Lav, I already ordered the book, used and paperback, the kindle was too expensive. I need to read it, I am working on change, but it is slow. Thanks. I agree with Cyn, let us have your reading list.

Cyn, the company doing the yardwork has been on Houzz and that is one of the reasons I chose them. Right now I am awaiting approval from the Housing association, which is a pain in the neck. It is a waiting game right now, I hope it is done by the end of the summer, that is just how these things go. I have to look long term.

Pauly, hope your week is good. Sometimes the MWO site and our thread have less posts, but we just keep posting on, for ourselves and for the others who come.

Dill, how fun on your boat. It was beautiful yesterday and I was able to walk at lunch in a beautiful area of the city: it was like another world.

Yay, it is Friday, I get to wear jeans. Life is good, AF.

Sunny & coolish here but I'll take it after all this rain, right?
I had a decent night's sleep after my long day yesterday. I didn't think that was possible after seeing the size of the moon last evening, ha ha

Ladies, my reading list has been bizarre over the past decade & a half, Lol
I used to fill my free time with drugstore trashy novels just to take a break from the seriousness of my life. But then I got to a point of wanting answers to some serious health, emotional & spiritual questions, not just for myself but others as well.
I'll keep trying to share books that were helpful to me & may be of some use to you as well.

Dill, I imagine a boat ride was a perfect yesterday, good for you

Cyn, peacekeepers is what we are, no two ways about it & it's OK so long as we don't allow ourselves to get sucked into other people's drama. Enjoy your company

Star, determination is key to successful change. Just keep plugging away & remember that we are capable of forming new & improved habits in 28 days or less. Forming those new neural pathways just takes a little bit of time & maybe a little stubborness.

Saturday and no special plan, supposed to be rainy here after they said it would be nice and sunny. Those weatherpeople are annoying. Usual Saturday, excercise, clean, then some R & R, that is the way I like it. All AF of course. Hope everyone is doing well. Have a good one.

Good morning friends from cloudy, wet and cool southern Ohio. Not much going on here except for the grandkids coming later. I got Willy Wonka with Gene Wilder from the library for later.

Cyn, interesting that you find yourself in the peacemaker position. It is such a difficult spot. I've been there many, many times and I really don't have the energy for it much anymore. I'm going to look at the houzz wetsite just out of curiosity. I'm not up for a big project at this point.

Star, nothing special going on is kind of nice on the week end. Especially when you've been feeling tired and sluggish. Are you feeling any better today?

Pauly, how did Kel's procedure go?

Morning friends,I seen the moon and felt the moon as I was a crab yesterday!haha,do you guys believe in windy days and positive ions affecting people? That's something that I always come across while reading so I have a Himalayan salt lamp,rock and candle holder,supposed to release negative ions,I dunno,maybe I feel weird cuz the kids are grown and things feel different, Bobbi seems different this trip,more distant, I can't put a finger on it,anyways detachment comes in handy,I can't make anybody do or act the way I want them to,when the kids were little I had the power,now I have none over them,feels weird,anyways,hope we all have a happy Saturday

Didn't have a chance to say hello this morning before my grandsons arrived.
They were just herecgorca few hours & I have been busy with odds & ends ever since.
Rain, rain & more rsin, ugh! This is getting seriously tiresome. More of the same coming tomorrow & Monday too, sigh.

Good morning...

Feeling good here, I slept so well. I have been taking vitamins, not my usual style, for a few weeks, and we are having green smoothies and eating less. I feel good. I guess I don't need to eat as much as I do, darn. Anyway, I am starting to feel better, and had a great day yesterday. Good work out, cleaned and did laundry, and then when and got a few things for my house: clock and little table for out front. After completing those things I read and watched a little TV. I am focusing on being OK with being alone on Saturdays, cause that is what is happening. So I can choose to be happy or miserable. Right? Lots of work on detaching and that will be ongoing. All AF of course.

Lav, I hope some sunny weather comes your way soon. It is supposed to be sunny today and I will get out this afternoon for sure. The flowers here are amazing,bright and beautiful from all the rain.

Pauly, sorry you are having a difficult day. Hope you feel better.

Dill, I loved the Gene Wilder version of that movie, hope the grandkids do too. I have recently downloaded several book for my Kindle, buy none I would recommend. That is the problem, buying them and having to keep them. I wish my library was better.

Good morning Star & everyone!

Still dark & damp in this neck of the woods, ugly out there. The weather folks are saying just passing showers today but it's still too damp to do anything outside in the gardens.

Star, I chose happiness when I finally realized that I am never going to get the companionship I wanted & waited for from YB. He is just not capable of spending quality time with anyone. He's never had a close friend, he's happier being alone which makes me wonder why he thought getting married & having a family was a good idea. Some things are meant to remain a mystery I suppose.
Now that we have been on both sides of the happy/not happy fence I find it easier to just stay put on the happy side

Wishing everyone a wonderful AF day & hope at least some of us see some sun

Hello friends, what a busy and fun filled day! The weather was perfect and we went to a local school festival that had rides and games and good food. Little gdaughter road rides to her heart's content. Later in the afternoon we also took a nice long walk in the woods. The down side there was that I forgot to put on insect repellent and sure enough found a tick crawling up my leg. Sheesh!

I did get to see that moon last night and again this morning. It was awesome!

Good morning...

Had another good day, sunny and warm (sorry Lav) but it should be heading out East soon. Had a good work out, then went to the city and walked around and it was so fun, people watched and just enjoyed the day. My son came over briefly, and I remained detached, so did he. Better that way. Monday, off to work but first the dentist.

Lav, I have been listening to the Bubble Hour and the discussions were centered around our thoughts, and how we get into a pattern, while drinking, that is so unhealthy, that leads to drinking, horrible mood, illness, and then all over again. Sitting with our thoughts, detaching, learning coping skills, changing our thoughts, it is a life time process. Glad you are doing well.

Dill, what a great day you had. Good. Hope your week is great too.

Hello friends, looks like things are really quiet here! I think things often slow down on the forum at this time of year. Spring draws people out and gets them involved in other activities.

Star, I haven't listened to the Bubble Hour since I got my new tablet. Actually I haven't listened since sometime last Fall because it seemed like they were rarely putting up new podcasts. Have they started having new shows again?

Hello friends!

I had a busy but good day. Had my blood drawn, then went to Curves then stopped for some veggies on the way home. Worked my way thru another training video for my new software & assisted YB (who had the day off) construct a fence/trellis sort of thing so I can try growing zucchini vertically this year. I saw the idea on Pinterest & thought it might be worth a try
Speaking of Pinterest I made this recipe for Creamy Tortellini Vegetable Bake today but substituted non-dairy ingredients for everything & it was very good. I even used a package of mini gnocchi in place of the cheese tortellini.

We actually had sunshine & blue skies until about 4 pm when a thunder storm rolled thru - it was nice while it lasted, ha ha!!

Evening all -

So sorry to be away! Whew - I am done with this wave of visitors. I am truly tired, but it has been a very gratifying time - my brother and I (and SIL) have never had much time together without my parents or other family being around, and so we got to know one another in a new way. I think we laid groundwork for the future -- good thing, since I'm about to be 60 and they are 67... I guess it's never too late.

I'm all 'entertained' out! But I will re-group these next few days and get ready for our next guest, coming on Saturday. I am anxious to get out on in our woodland and see what needs to be pulled... but I am seeing some beautiful fern groups coming up - so gratifying!

It sounds like everyone is finding their pathways here -- detachment and happiness, deep breathing and lots of love. I hope all are having a great AF night. More soon --

Just another Tuesday, work, and living my life. Slept well, feel good but tired.

Cyn, so nice to hear you spent time with your brother and renewed your relationship. I love to entertain too, but then like to have my house back! Hope you have fun in your yard today.
