Mae everybody, Mick I wonder what bit you? I think mice/rats are too smart these days for those old school traps haha, when we lived in Cal the landlord gave us sticky traps, they work but it was kinda sad cuz the rats would whine loud and still be alive but stuck PQ,glad to see you back, its a good thing you can get your mind into another space by reading,I have a very hard time concentrating when drink thoughts take over, that's something I absolutely have to work on,Det,I'm happy your funk is passing no eclipse that was noticeable here, which I'm kinda glad about cuz I'd have gotten the creeps if it would have gotten too dark,Brady comes home today thank goodness! Its boring without him here, much love to all and I hope we all have a fabulous AF Tuesday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Hey PQ, I know what you mean about not acting on the drinking thoughts. Now that NOT drinking is my habit, I would have to make an effort to imbibe. So far, it hasn't seemed worth the trouble. Plus as you say, I imagine explaining to you guys what I got up to, and it keeps my head screwed on straight.

Pauly, I estimate my friend's monthly dog food bill for the raw diet is about $400. Too rich for me. The 4 pups went home yesterday, and will be back for a week in September. I'm planning to ask if there might be a less-juicy food option for them while they're here.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Det.

Lav, what do you do with the yogurt? I mean, just eat it plain?

Mick, is your current avatar eclipse-related? Love the terrier, and the sheep jokes this morning!

          Evening all...

Mick...when you get the awning up we'll need another pic. As far as me time, I'm taking afternoons off from now till the end of August. Will still have some vacation time left so am hoping to get paid out for it. September will see me getting 3 weeks vacation as I've now been working 6 years. Wow, time flies by.

Det...glad to hear you're feeling better. Any good NASA footage?

Lav...be careful what you wish for. Staff can be a fickle bunch!

Pauly...yup, gotta get that plan in place for those drinking thoughts. We'll all put our heads together and come up with something for you. It didn't get dark here either and I don't know if I'll be around for the next one. LOL

Pi...isn't it great that our thinking can change. Now I just have to work on worrying. Are the puppies house trained? How long do you have the other 3 for?

Dinner was take out tonight, I really have to go grocery shopping. Have a garden meeting tonight, we didn't have one last month so I guess I better go. Gotta decide on a date for putting your garden plot to bed for the winter. Shout out to everyone else. Hope we all have a peaceful evening....:smile:PPQP

            Good evening Abbers,

'Twas a hot & hellish humid day, ugh! Now we're awaiting a giant storm followed by a cold front. That's fine with me!

Mick, your coin collection must be getting pretty big by now. Do you have any plans to sell them or anything?

Det, glad to hear your mood is improving. Nice on the second interview, hope things work out to your advantage.

PQ, isn't I a bummer to have all that vacation time & not be able to actually take time off? That used to happen to me but it was nice selling the days back to the hospital & taking the $$$

Pauly, glad to hear Brady is home. Now you'll have lots to catch up on.

Pie, the yogurt doesn't seem to be setting up real well so I may end up using it to make smoothies or something. I'll get it right one of these days because I am stubborn, ha ha. I also can use it with my homemade dairy free granola!!!
Yeah, that raw meat diet is gag-worthy to me, couldn't handle that. Have fun with the remaining pups

Hello to the missing folks & wishing everyone a nice night.

Handjob Three guys go to a ski lodge, and there aren't enough rooms, so they have to share a bed. In the middle of the night, the guy on the right wakes up and says, "I had this wild, vivid dream of getting a hand job!" The guy on the left wakes up, and unbelievably, he's had the same dream, too. Then the guy in the middle wakes up and says, "That's funny, I dreamed I was skiing!"

Diarrhea is hereditary, it runs in your jeans.

My Mexican friend wrote a song about a tortilla. Well actually, it's more of a wrap.

The Smith's were proud of their family tradition. Their ancestors had come to America on the Mayflower. They had included Senators and Wall Street wizards. They decided to compile a family history, a legacy for their children and grandchildren. They hired a fine author. Only one problem arose -- how to handle that great-uncle George, who was executed in the electric chair. The author said he could handle the story tactfully. The book appeared. It said, "Great-uncle George occupied a chair of applied electronics at an important government institution, was attached to his position by the strongest of ties, and his death came as a great shock."

A man had to attend a large convention in Chicago. On this particular trip he decided to bring his wife. When they arrived at their hotel and were shown to their room, the man said: "You rest here while I register - I'll be back within an hour." The wife lies down on the bed... just then, an elevated train passes by very close to the window and shakes the room so hard she's thrown out of the bed. Thinking this must be a freak occurrence, she lies down once more. Again a train shakes the room so violently, she's pitched to the floor. Exasperated, she calls the front desk, asks for the manager. The manager says he'll be right up. The manager (naturally) is sceptical but the wife insists the story is true. "Look,... lie here on the bed - you'll be thrown right to the floor!" So he lies down next to the wife... Just then the husband walks in. "What," he says, "are you doing here?" The manager replies: "Would you believe I'm waiting for a train?"

Joe was a successful lawyer, but as he got older he was increasingly hampered by incredible headaches. When his career and love life started to suffer, he sought medical help. After being referred from one specialist to another, he finally came across an old country doctor who solved the problem. "The good news is I can cure your headaches... the bad news is that it will require castration." You have a very rare condition which causes your testicles to press up against the base of your spine and the pressure creates one hell of a headache. The only way to relieve the pressure is to remove the testicles." Joe was shocked and depressed. He woundered if he had anything to live for. He couldnt concentrate long enough to answer, but decided he had no choice but to go under the knife. When he left the hospital he was without a headache for the first time in 20 years, but he felt like he was missing an important part of himself. As he walked down the street, he realized that he felt like a different person. He could make a new beginning and live a new life. He saw a mens clothing store and thought, "thats what I need .. a new suit." He entered the shop and told the salesman, "Id like a new suit." The elderly tailor eyed him briefly and said, "Lets see... size 42 long." Joe laughed, "Thats right, how did you know?" "Been in business 60 years!" Joe tried on the suit. It fit perfectly. As Joe admired himself in the mirror, the salesman asked, "how about a new shirt?" Joe thought for a moment and then said "sure..." The salesman eyed Joe and said "lets see...34 sleeves and...16 and a half neck." Joe was suprised, "thats right, how did you know?" "Been in the business 60 years" Joe tried one the shirt, and it fit perfectly. As Joe adjusted the collar in the mirror, the salesman asked "how about some new shoes?" Joe was on a roll and said "sure!" The salesman eyed Joes feet and said "Lets see... 10-1/2...E." Joe said astonished, "thats right, how did you know?" "Been in business 60 years!" Joe tried on the shoes and they fit perfectly. Joe walked comfortably around the shop and the salesman asked "how about some new underwear?" Joe thought for a second and said, "sure!" The salesman stepped back, eyed Joes waist and said "Lets see... size 36." Joe laughed, "Ah ha! I got you Ive worn a size 34 since I was 18 years old." "The salesman shook his head, "you cant wear a size 34, it will press your testicles up against the base of your spine and give you one hell of a headache."

Morning Mick...wow, great job on the garage door. Bet your neighbours wake up thinking I wonder what he's up to today. LOL Same old garden meeting...listen to everyone yak back and forth until I've had enough and simply say...so this is what we're going to do. Puts a stop to that. Looking forward to my afternoons off starting today.

Lav...yes it is a bummer and now I'll have another week that I don't actually have the time to take off. Our policy is not to pay out unused vacation but the board agreed to pay out last year as I was basically covering for my MIA boss. Will have to see what they decide for this year.

September will bring lots of Doctor appointments, gearing up to my cataract surgery in October. It'll be nice to actually see out both my eyes. LOL

                            MAE ALL...

Det...doesn't it feel like you just concur one issue only to have another one rear it's ugly head? All we can do it deal with things one at a time. I always remember Mick telling me to sort things into boxes in my head and then just open one box at a time. It helped.

Lav...so was it you that bought the winning ticket at the little store? Nobody's come forward yet.

Mick...I think Julie is wise to wait. Sometimes getting advice from professionals is easier to take then getting it from your children. I'm glad you're planning on getting away next month. You've still got your own lives to live. We've finally sorted out my MIL's will changing it so the grandchildren are responsible for decisions not my crazy ex. September should fly by, it's the busiest month of the year for me.

Pauly...hope the tummy problems ease up soon. Remember cheese and crackers. I also found apples will neutralize any acid in your stomach.

Enjoyed my afternoon off yesterday, was able to play bridge with the seniors. Hoping we all have a great Thursday....:smile:PPQP

                              Happy Thursday ABerooooskies!

Mick, thanks for the successful launch. Sorry to hear Julie is down, I'm sure that's no fun.

Lav, yay for cooler temps! weather here is all over the place, so far looking like sunshine.

well, exciting day here... managed to get the morning off so I can do a F2F interview with the medical
place as they just happen to have a regional manager in town.... 10am here we go!

Pauly, keep trucking... hydrate etc. best we can do sometimes.

PPQ, is bridge a fun game? never tried it myself. Game I tend to play most is called 'where is the other sock that
                              matches this one?'.

Happy to be feeling pretty decent physically and mentally. Health is such a biggie.

beauuuutiful day, great bike ride to nowhere and of course work.

Mick, those type of decisions are hard and guilt prone. a vaca sounds like a good idea.
Pauly, what kind of yuk have you concocted? Almost over of my sinus bout, 3 weeks later.
PQ, how have you been? August did a pretty good job hurrying along.
Det, my parents were bridge fiends, they loved to play. I never did learn to play.
Lav, quite the pics of your driveway!

                                Vying tomorrow!
