Morning friends,hi Star wondered where you were this morning but then remembered you have the little guy so obviously busy woke up feeling sickly, not sick just takes a bit for the cobwebs to clear even being AF,Lav,I doubt I'll see creep but I'm sure he'll screw up traffic with this visit, why so quick to come here but dragged ass getting to Puerto Rico? Those people need him more I'd think, then he acted so condescending to them when he was talking,I can't believe he still has followers, just shows how low people have become Cyn,what's up for today? Off to wake up more fully, wishing us all a happy AF Wednesday
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

        Re: Optimistic October

Hi all - writing before I close my eyes for a bit. Even though I try to get to bed by 10, it always seems to be later, 11-ish. I'm trying to retrain myself for getting up at 6:30 -- when did I become such a slug?! I get very tired in the afternoons...

Star, I hope your kid-time was good --

Lav, I was taken aback when you wrote that the shooter was a 'she'... I guess, why not... but hard to hear. I had a client that was a gun nut. An arsenal of guns at the house, she and her husband were far right wing nuts, but she was also into reiki and yoga and stuff, strange. I would never be surprised if I heard of some trouble they were involved in. RE: bday, glad you don't sweat the small stuff. HB's daughter was totally MIA this year, and they are very close... sometimes I think they're either not paying attention or it's some statement that I don't have the energy to figure out. Whatever!

Pauly, take care and go slow if you can... you've had plenty of shocks to your system, plus the change of seasons can be exhausting, I think. I can imagine that watching a kid when you're sleepy would be hard !! Good luck with all the emotions swirling in your city now...

Accomplished a lot today, thank goodness. I may reward myself with a British mystery tonight. Wishing all a good AF Hump Day eve... (hello Sooty...)

          Re: Optimistic October

          Good evening friends,

Cyn, today was Hump day, just in case you were thinking it wasn't
Have you noticed the moon is full or nearly so? Still messes with my sleep, ha ha!

We went to Longwood Gardens this afternoon for a walkabout then on to meet our daughter & her family for the birthday dinner. It was nice, everyone happy & in a good mood. I had baked some dairy free muffins to take along instead of cake. My granddaughter is dairy free like me & she likes the stuff I bake
My son texted me a few hours before we left home asking if I could watch the boys for a few hours around dinnertime. I just said no, I was going out & didn't tell him where we were going. I wasn't in the mood for more family dysfunction stuff, oh well.

Hello to Star who is probably exhausted right about now!
Hello to Pauly, I hope the traffic jams weren't too bad due to 45's visit, ugh!

          Have a nice night everyone!

            Morning all -

Just an AM checkin - I hope everyone is doing OK...

Lav, I meant to wish everyone a happy Hump Day evening, ha! I get pretty confused about the days, but I actually knew it was Wednesday. Seriously, your son wanted you to watch the boys, but didn't say anything about his Dad's birthday? Sheesh. What a lucky granddaughter to have someone that bakes for her -- otherwise she would feel so left out. Hope you had a nice time. Yes, I saw that great big moon! I woke up a few times, but didn't have any long 'monkeybrain' moments in the night, thank goodness.

            Take care, all!

              Good morning all...

It's raining and we need and I like a rainy day! A workman is coming over at 9 to fix a light fixture I hope, then I can do whatever I want for the rest of the day!

Lav, nice you had a good dinner with YB and family. You handled your son with the least amount of drama. Good for you.

Pauly, hope you have a good day and are able to take care of yourself. How is Kell doing and how is the pregnancy going?

Cyn, I did have good kid time, but as usual felt relief when they left. LOL. I think that's what makes life so sweet, appreciating when you have family over, but then appreciating when they leave too. I am working today on appreciation, being on my own, getting things done that need doing. I just finished a great book, After the Eclipse, but it was heavy, and so today, I'll read something light, easy. I am staying away from the news today too, I don't need to be annoyed and upset. Hope you are in a peaceful place and get the things done that you need to.

              Have a good one all.

                  Greetings friends,

Just started drizzling here too at 8 pm. We need rain, it's been extra dry the past few weeks.
Took YB out for lunch since neither of us had anything pressing to do. I think we were the youngest people in the entire restaurant, ha ha!! There are quite a few 55+ communities up in that area. I hope I can still get out & get around when I am THAT old, ha ha!
YB had to go move tons of pumpkins from the auction to the Amish store after dinner tonight so that's when I got my work done as well. See? We are still working shift work

Hello to Star, Pauly & Cyn!
I am pretty sure tomorrow is Friday just in case anyone is wondering
                  Have a nice night everyone.

                    Good morning...

I feel like I caught my grandson's cold from him, darn, but fighting it off. I do not want to be sick, again. Geez.

Pauly, hope your day was good.

Cyn, know you are really busy and hope everything went well.

Lav, sounds like you and YB are having a little fun, lunches out, YB hanging out with the Amish, good for you! Yes, we have had more rain and need it too. More on the way today and tomorrow, and that is OK. Friday and no plans today, just exercise and grocery shopping. Read two good books this week, have a bunch more on the coffee table. Focusing on gratitude and peace. Hope you have a great day.

                    Have a great AF Friday.

                      Morning all -

Star, good to hear how things are going. Glad you got your book reading in, that's a bonus! You are inspiring with your focus on gratitude, thanks for that reminder. I sure hope the rain makes it this far... we really need it, especially since the weather has turned hot and humid again... I hope you side-step that cold! Good luck with that.

Lav, YB must be getting himself in pretty good shape, handling all of those pumpkins - or do the Amish load the truck? I went to look at a couple of pumpkins, but they were too much for me to handle, and I decided no outside autumn decorations this year... one less thing to worry about! I love the idea of '"shirt work", that's a perfect way to describe my life ! Puts a good spin on everything! Thanks for that...

Pauly, you doing OK? I bet you wish you could just close your eyes and shut out the world about now, I know I would. I hope you can focus on good happy family times, and that your Smile Buddy is giving you some joy ---

Working today and cleaning the house for HB tonight and SD tomorrow. Crossing fingers for a Drama-free weekend...

Happy FRIDAY all, wishing you a safe, AF day.

It just makes me too nervous to even think about it went to Walgreen's to pick up my pics yesterday wearing my Jammie bottoms, noticed some odd looks but people here do it all the time, got home and was opening the bag up and realized I had forgotten that I let Louie draw"tattoos" on my arms earlier with a marker! Ugh people probably thought I was on drugs, how embarrassing haha, wishing us all a happy, light,AF Friday

                          Re: Optimistic October

                          Greetings friends!

Yesterday I told YB that he probably will be an Amish farmer in his next life but he will have to marry someone else - I ain't going there, ha ha!!!
He's busy doing all this transporting of pumpkins & produce but does not do a lot of heavy lifting, believe me. They actually have some funky tools that work like fork lifts to lift these heavy pallets of pumpkins & things. The Amish are pretty smart & inventive thinkers.

Star, I hope you are taking your probiotics! I swear they prevent you from picking up most viral things. I still take mine twice/day & always will.
Gratitude has absolutely been an important tool for me. I realized all those years I was holding a pity party for myself (and drinking) were nothing but a huge waste of time & my health. I have been grateful every single day for finding the strength to haul myself out of that hole. Gratitude works

Cyn, I hope you do have a drama free weekend, goodness!
I see your Senator Chris Murphy popping up in the news quite a bit lately. He seems like a good guy!
I hope PA gets smart & dumps Pat Toomey next time around. He's a total GOP a$$ kisser.

Pauly, ha ha on the Louie tattoos!!!!
When my daughter was in high school I watched her walk out of the house wearing her PJs a few times & thought she was nuts. We only lived a half block from the high school at the time & figured if they tossed her out she could just go home & go back to bed!

                          Have a nice night everyone!

                            Re: Optimistic October

                            Good morning...

Pauly, you are right, having my grandson in my face, coughing and wiping his nose was the reason I caught his cold. Ugh. This happened to me the last two years too, otherwise I am usually pretty healthy. My daughter has it too. I wouldn't want my son to work at 7-11 either, too dangerous. Hard with that first job, no skills, but fast food is always an option. They are starting to hire for Christmas around the retail stores around here, that would be a nice first job, I think. What teenager wouldn't want to be at the mall? Who cares if you ran out in pj pants with tats, haha. I bet you were cute.

Lav, I don't take probiotics, no meds for me. I just got this cold from my grandson. When my kids were little I would catch their colds too. I have been taking good care of myself, eating lots of veggies, exercising and lots of sleep, so nothing I did wrong to catch this. Exposure. Hopefully I'll kick it quickly. I had to unexpectedly run to my daughter's house yesterday, she had a day from hell, all sorts of things were going wrong and I helped out with the boys, the baby is fussy, teething and can't get comfortable. Their air conditioning broke, so it was a little muggy. I am staying home today, maybe a friend may come over and later the store, but staying in and resting as much as possible. Exciting weekend for me.

Cyn, hope your weekend visit is drama free, my son is back from his week away and he was drama free so far. I can always hope.

                            Have a happy AF Saturday.

                              Morning all -

Star, sorry you are sick - I remember friends who taught elementary school, and they said the first year was terrible, then they built up immunity to most bugs. I hope that works for you too! Do you do fermented foods or yogurt to get those 'good bugs' going? Hope you have a quieter weekend. Do you have another good book to read?

Pauly, you really made me laugh about your Walgreen's trip! That is hysterical. So many people have tats now, I can't imagine anyone even noticing. I did a stage production once where I put markers on to simulate tats - it was a long run, and I think by the end the toxicity of the markers was really hard on my health... now I am reading so much about absorption of good stuff through the skin and what not to put on skin... eeek! Ah, youth.

Lav, no I can't quite see you in a bonnet for all of your life! Ha! But you certainly do have the touch for raising happy chickens - and the most photogenic! I think you could start selling the photos of your flock -- never mind the excellent eggs. re: Chris Murphy, yep he's the real deal. Gun laws are a hot ticket here in CT, and the NRA and Bannon really want him out of the job. I'm gearing up to work on his campaign; he's going to need all the help he can get. Our House Rep Elizabeth Esty is great too, as is Richard Blumenthal, our other Senator. They all will have tough re-election fights because of big money. Sad, as they are all fighting so hard for the little guys.

Long day yesterday cleaning the house and getting the yard kind of picked up and worked with a client. I picked up some food for dinner from a great little restaurant called The Farmer's Wife. I just picked up a variety of things... I can't seem to wrap my head around cooking for other people these days, especially not a picky eater! But I did pick up a bunch of fun kid's birthday things to make it a fun atmosphere. I remember once I did a birthday dinner for an adult, and we had hats and boas and squeakers and even played pin the tail on (at that time it was George Bush!). That was memorable.

Wishing all a healthy, healing AF Saturday.
