    Good Friday evening!

Just a quick note to say I'm thinking of you all. Great to read all the news. Long productive day for me today - just finished the dog and human cooking, dinner and the dinner dishes. Mr Tree is here tonight, and is anxiously awaiting my attendance to watch "Madam Secretary"'s last episode with him (Netflix - we no longer get cable or regular TV).

So I'm off to watch, but just want to say hi to all - wishing you a great AF Friday night...

      Good morning,

Had a great day yesterday, got so much bought for Christmas, today house duties and and little R & R this afternoon. It is so warm we cooked out steaks. Isn't that crazy? I think it is going to be even warmer this weekend. It makes it so easy without snow.

      Have a good one.

        Hello All,

Star, me too! I had a very productive shopping day yesterday, even tho I was with a gf. I had lots to buy and so did she so when we got inside the stores we split up and did our own things then met up at the check out. We got a really early start, too, so we could beat the crowds. We were done and eating lunch when stores were getting really crowded.
How great to be able to grill in December!

Lav, how about you? Do you feel like you are ready for Christmas? I still have more to buy, but I'm getting there. My daughter and her family aren't coming until January 8th, so I have plenty of time to get their things bought.

Cyn, you don't get TV or cable? How do you keep up with local and world news? We still get satelite tv and netflix as well. I haven't seen Madam Secretary but am planning on it after we get thru the series we are watching now which is called Broadchurch. Do you like Madam Secretary?

Pauly, how are things out your way?

Mr. D has a bad cold but we are still going to let little gdaughter come if her dad says it's ok. Mr. D will just be careful and wash his hands alot! The weather is so warm I am hoping grandson comes too.
        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Hi all - happy late afternoon - though it looks like evening outside! Just finished another big cook-off; SD is working hard today, and has been under a lot of stress, so I thought she might need some good food choices close at hand (she has an autoimmune disease, and isn't always able/inclined to make good choices.) I'll keep for myself a little of what I made, so that makes it even more worth while. Her Dad will take it to her tomorrow when they meet for brunch. I'm staying home!

I'm sitting in the living room now, with 2 peacefully sleeping dogs, enjoying the fireplace. (Remember that I didn't like the idea - too expensive, and gas, not a 'real' fireplace? Well, I am very grateful for it now!)

Lav - I'm sure YB wouldn't be up for it, but according to my Chinese medicine person, tinnitus means something is out of balance in the system. (Well for sure, we know that about YB...) I do well with acupuncture, and when my tinnitus was bad, she was able to get it to disappear. Good luck with tuning out the complaining!

Dill - I don't miss network shows or news at all. I never watched anything even when we had it, which is why we dropped it. I can't bear the endless talking, opinion-izing as if they are reporting facts, etc. drives me crazy. Also I don't care for the endless advertisements, so I'm just happier this way! Mr T reads all his news on his iPad - NYTimes and all the major news outlets. I listen to NPR All Things Considered in the evening as I cook, and they have in-depth reporting that I like - in the mornings our little 'smallest-NPR station in the Nation' has a news feed from the BBC, which is great to get an international read on current and worldwide events. So far it doesn't seem as if I am missing anything. We do have Netflix, so when Mr is around, he likes me to join him to watch a show or two. Try Madam Secretary - the acting isn't as good as Broadchurch, but it is interesting. Last night we watched the first episode of Broadchurch - wow! I haven't seen anything that good since 'Prime Suspect' decades ago...I kept thinking about the plot, even in the middle of the night.

Star - so glad that you are feeling like the holiday things are coming together - good for you!

Pauly - wishing you an easier time of it all.

Take care, and wishing all a great AF Saturday night --

                Good morning...

Sittiing here peacefully having my first cup of coffee. So great to feel healthy and well-rested, it never gets old. Yesterday I went to a gym we just joined and walked on the treadmill for 25 minutes, and that was enough for me. Then sauna, which felt good. I shopped, it was nuts, but got alot done. I just can't believe how much work Christmas is, we still have not wrapped and have a few more things to get. I also ordered some stuff in the mail, I hope it comes soon. I am so grateful this year to be able to buy what I want for my family, have a home to decorate, and being able to celebrate Christmas Eve in my home.

I saw that Kuya was back and have been reading her info on the 3Principles and in fact ordered a book. It makes sense to me, I don't get all of it but know enough that our thoughts determine our life and we can guide our thoughts into pathways that are positive and productive. Lav focused on her thoughts in early times to gratitude and focusing on the present, reporting that with practice she has become less stressed and happier. I have been doing the same and it has make a huge difference in my life. Interesting.

Lav, hope your busy day turned out good.

Dill, yay for getting shopping done earlier in the day. Enjoy your granddaughter. So many people have colds at my office, I just keep telling myself I have a strong immune system and wash my hands lots.

Cyn, I love a fireplace, and gas is the best. It's real and easy. I have an electric one and it is so much better than nothing, but it is so warm here right now, no need for it. Glad you could relax.

Pauly, you can always share with us if you like, hope things will go better today.

                Have a good one.

Hi all - quick morning hello! I just finished my morning meditation - YES, I have been doing them pretty consistently, and I think it is really helping.

Lav - so sorry you lost your post! Star - so good to hear where you are 'residing' in your life now - great. Dill - watched the 2nd Broadchurch episode last night...sheesh, that's addictive. Pauly - please come share, whatever you're feeling.

I'll be attending a community play in a town about an hour away this afternoon; all the actors are from within the community and friends of mine directed it and made the sets. It doesn't get more Holiday-homey than that! Here's wishing you all a great Sunday. Remember to breathe, right? To the light...

                      Good morning...

Back to work for me after a lovely three day weekend. Presents are wrapped, just a few more things to get and then the food for Christmas Eve. Love this warmer weather, but I think over the week we may be in for a change, raining all day today.

Cyn, the play sounds wonderful, bet you had a good time. Any plans this week?

Lav, isn't the warm weather such a great break? I love it. Any ideas for healthy appetizers? I bet you are hosting either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Hello to Dill and Pauly. Have a great Monday.

Hello friends, sorry for my absence yesterday. The day just got away from me. Little granddaughter was here overnight and she got up at 6:00 am just minutes after I did. That was why I couldn't post in the morning. We had some company in the afternoon and my son visited for awhile when he came to pick her up. After everyone left and things were settling down in the evening, I was just exhausted!

Cyn, I watched the 8th Broadchurch last night and the killer was revealed. Don't worry, no spoiler here! The acting in that series is really excellent. There is another series that is good but it is dark and somewhat guesome. It's a murder mystery and the acting in that series is really great, as is the character development. I recommend it if you can handle the grizzly stuff.

Star, I haven't got anything wrapped. I wanted to do that yesterday, but never had an opportunity. I'll get busy with that today. I haven't decided what to make for dinner on Christmas. I'm leaning towards ham and sweet potatoes.

Lav, You sound like you are really busy lately. I hope it's all good stuff. Do you have extra orders during the holiday season?

Pauly, stop in and share, even if it's "drama". We don't have a zero tolerance policy! A certain amount of drama can't be avoided.

Have a great af Monday everyone.

                            Good Monday morning friends,

We have dense fog here but it's going to be another fairly mild day. Certainly not your typical pre-Christmas weather. We enjoyed watching Santa arrive on a fire truck yesterday with our granddaughter. Everyone was in short sleeves, no jackets. The Budweiser Clydesdales pulling a wagon loaded with beer & a Christmas tree was a huge hit, ha ha!!

                            Hello & welcome Kozmix!

Tell us a little about yourself when you are ready.

Star, I am having my family here Christmas eve. I am slowly but surely moving away from some of the older traditional foods - too heavy. I actually haven't nailed down a menu yet.
I really like my homemade hummus & bean spreads served with veggies & multigrain crackers. Let me go thru my Pinterest page & grab some appetizer ideas for you.

Dill, you have been busy too with the grandkids & holiday preparations.
I have been keeping up with the extra work orders, trying to keep everyone happy. At some point this week I will say 'enough' & not take on any new work, ha ha. I need time to get my holiday put together as well.

                            Hello to Cyn & Pauly!

Have a great AF Monday everyone!
