Mae everybody, congrats again Mick! pics are nice,Sam,how was your ride? PQ,sounds like an interesting project, hope your day is a nice one,Det,I seen that ice cream on myfitnesspal, there's a thread where peeps share pics of new products they've found, surprisingly mostly junk food which is weird for a weight site anyways I gagged at Twinkie ice cream I did buy some Halo top which is protein ice cream but the sweetener in it makes my stomach unhappy so I'll pass on it too, glad you're feeling better, I did read they hafta give multiple doses of that stuff so be careful if you try it again, I made hubs take the day off,he just used his stomach probs as his excuse haha, wishing us all a happy AF 4th!
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Happy Independence Day ABeroooos! (er, at least us yanks)

Mick, mega super kudos on 5 years! that's so fab. I'm trucking along behind you.
no, not returning our sovereignty to the UK but I really would like to visit. I'd like to travel
everywhere given the time/money of course. I'll get there.

Lav, no rushing into treatments that's for sure. Really need my dosage adjusted before I get launched
into the twilight zone again. Glad to be feeling clear and good. Just taking it slow/easy and doing some
putzing aboot the house, watching photography tutorials, some sci fi, and not eating anything defiled
            with twinkies

Pauly, was that ice cream sweetened with malitol? that messes with a lot of folks.

            time for lunch....

            be well loves

              Happy July 4th Abbers

I can hear fireworks from my chair in the living room but I'm not stepping outside in 1000% humidity to watch them, ha ha!!! I have the Washington DC festivities on PBS on TV & that's good enough for me!

Mick, I see a lot of blue skies & water, beaches, etc - looks great! I hope you are enjoying your special day today, congrats once again

Det, glad to hear you are feeling well. Are you part of a test group for that therapy by any chance? I know they need more studies done before they get FDA approval.
We want you to be & succeed in all you want to do!

Pauly, I decide a long time ago that I cannot handle any artificial sweetener whatsoever. They either cause me headaches or GI distress, yuck. Besides, who the hell needs Twinkie ice cream any way? Ha ha!!

Hi there Sam, PQ & the rest of the crew!
              Wishing everyone a nice night.

              Lav

Mae everybody, Mick speaking of ice cream I know you're indulging Det the sweetener was ethry-something and stevia which I can only tolerate in small amounts as it is, I'd rather just have the real stuff all I need is a few bites anyways, very tired this morning they kept doing fireworks in zee hood for what seemed like forever! We watched some of the neighbors who get the big ones, let off a few of the ones we bought til the neighbors accidentally set a palm tree on fire! I was done after that, figured they were too but they still kept going, kept Dottie over night so I had both dogs in my room waking me up,ugh! Will get through, much love to all and I hope we all have a great AF Wednesday

                    Ahoy ho ABerooos!

Mick, thanks for the extra brew, gonna need it after a late one here. I did sneak down to downtown to catch some fireworks
photos and I haven't processed them but should have some interesting shots to post shortly.

Pauly, sounds like your neighbors are a tad out of control!

Lav, not a test group as such, but sort of voluntarily pioneering this treatment in a manner of speaking. The doc I'm working with has
done this many hundreds of times to treat various addictions. Since the patent has run out long ago on this drug we really can't expect to
see any well-funded double-blind studies to take place which is a bummer. Don't blame you for hiding out in the AC in such heat/humidity.
At least it was warm and dry outside last night and a lovely time.

wishing you all a happy, AF and twinkie-free Wed!

                    be well

                          MAE ALL...

Mick...I know you went AF July 4th for independence day but I think secretly it was so you could have cake 2 days in a row. Hope you had a great birthday.

Pauly...maybe Mick had ice cream cake for his birthday. I know I could go for some as we're now under a heat warning for the next 3 days. Only o 86F but that's hot enough! I use Splenda in my coffee, for no other reason than I like the taste. I'm sure you got through the day even with the early wake up.

Det...looking forward to the firework pic's, hope they came out ok, those can be tricky. Can't even fathom twinkie ice cream.

TT...good to see you, was starting to get worried. Not about drinking but being overwhelmed. Hope things wind down soon for you.

Great eye checkup today. Still on drops but the iritis isn't active anymore. Hopefully after the cataract surgery I finally get off them. Weeding Wednesday tonight, the garden is going to need more watering. Asked where the Garden Party pics are and they were sent to a member who is on holidays. So they're sending them to me for our newsletter so will hopefully post a few soon.

Have a restful evening all and all to come....:smile:PPQP

                            Good evening Abbers,

Thanks to the birthday boy Mick for the extra wonderful coffee
I hope your day was super fab!!!!

Pauly, I don't believe I've ever seen a palm tree on fire before - geez!
I heard a lot of areas out west canceled fireworks because things are so dry & flammable out there.

Det, I hope your pics are cool, can't wait to see them.
I'm glad you are feeling well & hope you stay that way friend!

TT, good to see you. I hope everything goes OK with the colonoscopy. Check in again when you can!

PQ, I imagine 86 degrees is pretty hot for your location! I guess you don't get stuck with that weather for weeks on end like we do, ugh.
I didn't realize that you are planning cataract extractions, best of luck with that!

Nothing special going on here - just going broke paying vet fees for my dogs these past two weeks. The meds are pretty expensive for my older dog 7& that doesn't help. I just want to keep her as comfy as possible at this point.
                            Wishing everyone a nice night!

                              Re: W/c July 2

Mick-congrats on 5 years and Happy Birthday!

Det-I won't ask what kind of therapy you are doing---just be careful.

Kind of amazing when you let go of expectations---and guilt over things "the other person may think you should be doing". Should have done that a long time ago--feels like a twenty pound weight off my chest. Something clicked, because he got awful nice to me real fast. I have decided to go on the trip---this was on the grounds that he booked several things of my choosing. Hotel rooms downtown for the next year for all the big events. We have so much cool stuff that goes on, I don't mind the crowd---its the getting there and back out that is a pain. Hotel Room and walk. He is also rebooking the October trip (on his dime) and we are going together. If one of us doesn't come back from that hiking trip---it will be a 48 Hours episode

But in reality it got me to thinking about how I have held certain expectations of different people AND I SHOULD JUST LET ALL THAT SHIT GO. Its like I set myself up to be disappointed! Not that I am unreasonable----but, I should know by now----you can't change people. And when they let me down---well, that is on me. I know better.

I am making big strides to become a "plant-based" eater. I just can't look the other way any more when these diets have completely reversed heart disease in people who were given no hope. People come in who are on the "cancer diet" because they have cancer. It makes me wonder, why isn't that the standard diet? Why wait to get cancer---maybe do the diet now? Also, if we are going to yell about climate change---we need to own our part in it. It is quite amazing the amount of the planets resources that go to raising meat. It isn't nearly as hard as I made it out to be---and so far I feel so much better.

I feel like it is step one-stop drinking. Feel better. Stop smoking. What do you know---I feel better. Kind of like you keep up-leveling the game. And sort of like chasing the new high

Someone gave me 1/2 a twinkie about 6 months ago. I had not eaten one in years. I was expecting it to taste like shit.....but, no it was AWESOME. So I decided there and then that I must abstain from them as well. Might plan to have them as my last meal
