    Re: July Jubilee

    Good morning...

Cyn, darn it that your health is not improving. I remember you not being able to sleep in caring for your sick doggie, that can take its toll over time. Hopefully you can sleep better and that will help. How nice to have a dream of your loved ones.

Pauly, how wonderful if your family could be so close, I would love it. My daughter is really adapting to a new way of life with two little kids, she is very busy and the older one is a little jealous. Kell will be a busy lady and for you to be so close and to be able to help would be a bonus for her (and you).

Lav, I agree with you that poor health is a scary thing as you get older. My mom always took care of herself, exercised and kept busy and positive, so when she got cancer, it really was horrible. She did not eat well though, not at all. She was never told to and did not understand about nutrition at all. Lots of McDonald's and Burger King unfortunately. I am finally feeling the effects of eating vegan and losing a little weight. I am going to continue and know that over time I will feel better and better.

I will be gone till Sunday so will not be able to log on. Wishing you all a great AF weekend.

Morning friends,Star have a nice getaway Lav,wow that is young when your mom and brother passed and I can understand feeling creepy about that age, weird how some people who never take, care of themselves live to old age others fit as a fiddle can die young, just weird..Cyn,you do keep yourself busy, sometimes it seems too busy, running here and there, working, maybe you need to have a few lazy days to recharge your batteries? I dunno, wishing us all a nice AF Thursday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

        Hello friends,

Still stuck with the extreme heat & humidity here. Apparently some areas are getting fierce storms, we had warnings all day but nothing arrived. There was a tornado spotted a little north of us in another county, geez.

Star, I hope you have a great time away. I'm a little jealous, I'm feeling kinds stuck lately & it's partly because I don't have my Curves escape anymore, oh well.
Eating healthier is a good thing & it becomes normal after a while. I ran across a recipe for Lentil Walnut-Apple burgers & made them tonight. Boy were they good. You top them with 'Almonaise', yum I just ate it on top of a big salad, skipped the bun, very good!
Yesterday my grandson & I made a batch of vegan (dairy free) 3 ingredient crunch bars (like a Nestles Crunch bar). I'll try not to eat them all immediately, ha ha!!!

Pauly, none of us are going to live forever, I get that. I just want my time left to be as happy & healthy as it can possibly be. Most of all I want to be independent!!
Keep taking care of yourself, your efforts will pay off, honestly

My grandson went home late this morning after his 2 night stay & will return tomorrow night for another 2 night stay. I am grateful to have him in my life & I want to stay happy & healthy for him too.

Hello to Cyn, hope you are doing well.

        Have a nice night everyone!
        Lav

          Hi all -

Star, if you see this I hope you have a good time on your trip --- wishing you well and Be Careful!!!

Lav, so interesting that EB was so quiet -- he seems like such a sweet, concentrating type of boy. He must get that from you!!!

Pauly -- do you need a hug? Here's a big one for you, if so -- i saw that you had definite bad news about your dad, a week ago -- I am so sorry. Whatever happens, we are here for you --- remember that, and we need your voice here...

My boy dog is teaching me to take the evening off of working. With the dog sitter they go downstairs and watch TV, something I hardly ever do, but it's his favorite thing. I try to fake him out by bringing my laptop down with me, but if he sees it, he won't come down! So now I knock off work by 7 so that I can watch the PBS newshour - so informative and long-form reporting, nobody screeching at each other. They have been reporting on the country of Russia and Putin all week... wow is all I can say. A very very different country. Glad that we still have freedoms here in the States...

Sending everyone lots of love and light tonight ---

Hi Lav, I guess nobody here except us chickens! (old joke my dad used to tell)... hello Pauly, I really hope you will stop in... sending love...

Lav, I keep thinking about you and Maxie - how is it going? I saw the pic of the chicken laying her egg in the window box flowers again... wow, that's creative!

I did work outside today because it was cool (but buggy! I got nailed on my bum twice, right through 2 layers of cloth!) I had picked up tall daisies yesterday, so I planted them in the corner of the dog yard along with a perennial salvia that I had to move. So pretty, it gave me a lot of comfort - I will always see her in those flowers. I even edged the area and mulched it... and since this is new England, I have a lot of stones that I dug up, so I have a nice rock garden going as well now.

Wishing all a peaceful Friday eve, and a good AF Saturday.

              Hey Cyn,

              Good to see you
It's OK if it's just us chicks here for now, ha ha!
My grandson has returned for another 2 night stay. He's entertaining himself with my ipad & running outside to herd chickens. He is pretty independent &at a good age.
We set up two nest boxes in the young chickens quarters today & placed some ceramic eggs in them so hopefully the girls will get the idea They have pretty much wrecked that one flower box, smashed my petunias. Kids!!!!
Maxie seems to be just a touch easier to handle the past two days. I think the antibiotic for her UTI is making her feel better & hopefully the gabapentin is kicking in a little. She has let me sleep the past two nights so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm glad your boy dog has convinced you to put the work away early in the evenings. Bless their little hearts!
Have fun creating your rock garden, sounds cool!

Star, I hope your trip is going well.

Pauly, like Cyn said - we are here to give hugs

We had a massive thunder storm this afternoon with a ton of rain. Doubt that it's going to really cool things off but there's always hope, ha ha!
              Be well everyone!

Hi Pauly, hope everything is OK.

Hello to Cyn & Star as well.

I had a nice afternoon out with my grandson & a few other people digging dirt at an archaeology excavation site. The stuff you learn, oh boy
It was fun & EB was really into it too.
We finally enlisted some Amish help & got the roof put on the pergola today, yay. I've been telling YB for months to just hire those young guys 7letthem hadle I, ha ha! It looks great & will provide some much need shade on our too sunny southern facing deck, nice.

Hope to see you all tomorrow!

Morning all -- sorry Lav to leave you here alone - somehow my post didn't show up?! Operator error, probably. Wow, that dig sounds fascinating. Where was it, close to home? Was it a colonial site? Yay on the Pergola, so glad that it is up and giving you some respite from the sun. We have a big umbrella that I have devised a way to move slightly so that the outdoor loveseat is in the shade most of the time... it was where Sasha and Zander would hang out most summer days... now I sit there to keep him company, and I am really enjoying the deck for the first time in years.

Hey to Star and Pauly -- star, I hope your trip is going well and that you are having happy connections where you are... Pauly, thanks so much for dropping by, it is good to see you --

This morning I am meting with a garden guy that my neighbor is using - I'm going to ask him to help with some things in the land and gardens - the price is right! So there's some progress!

Wishing all a quiet AF Sunday ---

                      Hi there Cyn!

                      Glad to see you.
I put a couple of pergola pics on FB so you can check it out. Now I need to go find some comfy seating & get some solar lights up in there
This is where we were yesterday: www.newlingristmill.org
It's only about a 45 minute drive from here, closer to where I used to live. I've spent 50 years driving past the place & never knew much about it, honestly. I had no idea it dated back to the 1700's, geez. There are several buildings on the property (160 acres). The excavation yesterday was at a building they think was originally a general store. There are no records, believe it or not. I find that stuff fascinating.
Getting some garden help is nice, good for you YB broke down & paid a guy to cut grass here today. He's been preoccupied with many projects & the grass was looking awful but it's better now. I refuse to cut all this grass, not my thing.

Well, hello to Star & Pauly & I hope everyone has a decent night!

I am back from my trip and had a nice time. Just a few more days and then my trip out east, lots to do.

Lav, nice you are having your grandson over, pergola done, can we have a pic?

Cyn, sounds like you are doing better.

                        Pauly, hope you are OK.

                          Morning all -

Star, good to see you home safe! Glad that you had a good time. And now another trip? Goodness, you are the traveling girl. Are you alone on this trip, or going with hubs? I wish you well in these busy days.

Lav, that site sounds fascinating -- I love that history too, it will be interesting to see what they find. I stumbled on a show the other night on PBS - Fabulous or Fake, something like that - 2 art historians and a researcher take pieces of art and find the provenance, etc. the one I watched was about a 16th century large canvas hanging in an English church - they showed the restoration of the painting, and wow! It turned out to be a valuable Venetian painting, and they figured out how it got to England. I love that kind of detective work!

Pauly - sending you lots of hugs, hope to hear how you are doing -- miss your voice here --

Well, the garden help was amazing! This 22 year old kid is so serious and sweet and hard working. And having him here got me organized to get some long-awaited tasks done... I dug up a mass of variegated hosta and a clump of overgrown iris and pulled them out before he came to weed and mulch that bed. Whew! Those were several years overdue tasks. I actually replanted the hosta in the back -the Sashie garden - it made 7 sizeable plantings! Too tired and hot to do the iris - there must be 50 or 60 rhizomes, sheesh. I think I'll be putting a lot of those on the road for people to take! (As well as in the back garden).

Now back to work on business stuff and getting ready to leave next week for 3 weeks... honestly, I wish that I could just stay home, but oh well... boy dog is doing a little better I think - tomorrow he gets chiropractic, and I hope that helps, he is really limping a lot.

Wishing all a beautiful Monday --

                            Good evening friends!

Hot, humid & a thunder storm today - what else is new? Ha ha!
My daughter & granddaughter came for a visit & left after dinner. We had a nice time

                            Welcome back Star!
Where are you heading to next? I would love to go somewhere but it's not in the cards. Sick dog & YB having another hand surgery on Thursday kind of overrides a trip right now. Pergola pics on my FB page.

Cyn, I love your Sasha garden, looks great!
I would love to take some of those iris off your hands, Lol. I'm sure your neighbors will be happy for the freebies.
I hope your dog feels better after his Chiro Tx.

                            Pauly, thinking about you.

                            Have a nice night everyone!

                              Good morning...

Is Pauly not posting here now or on MWO in general? She has had so much happen hope she is OK.

Lav, went to FB and saw the pics of the pergola, it is beautiful, what a great addition to your house! Have fun with that. We are going to New England on Friday on a tour with a group, something my husband has never done. His bucket list was to go to Boston, he has never been out there. I am driving today to pick up my grandson to spend the night and so we can go swimming. He takes after his grandmother, he loves the water. It is going to be really hot here, whew! I love July. It is so fun to not have to work for a change. I mean I take care of the house stuff, but to be able to go to the pool is something I love. Very grateful.

Cyn, yes, I have a few weeks of traveling and looking forward to it. The shorter trip was fun, lots of driving and visiting. This next trip is strictly siteseeing all the great historical places around Cape Cod, but with a group and all we have to do is what we are told! LOL. Being away for three weeks sounds intense and fun. That PBS show sounds good, I will have to look it up, I love historical stories, info, books, etc.

Looking forward to a busy AF Tuesday, have a good one.

                                Morning all -

Big storm in the night here! I have to remember to read the weather report... I didn't know it was coming, but fortunately no harm done.

Star, a bus trip sounds great! You might want to take some food backup for yourself -- on the road, there sometimes aren't great choices... but if you are doing fish, I'm sure Cape Cod and Boston will be great! I love Boston - so much history. I want to go back and stay a few days and see the sites again ...

Another hand surgery for YB, Lav, gosh that's a lot! I think of you and Maxie everyday, hoping she is doing OK. We were so lucky that Sashie rallied and got us through the week in Maine. She loved it there - cool- but I could tell that she was failing even on the way home. Bless her.

I got 8 plantings of Iris in the ground last evening (I can't find anything to discourage the gnats from chewing on my ears... geeez!) I don't really know what to do with the rest, so will put them out from - I still have a couple of dozens. If I get a chance I'll throw them in the perimeter of the land after I dig out some brambles, maybe. The clock is ticking, I leave one week from today, and it's going to be a hot week w/out air conditioning. So, we'll see... I may be done with the garden. Still lots of work to get done for the festival before I leave...

Pauly, if you are reading at all, we miss you! Take the time you need, but know that your voice is really missed...

Wishing all a cool, centered Tuesday...
