my upstairs bedrooms. I set traps but when I went back to check I saw that the bait was gone but the trap was still set! Ugh! So we reset them and added a few more. I'm happ to say we caught one last night! I'm leaving the traps set for a while. This is one of the biggest down-sides of living in an old 19th century farmhouse. They are almost impossible to mouseproof!

Have a wonderful af Friday all.

                                Good morning friends, happy Friday!

Super cloudy here but heading up to 72 degrees!

Cyn, I am not having sugar cravings but I do seem to just be hungry more, ha ha! I swear this is some natural instinct that we're dealing with to pack on winter pounds for warmth, ha ha!!! I have been trying to distract myself from food with decaf flavored tea!!
My granddaughter is doing very well in her new preschool & is happier than ever. I am grateful for that.
My grandson is still working his behavior issues at his preschool. I'm not so sure that the sticker chart impresses him all that much. Good old fashioned hard cold cash & bribes are more his style, ha ha!
My nephew's wife is having a hard time. They are moving into a smaller, one level place this week. She has been told to stop driving since she's developed some cardiac related issues. Very sad situation there.

Star, I hope you have a good day!

Dill, I hear you on the mouse situation in old houses!! Boy did we ever have them when we first moved into our old place. We worked furiously to plug up any & all openings in the foundation to keep them out.
Fentanyl was supposed to be used to deal with severe pain when everything else failed. Think end of life, cancer related pain. The problem is the stupid doctors who prescribe it for less severe situations & end up getting people hooked! If these drugs were prescribed & managed correctly we wouldn't be seeing so many brand new addictions. Ugh!

Hi there Pauly, how are you today?

I am heading out to Curves soon then back here for some work. Nothing real exciting on my game plan. The craft show continues until Monday!!
Have a great AF day everyone!
