friday
mornin all..hows we doing today then?hopefully ok...well had a look at the thread last night ,and all the viewing versus the posts.....now for me the idea of starting the fred and talking about every crazy subject going was to promote conversation between us and passing on ideas to help people to quit and maintain their quit.....that clearly isnt happening..so not sure whether its the shit I chat, jokes or lack of, whatever, but I guess its time for me to take a back seat..I aint got too much more to say really,Ppqp..I thank you for your words, and as support, yep you know where I am..but its you that did the hard yards ..its you that restored your faith and pride in yourself, never forget that....
Anyway weekend is coming up so have a good one folksaf since the fourth of July 2012...howzat then America..now proudly marching into year 12Tags: None

Hey Mickaloo. I for one read much more than I post. I love reading the thread and dropping an occasional comment. Doesnt mean it is not enjoyed and appreciated. Also the jokes make me chuckle which is a good thing in my book All threads get quiet at times and I really hope this thread doesnt stop

Morning Mick...you're most welcome and I understand exactly how you feel. It definitely is NOT your chat or jokes. It takes a HUGE effort to continue a thread day in and day out. You along with others here post on other threads so we can all be found and you may find you have a following. I also know where to find you if I need you. You certainly deserve a break and I just want to say once again thank you for all you've done and do for others.....:smile:PPQP

Mick, by all means take a break if it suits you. The value of your posts here goes without saying. As for the daily format, I think that without a large number of chatty posters, it becomes burdensome to maintain. Probably the reason that other formerly daily threads, like the Army, have switched to a longer term format. People can still post daily, but may feel less pressured to do so, and more free to pop in as they choose. This is a great group of people, and I'll continue to post wherever you are, but my vote goes to a monthly, or ongoing format. What do y'all think?

Hi, Abbers
I enjoy this thread but backed away because I was feeling like I didn't have something to say everyday and yet put pressure on myself to contribute. I know I put this on myself but I let not posting daily on a daily thread make me feel guilty so... I stopped posting entirely. MWO exists to help us so when a part of it leads me to feel bad (guilty), I figure I'm not using it it properly. That had nothing to do with any of the regular contributors who post daily or close to daily. I care about and like all of you. And I like to talk to you but just can't commit to doing it everyday.
Have a great weekend, NS

Mick- I am sorry that you feel this way at the moment. You also have been ill and dealing with the tooth thing - so maybe also you are worn out. I know the effort to takes to start the thread and read back and respond to all the regulars.
And I plead guilty of not doing that (responding to everyone) these days. With a daily thread one has to have 2 windows open to read the daily abs post the day before and the current one.If I am on the I-Pad this never works if I go away for a minute - my I=Pad goes into sleep and I have to start all over again. So I tend to mostly post when I am on the computer (not the I-Pad and my phone is useless) and because of logistics this is only at certain times of the day. I am also stuck between time zones - like today its Saturday morning where I live. I used to start the Daily Abs thread but that didn't work out because as some may remember we had two posts going often. I know what Mick says by not having a convo going.
I agree with NS also that some (I have also felt this way from time to time) feel guilty if they dont post properly on a daily Abs thread. And we dont want to make anyone feel guilty.
Lets get this conversation going about some of the issues to do with posting daily and if we want o keep it that way or go monthly. At the moment I am still in favor of a daily thread as it keeps things moving along and it makes quick responses easy and identifiable. Also even for the long term soberites, daily checking in, if possible - but not compulsory - is really important I think.

Love and appreciate your work Mick, no question. I'm good for a couple of posts a day at most, though my priorities seem to be the nest and my own journal/thread, then i got nought left, but i usually have a read here because of the quality content everyone brings. I'm sure this fred will work itself out and continue on.

Mick, I've been here since the Rock age and threads and people have come and gone. I think you are a rock solid poster who is too funny.
I think when people quit, their priorities change. You have made a commitment to MWO and I for one appreciate it. I am interested in how people are doing, but don't think I have much to say some of the time.
I do want to thank you for your thread and the laughs, and I will do better at posting.Enlightened by MWO

Good evening Abberites!!!
Mick, I think we may have worn you out, I am sorry
I know I have been increasingly busy with family issues, sometimes work stuff so posting later in the day has been working out for me. Plus, I don't like having certain people peering over my shoulder....a problem since YB retired in June. I have always kept this site private & close to my heart because I will never find another like this one
I hope you will continue to hang around with us!
Hello to starty, PQ, Sam, Pie, TT, Pauly, SK & everyone!
Det, I saw your post from last night - GEEZ glad there was no fire or anything nasty like that!!
I am exhausted, daughter is doing well & received notification that she passed her big test from last week. Grateful for everything & everyone here.
Peace tonight!

Ahoy hoy ABerooosters!
Mick, I love the daily thread and your huge dedication to it has really been appreciated. Don't feel obligated to be like Atlas holding up the whole thing every day if you are weary...someone will pop in and get us rolling. I like the daily format as it's a daily reminder of the kind of life i want to live. That being said I'm easy and will go with the flow.
Another fire scare here today... woke at 2am coughing my ass off as the house was full of smoke. Thankfully it wasn't the house on fire but the mountains upwind from us in the valley. Couldn't see more than 50 feet or so. Roads were blocked off and barely made it through to work. Thankfully we got rain this afternoon so we'll be able to sleep tonight. Jeepers... too much weird drama and I'm so grateful to have a clear AF head to deal with it calmly.
Was going to go shooting tomorrow but with a storm bringing 50+ mph winds I'm thinking movies and popcorn are in order
Lav, congrats to your daughter
A guy at work today was telling us about when he visited Mexico, got drunk and ended up getting robbed. One of the great variety of special treats that AL can bring.
Well, off to relax a bit. Wishing you all a fantabulous weekend

how do all
was kinda rushing out the door this morning when I saw your post Mick. While I always look forward to your post and beginning of the this thread, maybe you're feeling burned out doing it, if so, take five. We have mostly all settled in on maintaining or close to cruising by and feeling good about staying sober so the topic does not come up often, it is now more of a maintenance thing, a daily check up or in. Frankly, I find myself not having much to contribute these days as it seems that the day is almost over as soon as it begins. Up to you my friend what you want to do. I'll surely miss you if you ain't here but I understand it if you're ready for a little break..... OK that's long enough, when you coming back??

Det...aside from holy crap...that is the most positive I've heard you post in a long time :welldone:
Sam...LOL
I am to be included in the "I feel guilty if I don't post every day" train of thought and also took a break. But I missed everyone and wondered how your lives were going. Started posting again and soon felt obligated to post daily. And to be totally honest, I didn't want to let Mick down.
So, what if we all decide to not feel guilty if we don't post daily. Someone eventually starts the thread, well except that time Mick posted on the day before's thread and we lost an entire day. LOLLast edited by porqoui; October 14, 2016, 11:05 PM.

Hey yous lot. I would suggest a weekly thread.
Daily thread is nice for lurkers but is tough going for regular posters........ I know that from the army.
But failing that - Mick & Co you are all welcome anytime over in the Army. Amalgamate the threads ?
We'd love to have you
