    Good morning...

The presentation went well, just so glad it is over. Now another one next week, eek! Then a conference for a week in San Antonio, Tx. I am excited to visit a new city. It will be interesting. Today, family over and my husband actually took the day off, so we are going to exercise, clean, and get ready to babysit our grandson. Yipee! The weather really cooled off here, in the 30s so far this morning. Good think the heat is on!

Lav, so sorry you had a moody day, those happen. Being good to yourself and cooking/being creative, is a good form of self care! So, this is interesting, a few young people where I work have come up to me voicing concerns about after the election, they are worried that the crazies will get violent. I hope not. Have you heard or thought of anything like this? I cannot remember a time like this with civil unrest since the 60s, and then there was an unjust war. I am confused.

Cyn, sorry you had a rough night, hope your day went better. I think it is lovely to pray and send positive energy to your friend, keep in communication through the mail, text and email. What a good friend you are. Any special plans this weekend?

Pauly, those intensive visits are so hard. Do the best you can and know it will be over soon. It would be offensive to have someone comment negatively on your house. That friend of mine who I am setting boundaries with made snarky comments about my windows, until I pointed out that there was construction going on in the backyard. Oh yeah, and also about my computer screen, till I noted that it was touch screen. Geez, some people are so critical.

I hope we all have a great AF weekend, keep warm and enjoy our loved ones.

      Morning all -

Lav, so sorry you had to confront a dip in mood. I think these weather swings, plus the shortening days (and of course family drama) must play a part... I hope cooking helped, the soup sounds delicious! Is there anyone reputable around to give you a good massage or reflexologyor acupuncture? Maybe a gift of some comfort for yourself would be a nice treat now -- you certainly have worked hard this fall! Good luck with going around the dark side of the moon...

Star - so sorry, I forgot to wish you well for your presentation yesterday! I'm so glad that it went well -- I know you'll do a bang-up job next week also! Ooooh, San Antonio! I used to go there yearly for a trade show when I was working in music software. The Riverwalk is wonderful, and will be a great treat while the weather is getting colder up north. I also remember a wonderful Mexican restaurant that had a really traditional setting, not too far from downtown. It had a great mariachi band that serenaded diners... Fun to remember! RE: election. I went and voted yesterday via an absentee ballot, and she marked it as soon as I handed it to her, so that felt good; done and no standing in lines. The benefits of living in a small town. Yes, things seem pretty nutty around the country now, but there is historical precedent for these kind of upsets - even in the first decades of our democracy. I'll try to find an interview I heard on NPR with a historian discussing this topic - it was eye-opening to get a broad historical view. Gracious - if those kids don't remember the 60s, then they have no perspective!

Pauly - I hope that you are doing well today - how was your day yesterday? I hope you didn't spend too much time cleaning, but I get it... easier to have stuff OK than to have to deflect comments! How are you feeling about food these days - are you finding stuff that agrees with you? Good luck.

Well, no tummy dramas with the dogs last night, which was good. I worked long and hard for my client yesterday, and boy was I pooped last night! I managed to stay awake for one episode of my favorite fun/benign show 'Monarch of the Glen'... the scenery of Scotland is so spectacular. Getting ready today for a 2-day trip to NYC. What a revolving door here. I suppose today I should try to do some outside work, but we'll see. Hey, all this talk of goats is reminding me that there is actually a guy who rents his goats out for lawn care/brush removal, etc. I may use them instead of having the landscape guy come mow... though they would have to fence off the pachysandra so that it doesn't get eaten! I pass a farm just down the road with 5 beautiful horses -and one goat! Apparently, they are all best friends, and they keep each other more calm than if it was just the horses. Who knew!

Wishing all well for an AF day today. Let's see good life in all the small things....

          Good evening friends,

Glad to report I woke up in a much better mood today. I didn't even get upset when my big dog decided 5:30 was wake up & go outside time - oh well.
I am not used to experiencing mood swings like that, unsettling. By the end of the day yesterday it dawned on me that it could possibly be due to my decreasing my HRT. I am doing a long, slow weaning process but still..... Just grateful it didn't last long & I didn't hurt anyone, ha ha!

Rick Hanson published a fabulous piece today called 'Find the Facts'
Find the Facts - Dr. Rick Hanson
I hope everyone gets a chance to read it before election day. He really spells out our country's history r/t elections over the past 40 years!!

Star, I hope you had a great day with your family!

Cyn, cooking, baking & sewing have always (since I was a kid) been good distractions for me. When I get laser focused on something it's easy to forget my troubles. I just have to remember to not eat too much! I hope your busy weekend goes well.

Pauly, you are standing your ground with your Mom, right? We are with you in spirit friend

Don't forget to mark your calendars to check out the supermoon on the 14th. It's supposed to be spectacular & I probably won't be sleeping anyway, LOL

Wishing everyone peace tonight & always!

            Good morning,

Love the time change. Have my grandson here and he is up so a quick check in.

Cyn, thanks for the info on Texas, I am getting excited to travel. A change of pace will do me good. Kudos to you on early voting, I wish I could have, it would have been a pain here, so might as well go Tuesday. Thanks for the historical perspective, the younger people I work with take alot for granted, not that they're bad or anything, just very little perspective.

Lav, looking forward to reading that piece by Dr. Hanson, it is scary when mood gets out of control. I got really irritable earlier in the week and taking some long walks got rid of the sick feeling in my solar plexus. Super busy day yesterday and I am exhausted, looking forward to an afternoon nap on this lovely Sunday.

Pauly, hope things are going well. I am sure your house is clean enough. We cleaned like crazy too before the kids came over, so now it is done. My husband cleans better than I, so lucky for me he did alot yesterday. Again, be easy on yourself, those intensive visits are hard.

            Have a great AF Sunday!!!!!

              Evening all -

Lav, so glad that you are feeling better. I bet the HRT levels changing played a part... hormones rule! I hope that you continue to feel well! I look forward to the Rick Hanson article.

Pauly - sounds like you are all set! We are right there with you in spirit!

Star - glad that you are having a good weekend, you sound great.

I had a wild morning; on the train to NYC, then met HB and we went to chinatown, walked to lower east side and made our way back to his apartment, seeing people from the marathon in their blue blankets, getting home after the race. Running a marathon! I can't imagine!

I hope all is well with everyone tonight. AF of course. More tomorrow...

                Good evening friends,

                Wow, what a day
I met some old friends for lunch including the one who is moving to Florida later this month. I wonder if well will ever see each other again. We have been friends since the late 60's, oh my.
I received a text message from my son this morning & it was a nice one! He asked if he could bring the boys over for a visit this afternoon & thanked me for their Halloween treat bags I had left for them. We had a nice visit for a couple of hours, wonderful! There was no mention of my DIL, not by my son or by the boys. It was odd but honestly it felt like a gift from the universe. I don't know how or when we will see them again but at least we have some progress in the right direction, yay.

Star, I am sure you enjoyed the time with your grandson, good for you!
I have never been to Texas so you will have to let me know after your trip.

Cyn, I saw the runners on the news, amazing. I don't even know if I could walk that far, my old stress fractured foot still hurts off & on. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in NYC!

Pauly, what's going on? Did you run into trouble?
                We're here for you!

                Wishing everyone peace tonight!

                  Good morning...

Lav, so happy to hear your son brought your grandsons over. Wonderful, it is the first step. I bet those boys wanted to see you, the world's best grandma! It is odd to think about not seeing someone again, having lost my good friend last year, I think about things like that more than I would like. We were exhausted yesterday after everyone left and had a nice day relaxing and recovering. HaHa. I am excited about going to a new place, it will be interesting. So glad I am AF.

Cyn, what a busy day for you, but sounds fun. I can't imagine even training for a marathon. There was one in the city I live in too. Great weather for it here.

Pauly, sure you are busy with visiting, hope you are good.

                  Tomorrow, election day. Yikes.

                    Greetings Star,

Glad to see you, don't know where everyone has gone, ha ha!

I really did feel better today after seeing the kids yesterday. I have no idea what happens next & I am not going to get into worrying about the future. There really is something to Tolle's Power of Now
I'm glad we both had good times with the young ones this weekend.

Cyn, wondering if you are on your way home yet. You are probably exhausted after your weekend.

Pauly, check in especially if there's a problem. You know we are here to help.

I am a bit scattered trying to keep up with new business. Every year it's the same mad rush before the holidays. I appreciate my return customers, some I have had for many years. The new ones tend to be a little hyper, ha ha!

Peace to everyone tonight & stay warm - frost warnings in effect!!

                      Good morning...

Election Day!!!! I am leaving early to vote, have a full day of work so will keep this brief.

Lav, good to be busy, hope you make lots of the cash. I am looking forward to the holidays, I bought some dishes instead of using paperplates. I just felt like it! I feel like celebrating and I am. Did you vote early? I can't remember. Hope your day is great and busy.

Shout out to Cyn and Pauly. Have a good one.

I am waiting for YB to return from a meeting then we will go vote.
Feeling happy because I just received an invitation to go to grandparents day at my grandson's Kindergarten next Monday. Getting closer to 'normal' I think

Have a good AF afternoon everyone.

Hey - I've been really anxious. And it's over the top today.

Lav and Star - thanks so much for'holding the fort'! Sorry I was AWOL last night... went to an evening event, and it was late when we arrived home, pooped. I got up early and headed out on the train, did errands and chores once I got home, and just now sat down to collect myself.

Lav, what good news about your son and the boys... and going to grandparent's day! Wow, that is really positive, thank goodness.

Star - it sounds like you had a busy busy time last weekend. When do you go to TX?

Pauly - how is it going? We're here to cheer you on!

Nora - so nice to see you here. I know, it will be good to get all of this over with and move forward out of this 'holding pattern'. Thx for the link.

I spent all day yesterday in HB's apartment. Lucky boy, I cleaned it well (all 600 sq feet!) and then settled in to get my business FB page up and running so that I can get the word out about Operation Paperback (collecting books for troops) before Veteran's Day. Barely got all of that done before we needed to leave for the evening. Next step is to get an email marketing program set up to mail out to my list... uuugh all of this is cumbersome, but I think it will all have a good result. I'll be doing that tonight instead of watching election stuff... I've heard too many talking heads already today!

Wishing everyone peace and good deep breaths tonight - AF of course --

I don't think I have everr had so much anxiety over an election
We will be OK, I have faith in tbe universe.

Cyn, are you burning the candle at both ends again young lady? LOL
You sure are a busy person & I know Operation Paperbackbis going to be a huge success
Don't forget to pencil in some 'me time'!!!!

I have to say that even the polling place here in cow country was doing a booming business today! I was voter #577 at 3 pm. I didn't even know we had that many residents in this township. You never see them, where do they hide??? Ha ha.

Peace for all of us tonight.

OMG, we have a president who is a misogynist racist criminal and I am sick about it. In the next four years the economy will tank, we will be at war, and our rights will be gone.

Having said that, I voted, did my part, and will now have to use all the skills I learned to somehow come to terms with this. AF for me all the way, no matter what.

Lav, so happy you are getting to go to Grandparent's Day, it is so fun! Hopefully the DIL has cooled down a bit or is thawing. May the hopeful trend continue!!!!

Cyn, busy time for you it is sometimes hard to check in every day. I am going to Texas Saturday and won't be back till Friday of next week, so hope to be able to check in, not sure.

Nora, thanks for an article full of hope, even in the bad times. Michael Moore was right, Trump could and did get elected. I still can't believe how bad this is for the country and the entire world.

Pauly, please check in if you can or even if you can't, we miss you.

Hump Day, have a happy AF one.
