    Re: Motivated in May

Morning all. Whew what a relief to feel a cool breeze coming in the few screened windows I have ready to open!

BIG storm last night. Great cracks of thunder and lightening that seemed like it was going to come right into the room. After a lucky lifetime of owning dogs with no storm sensitivity, last night my failing girl dog was really undone by the storm. They really can sense the change in the electrical field before the lightening strikes, poor dear. And it was hot as Hades in the bedrooms, uuugh. So I finally got the poor panting shaking girl down to the lower level where it was cool and we could'nt see or hear all the hullabaloo as much. I slept down there with her on the couch... not a particularly great night's sleep.

Lav, that watch is used with kids - in fact the poster child is an epileptic kid who uses it for warnings: Embrace Watch by Empatica, check it out! Pauly, how crazy is it that we were hotter here! I've heard from friends in our old desert state that they are topping 100 already, uuugh! Glad to hear that you are having a little cool. Star, sending you and your daughter good wishes, I hope all goes well.

Off to get ready for another long day. PS, I read an article yesterday about new, terrible viruses that ticks are carrying now. Awful... so glad I have my anti-tick routine down, but I think I'm going to do a last push and then sign off for the rest of the season and the fall. Only winter work for me now out in the back areas in the coming years...

Wishing all a great AF Friday ---

        Re: Motivated in May

        Good evening friends,

It hit 93 again today - ugh! We had big storm warnings this afternoon but got nothing more than a few drops of rain. At any rate the temp is supposed to be 20 degrees cooler tomorrow so YAY!!!

Star, thinking of you & your family & hope everything is OK

Cyn, the storm you got bypassed us entirely!
My dogs have no issues with storms but you never know, that could change. I understand the current crop of ticks is carrying something worse than Lyme disease. I can't even imagine. YB ended up in the hospital for IV antibiotics for a Lyme infection the summer of 2001. He was a mess!
It's frightening to work outside trying to dodge PI & ticks & black snakes & who knows what else. We have plenty of possums roaming around so I hope they eat their weight in ticks this summer. I will look into that watch for my grandson although I'm sure his mother would have an attitude about it - of course.

Pauly, when you say it's cold are you talking 60 or 70 degrees? Ha ha!!!
I wish the entire year could be 60-70 degrees - that would be perfection

The news coming out of Washington today is absolutely eye opening. My fav politico Robert Reich is calling for a bill of annulment. Just annul the entire presidency of 45 & begin again. That would be fabulous!
        Wishing everyone a peaceful night!

Morning friends,Lav,it was 55 in the morning when I posted yesterday brrr! Annul the whole thing with DT would be a dream come true read an article about The Rock wanting to run for prez, that would be awesome! (Even tho he shaves his entire body once a week which I find very odd haha) made homemade chicken noodle soup in the crock pot yesterday, used boney chicken and figured maybe I'd get some health benefits,I love my crock pot,was just thinking about it yesterday, Star, its lonely without you here, hope all is well Cyn,hope you have a nice Saturday, off to get ready for work, enjoy this AF day all

Hey Pauly, it's 58 degrees here right now & I am loving it, ha ha!!!!
93 for three days was killing me. I am no summer girl, that's for sure.
YB spread another 2 yards of mulch today, he's keeping busy & staying out of my hair
Glad to hear you made some healthy soup, I love my crockpot too.

Star, we hope you & the family are doing well. Hope to hear from you soon.

            Peace to all tonight!

              Re: Motivated in May

Hey all - quick good night hello. Long day today, too much to explain. I am working on a big political event tomorrow, I'll be glad when that's done. Picked up my newly-fixed mower, so tomorrow has to have some grass clippings in the crystal ball... things are really overgrown here. I'm hoping to get out into the land, I've missed a whole week. But I managed to wash in hot water/tide all my garden clothes, so hopefully any PI oil is gone and I can wear everything without worrying. Now to clean the tools and boots before I set out again. Not sure if I'll get out there tomorrow. Cool weather coming.

Hoping all is well with you folks. Lav, mulching is good for the soul and soil - I have bags placed, ready to go but haven't gotten them spread yet. Pauly, the chicken soup sounds yummy... how are you feeling?

Hopefully more time and energy to write tomorrow - take care all -

                Good morning....

I'm back, hoping to get some time to myself. My grandson was born on Thursday, 9 lbs, 5 oz, a chunky little baby, so cute and healthy thank goodness. We have been babysitting for four days, a two year old who has had a few meltdowns, but mostly is a good little guy, just so busy, so grandma is busy too. I started to post yesterday but was interrupted, so unable to complete my post.

Lav, sounds like you have been busy with yard work, the heat was unbearable here too, a little cooler now. We have had heavy rain the past few days, then it will clear up and super muggy.

Pauly, cooler weather is not normal for you I take it, but nice to have chicken soup with the cooler temps.

Cyn, you are busy busy, watch out for all that yard work and don't over do. I have been overly busy and take the little guy home today and can get my life back to whatever is the new normal over here.

                Have a great AF Sunday.

                    Good evening friends!

Another nice & cool day here - ahhhh!!
My grandsons were dropped off right after lunch by their other grandparents & were just picked up by their dad at 8 pm. Busy afternoon but it went well, no meltdowns by anyone, ha ha!!

Stra, Congrats on your new grandson! Glad to hear everything went well too.
Two boys, two years apart - you will have some very busy times ahead of you just like I had with mine. It's different now that they are 8 & 6 but busy enough, ha ha.

Cyn, YB was nice enough to point out some PI flourishing right where I wanted to do some weeding - hence the weeds remain
I hope you stay as far away from the stuff as possible.
I hope your event went well. I have noticed the political atmosphere is invading my dreams.....not nice.

I have a few things to get done Monday & Tuesday then will be leaving early Wednesday afternoon to head to the each for a few days with my girls. It sounds like we may be getting some rain but I don't really care. We always find something to do regardless of the weather.
                    Wishing everyone a peaceful night!

                      Night all!
Time for bed here, just another day here in crazyville. I'll explain tomorrow...

Star, so glad all went well and that you are headed home, you must be tired! Pauly, how's things, is Louie feeling better? Lav, I'm seeing PI so many places that I never saw it before... it's like a bad dream! Good that YB was on alert. I'm so glad to hear that you will be going to the beach with the girls - that should hopefully be a nice break for you all.

                      More tomorrow, sweet dreams.

Morning friends, Cyn,Lou does feel better but he now has road rash by his eye cuz he was running, in flip flops down his uncle's driveway and landed right on his little face! I hate kid flip flops for that very reason Star, hope you're getting caught up on rest,Lav,how great to have spent the day with your boys I had a full house yesterday with Kell and her bf,Michelle, LB and her bf are down from Portland, its nice to have everyone together but it does get hectic! Worried about Michelle, I dont know how to give her some mojo, every job I suggest is"nah,I dont want to do that" why me? It seems like in a group of a lot of kids there's always one that gives you grey hair from worry, dammit, sorry to vent here but Star I know you can kind of relate, anyhoo, must eat healthy today cuz I was a total pig yesterday and I feel I'll(insert green faced frown face) hoping for an easy AF Monday for us all

                          Re: Motivated in May

                          Afternoon,

I did not sleep well last night, but managed to get to my exercise class. I have been cleaning and doing laundry ever since! We had our grandson at our house, so it was trashed.

Pauly, it will be fun to have two boys so close in age. Nice to have your family together. Michelle will hopefully find something she likes to do. My son is going out of town this week for training, and his Dad and I are hoping things go well for him, it is like four hours away thank goodness for GPS on phones. But we do worry, I do get it. I ate really badly too these last several days and am focused on making better choices from now on.

Lav, how great you got your grandsons! And you get to go on a trip with your girls, wonderful. It is just nice to get away from time to time. I am terrified of poison ivy, glad YB found it. Can you spray it or something? I don't know.

Cyn, hope things are OK, stay away from that PI. Any fun plans this weekend? We don't have any, and that is fine with me. Just alot of stuff around the house, and it is supposed to rain, of course.

Hope you all have a great AF Monday.

                            Re: Motivated in May

                            Good evening friends,

Rain day today & tomorrow so hopefully it starts to clear by Wednesday or we will be damp at the beach. No big deal, we always find stuff to do, rain or shine.

Star, it is so difficult getting decent sleep. If it's not the dog waking me at stupid o'clock with a bathroom emergency then it's a hot flash, geez. I just can't seem to sleep decently more than one or two nights/week (if I'm lucky) Ho Hum. I hope you are able to catch up with your sleep.
I will have YB spray the PI with Roundup, unfortunately it's the only thing that helps. I hate Roundup & won't let him use it anywhere where the kids or dogs may go. That stuff causes cancer & horrible stuff.

Pauly, you are lucky you can get your whole family together once in a while! I know it's hectic but it is something I have been missing since last summer. My DIL's antics put a giant wall between my son & daughter & now they won't be in the same room with one another. I actually made a plan with YB yesterday to work on our son & help him pull his head out of his a$$ about this. They don't know the heartache this has caused me & it is such a shame that the grandkids have not seen each other in almost a year!!!
Can you talk your daughter into visiting a career placement center at a local community college? She just may be motivated by the information they offer.

Cyn, I know you had a big day yesterday & I hope it went well for you

Have a nice night everyone, I hope we all SLEEP!

Lav, it hurts to have family strife, I hope YB can talk to your son and get it straightened out. It's all about being right and not about the importance of relationship. You can't get that time back, but of course you know this. I am happy you have been able to see your grandsons and enjoy them.

Hello to Cyn and Pauly, have a great day. Let's all enjoy being AF.
