    Hello all -

Star, take a deep breath, I hate to hear you so upset!!! I hope things calm down for you. I'm so glad your son got in for an MRI. RE turkey; Actually, it turned out great, amazingly. This fresh turkey that we had didn't come with a pop-up timer (which I normally put use). I must make a note to pick those up next year (IF I do a turkey again, ha!).

Pauly, I love the idea of a manly doll house! Have fun with that. I think that holidays are really hard to stay centered through. The rampant consumerism is hard to combat, and I feel like it takes a toll on our souls.

Lav - I love the chalkboard idea! How great that YB is participating in that way... Are you swamped in your business? Yours is one that should definitely be supported! A real human being making pretty things.

Well, SD is off to home, and HB is now back from the city. I am tired of the revolving door! I need some peace and quiet - although I must say, the pups slept like babes last night, and that was a real relief.

Wishing all some inner peace, and a good 14 second memorized memory.

      Good evening friends,

Warming my toes in front of the fire again. I think my circulation must be slowing down because I am always feeling so cold lately OR maybe, just maybe my hormones have finally settled down - geez!

Star, I think I would avoid the netti pot like Pauly said - it's best not to disturb irritated nasal tissue.
Does your son have any issue with high blood pressure, anemia? Does he use NSAIDS? They thin your blood & can cause nose bleeds & bruising. Well, it's good that he is scheduled for an MRI, at least you will get a better picture of what's going on.
Keep yourself focused & stay positive. We all know that over worrying will not help anything. Enjoy the season & think about the good stuff coming

Pauly, maybe Louie would like the Fisher-Price farm set. My kids had one when they were little & I picked one up at a consignment shop for the grandkids. They have all had a lot of fun with it
Amazon.com: Fisher-Price Little People Animal Friends Farm: Toys & Games
Like a doll house but with animals, ha ha!

Cyn, yes, this time of year people suddenly remember they need personalized gifts & then they remember me. I do my best to keep everyone happy. I hope YB's chalkboard plan works out OK. I am going to track down some nice accessories to go with it so my granddaughter's need to be a good teacher will be fulfilled, LOL
I hope the rest of the weekend is nice & quiet for you!

My daughter tells me that she is able to do some partial weight bearing now with the boot on & no crutches. It has been a very long haul for her & I know she is hoping to get to work in her new field soon. That would be a blessing

      Peace to all tonight!
      Lav

        Good morning all...

Thanks for your support re: my son. I went shopping with a friend yesterday and she told me that in the past her son had ongoing nosebleeds after several rounds of earaches and sinus infections, similar situation. He had to have something cauterized and get a humidifier, so that made me feel better. I was exhausted yesterday and slept over 9 hours last night. Geez. Never thought of alcohol, just for the record.

Pauly, nothing wrong with girls playing with traditional boy toys too, kids are just kids and like to try out all kinds of toys and play. Fun. Regarding mood, it comes and goes, our moods always change thank goodness. I am OK with having things low key, I think part of the reason I became so upset is too much going on after being gone for a week, I just need rest and quiet, so took time yesterday to just be, took a nap, then picked up pizza. Take care of yourself if you can.

Lav, glad to hear your daughter is moving forward in healing, what a tough break for her. The weather changed so quickly our bodies need time to catch up! I will take your advice and focus on the positive, today should be a good day, exercise, grocery shop and relaxing at home, just the way I like it.

Cyn, my son always has this affect on me, my fault, but he always has drama, I try to detach and do better at times. I am OK now, thanks for your concern. Nice your husband is home and you two can relax a bit, enjoy. Regarding being pushed to buy stuff for Christmas, even the news shows are advertising and I am sick of it. All this, "need to have," and never having enough is a sickness at this time of year. What ever happened to spending family time, listening to music, enjoying the lights, etc., rather than the greed. I am focusing on the above and starting a spiritual practice, I think this is the first Sunday of Advent, a time of contemplation and preparation. That way leads to peace. Anyway, hope you have a nice Sunday.

        Have a great AF Sunday.

Well, back to work tomorrow, and I think I need my regular routine.

          Morning all -

Star, I so get it - being away and then having to do a big holiday feast is just SO hard!! I know you are like me, and need quiet and some routine to cling to. I don't ever have enough routine for my satisfaction, but I could do a better job of making more pleasant things routine. I also feel like all the fat and unusually rich food (for me) has left my liver sluggish and me cranky. Next year everyone is going to have to eat clean with me! Good luck with everything, and I hope you get some quiet time today.

Pauly, it sounds like there are lots of great options for Louie's Christmas this year! I hope that things are getting settled and calm for you.

Lav, I have been wondering about your daughter... All this time going upstairs to the bathroom, sheesh what a trial. So glad to hear that she is getting into weight-bearing territory - that's good news!

OK, off to let go of the Cranky Treegirl and to replace that energy with some gentleness, gratitude and clarity. Wishing all some peace today...

Morning friends, Cyn,I agree that its the heavy foods causing sluggish feelings and grouchiness! It's taken me a few days to feel normal again but it was yummy at the time, Kell sent me a pic of Jabba the hut with the caption"just one more piece of pie" and said that was me on Thanksgiving too true!! Lav,glad your daughter is healing quick, my favorite toy as a kid was the Fisher price school, I don't see it around anymore, that's back when the little people were still little andnot choking hazards I guess haha,Star,I am glad your friend had a similar experience and put your fears to rest,at least calmed them down hubs wants to go find firewood today.....it's too cold! He should have done this back when it was still nice, weirdo,I'm not going, plus Louie is sick again so I'm not taking him out,I hope we all have a peaceful, happy AF Sunday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

              Good afternoon friends,

You know how you kind of ignore people with vague complaints? Well, at least I do, haha!
YB spent two days c/o a mild bellyache but he ate well, nothing was different - until this morning. Suddenly the pain was severe & he looked gray.
I drove him to the ER by 9 am& after some bloodwork & a CT scan he's going in the OR right now at 3 pm for an appendectomy, geez!

Let's just say that I am grateful for a clear head & the knowledge of when to take the bull by the horns!!!!
They admitted him into ICU because there were no available beds on the regular floor.
I came home to take care of animals & will go back as soon as I hear from the surgeon.

So that's my Sunday so far, ha ha!
Greetings to Star, Pauly & Cyn.
We will all be OK

Have a great rest of the day!

                Good morning...

Oh my gosh Lav, hope everything goes smoothly, what a thing to happen. I agree it was good you were clearheaded and could take him to the hospital. Another bonus of being AF, driving when you need to.

Pauly, little kids catch everything, sorry Louis is sick again. You sound good, hope things are going great for you.

Cyn, hope you day was peaceful, you deserve it. I agree, the rich food pushed me over the edge, I was cranky yesterday too. Ate lighter and back to work today, routine is good for me. We put up all our Christmas decorations, and it is looking good. Now, just work and eating lighter, yay!

Hope you all have a peaceful and productive AF Monday.

Lav, Holy Cow!!! Thank goodness you knew the danger signs. And I guess it was good that they put him directly into the ER... I'm sending you both a lot of light, and anxious to hear how the surgery turned out. Are you close to a hospital? I know the running back and forth to take care of the pets, etc. can be very wearing. Take care of yourself!

Pauly, sorry to hear that Louie is under the weather. I hope you stay well! BTW - when I wrote about my experience with naltrexone, be sure to note that I was talking about 'Low-dose Naltrexone', which may be a different product than Naltrexone, I'm not sure.

Star, I hope that your day back at work is good. Sounds like your house is beautiful -- I may get some things up, but really need to finish up getting our house winterized (lots of Windows and doors)... "mortite" is my decoration of the moment.

HB is sick again and having sinus troubles again. He is considering changing his diet, but I don't know how that can work if I'm not there to cook for him... Oh well, we'll see.

Wishing all a centered day, AF of course!

Morning friends, Lav how is YB doing? Cyn,yes LDN is a completely different thing than Nal,I mean it's absolutely the same drug but the doses I've read about are teeny, like 1.5 mg to 4 mg compared to the 50 to 300 that addicts are supposed to use,I cut out all artificial sweeteners again including stevia,I read that it has hormonal impact and inhibits serotonin and dopamine,I knew this but yet still drank it cuz it's in my protein shake, I only used the protein shake for the aminos but I have a supplement that has them all anyways, Louie has hand, foot and mouth disease! It sounds so gross and dirty! I guess his cousin who was visiting from FL was just getting over it and of course kids are slobs so I think Lou probably caught it from him hope it passes fast, got all the Christmas decs up yesterday and what a pain it is! Lots of work! Star, how's your son doing? Wishing us all a peaceful AF Monday

                      Greetings friends!

Well, things didn't go exactly as planned but what can you do?
YB managed to spike a temp this afternoon so he's staying in for more IV antibiotics. They are running all the usual cultures (blood & urine). I just got back home a little after 7 pm. I took some soup & soft foods in for him (hospital food is not appetizing) ha ha. So I got him up & walking & pushing his IV pump. I got him eating & drinking a lot of water & doing the spirometer hourly. I set him up in the bathroom with a toothbrush & toothpaste, some clean underwear & sweatpants & told him to get cleaned up, ha ha. Funny how all that is just so routine for me. Now where's my paycheck???
My daughter managed a visit this morning too & she helped me get him off his butt & out walking in the hallway. She is without crutches now & walking fairly well with the boot on her foot & leg. Some family, huh? The Walking Wounded

Star, driving home the past few nights was nice because so many people already have outside Christmas lights up. The lights do make us happy!

Pauly, sorry Louie is sick. Kids are such germ factories. It gets better when they finally learn to keep their hands away from their mouths & faces & learn to wash those hands, ugh! I hope he gets better quickly!
                      Enjoy your Christmas decorations too.

Cyn, nothing is exactly around the corner here in cow country but the hospital is only about 9 miles (just down the same road as Curves).
I don't mind the trip but I have had pretty shitty night vision for the past 20 years. It was always a pain getting to & from work in the dark but you do what you have to do.
I imagine the easiest thing for your husband to do is eliminate dairy! That alone should help his symptoms (maybe not eliminate them).
That is why I went ahead & ordered that home test kit. I want to know exactly what I react to & stop the guessing. Dairy & soy are my biggest problems but I think there's more. Guess I will be finding out soon enough. Should be interesting!

Hello to Dill if you are checking in at all!

                      Wishing everyone a peaceful night!

                        Good morning,

Lav, your husband is getting the best nursing care ever. So good the surgery is over with and kind of good he gets to stay an extra day, easier on you? What is this home kit you ordered? Is it finding out about good allergies because I would like to get it. The Christmas lights are wonderful and make it easier when it is so dark out. I leave for work in the dark and come home in the dark right now. T'is the season.

Pauly, we are all back to work today so not sure about my son. No news is good news I hope. My grandson gets every germ known to man and passes it on too. I just got over some virus I caught from him, then he brought home the stomach flu, thank goodness I did not see him that week or so. Yuck. Still, they are the cutest! Hope you start feeling better, I try to eliminate artificial sweetners, but not 100%, one of my fav AF drinks has it in there, and I am not worrying about it. I love water but in the afternoon, need something else too.

Cyn, I love this house, it is smaller, a three bedroom ranch, but with the modern open concept, which I like. I love decorating for Christmas, instant positive results, light, color, just beautiful. So sorry about your husband getting another sinus infection, that is really tough. Thinking about changing his diet is hard when he works so much and is not home. Hope he gets some time off for Christmas.

                        Have a great AF Tuesday!

                            Morning all -
Lav -exactly, where's your paycheck!!!!! Wow, what great care - I'd have you in my corner any day. Sorry about the night vision, that must be tough. What good news about your daughter! I hope that YB's temp behaves and that there are no other complications. Hang in there...

Pauly - wow, I didn't know that humans got that disease... It must be a fungus or something? Live and learn! How good of you to walk away from the artificial sweeteners - I have also read terrible things about their effect on the body. Great job treating yourself right!

Star - less than a month now until the light turns around! I'm glad that you have solace in your lights and decorations. I just haven't gotten the spirit yet for all of that, despite the snow (which is all gone now and sheesh lots of wet leaves, oh well). Wishing you happy light solace.

I am down with a nasty cold, a gift from HB. I think I got too tired making the holiday, and didn't do myself any good by eating all 3 of my big inflammatory foods: gluten, dairy and sugar. Next year, turkey or not, the sides will all be something that I can eat! I was supposed to go into the city and meet with a client today, but had to re-schedule, darn. Note to self: rest, care, and awareness, top of the list...

Wishing all a good AF Tuesday...

Morning friends, Cyn,you're thinking of hoof and mouth I think, this is hand, foot and mouth some virus and I have to admit that I feel a little guilty cuz poor Louie always wants to wash his hands but he's so thorough I get impatient and just have him rinse them, ugh, terrible Nan! I hope you feel better quickly Star, congrats on 100 days! I was craving a diet coke so bad in the afternoon yesterday plus I miss my shake in the morning, keeps me full longer, not sure how long this experiment is gonna last!Lav,keep us posted on YB,glad your daughter is walking with the boot I'm ordering one of those kits after Christmas, this is weird but I used to use coconut oil every morning, now that I've laid off it my allergies are about 80% better! I dunno if maybe I have an allergy to coconut or it was causing die off, something changed though, I also think eggs mess me up,I am dying to know what else is making me sick,Dill posted in the 24 hour thread yesterday lovely to see her around, wishing us all a nice AF Tuesday:

                                Good evening friends.

Is it really only Tuesday?? Ha ha!
I certainly have been busy, maybe too busy?

YB is still in the hospital. He continues to have a good deal of pain & his temp spikes so he's still getting the IV antibiotics. He had a CT scan this afternoon that showed the intestines are almost at a standstill so that's why the pain continues. It also showed a density in his lower lung, so he may be developing pneumonia. His nurse just called me at 9:30 pm to tell me she got a follow up chest xray ordered which is good. Geez, nothing is ever easy. The older the patient the more complications.....
He will be fine but it's going to take a while. I guess my nursing skills won't hurt, ha ha!

Star, take a look at the food sensitivity test I ordered. Cyn & Pauly, you two may be interested as well.

I firmly believe most of our maladies are the result of some food intolerance or another. If we can figure out what to eat to feel our best - why not?

Cyn, I hope you can rest up & feel better quickly. I am not a patient patient myself, if you know what I mean. Be kind to yourself!

                                Star, CONGRATS on turning 100!!!!!!!

Pauly, I will not use any artificial sweetener, not ever. I have read the research on what they do to your gut, nervous system & more.
I don't drink any soda anymore, bad for the bones too (the phosphorus draws calcium out of your bones)

After all that I wish everyone a peaceful night!
