Morning friends, Star, the only thing I'll say is that I had panicky sleep and woke up with a racing heart thinking about today I absolutely love your AF positive attitude! Lav,glad your lunch was fun Cyn,I checked out that site and was reading a dog treat recipe, Winslow wouldn't touch those with a ten foot pole haha,he's been eating human food since he was a pup so his treats are meat and doritos,I'm not sure what's up with me and probiotics, maybe my guts are extremely messed up and can't tolerate huge colonies of good bacteria, Liz,when I bought the first pack of diapers I just had to open them up and look at how tiny they were! Dill, you're right about little granddaughter probably feeling unsure right now,I'd be Leary to give a child melatonin unless absolutely necessary, uggh, sinuses feel clogged its the weather but its annoying, wishing us all a happy AF FridayI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:
I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Good evening friends,
I have to admit that I had some intense dreams last night too, concerned about the future of our country. I decided to do what a lot of other people were doing & not watch the inauguration on TV. But then I found myself watching the BBC coverage on Facebook & actually burst into tears for a quick moment at the swearing in I felt physically sick afterwards too. We have to live with this now for 4 years. My son posted pictures of himself & his crew on the empty stage in front of the capitol. It makes me worried for all of us. The CNN updates coming on my phone show that life as we know it is already being dismantled piece by piece (repealing the ACA is now official policy signed by the new president).
Sorry to be so gloomy, just stating facts. If you look at the .gov website you'll see that certain pages disappeared today such as the climate page & the info page for the LGBT community & HIV info. This is helping people???
I'll just wish everyone a peaceful night & hope to be more settled tomorrow.

Good morning...
I did not watch the inauguration, unfortunately heard part of the speech, just more of the same, stupid gloom and doom, ignoring history and the truth. Sad and scary. Going to the Women's March today for all of us, knowing that there are sister marches all over the US today. Weather, cloudy and in the 60s in January. Wow.
Lav, I have serious concerns too about our new unpopular corrupt gov't and will remain as active as I can, protesting against evil harmful law they create, we have to keep our democracy. Hope you have a good day.
Hey Pauly, I just take a few vitamins and nothing else, try and eat things that don't upset my stomach and are good for me. I have lost a few pounds and joined a challenge at work at the end of 12 weeks I wll get a free fit-bit, so a activity and goal. I needed something. Have you been able to see your daughter in town for the catering job? I get to go to the Women's March with my daughter and a close friend of hers I have known for year, really looking forward to it.
Dill, hang in there, hope you get a little time to yourself. I think your daughter is having nightmares due to all the stuff going on in her life. She is so lucky you are there. Hope your son is doing OK, my son is hanging in there looking for jobs, a few interviews, nothing solid, it will be going on three weeks soon.
Cyn, hope your computer problems are resolved, have a good Saturday.
Hello to Lizann.
Have a good one, AF.

Evening all,
I am done with my presentation and getting things put away tonight. I'm off to NYC to see Mr. Tree tomorrow... I would love to skip it, but he's feeling pretty lonely this week, and it will be our only time until next weekend. I'm staying overnight and seeing a new client on Monday morning, so I'm getting ready for the dog sitter this evening.
Yes, it's been a rocky couple of days... our local paper, which comes out on Thursdays, had the first of a series of articles about Antisemitism here in our corner of the world. Really inflammatory posters, right where I shop and do laundry, etc, though I did not see them. The posters are laminated, so whoever is doing this is serious. I tried to put the whole issue out of my mind for just a day, but the confluence with larger political things was hard to turn away from. I don't want to dilute our thread with political talk, so if I am gone from writing for awhile, it may be because I just have too much emotion about things going on and I find it hard to post about anything else. I will always try to find positives to bring to this page. As I told my audience today, peace begins at home...
Lav, so glad your birthday lunch went well. I hope Maxie lets you sleep tonight. Dill, how is it going with granddaughter? Liz, getting the diapers sounds fun; glad that you still have dishs and utensils for kids. Pauly, I was thinking of making those dog treats for myself! I thought the site had some interesting info on the microbiome; though yes, these sites always seem to be selling something. Star, I loved hearing about your happy moment. Truly inspired by your AF days.
Wishing everyone some peace tonight. Love yourselves and see whatever good you can wherever you can.
To the light...

Good evening friends!
I managed to watch the entire Women's march in DC on C-Span today. At times I felt sad & a bit scared but basically felt strong & empowered by the end. I signed up for the Women's March Movement via text message. I will stay involved. If anyone is interested just text 'Women' to 406-49. They get right back to you
I just knew my daughter & I would never be able to handle the whole day in DC -- we both still have painful left feet. Ridiculous but true. I'm limping every single day by 11 am & so is my daughter ;(
Star, glad you were able to go to your march -- awesome!
Pauly, I hope your day went OK. Keep that positive spin going
Cyn, we are all in this mess together so please don't feel you need to hide your feelings. if there is anything we can do please just give us the word
I hope your trip goes well.
Hello to Liz & Dill!
Wishing everyone a peaceful night!

Mornin...
Attended the Women's March in my city yesterday and there were thousands of women, men, kids, teens, it was inspiring, yet sad at the same time. We are Americans and have to fight and be activists for human rights, health care, etc., etc., etc. Geez, what is going on with people believing Trump, I just don't get it. What is going to happen when millions, yes, millions of people lose their health insurance? No replacement of course. This will negatively affect the economy too, you watch.
Cyn, it is very upsetting, depressing, that racists, antisemites, and all haters feel free to speak their prejudices to hurt people different from them, thanks to the current administration. That was pretty clear at the March yesterday, but it was also positive in that thousands of people took the time, made posters, gathered together and put their positive energy forward. People were courteous, polite, positive, the speakers shared their stories and their concerns in a respectful and intelligent manner. There ARE good people, we just have to make sure to get out and vote, protest, speak out for right and tolerance, and other things to move forward. I have had a few people say they are sick and tired of the protests, and I say too bad, we have to speak out or evil will triumph completely, so please Cyn, post and vent as you need to, this is an important part of our AF journeys. I agree with you - to the light.
Lav, the March was awesome, the weather was perfect, the message was good, I was so happy I went and very blessed to feel good. Sorry to hear about you and your daughter's physical issues, and I like that you are doing what you can from where you are. I was wondering how many are drinking at their feelings about what is going on, rather than doing what they can in a healthy way.
Pauly, hope your weather improves, the West has been bombarded with snow, rain, wind, lots of wintry weather this year. Good time to spend time at home watching movies, shows, cooking stews, soups, reading good books, working on crafts, playing music, I am just listing things I do or want to do as soon as the next winter weather episode hits us. As you have a longer and longer time AF, what are the most positive things you notice?
Liz, fun planning the wedding, sorry you are getting a cold, take care.
Dill, hope you are doing well.
Happy AF Sunday.

Morning friends, raining yet again! Not much planned today, groceries and just taking it easy with Louie, hate not getting any fitbit steps but I don't seem to feel very motivated to exercise today, celebrated LB's b-day yesterday cuz she wanted to do it before her boyfriend flies back home, plus I'm having the wisdom tooth pulled on Thursday and I don't know how I'll feel next weekend, she loved her stuff+the money of course, them we had a brownie cheesecake, so good!Star, the positives I notice are basically just feeling alive,I don't physically feel better some days,I'm still tired, headachey, etc but nothing like when drinking, ugh that was sheer hell! Cyn,please post your feelings here,I need to talk this stuff out cuz I have nobody in real life (except my girls) to sort out the feelings I have about all of this political b.s.keeping it locked up ain't gonna help anything, Dill,I know you hate political talk but I hope you'll stick with us,none of us can avoid a difference of opinion and we're friends and friends disagree on opinion sometimes,Lav,there's no way you two could have been on your feet that long, probably get a stress fracture or something, shoulda rented a couple of those wheelie carts that people speed around in haha, those people try to run me over in Walmart all the time! Liz,its cute you were looking through the kids' baby stuff,I do that and cry too, weird I didn't use any of their things for Louie,I think cuz he was a first baby I wanted everything to be new haha, anyhoo I've rambled long enough, wishing us all a happy AF SundayI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

Hello all - quick good night and wishing you all a good Monday. Congrats on the marching and all the good wishes for this land of ours. Action for what we believe, and care for others is the way of the future for us. That is a good reality.
I'll be on my way home tomorrow AM, but this evening we went to a movie - "Lion". I knew nothing about it, but it is very inspiring and sobering at the same time. There are so many people at risk in the world, we are so privileged. I highly recommend the movie, I'm glad that I got a chance to see it.
I hope all are taking good care and feeling well - Liz, I hope you sidestep this cold.

Geez, after 10 pm already - where did the day go?
Well, actually I did some work, some food shopping, some cooking & had my son & grandsons here for dinner!
They showed up with Christmas gifts - what??? Yep, my DIL purchased & wrapped gifts for us. Don't know what to think. Of course my son was his usual silent self but my grandson told me he thinks his mom is going to want to come over soon. I really don't know what to think about this but I'm thinking she's better show up with an explanation for her damn bizarre behavior, ha ha!
There's a Nor'easter due to arrive around 5 am - big wind advisory issued & all that. I have an appointment to get my teeth cleaned tomorrow, maybe not.
Star, I am so glad that your day went well yesterday. I was so happy to see the entire world joined in & marched right along with the US
I certainly will do anything & everything I can to help the cause. I have also thought how great it is having a perfectly clear head right now & not witnessing this historic mess in a fog.
Pauly, I don't have a license to drive one of this motorized scooters, ha ha! Decades ago someone ran over my foot with one of those at Longwood Gardens. no wonder my foot breaks so easily these days, geez!
Glad you had the birthday celebration with your daughter. Today was my son-in-law's birthday too. We got him a gift certificate at an indoor shooting ranger he likes
Liz, wedding planning, baby planning - it's all a lot of fun, enjoy
Hello to Dill, hope everything & everyone is OK.
Cyn, we're thinking about you with love :
Have a peaceful night everyone.

It rained allll day and just no mojo, did go to a new Mexican place and bought tacos though the rain was so hard Louie didn't even want to get out of the car haha,Cyn,what was the movie about? I've never even heard of it,I miss out on so many movies,I'm also thinking of canceling my Dish network and just getting basic cable,I need TV or I'll die but I'm paying $107 now for Dish, that's too much! Cable company said they'd charge $90 a month for internet and TV,not sure for how long though, there's also the firestick we're thinking about, I just dunno what to do but I need to do something, hubs tried bargaining with them yesterday and they said if we drop 3 of the bedrooms TV they'll charge $10 less....yippee anyhoo wishing us all a happy AF MondayI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

Greetings friends!
This Nor'easter is crazy Liz! I thought we had put things away outside but apparently we forgot some stuff so it's blowing all over the place. Th echickens are cranky because I won't let them go out to play!
I skipped my morning Curves run & just went for a dental cleaning at 11 am. I'll be going back next Monday to get something done with a tooth I broke last month while munching on almonds, ha ha. You just can't win
Star, you sound like you have a busy week coming up. I hope it all goes well. Great that you had some grandson time too.
Pauly, somehow on another my DIL got into selling LuLaRoe so she sent me this long, long sweater type thing (hangs down almost to my ankles), ha ha, & a few nice little things (fragrance, etc). I don't know what this turn of events means so I guess I'll just wait & see. We may have up to 3" of rain by the time this storm is done tomorrow.
I am currently paying $170/month to our cable company for TV, internet & phone. 14 years we first arrived here there was no cable company servicing this area so we had to get Dish (it sucked) & had to use a dial-up modem (seriously sucked). So we pestered a cable company & got a bunch of neighbors to agree to sign on if they would run the cable down our road - and they did
Cyn, please check in with us soon. Same with you Dill.
Have a peaceful evening everyone!
