      Re: Anchored August

      Good evening friends,

Forgot my Fitbit this morning, duh, ha ha!
We got to the national park in an hour, not bad & we did get our lifetime passes. We really didn't stay long though because the mosquitos were biting in a bad way. YB smacked one on the back of his hand & it bled all over his hand, yuck
We will go back when the season changes & the mosquitos croak. Here's what the place looks like though - nice:
Home - Bombay Hook - U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

Det, nice to see you here or anywhere!
I hope the job interview is good & you can move into some bigger money. You have been doing so great, we all want to see you continue to do so
I saw egrets & other water birds but couldn't get near enough to take a picture today, damn mosquitos.

Star, boy do I ever know about the little boy energy thing, ha ha!!! Keeping up with them will keep you young & conditioned, no kidding.
Glad you enjoyed your play date

Pauly, I push the kids outside to do stuff too. I can't stand it when they are glued to electronics. The only one who balks is the youngest one, he doesn't like to be told to go out & play - tough, ha ha!! Once you get the kids outside they end up having fun.

I just found out that we are in for two more days of dog sitting.......the Insanity Twins will be returning, oh joy!
      Wishing everyone a nice night!

        Good morning...

Up early, had a weird day yesterday. I am trying to get flooring and the place I chose just couldn't get it together to get me an estimate, so I fired them and found a few leads for other vendors, but saying that, it took a long time. Now today it will be a waiting game to see who calls and what estimates I get. I also attended the HOA meeting in my neighborhood, what a thankless job. It was good to know what is going on here. Today I am going to a new exercise class, catching a ride with a friend, so we will see, my legs ached yesterday from the new moves.

Lav, nice of you to watch the dogs for your son, too bad the mosquitoes were so intense yesterday. What a beautiful refuge, fall is right around the corner. I have to work on four days of meals today, any ideas? I feel so good with eating vegan/vegetarian that I am craving, of all things, bean dishes. I love lentils and may make lentil soup, which is pretty good not steaming hot. Still warm around here, this August weather is gorgeous.

Pauly, my grandson loves to run around, but turn on that TV or give him a tablet and he almost seems like he has a spell cast over him, so when it is just he and I, the TV is off most of the time. Any plans for your day off today? Hope something fun and relaxing.

        Have a good one.

Morning friends,Star, right now its hard to let Lou go outside to play cuz the heat so the kids usually take him to the park in the evening around 7 or 8,its the only time the sun isn't blazing down on his little skin,I don't like too much electronic time either but if I'm tired or have a headache its a lifesaver, hope your new exercise class is fun Lav,I can't believe you forgot your fitbit,I keep mine on always, even have a tan line haha, the refuge looks cool,I love stuff like that, when we were back home we went to the lake by ourselves and just hiked around the forestry part, had to cut it kind of short cuz we were all wearing flip flops but there were streams, chipmunks, flowers ,trees, just total non Vegasy stuff, nature.hi to Cyn wishing us all a happy, healthy AF Friday

            Re: Anchored August

            Good evening friends,

Star, there's nothing more frustrating than trying to get the attention of a contractor & they just keep ignoring you. We never had that issue until we moved here, crazy.
You would think they would be happy to get jobs. I hope you got what you needed.
My all time favorite bean dish is black bean burgers. But I also like bean & rice recipes & FoK has a great recipe for spicy lentil tacos
Do you like sweet potatoes? I make sweet potato & black bean vegan burritos. I have tons of bean recipes on Pinterest.

Pauly, I stopped wearing my Fitbit when Curves closed unfortunately. I obviously don't get anywhere enough movement in living around here where you have to drive everywhere (no sidewalks to walk on, no stores or anything to walk to).
Future visits to that wildlife refuge, once the mosquitos die off will be with my Fitbit on, ha ha!!

Cyn, I miss you & hope you can rejoin us soon.

Wanted to sit outside & watch for meteors but it's getting ready to rain, boo hoo.
            Have a nice night everyone!

              Good morning...

Lav, thanks for the recipe ideas, I need them! Sometimes I don't feel like cooking, so new ideas help. I met with a contractor yesterday and will go today and purchase the materials with work date right after labor day. Finally moving forward.

Pauly, the new zumba class was fun but a little too much for me, my back and heel hurt, so I am taking the day off today as far as formal exercise. I may go for a walk today while it is still fresh and cool out.

              Have a good one.

Morning friends,Star they say zumba torches calories cuz of the quick pace,I couldn't get into it for some reason,I dunno if the music irritated me or trying to get the moves down bugged me,I'm absolutely awful at remembering the simplest dance counts and moves! Lav,black beans taste good but I hate the way they look for some reason! Went to Café Rio yesterday and I always choose a tiny bit of the pinto beans on my salad cuz I just can't look at the black haha, dreading work today, probably be all kids cuz school starts Monday, grrr, wishing us a happy, healthy AF Saturday

Hey girls - look what I found today
                  Recipes - The Buddhist Chef

I've only glanced thru real quick but I see some possibilities. I also see where he uses tofu, that's something I don't eat. Worth taking alook though.

Pauly, I was a little wary of the look of black beans too until I realized by the time you're finished adding onions, red peppers, cilantro, etc then brown them up on a grill or frying pan - they just look like a regular burger. I also have spaghetti made out of black beans 0 weird looking but good!
I need to get my hair cut soon too. The kids go back to school on the 28th around here so I think I can beat the crowd, ha ha.

Star, glad you got your quote!
We got a quote today to replace the entire driveway. It is 14 years old & a complete disaster. So for a mere $11,500, geez. It will be worth in in the end though & will add to the resale value. My brother-in-law hired a few stoner contractors when he built this place so now we're paying....

Just so you know, I tried Zumba & felt like a complete idiot, LOL
I used to be coordinated & I used to be able to remember a few dance moves but that was then I was a younger version of myself

                  Hello to Cyn.
                  Have a nice night everyone!

                    Ahoy hoy ABerooos!

still can't navigate to the ol spot so I'm here messing up the place with my untidy habits and all

Snoopy, zumba sounds fun. I'm no dancer but enjoy watching good dancers ply their art.

I'm a big fan of black beans, just had some in my chili yesterday.

Lav, how goes with the insanity twins? crazy what driveway repairs can cost. yikes.

well, super unmotivated today. I spose it doesn't do any good to beat myself up over that. Did repair some
caulking in the shower and did dishes but otherwise it's been TED talks and star trek. ha!

Pauly, you're sick of doing hairdo's for teeny-boppers? I'm totally clueless on hair cutting (hence my clipper cut 'do').

anyhoo, hope to have some inclination to actually do something tomorrow. Just grateful to be AF and still have a roof
                    of some kind overhead.

                      Good morning...

Zumba was fun and I couldn't do the moves as well as the instructors, but neither could anybody else, haha. It was just about doing your best and workng out. I liked the loud music, was laughing as I was trying to follow. We are going to a preseason football game today, perfect weather, it will be fun I am looking forward to it. Yesterday I hung out with my son and worked on a few home repair things and helped him clean up a bit, so left the place in better shape. I am gearing up to painting this week, hope I can do it, I really don't want to.

Lav, whew, that is alot of money, but you probably having a long driveway. Everything with home repair is expensive. I ended up at Menards after going to another place where the sales people blew me off, told me to come back Monday. Uh, no, I had to order today and was able to so it is on for next month. I love black beans, will make black bean burgers this week I am sure.

Pauly, I am open to all kinds of exercise classes in a week, I have never done this before but really enjoying the variety. I hope to make yoga class today at 8:30 am, it is wonderful. Did you get a lot of kids yesterday? Hope it went well.

Det, sometimes it is good to have a day off and not do much, I need those kind of days too. The main thing is that you are AF and adding time to your recovery, getting stronger and building new brain connections. Good for you. I realize you have tough things going on too, which makes you even more amazing.

                      Have a good one all.

                          Good evening friends,

Yep, the cost of home repairs can make you cringe. We will actually be getting a whole new driveway, not a fix. They will be digging up this cracked up mess & hauling it off, excavating where necessary (the grading apparently was done wrong the first time), adding a thick layer of new stones then new asphalt. That's why it's so expensive. Waiting to hear about a start date.

Star, hope you enjoyed your football game. I don't care for it myself but the rest of the world seems to, for sure.
Sounds like you & your son work well together, nice. The hardest part of painting for me is getting started. It's always so nice when it's done.

Det, glad to see you here.
My furry grandkids went home this afternoon, thanks for asking, LOL
I hope your weekend was relaxing, nothing wrong with that!

Pauly, about your daughter's boyfriend - WTH? He's rather young to be dealing with fatty liver problems. If he doesn't stop drinking now he's going to cut his life short, no kidding. I hope someone can talk some sense into him. Congrats on the new chair find

Wishing everyone a nice night & say a prayer for our country - please.

Pauly, I hope that young man understands that he will not be eligible for a liver transplant when his liver fails. You can't be actively drinking & expect to get a new liver
No, you are not going to be able to change his mind but maybe you can work on your daughter a bit - just sayin.....

It was cloudy all day & I think my mood went wherever the sun went. Another day like this tomorrow then it's supposed to brighten up again, at least I hope so.
I am still cleaning up golden retriever hair, they left it everywhere. I had goldens back in the day but had forgotten how darn hairy they are, ha ha.

Hello to Star, I hope your day of painting went well.

                                Good morning...

Just busy running around yesterday, I hurt my heel with that new Zumba class, darn it. I will lay off of that for a while. I was happy that I had no injuries since restarting exercising in April, so I have to let this heal. Today picking up grandson, so will be busy again.

Lav, I found a new recipe for a sandwich made out of garbanzo beans and avocado, it calls for Veganaise, just one tablespoon, so not too bad. How were the doggie at your house, sorry about the dog hair. Thursday I am going to pick up paint, tape and plastic to start painting a bathroom. I am picking out the colors and will just begin when I can.

Pauly, sorry your daughter is with a guy who is a dud. I guess saying much would not be helpful, keeping the lines of communication open is so important so she does not get too isolated.

                                Have a good one.
