    Good afternoon friends!

YB & I actually went to the fruit farm nearby & picked 3 pounds of black raspberries this morning, yum
It was going to be a quiet day but the plan changed. My DIL & grandsons will be here for dinner, my son is working in DC today. I am going to keep the boys overnight so I don't have to leave the house early tomorrow morning to watch them until yheir Dad gets home from work. Today's cookout will be a cook-in, we have flood watches up!!!

Star, glad you are back home. Sorry about the damp weather.

Dill, great that you had a good visit with your daughter! I love it when the cousins are together & having fun

Pauly, sticking to a wake/sleep schedule is more important than we realize.
My dog had me up again from 3:15 to 5 am. I fell asleep shen she settled down & got up late so it's taken me all day to shake off the goofy feeling

Wishing everyone a peaceful AF evening!

The past few nights my dachshund has gotten me up around 5 to be let outside. She takes forever to find a spot to do her business so I went back inside both times while she was in the backyard, laid back down and fell asleep.

Trying to decide what to do this evening. My ex-wife is playing a July 4th outdoors orchestra concert over at the coast, but I don't want to drive all the way out to Cocoa. I played those concerts a couple of times when I was still working as a musician and outdoor concert in Florida right on the Intracoastal Waterway = bad idea. The person sitting next to me turned to me one year and remarked that I looked like I just stepped out of the shower. The heat index is over 100 right now and there is little chance of rain so I don't envy her. I think I'll probably stay in. I have a DVD from the library that is due tomorrow, Denzel Washington in The Equalizer, and I also have the first Mockingjay movie from the Hunger Games series from Netflix that I'd like to pop in the mail so I can get another DVD this week. I might ride my bike to downtown Orlando (only about 2 miles) for a bit, but the dog's been flipping out over the fireworks the past 2 nights, so I just might stay in.

Good morning, from rainy southern Ohio.

aihfl, I am envious of you having been a musician. I love music but I am not talented enough to play an instrument. I can play piano a bit and guitar even less well. I do love music and singing tho. What do you play? I'm a big Netflix user too. I loved the Equalizer. In fact I don't think there has ever been a Denzel film that I didn't love! Mr. D and I recently saw Eye in the Sky with Helen Mirren. Have you seen it? It was well acted and though it was a difficult subject I thought they did it pretty well. It is a movie that has stayed with me for several days as it was thought provoking regarding the use of drones.

Lav, sorry your doggy is messing up your sleep. I know what you mean about that "goofy feeling" after a bad night's sleep. Is there anyway you could make her more active during the day so she needs to sleep thru the night? Have your grandkids walk her on the leash maybe? Take her to a doggy park to socialize with other dogs? YUM, 3 lbs. of black raspberries! What did you do with them? Mine are still in the freezer.

Pauly, I am with you on the celeb thing. I really don't know one from another anymore. I guess that makes me an old fogey! Ha! What amazes me is the musicians from my day are still doing concerts! Diana Ross will be in the area this summer, and Willie Nelson, too. I was kind of floored when I heard that. I don't really go to concerts anymore tho. I don't like how loudly they crank up the sound, and I'm not comfortable in crowds. Live music is so special tho. Living in Las Vegas you must be able to see live performances every weekend!

Cyn, We have a little paddle boat that seats 4. Now that you mentioned your paddle board it made me think we will have to get that out of the barn and put it on the pond! I know what you mean about how tiring it can be, but such good exercise! A paddle board sounds like fun. We took the little ones down to the pond on Saturday and fished. Oh how they loved it! Our pond is well stocked so they are almost guaranteed to catch something and each of them did catch at least 2. It kept Mr. D busy baiting the hooks and taking the fish off! He seemed to enjoy it tho.

Star, I didn't go to any fireworks on the fourth, did you? I don't know if they were cancelled or not. The rain had stopped in time but everything was soaking wet outside.

Let's all have a good and AF Tuesday!
        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

          Morning all -

Dill, your rain appeared here last night and is still gently coming down. I'm grateful - things were really getting terribly dry, and I have no way to keep it all watered. The deck plants I can manage, but everything else is on its own. I'm so glad your gkids are having a good time fishing - I think that's such a fun activity for them!

Lav - I hope you got a full night's rest last night. Girl dog has been doing OK, but early this morning she woke me in distress, so we were up from 4:30 on. But bless her for letting me know; I was able to start my home-made protocol, and we avoided a big deal. You must be worn out from the blackberries and all the family - I hope you get some time to yourself today!

Pauly - how's it going for you these days? I hope your sleep gets settled in.

Star - I'm glad to hear that your landscape project will start soon! That's very exciting.

Well, off to pack up HB's boxes. He's leaving for 5 weeks for his jobs in the West on Thursday, and now we are smarter and send all clothes and shoes ahead in boxes. Once that is done and mailed, I'm continuing to work on my presentation on Saturday - - incredibly I was wide awake at 4:30, and all sorts of ideas came into my head -- I wrote notes in the semi-dark, so now I'll see if I can decipher them!

Last night's sunset was just incredible- as if the whole sky was providing the fireworks. I was so grateful to be clear-headed and AF. What a wonderful way to have a holiday.

Hello and welcome aihfl! We all have dog stories, don't we?!Good luck -

              Good evening friends,

Well, I've had half a day to myself, ha ha!
My son finally got here to get the boys at lunch time

Aih, it seems we all have troublesome dogs around here, LOL
Good to know we have a lotvin common!

Dill, I wish I could walk this dog to tire her out. She only takes a few steps & has to stop to rest, just like an old lady. I fed her two Benadryl last night so we all got some sleep.
My grandsons love fishing, there are lots of places to take them nearby. Glad your grandkids are enjoying their summer.

Cyn, I think of you when I am up at odd hours with the dog, wondering if you are up too, ha ha! Glad your girl dog is doing OK. I loved your sunset pic, very nice indeed!

Pauly, have you gotten your bloodwork results? I'm almost wondering if you are perhaps a little anemic? It could be the reason for the sluggishness. I'm glad the holiday is over too.

              Did we miss Star today?

              Wishing everyone a peaceful night!
I am meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow. She's leaving soon to go to Hawaii for a month to visit her grandsons. How cool is that?

                Good morning....

I read a bit, then realized I had to get ready for work yesterday. Off now for eight days, but the weather is forecasting rain, so I really don't want to be stuck in a hotel room. We have to drive a few hours for an appointment, then back, so may hold off on going till tomorrow. Wait and see I guess. It is just so nice to be off work for a change. Yay.

Cyn and Lav, hope your dogs are doing better, the poor things.

                Pauly, hope you feel better.

Dill, sounds like you are having a great summer.

                Have a good one.

                  Morning all -

Lav - a whole half day off?! I hope you start getting some more time to yourself -- you really did the 'family thing' last weekend. Glad to hear that the Benadryl is working for a night's sleep. Good luck!

Star - wow, a vacation for you - sorry that you have to drive for an appointment today... that sounds like what we have to do here. Have fun with whatever you decide to do; just glad that you will have some time for yourself now. Are you reading a good book?

Dill - I hope you have some time to catch up now too. Holidays are great, but can be tiring!

Pauly - I hear ya about the holiday hoopla. I was glad that by the evening there was no company and no plans. A good night's sleep is the best medicine sometimes - I hope you got a good rest last night.

I found out that I'll have a good sized crowd for my talk on Saturday - I promised a free guide to the attendees, so I'm off to get that together and find a printer somewhere here that can do it for me. I hope all my synapses are firing this morning!!! Ha!

Wishing all a great hump-day - take good care of yourselves, AF -

Morning friends, Lav,I take a multi with 18 mg iron,do you think its enough? Still waiting on lab results,I heard that they have to test ferritin levels to get a true iron reading and I know they aren't doing that,I dunno, did read that the multi contain calcium too and I know the body always stores calcium before iron(at least that what I was told during my gazillion pregnancies haha) we shall see, hello Dill,Star and Cyn,I hope we all have a great day

It's a stormy old day here. Not much going on otherwise. Good luck with your presentation on Saturday, Cyn. I know you'll do a great job! Greetings Lav, Star and Pauly. Let's all have a good AF Hump Day!

9:15 pm & here I am just saying hello

No kids & I had lunch out with a friend today - woo hoo!! I could get used to this, ha ha!!

Star, rain or no rain I hope you enjoy your time off!

Cyn, I figure if Maxie & I both take the Benadryl - we should both sleep, right?
Good luck Saturday, sounds like things are going your way, yay!

Pauly, the iron in a multivit should be enough provided you are not dealing with heavy monthly bleeding - that can screw things up quite a bit. If you had a CBC done & your hemoglobin & hematocrit are OK then you don't have anemia. Maybe it's more allergy related??
You're right about the calcium/iron relationship.

Dill, go ahead & send your rain this way. It was HOT & HUMID today, ugh. I can't take too many days of that weather. Hope you get some cooler air.

                        Wishing everyone a peaceful night!

Morning friends, Lav,I have horrible bleeding, that's why when you mentioned anemia a bell went off,I do eat lots of meat though,I just dunno,iIwas always scared of iiron supplements cuz I've read that alkies sometimes have too much iron, this whole vitamin and mineral thing is confusing, take one it throws a balance off without the other, meh, read a great article on romantasizing alcohol thoughts and avoiding doing it cuz on the 4th Ihad it pretty bad, thinking of all the times I drank in the past and back when it was fun,we all know it quit being fun along time ago, amazing how the mind forgets, total rubbish thoughts, anyways hope we all have a great Thursday,Dill,Star and Cyn

                                Hello all -

Just returned from an airport run, so now will get down business (after I mail another package off to himself, sheesh!). I opened my email to read that now there are 50 people coming to my talk! The community director says that I've 'hit a nerve' - my talk is about how to 'Lighten Up" by de-cluttering. I guess lots of people feel the need...

Lav, so glad that you had time with a friend. That's great. Love the Benadryl idea!

Pauly - GOOD FOR YOU for not romanticizing the drinking, especially on a holiday. You are right, it stopped being fun decades ago.

                                Dill - how's things?

Star - hope you are having a good time, wherever you are!

Hot and humid and no A/C here. We did use it in the bedroom last night, but I'm kind of glad that HB is gone for now- enough of the complaining! It is what it is. Hoping all have a good day and a way to escape the heat!
