    Good morning all...

It is good to be back, but it is a little cold, although no snow for us, thank goodness. Back on the regular eating plan and already dropped a few pounds by eating at home and watching portions. Good grief, I do so much better on a routine.

Pauly, so good you are back and into your now normal way of life, AF. It is just not what it used to be, and AF is so much better. Hope the allergy meds keep working, I was miserable till I took a Claritin last week. I wish I could eat by 3 pm, but we are not home and don't eat till after six. It is just the way it is, but you are right, it is not good to eat so late, we are trying to make it a really light meal.

Lav, we have no plans this Easter, but that is OK with me. If it is nice, I will cook out, and I am making Easter eggs on Saturday, I love having them around the house. The forsythia are beautiful here too, I wish I had some at my new house.

Cyn, I find it easy to mail packages through amazon, then it is not so expensive, but does not have the personal touch.

Dill, how fun to just take off and stay where ever you decide. Fun.

    Have a good one.

      Good morning friends, happy Monday!

Sunny & 32 degrees at the moment. All we ended up with was a light covering of snow, thank goodness. I really was not in the mood for any more, ha ha!

The good news is USPS notified me recently that they are dropping postal rates next month. I print postage here all the time for my biz, the rates have been outrageous.

I am going to get myself to Curves this morning for a change of scenery. Haven't been there since last Tuesday, geez!

Hello to everyone, wishing a great AF day for all.

      Lav
      AF since 03/26/09
      NF since 05/19/09

Morning friends, Star,it does feel good to be back to a sober life,it feels like my drinking didn't even happen, that scares me a little cuz I don't want to fool myself into thinking that its ok once in awhile cuz I rebounded this time ya know? Its been soooo warm here bubs had to hook up the swamp cooler yesterday, went to target yesterday and bought little Bobbi some easter socks,a flower pot that says"you are my sunshine" I used to sing that to her cuz she was my little blond girl and the other kids had dark hair like me and will put her card in and mail it up for Easter,I work right next to a UPS store haha, gonna see what they quote to mail it haha again, that place is outrageous!! Lav,ate bananas an ok thing to eat? I'm trying to follow the candida killing way of eating, I can't do that extreme diet but I figure if I make SOME positive changes it would help? Cyn,Dill hope you two had a nice weekend, alrighty off to do Monday, have a great day
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Pauly, technically no fruits are allowed on the Candida diet.
The complete list of Foods To Avoid on the Candida Diet. To beat Candida, you should avoid added sugars, glutenous grains, and inflammatory foods.

That diet really is rough to follow for more than a day or two. See what you can do to eliminate sugar (even natural sugars) & get into a routine with your probiotic (I take mine 2X/day for a while after a flare-up). It all helps

            Good morning...

Lav, I checked out that website and it looked interesting. I have been really tired since my trip, came home last night and slept after dinner, then all night. I have a feeling it was the bad foods I age while gone. Geez. Today, beautiful out, in the sixties, but windy, and I get to walk to a meeting later today. I am looking forward to it. Hope you enjoyed Curves.

Pauly, hope you feel better and better as you figure out what your body needs. I think that you feel ok regarding the relapse/slip because it didn't last long. If it lasted for weeks or months, it would wear your body down again, and your emotional state. AF is the new normal for all of us and it feels good. Coming here helps us to appreciate what we have adn that is a good thing.

            Hello to Cyn and Dill.

              Hello all,

Star, did you travel to a different time zone last week? If so maybe that, combined with daylight savings, is messing with you and causing you to fee tired. I know what you mean about eating poorly while travelling. It's so nice to be at home and be able to eat what you like and what is good for you! I read another book by Deborah Moggach. I went to her website and saw that the previous one I read, Tulip Fever, has been made into a movie. It's not been released yet, but I will definitely watch it when it is.

Lav, I didn'te even think about how the postage rates would affect you! How do you deal with it? Do you charge it to the customers? I don't understand why it has to be so expensive!

Pauly, I'm glad you are feeling ok but you are right to be careful not to let that cause you let your guard down. And, I used to sing "You Are My Sunshine" to my gdaughter too! Now that you mention it, I wonder why we havent sung it in a while. I bought the grandkks each a toy for Easter and also a new pair of light up paw patrol sneakers for granddaughter. I can't wait to give them to her!

              Hi Cyn.

Let's all have a good AF Tuesday!
              Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

                Good morning all!

Did I not post yesterday? I thought I did, ha. Star - it's hard to be away and hard to come home! I also was past a few time zones, and with daylight savings, my body is really confused --it's taken a week to get back into any kind of a routine. Good luck with that...

I use the Post Office to mail things because I get wacky stuff at the Dollar Store for my niece and nephew's families - 7 kids in all (and one on the way!). I pack it into one of those medium Priority boxes so that I don't have to worry about the weight, but that's still 15 dollars to mail the package. I'm shopping today for Easter stuff - maybe I can find all flat things so that I can use an envelope - with multiple holidays in the year, plus birthdays, this is adding up.

Lav - have been meaning to thank you for a long time for the idea to freeze ginger -- what a brilliant idea! It works just great. HB is joining me this year for spring-cleanse morning 'tonic' drink: ginger/lemon tea. So first thing in the morning, I grate the frozen ginger into the heating water - works better than using fresh, and tastes just as good. Thanks! Also, I have a cookbook of Yotam Ottolenghi- are you familiar with him? - and I have been making his leek/walnut/beet spicy greens salad. Delish!

Pauly - so good to hear you embracing the AF life again. Keep the positive vibes flowing!

Dill -my daffodil greens are up, but no sunny blossoms just yet. Today is supposed to be 50, so I think we'll see a lot of leafing out, and maybe a blossom or two.

I did a little more hacking away at the forsythia yesterday, though it was cold and windy. It's so annoying, with all those long tentacles that are a pain to break down, sheesh, so I've decided that a little bit each day is the way to go. I'm pretty close to done; I want to leave some brush cover for the birds. I saw a pair of bluebirds yesterday!! And the robins have arrived, so it's all good. Spring is definitely on the way...

                Cheers all -

                  Good Tuesday morning friends!

So sad waking up to the news of another terrorist attack in Europe. My desire to do more travel is diminishing. Prayers going out to all those injured & killed.

Star, sugar seems to be the newest villain wreaking our health. Not only is sugar fuel for candida infections, diabetes & metabolic syndrome but now is being blamed for causing some cancers. We really need to break up with sugar, once & for all.

Dill, yes my customers pay postage. I am not in a position to offer free shipping like the big guys.
Light up Paw Patrol sneakers sound pretty cool

Cyn, glad you like the ginger in the freezer idea - it works perfectly! I love to add ginger to my cooking too, YB doesn't like it (tough).
I will have to look for that cookbook, that salad sounds delicious
We are expecting 50 degrees here as well, still no blooms on the daffs.

Pauly, I hope you are OK today!

Have a great AF day everyone. I need to get to Curves.

Morning friends,Cyn,the only time I've dever seen a bluebird in real life was when we lived briefly in Carson city, so amazingly beautiful! I hate birds as pets but they're so great to

look at,when we lived in San Diego there were those little green parrots, they used to sit on the power line outside my bedroom window and squack all morning I wonder if they escaped from a pet store or if they just naturally live in the area? Who knows, would be cool to be a bird and go wherever you want Dill,Louie loves paw patrol too,

Dunno what happened there?? Star,I think its normal to feel tired after a trip, could be the full moon? That's what i'm blaming Lav,i started back on the probiotic I ordered from Amazon today,I had stopped it right before I relapsed thinking that my stuffy nose was die-off or something, been taking EPO and I've liked it but it seems too stimulating, was trying it for PMS and I read its good for allergies but yesterday I felt really anxious in the afternoon, grrr,I'll get this sorted someday, hope we all have a terrific Tuesday

                        Good morning...

Slept poorly so today will be a little tough. At least it is hump day! Daffodils in bloom here, warm and in the 50s and 60s, I really love it!

Lav, the bombing in Europe is terrifying, and I agree about the traveling over there. Scary. So you freeze a piece of ginger, then grate it into your food? Interesting idea.

Dill, sometimes the readjustment after traveling is tough, and this time is the same. However, still glad for the time off.

Cyn, nice to be doing a cleanse, I need something like that.

Pauly, hope your feeling well today.

                        Have a great day!

Good morning friends, happy Hump day!

Hoping for some warm sunshine today, it's about time. I am ready for some outside time

Star, I saw the full moon rise last evening & thought uh oh, ha ha! It usually interferes with my sleep too.
The fresh ginger only holds up so long in the fridge. I read that if you peel it you can store it in a plastic bag in the freezer then just slice or grate it as needed.

Pauly, you mentioned taking EPO. Are you talking about the blood doping protein? Not sure what you were referring to in your post. I wouldn't touch anything like that with a ten foot pole, seriously. The best path to good health is adopting a healthy, no added sugar diet. Eliminate foods that don't agree with you (like I did with dairy) & get some regular exercise.

Hello to Dill & Cyn. I hope everyone has a wonderful AF day!!

                              Hello and happy Hump Day!
Lav, I didn't see the full moon rise so I slept blissfully ignorant of it! LOL. I did see it set this morning tho and it was fabulous!

                              Greetings Star, Pauly and Cyn.

The news out of Belgium is so distressing it's hard to shake it off and it is definitely bringing me down. I think It's time to turn off the TV for a few days. Grateful that I still have the choice to face or not face the cruelty. It's interesting to reflect on cruelty and evil during this Easter week. Let's pray for peace and light a candle for peace and love.

                                Evening, all --

Long (good) day today, and now will be starting some more work this evening in a bit. Lav - I have been anxious to go outside and work as well! I am pretty well done with the rock formation clearing -- I'll try to post a shot of it here. I'll be calling the landscape people to have their team come over and get all this stuff I'm pulling out. That is definitely worth the $$$ - I'm taking down small trees that I can saw through, but when they come down they're 12 feet long! I took hedge clippers to a rock formation covered with bittersweet vines and wild raspberry (grrrr!). At least I've pushed it back so that I can see the rock from the kitchen window! I work outside when I can, and now I'll do the inside/computer work for the evening.

I've been having startling dreams lately too, Pauly -- I wonder if it's the full moon... Star, we're not really doing a cleanse, I just know that lemon/ginger is a good thing for the liver, and springtime is the time to give that a boost, so we're doing it. I'm also drinking green tea for the first time... I've found one that I like. I fix it before I go to bed, and put it in a thermos -- then when the dogs get me up (before HB) I have a cuppa and do my meditation. So pleasant!

Dill - I have been out of the loop on the whole Belgium thing. HB wanted to tell me about it early yesterday morning, but I wouldn't let him. I still feel pain from the Paris attacks. I agree that the best thing to do is to bring peace to ourselves, and let that radiate out into the world. I'm just starting to learn about Lovingkindness Meditation, where you bring love to yourself and then send healing across the world to those hurting. Seems like at least it is something to do - and I believe that changing the energy surrounding people really does count.

Happy Maundy Thursday tomorrow to those who follow the Holy Week services...

                                To the light!
