Good morning...
I have been going to sleep earlier, waking up in the middle of the night, usually able to get back to sleep. I have been very busy this week so don't know why I am not sleeping through. I allowed myself to get really upset yesterday afternoon, and it hung on. I just could not shake it. One thing was resolved, the other was not as big a deal as I made it. So, I have not followed my eating plan and continue to feel heavy and old. Yuck. I wish I could go to a fat farm for a week or so just to get a jump start, but that is not going to happen. I have a three day weekend and I am trying to plan a really good eating plan to feel a difference. So Pauly, I get where you are coming from. We just have to do the best we can, it is already almost the middle of January.
Lav, I get the bucket list thing. I have been starting to think of that a bit, the first thing is to get my body healthier and fit, then I would like to travel a bit. However, having my family close and good relationship is really a priority for me. With both parents gone, other family far away, it can be really lonely. Where would you like to travel to if you could? I would love to go to Europe, Eastern US and California.
Dill, my son is a hard worker, and I am so proud of him, thanks. He will be moving next week, going home today to pack and wrap things up. New beginnings for all of us.
Cyn, I bet your doggie is so happy to be home. You are such a devoted pet owner! Yes, I started the Kabat Zinn program on my own, and have been lucky enough to participate in Mindfulness Meditation groups on occasion, which I loved. Once I trained/conditioned myself to relax, I never lost the skill, and it is a skill.
Have a great Thursday.

Lav, thanks for letting us know where you're headed today. Sheesh, today you couldn't sleep in even if you wanted to. Your daughter must be just like you with her patients - compassionate and clearheaded. I bet she'll experience a lot this week. I'm glad she has you as a sounding board.
Star - sorry things 'got away' from you yesterday. I'm sure the resilience that you built with MBSR has helped you through a lot of things. Good luck to your son! Has he found the place that he will move into?
Dill - hope you are well. I'm seeing gorgeous stars in the middle of the night... like a Hollywood set. I love to see the waxing moon grow from such a tiny sliver.
Pauly - good job killing those ANTS. They are only thoughts! You are exercising your positive muscles!
Sleep has been an issue this week for me as well - Sunday night we were up all night driving to the 2 different emergency clinics; finally checking into a hotel at 5 AM, once doggy was in surgery. Then up with the other dog the in between nights as he was undone by his sissy being gone, but last night at least she was home. I slept on a couch by where we had her bed, and it all worked out great. So far so good!
Sending lots of positive light to all --

Morning friends,Star I have been trying to watch my eating too but I put what I eat into the fitbit app and I'm still over the calorie limit! Irritated because I used to graze on a donut, chips or something else at work and I've cut that out do portion control and still over,I swear the only way I can lose weight is not eating,I'd try that diet where you only eat 500 calories a day for a couple of days then eat whatever on the other days but with my blood sugar issues I'd probably end up in prison cuz I assaulted someone Hahahaha! I get too "hangry" as they call it these days, I did so good this month on paying billsonly the 14th and everything is paid! That's one of my goals this year too, plus I've been getting at least 10,000 steps a day another goal,so even though I'm a grump here and there I'm still getting it done woo-hoo,if I could go anywhere in Europe it would be London, anywhere in the US would be Miami, probably hate both but they're my fantasy locations, hello Lav,Dill and Cyn let's make this a great day,I read to appreciate each day cuz even if it sucks ,it still had SOME good points
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

Good morning friends!
I am at my granddaughter's house with a very happy little girl
Cold but sunny in these parts, still no snow & that's OK. Just heard it's going to warm up & rain this weekend, strange.
Still didn't sleep much last night, don't even know why. I will just stick with my current eating & exercise routines, can't think of anything to change at the moment. There's so much in the news about the importance of getting adequate sleep but so many of us fall short.
Star, I pretty much gave up hope & shelved the whole bucket list thing years ago. It was too depressing hoping & wishing for YB to get on board with my wishes. He is simply not interested in the same adventures I would like so what's the point? I try to find happiness in the small things with the kids & I do. I just feel like I've been cheated out of some grownup stuff, if you know what I mean. I hope today is good for you!
Cyn, you must be feeling relieved now that the medical emergency has been resolved.
I hope you can catch up on missed sleep as well
Pauly, some days there are more ANTS to kill than other days! Trust me, Ibtotally get that, ha ha!!!! Just keep at it, you won't be sorry!
Hello to Dill, hope you are having a good day!
Ok, back to today's fun? Have a great AF day everyone!

Hello All, just a quick fly by for me. Actually more like a crawl by. I caught a nasty stomach bug and have been laid pretty low. I'm taking it easy and babying myself. Trying a little broth right now but feeling chilled and tired. I hope you all stay well. I'll look in tomorrow and hope to feel better. Thanks for all the great posts.Dill

Good morning...
Dill, so sorry you got a stomach bug, yuck, I hate that. Hopefully you will feel better today.
Lav, regarding bucket lists, I wish I had a girlfriend to travel with to places my husband would not be interested. Right now though, that is not a priority.
Pauly, I always go over my calorie quota at dinner, I have to be really strict to keep within the limits and feel weak at that time, the witching hour of old times.
Cyn, you have had a crazy week, must feel great to sleep at home.
Yay, it is Friday, and a three day weekend for me. Have a good one.

Good morning friends, happy Friday!
Cold but sunny here, not bad
Nothing super special on my to do list today so I hope to catch up with some cleaning & organizing jobs around here. It's so easy to ignore all that when you're otherwise occupied, ha ha!
I am starting off with a trip to Curves of course.
Star, enjoy your 3 day weekend, sounds perfect!
Dill, I sure hope you are feeling better today.
Cyn & Pauly, have a marvelous AF day!

Woo-hoo! I'm back on top of the world! LOL! To be sure, that bug made me feel worse than a run-of-the-mill hangover, but it sure did remind me of all those mornings I'd wake up wondering why I had put myself in so much misery voluntarily (more or less). So grateful for good health!
Lav, thanks for the sympathy last night. At the end of the day I had a good old fashioned bowl of chicken noodle soup and a sierra mist for dinner from our local small town restaurant. I could only eat half of it, but it was delicious.
Star, thanks for your good wishes. I hear you on the witching hour and eating. It's funny after all this time it's still a factor. Perhaps the witching hour exhists for everyone but we just got off track on how we dealt with it by starting with wine instead of good healthy food or perhaps a sweet beverage like sweet tea or cranberry juice.
Cyn, I'm noticing the light more and more these days too. This morning's sunrise was subtle pinks and blues on the underside of clouds. Goregeous!
Pauly, well done on getting those bills paid! That's a good feeling and one less piece of stress which could possibly put you off track.
OK, thinking of joining weight watchers. Any comments? If I do, I am pretty sure I'll join online only. I can easily see myself resenting having to go to a meeting if I am not in the mood.
I am astounded at how many famous folks have passed here at the beginning of the year. I think that is a phenomenon that takes place every year among famous and not famous. I wonder at it. There must be some thing in play psychologically. I was saddened yesterday by Alan Rickman's death (Severace Snape in Potter movies).
Have a great AF Friday everyone. Stay well!Dill

Morning all!
Second night of sleeping on the couch by my little girl, but it went fine. She is doing better each day, remarkable!
Dill - dear me, so sorry you got sick! So glad to hear that you are OK! Good job on the quick recovery.
Pauly - great job with the bills! That is amazing. I just spent all of yesterday figuring out how to get through June. We are contract workers here, so cash flow is always an issue... I had to put on my 'serious planning' hat! And I love that you are still getting after those ANTS - at least that keeps us in the moment, right?
Lav - so sorry about your sleep. I also have been very restless and light-sleeping; not so good, but what can you do? The osteopath here recommends the Extra Sleepy-Time Tea (comes in a blue box). My neighbor has had sleep issues her whole life - she uses this tea before bed, and says that it really helps her...
Star - glad to hear that you have a 3-day weekend. Enjoy!
It's been windy and BITTER cold recently, but the sun is shining today and the 2 inches of snow really makes everything seem brighter. Have a great AF Friday, all!

Well - I haven't died yet, guess that's a good thing. It is strange how these things always happens in threes....
Cyn, glad your doggie is doing OK.
I actually had that tea before bed last in (in addition to my usual handful of herbals & Benadryl) & slept until just before 7 am - nice!
We are in the process of making changes & plans re money considering YB's upcoming retirement (again). I don't get panicky about this stuff but he sure does. He had better calm down if he knows what's good for him - just sayin'
Dill, great on the quick recovery!
I highly recommend chicken soup for most ailments. No time to waste being sick, ugh!
Pauly, the only thing I can say about these deaths this week is that at least they are no longer suffering. I just hope when my time comes that I can go quickly.
Looks like I will be keeping my granddaughter overnight Sunday. Her daycare is closed Monday & both of her parents have to work. I'll find something fun for us to do.
Peace to everyone tonight.AF since 03/26/09

Good morning...
Lav, I took Benedryl too last night, slept really well, what a relief. I don't like to take it much though as it is a drying out med and it is dry enough in winter. you and your granddaughter will have so much fun!
Cyn, I need to plan out my budget too! We have more stability now that we moved and it does make things easier to know what is coming in.
Dill, you are so much better, good! Take care of yourself. Weight Watchers is alot like My Fitness Pal, a free app you can download, that tracks your food intake after assessing your height, weight, activity level. I like it cause it is free. I am restarting to track my calories again. I reallly got off track after my friend died, and now want to get back on monitoring myself. Just another idea, Weight Watcher's is a great program.
Pauly, glad you slept well, it really makes a difference.
I am going to work out this morning, some errands and then the grocery store for just a few days. I still need to clean the house and I am reading a good book. Yay! So some work and then free time! Have a good one.
