    Good morning, all!

Dill - thanks for starting us out, and for that amazing quote! Yes, love and compassion are the watchwords for 2016...

Sorry to be out of touch these last days, it was really a race to the finish with traveling back and forth and getting a dinner party together for 6 people last night. Whew, that part's over. Now looking forward to a quiet-ish day, and just one more festive meal to get together, which I'm pretty ready for.

I'm wishing everyone a compassionate New Year filled with deep breaths and lots of self-respect. Thank you all for being on this journey that we travel together. Cheers!

          Happy New Year! 2016!

I had a really bad day yesterday, trying to work through some grief. This is hitting me really hard. New Year's Eve just stayed home and fell asleep early. New Year's Day cried alot, cleaned a bit, went to lunch with my daughter who was really sweet. Hopefully today is a better day, I have to get through the funeral on Monday. Sorry this is all about me, but right now this is the best I can do. Have a good one.

            Good morning friends,

It's a freezing 27 degrees here at the moment - winter has arrived!
Nothing special planned for today, will see what happens.

Star, I am really sorry you are missing your friend
It is especially difficult when we lose someone suddenly. I hope your abundant memories sustain you for now & know that she would want you to suffer. Take care of yourself & know that we are with you in spirit.

Hello to Dill, Pauly & Cyn!
I hope everyone has a pleasant AF day. Nothing on my plan book so far, maybe just some work.

              Good evening all -

Star - so sorry for your grief - I will read back in the December thread, I didn't know that you had lost a friend. Oh dear, every new grief calls up the echoes of loss as well as the fresh startling loss - sending you hugs. So glad you could spend some time with your daughter.

I got HB and our house guest off to the airport this afternoon, then came inside and promptly took a 2-hour nap. It's been such a whirlwind, and being responsible for people and food and festivities wore me down a bit. HB is out of town now for nearly a week, so I'll be able to find center again. And sleep a lot! Duly noted, Lav --

Sending everyone warmest AF wishes for tonight --

                Hi All,
Star, I wish I could help you thru your grief. Like Lav says, your memories may help sustain you. But this is definitely going to be a hard one. They say you can't choose your family, which is true, but I've often thought of my good friends as the family I got to choose! You'll feel the loss of this dear friend since you were in near daily contact with her. My heart goes out to you.

Lav, did you have anything develop as the day wore on? I had my gd overnight last night so today was quite a busy day. We got her some melty beads for Christmas so today we spent time making little melty bead craft projects. Lots of fun!

Hi Pauly, I didn't watch Dick Clark or anything on New Year's Eve. I'm almost ashamed to admit it but I was in bed at 9:30 that night! However, I was listening to an audiobook, so that was at least something.

Hello Cyn, is you final festive meal history now? I am so ready to be back to routine! However, that is not to be for us until January 11th as my daughter and her family will be in for a visit later this week. Looking forward to it tho!

Have a peaceful af Saturday night everyone.

                Lav,
                Dill

Enjoy the peaceful house Cyn - good for you!

dill, believe it or not my daughter, granddaughter & SIL came for a visit, stayed for dinner AND my grandsons were dropped off for dinner & just left around 9 pm. So, yes, things did indeed develop around here. Lots & lots of fun & noise!!
Glad you had some nice crafty time with your granddaughter

                  Star, thinking about you tonight.

                  Peace to all this evening.

                    Good morning...

Had a better day yesterday, exercised and had to go to the mall for a few things so got out. Today a baby shower and tomorrow the funeral. Just making it through each day. Thanks for the support.

                      Morning all -

Star, good to hear that you engaged in some self-care. So sorry for all the emotion - my goodness, what a breadth of life you are experiencing; a baby shower and then remembering your friend... Thinking of you --

Lav and Dill - wow, lots of family and festivities. I admire how you 'roll' with it all so well...

Pauly - I hope that your family time has continued to be good and happy.

Wishing all well -- don't forget to nurture yourselves -- breathe -- to the Light...

Hi all - my post seems to be showing up in the 'advanced' mode, but not on the thread itself. I'll leave it for now - maybe it will post itself later. I wrote a second one, but then both versions showed up....
                        More later...

                          Good Sunday morning friends!

Freezing cold but sunny, 'tis the season

Star, I hope you have a good day out with friends celebrating a new life about to begin

Cyn, I am so grateful to be able to switch into complete grandma mode with little to no advance warning, ha ha!
All of this is possible because of the decision I made nearly 7 years ago. You have to take care of yourself first, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind.
I hope you have a pleasant & relaxing day.

                          Greetings to Dill & Pauly!

Have a wonderful AF Sunday everyone.
I am going to get my shop organized so I can begin a larger job that's waiting for me

                              Hello all,

Cyn it sounds like some gremlins are taking over your posts! Yesterday I had to rub my eyes bc one of your posts appeared that I had not seen so I assumed we had cross posted. When I looked at the time stamp on it it said "yesterday"! I was kind of confused by that one.

Star, Lav, Pauly, greetings to you all. I didn't know that you soak quinoa and that 'soap' came off. Live and learn!

I'm heading into a quiet evening. Downton Abbey comes back on tonight for it's final season. I've heard it's going to be a good one! Have a peaceful af evening everyone.
