    Good mornin ladies...

Hump Day, the middle of the week, and the weather is supposed to be beautiful for the next several days: sunny and in the 60s/70s.

Dill, it is sad when a friend moves, my move was just sudden. Maybe you can visit your friend to wherever they are moving. I love a beautiful sunset/sunrise. Don't see enough of them.

Lav, I finally had a really good night's sleep last night. It felt good. Hope you can take a nap if you need too.

Cyn, good to hear the hard work you have done, eating differently and meditating, is resulting in feeling better.

Pauly, you sound good, little kids are wild and fun.

More coffee for me. Have a good one, AF.

      Morning all -

Dill, what beautiful description of that sunset! I could almost see it. So glad your eyes and heart were open. I heard a yoga teacher/life coach say that she often asks her clients to visualize a pleasant experience, or a special place ---- and they can't! She
instructs her clients to spend 16 seconds with whatever happy moment or nice scene that they see; apparently that is the amount of time it takes for a memory to be 'coded' into the brain to strengthen that neural pathway. I've been trying to do that, and I am accumulating lots of meaningful mental pictures and moments.

Lav - my pup is getting me up around 2 AM, grrr. He seems to be having some urinary difficulties...I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the $$$ on more tests to see if there are medical issues. The urinalysis showed some blood, sigh. He's not an old dog, so I may have to go for the tests. It may be worth a good night's sleep (except for the hot flashes!) I have no trouble keeping motivated for my health - I think I could spend all day looking at sites about living better/cleaner. Now if only I had the same motivation to get my business really thriving! I'm working on that.

Star - so glad that you will have some nice weather coming up... enjoy that yard!

Pauly - congrats - what a great attitude! Good luck with the cookie monster --

I actually have a client today, so that's good. Off to get the day's detail 'sorted'. Or 'done and dusted' on this Hump Day (here's to you, Sooty)

      Happy AF Wednesday, all.

Good morning friends, happy Hump day!

Star, a good night's sleep makes all the difference. Good for you

Dill, I have an old friend who wants to move to FL before the end of the year. I am sad about it & just trying to keep my mouth shut. I just don't understand why people in their mid-sixties would choose to move so far away from family, grandkids & friends. Seems selfish to me. I will be kind but I sure won't help her pack, ha ha!!

Cyn, looks like we are getting some decent weather now - we're due! Let's all play outside & be happy!

Pauly, you are having a better week & that makes me happy! We have to stay positive

OK, I need to get to Curves befor I get into anything else.
Have a great AF day everyone.

Afternoon friends, late check in from me,was reading a blog about a lady in rehab,it was interesting to read cuz she was very detailed, she just got out today and I hope only the best for her,day off from Louie and usually I'm sad but after his energy bursts the last 2 days I'm a tad relieved, I've been soooo tired these past few days, I think it's probably not worth it to get up early to exercise everyday,I think I need the sleep more but I also know I won't exercise later in the day, grrr, will figure that one out my best friend moved 6 years ago,we stayed in touch at first but now she won't reply to my letters or calls, maybe I'm a bad memory for her,we were friends during the height of my drinking and she had to babysit me numerous times, ugh, don't want to think about it, hope we all have a peaceful night
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Hello All, really late check in for me. I have been under the weather today, low energy, chills, stomach feeling off. Yuck. Anyway, I just wanted to stop in a give a quick shout out. I appreciated all your wonderful posts. Let's all have a peaceful, AF Hump Day evening!
            Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Pauly, that extra tired feeling is probably allergy related, I get it too
I parted ways with my 'best friend' nearly 14 years ago when I discovered what a sneaky, lying & basically mean b*tch she was. I have been a whole lot better off without my old college friend.

Dill, geez I hope you feel better soon. Springtime viruses always make the rounds. Take good care of yourself.

Tomorrow is babysitting day for me so I will be up & out early.
              Have a peaceful night everyone!

                Good morning...

Lav, we moved to be closer to family, I like the warm winters in Florida, maybe having a place for the winter would be fun, but to be gone the entire year, not yet. It could get lonely. It is really hard to make friends as you get older, they are hard to replace. Your old college friend sounds as though she was easy to let go.

Cyn, I like that idea of visualizing something wonderful, beautiful and focusing on it for at least 16 seconds to keep the memory. Good idea. Sorry about your doggie, that is a tough one. When we had dogs, they were alot of work, and at times, wanted to go out in the middle of the night. It was best when I heeded their call, or I was doing clean up in the morning. I am going to try and get out today, walk at lunch or something, it is warming up and sunny today, I love this time, early spring. Hope your weather is beautiful too.

Pauly, I wonder if just exercising 2-3 mornings a week would meet your goal? I have not been able to force myself to exercise in the early morning. My motivation has been low even though I know it would make me more energetic! Hope you have a great day.

Dill, feel better, but good you could rest and take it easy.

Lots to do today, have a good AF Thursday.

                  Morning all -

Dill - so sorry you are under the weather - do take care. Ginger tea? It's supportive, and sometimes helps tummies..

Lav - wow, you have cleared your life of some toxic people! I am thinking of smudging my office, which was the bedroom of two boys when the previous owners lived here - one of whom was autistic. I think the chaotic energy is still in the room -- I'll smudge, and then will paint the room this weekend. Seems crazy, but I just have to have a new start in that room. Hope your commute this morning was safe and sound.

Pauly - I can imagine that looking after a child would completely wear me out! I'm glad you have some time to yourself. Give yourself a big hug today!

Star - yes, yes, I hope that you can get out for a walk at lunchtime. I'm hearing that sunshine is incredibly important for our health - 15 minutes minimum each day. Not only for vitamin D production, but all sorts of other effects as well. As you know, I love my time in nature - even when it's just pulling out wild raspberries.

I worked another long stint on our land last night - I can actually see my progress now, which is great. Now I need to have all the stuff taken away!! Lav - I think I saw some poison ivy! I'm covered head to toe, but I think I'll be super careful in that area. Can you pull it out to stop it from growing? I thought I would cover my garden gloves with the throw-away plastic gloves and pull out what I see, tossing the gloves out afterwards. Sheesh, just when I thought I was reducing the nasties!

Lots of work for me today, which is good. Wishing all a wonderful AF Thursday --

                      Good morning friends, happy Thursday!

Heavier than usual traffic for absolutely no reason this morning but made it safely to my granddaughter's house
We had frost overnight again, ho hum.

Dill, I sure hope you are feeling better today!

Cyn, I know where the poison ivy is so I stay clear of those areas, just leave them looking crappy. I react too violently to that stuff to care otherwise. Occasionally I can guilt YB into clearing those areas, ha ha. I still manage to come down with a case now & then. Be careful! I think just pulling the vines doesn't prevent regrowth. The only thing that really seems to work is Roundup & I won't have that cancer causing trash around the property anymore. I need to be alert & avoid exposure as much as humanly possible.
I did do some serious smudging at my house years ago, you may remember. It took a few attempts but I finally felt the difference. I was just thinking I may do the lower level of my house too, outside of my shop. My younger dog always comes to me looking for comfort, actually hides uder my desk. I swear it looks like she is 'seeing things' when she is down there - who knows?

Star, I know Florida weather attracts the snowbirds but I honestly don't like it down there that much. I watched YB's grandparents go down there every winter & do nothing but sit in their condo for months. That would bore me to death, ha ha! How much fishing & beach sitting can you do? I hope you enjoy your nice weather today.

Pauly, I hope you have a great day. Enjoy your time with Louie, they grow so fast

Have a wonderful AF day everyone!

I feel dumb quite a lot myself, Pauly but I assure you, you are NOT dumb! LOL I have heard Lav and Cyn talk about smudging over the years here but I myself have never smudged and won't attempt to answer your question. I'm sure Lav or Cyn will be better able to do that. Wasn't there a tv show once called Are you Smarter Than a Fourth Grader, or something like that? I used to miss an awful lot of those questions! But I still don't think of myself as dumb.

Lav, I am starting to really get concerned with this Zika stuff. I worry so much for my daughter and her family living in New Orleans!

Star, woke up this morning feeling worlds better and the first thing I did was try Cyn's 16 seconds suggestion. I think it's a great idea! I might even jot a list of pleasant memories to draw from.

Cyn, You are absolutely intrepid when it comes to those invasive plants! Today was the first nice day we've had in a good while but I had plans to meet with a gf and do lunch and some shopping so no outdoor work for me.

Tomorrow is my early morning volunteer job. I'll be up as early as you, Star!
Thank you all for all your well wishes yesterday. They did the trick!

Pauly ~ this is for you!!!!

The smudging ceremony is a custom of Native American and other indigenous cultures. For centuries many cultures have used smudging as a way to create a cleansing smoke bath that is used to purify the body, aura, energy, ceremonial/ritual space or any other space and personal articles.

                            And this:
Sage and Smudge - How To Do A Smudge Ceremony

I had the need to do some serious smudging around here years ago after YB just up & left with no word. He left so much negativity in the air I couldn't cope with it so I smudged. Did the trick

Had a good day but I am tired.
                            Peace to all tonight.

                                Morning all!

Pauly - please excuse me! You are definitely NOT dumb -- I forget sometimes that you might not be familiar with some of the 'old' conversations on this thread. Lav - thanks for posting that link...now I'll be sure to know how to do it! Dogs are so sensitive to energies -- my dogs love the office, but ever since moving their beds in there (HB wanted them out of the bedroom), the dogs have been very restless at night, and get up multiple times, even just to move around and then lie down again. Who knows!

Lav - you are an early riser today. It sounds like you had a long day yesterday. Yes, my lawn guy is baffled by why I am attacking all of this by hand - he keeps telling me to spray with Roundup ( and sometimes I'm tempted!). But I won't do it, so that's that. With well water, and me not being able to de-toxify normally, it just doesn't make any sense. Never mind the small animals and deer that would be affected.

Dill - I am really pushing myself hard at the moment out in the 'bush', as I'm trying to get things pulled out before they leaf out. I'm staying just ahead of the curve: forsythia, check; honeysuckle, check; horrible raspberries, check. Now wild roses and, gulp, bittersweet. I'm working each evening between 5 and 7, but I don't think I can keep this up much longer. The body is complaining a little!

Star - what's up for you today? I hope you are having a great work time, and I'm sure you have plans for the weekend.

Cheers all for a lovely AF Friday. (PS - I took a 16 second 'snapshot' yesterday of a field of fabulous little tiny blue flowers -- the light was perfect, and it was by the stream where I walk the dogs. I took an actual pic, but it won't compare with what's in my head - the cool breeze, the bright sun, the water babbling....)
