Emotions and adjusting to being a Tee-Totaller

Scoob: I read your post w/interest. A completely sober life does take some adjustment. Most of the time when I socialize w/normal drinkers, I'm fine w/abstinence. Once in a while, I see the gap between being completely sober (me) & being a little under the influence (them). This usually happens later in the evening after a few drinks.

My loved ones really don't fully grasp how much I drank. I hid it very, very well.

Once in while, someone will ask why I don't drink. Sometimes I say I'm a recovering alcoholic. Often I'll say that I just don't like the way alcohol makes me feel. I like a clear head. I keep it simple.

    PS: I love kayaking.
