Morning all -
Lav, we must have cross-posted last evening! I didn't see your message before I hit 'Post'
Just when I was looking forward to a good night's sleep, my poor girl dog suffered one of her 'episodes'. So we were up from 11 pm to about 5 am, on and off. Looks like I won't be a ball of fire today! I'm just savoring my tea at the moment. It's raining here (after a week of gorgeous weather, so we can't complain), so I guess nature is giving me a 'pass' today on landscaping work. I need to get caught up on business anyway, so this is OK by me.
Yesterday I had a meeting with a Senior Community that is interested in me doing some presentations - maybe even starting this summer -- so that was a nice thing to hear. I need to get my website and business FB page spiffed up!!!
Hope all are well today - happy AF Tuesday --

Good Tuesday afternoon friends!
I was busy with mandatory paperwork this morning, couldn't put it off any longer, ha ha! So I skipped Curves, got that business done then went to meet my friends for lunch. My mood wasn't fabulous when I got there but I'm feeling better now. They have a way of lifting my spirits
Cyn, I am sorry about your girl dog having troubles. My big dog has let me sleep the past few nights, I am grateful. Getting her in & out of the house has been difficult. Lifting her front half on the steps helps but it's not easy. Good news about the potential work coming your way. Nice that your brother is willing to work on your relationship, mine still are not interested.
Pauly, kids & play doh, Lol
Enjoy your daughter while she is visiting. Don't let worries ruin your time together.
Dill, it's so sunny & warm today the AC turned itself on while I was out, ha ha!!
I hope you are having a decent day too.
Star, i have so many recipes & websites pinned it's not even funny. I can remove the dairy from most recipes I find with decent results. You have to practice.
Enjoy the rest of your day everyone!

Good morning everyone...
Lav, checked out that website, thanks. We had to put our air on too, 85 and rainy today, might as well be comfortable, right?
Cyn, hope your doggies is better today. Sometimes a day of rest and just hanging out is good too. I always find things to do in the house when it rain, always something to do.
Pauly, so glad you are spending time with your daughter, how fun. I know how hard it is when they leave, it hurts.
Dill, anything new with you? Special plan for the weekend?
Have a happy hump Day, AF.

Hello Friends,
Pauly, I love the shoe organizer idea. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you're enjoying your time with Bobbi. I don't know about that FTWD! Not one of those people do anything sensible as far as I can tell. That's what's frustrating about that show for me. It seems like during a zombie apocalypse you'd sharpen your wits and made good choices re: survival. But these folks are just doing nutty things!
Lav, growing zucchini vertically sound like a good plan. Saves space and makes picking easier. I remember one year when I grew decorative gourds on an arched trellis for the kids. That was a winner! Glad you had a good time with your gf's yesterday. I'm meeting mine today at a retired teacher's luncheon.
Cyn, it's interesting that you and your brother are seeming to press a "reset button" on your relationship now that both your parents are gone. As Martha Stewart would say, "It's a good thing." I did start watching the Prime Suspect series. We watched Season one and I have season 2 on request at the library. Thanks for the suggestion!
Star, yesterday Mr. D and I went with my gf to help her buy a new refrigerator. She had never made a large purchase without her hb by her side as they dated from high school she had ALWAYS been with him. When she needed to buy her new car, her son was with her to do that. It's funny how things do shift after someone dies. People's rolls shift and accommodations are made. I haven't had to turn on the AC yet. Yesterday I cleaned all the window sills of the accumulation of dust and dead bugs between the screen and window so that I could open the windows and have a nice breeze blow through. The windows themselves I may tackle this summer. I hate that job!
Retired teacher's luncheon for me today and a little gardening too. Then we going to be back in the rain for a few days again. Yuck!
Have a great AF Hump Day everyone.Dill

Morning friends --
Rain yesterday, an explosion of green today! I really needed the rest I took yesterday -- I'm feeling a little more human today. Lots on the To-Do list... things that didn't get done before my brother and SIL came.
Lav - I really am so lucky that my brother is open to spending time together. Because of trauma with my Dad early on, he has been shut down (tight) every since I can remember - he's 7 years older than I am. Most of my life he was mono-syllabic and extremely distant. We bonded somewhat when we worked together to settle my mother's estate, and it was fitting that we closed my mom's estate banking account when he was here - we both had to be there in person, so it worked out perfectly. And strangely enough, he was the one to send me all the materials about meditation, so his private journey has really benefited me. I am truly lucky. RE; you dog - that sounds really hard -- is it time for a ramp? We are thinking about that - girl dog is really having psychological trouble with the steps, and I worry that she'll get outside in the dog yard and not be able to get back up to the house. It's always something, right?
Dill - how nice of you to help out your friend. Restructuring a life after loss must be so hard -- you are dear to give her that support. Glad that you are enjoying Prime Suspect; I think it is some of Mirren's best work. Just like you, I'll be doing window work today!
Pauly - how's it going today? I hope your family time is going well.
Star - my doggy is all better today. She is so sensitive; I think the fact that we were gone for a week, then came home and working like demons for 2 days, then had guests in the house for 5 days left her kind of upset. Thanks goodness it was just an long bad night, and didn't keep on going. I need to teach her to meditate!! Ha -- hope you stay cool and happy today.
Off to get some business done -- wishing all a great AF Wednesday!

Good Hump day afternoon friends!
I have been to Curves & to the market to stock up on my granddaughter's fav things. I am picking her up this evening & she will be spending probably the next two nights. Were are going to my grNdson's pre-K graduation tomorrow morning, ha ha!
Star, the heat & humidity always seem to just show up & smack you in the face, ugh. I have no qualms, whatsoever paying for the comfort of central air It sounds like the weekend will be stormy off & on. I have made no plans.
Dill, enjoy your luncheon. It's nice to reconnect with folks under pleasant curcumstances. Your friend is lucky to have you for support. It is hard to suddenly change rolls after a lifetime.
Cyn, the dog situation is weird. YB is nagging me to have her put down. She is not ready for that in my opinion. He's just concerned about being inconvienced. He has no heart or feelings, I swear. I am glad your dog is OK. Some days are just rough but we have the patience to deal with that, right? By the way, I have my daughter in charge of making health decisions for me if/when I become incapacitated.......now you know why
I have given some thought to a ramp for Maxie but of course I am being met with resistance.
Pauly, how is Bobbi's boyfriend? Have you met him before? Does he have possibilities?? Ha ha!
Wishing everyone a great rest of the day!

It's a quick check in for me, too. Had a good time at the luncheon and won a plant in the door prize drawing! I set it on my porch and my dog came along and thought it was a gift for her. She pulled it out of it's pot and chewed up the plastic container! Go figure. The plant was unharmed apart from being uprooted so I planted it and will hope for the best! Quick trip to the urgent care yesterday. Mr. D cut himself on one of his super sharp saw blades. He required 6 stitches to his thumb. He's doing ok tho.
Let's all have a good AF Thursday!Dill

Hello all!
Racing around here - I did a good bit of work on the land this morning in the 0'dark before it got hot. I just can't skip a week and hope for the best, I really do need to stay on top of it. Happily, I really did a good job on the Garlic Mustardin April - I did find a few plants ready to go to seed, but I think I nabbed most of them. Now I see lots of other invasives that need attention (wild raspberries!!!), but that will have to wait until next week. Our house guest arrives on Saturday, and we will be in the city tomorrow, so all things must be ready (except the guest room and bath which will just have been used by the dog sitter, aaargh.) A little complicated, but whatever...
Lav - yes, I live with someone actually has a heart but hates being inconvenienced by the dogs (and/or my time spent on the dogs!). Good luck with that situation, and hopefully you can get her a ramp at some point.
Dill - very funny, who knew you had dog with an opinion about plants! I wish mine would dig up the dang violets that are taking over my front gardens, sheesh!
Pauly - family issues are always, interesting, right?
Star - The Houzz website that I look at is just house ideas, and discounted cool furniture and accessories. I didn't know that they also have preferred vendors on there -- or is that a different site? I look forward to hearing how all your landscaping is going. All I can do at this point is to dream!
Gotta run!! Wishing all a great AF day --

Good evening friends,
Late check in for me as well!
I had fun at my grandson's graduation ceremony. My granddaughter enjoyed herself too.
My daughter will be driving out tomorrow to pick her up but we will have some time for a visit, I think!
Hi to Star, hope your day was good!
Dill, sorry about Mr. D's thumb, ouch!!! I hope he heals quickly!
Funny about the dog & the plant. Sounds like something one of my dogs would do.
Pauly, do you think your son would like to go to your daughter's for a vacation? Would he have anything to do there or anyone his age for company? Don't get yourself into worry mode just yet, OK?
Cyn, you are still working so hard! Cut yourself a break lady!
I'm not sure my dog would even benefit from a ramp at this point. It's not just her joints that are bothering her. She has slowly become weak overall, gets short of breath with even a little exertion. I'll just manage the best I can with her I guess.
Wishing everyone a peaceful night. I'll probably be checking in late again tomorrow night.
