    Re: W/c July 2

    Hi everyone.
Sorry about your Dad Pauly - it is usually treatable but not an easy ride. Thats great news about Kell.
Lots of medical type issues on the thread here. What is happening with you PQ? I couldnt find the post when when I scrolled back.
Thats the spirit SF - you remind them about birthdays with bells and whistles blaring. When I gave birth to my daughter I had to beg for pain relief. The midwife and the hospital (and this is regular state hospital) was very much into less medication and being 'natural'. After over a day of labour pains, and then the baby turning the wrong way, they finally gave me the epidural. It was not a C-section. Actually not too bad once the wonderful drugs kicked in. As for my A-Ds - its not a high dose and they are not happy pills. They just help to keep me functioning and even things out a bit. I wont be on them for too long I hope but I would have to say that A-Ds have saved my life in the past. Also helped with post-natal depression.
Hope you are enjoying the rabbits Mick, now that you are home. How is Julie's Dad?
I really am craving roughage but have to restrict it in prep for my procedure next Wednesday. This is not a diet that is friendly for vegos. I havent started the liquid diet or the laxatives yet - that fun starts on Monday. What a life I lead!
Hi there to everyone and take care.

Pauly...I think men in general are stubborn. LOL Great news about Kell except now I'll have to keep my fingers crossed for another 196 days.

TT...all good news. Eye checkup finds my iritis not active anymore. Doc will keep me on minimal drops till my cataract surgery in Oct though. Will finally be able to read my books without specs again! My first born was a breach and they gave me an epidural to stop the pushing sensation. All it did was freeze me from the knees down. LOL I don't remember having to be on a special diet before my colonoscopies but do remember the laxatives! Gotta say you are sounding much better.

        Good evening Abbers,

        Safe travels Mick!
I hope you packed some Spanish coffee to keep us going until your next vacation

Det, we had such a downpour tonight after dinner it sounded like the roof was going to cave in - geez! No danger of drought around these parts. Your pics are absolutely awesome, great job!!

SF, I've had Percocet after two surgeries & honestly, it didn't do much for me. I still had pain but I didn't really give a sh*t about it, ha ha. I even turned down a Rx for it when I being discharged from the hospital, they thought I was crazy. I told them I would go home & take Motrin for better pain relief & that's what I did. I really don't want any pill or liquid altering my senses again. There are better ways to deal with pain these days. By the way, I had two C sections, the first being a real emergency. You have a great plan going for future birthdays, I hope it works out to your satisfaction

TT, I hope the special diet isn't too harsh. Focus on the good stuff you can eat after your test

Pauly, sorry to hear about your Dad. Maybe you can give him some gentle reminders & offer him support that way.
Congrats on your new baby on the way. I hope everything goes well for Kell & for all of you.

PQ, now I know Stampede is a big rodeo (thanks to Google) ha ha!
I can quite imagine the drunk fest, ugh. I hope there are no casualties this year, ugh.

Hello to the rest & wishing everyone a peaceful night!

Mae everybody, Mick i want some details about the trip, what'd you guys do,eat, etc? Is Julies dad ok? TT,I wasn't trying to imply AD's were 'happy pills' I wish they were was the point I was trying to say, when I was on Zoloft I just felt numb,I told my friend I thought it was gonna make me feel happy like after a few beers back then,if they help you thats all that matters Lav,when I had my teeth pulled last year they tried to give me something I said I'll use Advil thank you! PQ,stampede sounds like a huge drunk fest,I imagine it has its fun points like food booths and stuff,I'll bet you'd look cute in a little cowboy hat haha spent the morning with Michelle before she had to work we stopped at a coffee truck called 'Grouchy Johns' or Joes something like that, very nice seeing her but man its humid here! Weather says only 7% but I think thats horseshit,,,its sticky.Sam good to see you Details,I can't get over how much I can just look at those firework pics and be amazed, they look great! Much love to all and I hope we all have a great AF Saturday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

                Re: W/c July 2

                Happy Sabado ABsteroonies!

Mick, thanks much for the cafe Espana. Slept like a rock and still a tad groggy but I'll take that
over a hangover most any day

Pauly, congrats on the new family member news. Anti Deps are still in their infancy and thankfully medical science
is learning new methods constantly. There is a new pill-form of ketamine combined with something else that shows
great promise. An Israeli company is trying to fast-track it through our FDA system for trials in January. After my experience
with K I've become fascinated with understanding the core of human consciousness and what the 'self' really is/means. It's heady
stuff that leads me through philosophical and scientific realms.

yep, guys are indeed stubborn, but using techniques like dog-treats we can be potty trained eventually LOL putting down the
toilet seat is still slightly out of our reach but we could evolve given enough time.....

SunF, I agree. It seems archaic to me that society still separates alcohol from drugs as if there's a difference.

if anyone is nearby, pop over at 8am as I'm teaching martial arts in the yard here...it's going to be fun! good thing we're getting an early
start since it's going to be another scorcher and I'm still waiting for Lav to bump the rain clouds this way.

I'd really love to go pro with the photography but I need to upgrade my camera to be taken seriously and just can't afford it just yet.
In the meantime I'm trying to just get experience and some good shots for my portfolio. Just slowly easing in that direction.
no job interview yet but will be calling my friend that works there to get some info today.

lets have a super kick-booty AF weekend!

                be well loves

                  MAE ALL...

Lav...yes the rodeo does draw it's protesters. With this hot dry weather at least they're not racing in the mud.

Mick...glad you're home safe and sound. And it is always nice to be home isn't it.

Sam...don't wear yourself out fencing, save those digits for tunes.

Pauly...I'll pass on the cowboy hat, wore one for long enough. I'm glad Calgary doesn't have the humidity that other places have.

Det...hope your friend has some positive news for you. If your goal is professional photography then make small steps towards it. Sounds like you're on the right track developing your portfolio.

Off to make sure the garden is surviving in this heat and gather my dinner. LOL Have a Super Saturday all...:smile:PPQP

                      Re: W/c July 2

Nice pics Mick. I'll need you to make all upcoming birthday trip plans

Lav-It is my understanding and (slight) experience that when in actual pain the pain meds have a completely different effect than when one is not in actual pain. I would not hesitate to take pain meds depending on the situation.

TT- I never intended to mean that AD's are happy pills. I never really had much luck with them and had some bad side effects. Actually, the majority of my family is medication resistant when it comes to AD's. I am glad that they are helping you through a difficult time.

Pauly--Zoloft increased my desire to drink. And I literally could drink until the sun came up. I had a difficult time getting off them, but once they cleared my system---I could not believe how dulled out I had been. Colors---I spent a whole day marveling at colors.

Det--you got my point exactly. When I was drinking I was able to say....well, its not like its hard drug. You know that illegal stuff. Geez, it is only lite beer. Its not even whiskey. Alcohol still affects more people and kills more people than all other drugs combined. More crimes are committed under the influence of alcohol than any other drug. Yet, it is acceptable and sold on every street corner.

I quit the photography gig. I actually told them I wanted the summer off and we will reconvene in September. Money was coming in from other sources and I was starting to dread it. It was easy money, so maybe just a break is all I need. The wife is the main contact and she has just done some weird stuff.

I slept most of the day. Seems like about every 6 weeks--I need that total day off.

                        Good evening Abbers,

The day is almost done so I'm just dropping in to say Hi & Goodnight!

Glad you are home safe & sound Mick. What's with the black sand - weird. Doesn't it absorb the heat & burn your feet??

Hi to Sam, PQ, Det, Pauly, SF & anyone I may have missed.
I'll try to jump in earlier tomorrow before i'm falling asleep, ha ha.

                        Peace to everyone tonight!
