    The Day After, thank goodness....

We had a lovely time but were all exhausted with all the food, visiting and gifts. I made too many things and could not enjoy myself as much as I wanted too so have to rethink the entire thing for next year. I was stressed and it was alot of work, same as Thanksgiving. This time I made several things ahead of time, but it still turned out to be exhausting. Hey, I weighed myself this morning and it was not as good as I hoped but not as bad as I feared. Haha.

Lav, like how you reframed the absence of your DIL, I think that is the only way to go. Nice to have your boys around you. Yes, I know it will be wild with two grandsons, I grew up with two brothers and there was alot of wrestling going on, all the time. It was fun. A fitbit eh? I bet it will be helpful in knowing where you are at exercise wise, what else does it do?

Pauly, hope your day was good, I was craving a little bit yesterday when I was so tired in the middle of things, but just kept on drinking my tea. Figured it was the tired part of halt and felt better as the day went on, but achy.

Cyn, sounds like a lovely time, and your chicken and veggies were a sensible and delicious plan, bet you feel good today. My husband has a cold and was irritable, couldn't hear, then when I repeated louder, said I was yelling at him. Good grief, the joys of Christmas.

Hello to Dill and Lizann, let's proceed through out holiday week AF and positive.

      Happy Boxing Day!

Many congratulations Star! Such wonderful news! What a nice Christmas surprise from your daughter and SIL.

Hi Liz, Lav, Pauly and Cyn. Let's have another AF holiday. They are the best!

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

        Good morning!

Lav, I have a fitbit type thing too. I forgot to to wear it on Friday and decided to just keep it off all weekend. The scale was not kind this morning! Was DIL alone when your guys came over. Seems she is "cutting off her nose, to spite her face".

Star congrats on the new baby boy coming! How exciting!

Dill, we used to eat. Mrs Ts all the time, until we found a polish deli a few miles from here. They are so good and taste like the ones my MIL used to make! Sorry about the situation you are dealing with. Sending hugs your way!

Pauly, you picture on fb made my mouth water yesterday! Louie is too cute!

We had a great weekend. I ate way more than I should have. My dad got emotional when he congratulated me becoming a grandma. That got me really emotional too. Our middle daughter CJ bought us a game called speak out for Christmas. We took it along to my sisters house and played yesterday. We laughed until our sides hurt! Soo much fun. I got a coloring book and gel pens and already started coloring yesterday. It's fun. Hubby (I shall call me DH now) got a puzzle. It's our tradition to leave the pads on the dining room table after the holidays and work on a puzzle. He worked on last night and is at it again today.
So sadly today my "fitbit" will be back on and I must run/walk.
Just wondering if today is a holiday for anyone else? DH and daughter are working, Mark and I have a holiday.

Morning friends, Star,i completely missed the post yesterday when you announced that you were having a little grandson!! Congratulations I'm very happy for you how did she keep it hidden from you for so long? Lav,I love my fitbit Liz,I was supposed to be off but the lady who was supposed to be covering my shift changed her mind last night, I'm a little resentful and irritated but I guess routine is good, plus I spent a lot of money on Christmas so time to replace those funds,Dill, how's your son doing? Cyn,hope you had a peaceful day yesterday, I kept forgetting to put stuff in the oven! Had my ham all glazed and ready to be thrown in, got distracted opening presents, went into the kitchen and seen it on the stove!then I forgot to cook the corn had to wait, then I called Brady down to eat and realized something was missing, I had forgot to mash the potatoes! Told him nevermind not yet,I dunno what was going on with my brain yesterday haha, bleh, off to get ready for stupid work wishing everyone a peaceful AF Monday

            Good dvening friends!

Took advantage of a no company day today & went to Curves. No time like the present to start working off the perogies, ha ha!!!

Star, the Fitbit also tracks your sleep. It tells me that I slept 7 hrs, 32 min, was awake 1X & restless 5X. Must have had too much coffee, ha ha! It tells you how many calories you've burned from exercise & steps. If you want to you can keep track of what you eat & how much water you consume. Useful gadget I think. Oh, it also buzzes you to get off your butt if you fall behind the number of steps you should be taking per hour, LOL

Hi Dill, hope you day was grand

Liz,my DIL definitely is cutting off her nose to spite her face. I think of that a lot but also think she is old enough to make her own decisions. I think she is causing a lot of confusion especially for her own kids but it's her choice. She is not the reason I am restless at night,it's caffeine overload, ha ha! Make friends with your Fitbit again

Pauly, Years agoI decided I was tired of forgetting stuff in the kitchen so I take a minute to actually write out the menu & include times things should go in the oven, etc.
It's frustrating when you finish up a big meal only go find you forgot to take the cole slaw out of the fridge or something dumb like that. I hope your day wasn't too bad.

Cyn, hope you had a swell day too!

Have a peaceful & restful night everyone!

            Lav

              Good morning All,

Liz, I love times of laughter with family, sharing time together, playing a game. Your family time sounds lovely!

Pauly, I'm already going thru TWD withdrawals! Does FTWD come on again anytime soon? Even though it isn't as good, it is at least something!
I think it returns in April.

Cyn, Lav, Star, AF greetings! I am still not terribly caught up in holiday fever and am pretty much just enduring. I am happy to read everybody's posts about holiday doings. I think I am living vicariously right now, so keep it coming! LOL

                Good morning,

Well, it cooled off a bit today, highs only in the 30s. Yesterday it was in the 60s, just so easy to get around. My husband caught a cold, so after working out he rested, I made french onion soup, and we watched movies. Today is his last day off before going back to work, so after our morning appointment, we may go downtown and find something to do or a movie. Not sure, it is too early to tell.

Pauly, we knew my daughter was pregnant, she did IVF again, but we did not know the sex, so finding that out was very exciting. She is due at the end of May. Then that will be it for her. My son is not in a relationship, so this may be it for our family, and we are grateful to have two grandchildren, very grateful. Your grandson is just adorable, how much fun do you have watching him, very lucky!

Lav, that fitbit knows so much about you. I need to get all sugar out of my life for a while, I threw a bunch out except for some cookies that were a gift, and froze them. Sugar hurts my stomach, so I know it is not good for me.

Dill, very excited about the grandbaby, hope things are OK. Any time to read? I have not had time but in the upcoming days, with hubby back at work, I will have lots of time to read several books I downloaded on my tablet. No more holiday celebrations for us, New Year's Eve is just another day, I will make seafood and we will stay in, hot tub it weather permitting, and try to stay up till Midnight!

Liz, sounds like you had a good time, stayed AF, and that is the goal we are all seeking.

                Shout out to Cyn!

                Have a great AF Tuesday!

Morning friends, want to say I was cool with working yesterday but I kept the resentment all day! Even though I prayed(literally) while driving to work for a better attitude I still was irritated by everyone, oh well, its done,Star, new years is just another day for me too although I try to see how I can declutter my house, get my journal ready for the year, etc i also think I react worse to sugar than anything else!grease too I've noticed,Dill,Christmas would have been perfect with a brand new TWD episode! They shoulda surprised us with one haha nothing's on ATM,I've just been watching 600 lb life seems like its always on,Lav,your sleep is better than mine, fitbit says 6 hrs 23 min 14 times restless, 4 times awake, sheesh no wonder I'm so groggy all the time,Cyn,you're kinda quiet, everything OK? Liz,are you back to work today? Wishes for a positive, productive AF Tuesday for us all doggone it

                    Good morning!

Pauly, I so understand that resentment thing! I sadly do that too. I managed to get the day off today. Ann (my coworker) is on vacation this week, after all that sick time! One of the techs is filling in for me.

So exciting about all the babies coming this spring! Erin and I are going maternity clothes shopping today and then out to lunch! I have enjoyed my days off. Hope you all enjoy your Tuesday.

Just a quick check in before bed. I'll be working the next three days and may not have time to post. Had a fun day with my daughter shopping and lunch today. Spent the evening in the urgent care center with DH who sliced his finger to the bone on a new blade while fixing the snow blower! He is thankfully fine and they patched him up. Never a dull moment.
                      Hope you are all well,

                          Good evening friends!

For absolutely no reason whatsoever I apparently got two less hours of sleep last night than I did the night before - says Fitbit, ha ha! I remember waking up multiple times but thought I was going back to sleep, guess not. Oh well, I did better with the step count today

Dill, I am happy the holiday thing is basically over. I am making plans to do some big time de-cluttering around here. I like to start the new year with less STUFF! So that's where my focus will be - health & less clutter!

Star, sugar causes all kinds of inflammation. We end up with headaches, stomachaches, joint pain not to mention diabetes & heart disease. Who needs all that?
Yesterday I found & made a recipe for a non-dairy substitute for gruyere cheese. OMG, it was awesome & I worked it right into a turkey noodle casserole - yum! Dairy is my major inflammatory food so I steer clear at all costs.

Pauly, sounds like we both have the de-cluttering bug
Shall we make it a contest to see who gets rid of the most stuff??

Liz, maternity clothes are not what they used to be, thank goodness, ha ha! I hope you had fun shopping & lunching!

                          Wishing everyone a peaceful night!

                            Good morning...

I don't know how many hours I slept, but I slept hard, had to set the alarm, husband ahs to go back to work today and we both need to get up! Having coffee and trying to be coherent.

Lav, I love decluttering, that is on m list of things to do now, pantry, closets, and a dresser I am looking to replace. I want to clean out the refrigerator too, so will be busy in the next few days. It does feel good to get rid of things we don't use. You are right about the sugar, I have been waking up stiff and achy and have vowed/promised myself no sugary foods till February 1. I want to give myself a month to recover from all the junk I have eaten. I have stayed AF however, so feel good about that, going on five months soon and will keep that going forever.

Pauly, regarding work, I was talking to someone on Christmas who had bragged in the summer they were not working anymore, now back to work saying they were grateful to be getting out of the house. I just responded that I love working, but maybe not every second I am at work. I am still young and have a pretty good schedule (9-5) so feel good about work for the most part. But I do sometimes feel like I would like to call off,and it will be hard to go back next week.

Lizann, how fun to shop for maternity clothes, they have some cute stuff. I work with some people who call off or miss work all the time too. It is not fair, but it happens. I just don't call off much at all. I save my time off for vacations and holidays as much as I can. I am grateful to have good health. It is annoying though when people leave early to get their hair and nails done, yes, that is not right.

Hello to Cyn and Dill, hope you are doing well.

Have a happy AF hump day!

Morning friends, just posted on the daily thread that my 64 year old coworker was attacked outside a casino at 4 am yesterday! Stole her purse, beat her and took off, luckily the security has it on camera, I'm really glad it wasn't worse! Star, I plan on working well into my 70's if I'm healthy enough, a lot of my customers that age still work and they're usually the happiest I was just resentful Monday cuz I feel like the day after Christmas should be a relaxed day and I had it all planned, this is the same coworker who was attacked that was supposed to cover me,crazy stuff, not much else in Paulysville so I'll just say a big hello to Lav,Cyn,Dill and Liz,wishing everyone a wonderful AF Wednesday

Hello all - all is fine here, we have just been traveling and traveling.

Monday I got up and cleaned house early, then reset for the dog sitter, packed and got on a train to NYC by 4 PM. Got up at 4 AM to get to the airport, then traveled all day, arriving at our friend's party 'retreat' last evening. I was totally out of sync with everything, and am today trying to 'get in the group dynamic' with the 14 other people who are here, interesting.

So glad to hear that the holidays went OK for all - I think we are all glad that this is over, right? On to our New Year's resolutions to de-clutter and eat well. (And of course above all, live AF.) I know we will move toward our goals of health and stability!!!

I will write more in the coming days, but must get ready now for the Birthday celebration for our hostess - we will be part of a 'gift' performance tonight. I'll be relieved when that's over.

So glad for the baby news, Star and Liz" Dill, hope you are hanging in there, I'm sure the kids were thrilled with your holiday for them. Good luck to your son. Pauly, what a scary story about your co-worker, hope you are doing OK - good info from the fit bit! Lav, great to hear that all went well, and so glad the boys were with you.

Take care all - more in the coming days.

                                May we be well...
