MAE. I forgot to answer Cyn's question re the printer. It is in m y storage and I'm moving everything out today to a garage I've rented in front of my apt.

Our weather turned much cooler today 46 deg. Still not as cold as you all. I have a couple of things to return and watch the movers:happy2:
Hi to everyone else, I have to move quickly today, may jump in later.

        Re: Dazzling December

        Greetings friends,

Well we did get a bit more snow overnight, not much just a heavy coating really. It is cold though, seriously!
I just posted a picture on FB of icicles hanging off of the wreath on the chicken house, ha ha! Good thing they don't seem to mind this weather.

Star, glad your dishes turned out well, that's a plus when you get a thumbs up from others
With everything I have to do this week we decided to hop in the car & take a trip to Ikea this afternoon. That took up the entire afternoon but it was a nice break.

Hi Pauly, hope your day was good.

SK, you sound busy too, hope everything went well for you.

Cyn, on the move - hope the roads are good for you!

We had a leak from our icemaker warp several boards on the kitchen floor (not to mention the giant puddle it made in the basement).
We had the insurance adjustor here & have already received a check ($$). We are waiting on an estimate to schedule the work but will probably put it off for a few months. We will have to have several boards replaced & the floors throughout the house refinished because the floors flow from room to room (open floor plan). So we will have to vacate the house for several days. I'm thinking we could take an early spring trip down to the beaches of VA & NC - we'll see. I'm already trying to figure out where to board the cat & the dog & try to find someone to look after the chickens for a few days. This is a pain & one of the reasons we haven't traveled anywhere together in recent years.
If anyone is interested in chicken sitting please let me know, HA HA!!

        Have a nice night everyone!
        Lav

          Re: Dazzling December

          Good morning...

Hello to everyone, I am up at 5 am, not sure why, slept well, was super busy yesterday, and guess I just did not need alot of sleep.

Lav, sorry your floor is a mess, but nice to go on a short trip. Maybe some of your husband's Amish friends would watch the animals for a few days. Were you looking for something specific at Ikea? We have an Ikea, newly built in our area, but I have not been there yet. No reason to go. So wondered what would interest you there.

Pauly, its Friday and your're off! Any special plans, shopping? I went shopping yesterday for a few things, now more wrapping to do.

Skendall, you are taking care of business, getting settled more and more. The 40s temps are OK, better than 20s and teens.

Cyn, hope you are doing well.

I have a party to go to later today. I know alot of the women drink wine, so will just make sure to have sparkling water or something. I went to another event with this group and only one woman was drinking, and alot. She drove too. Scary. Most women did not drink, just tea or water, no big deal. So there you go. Have a great AF Friday.

Morning friends,Star, yep I've got to get the rest of my shopping done and out of my hair today! Going to Kell's doc appointment with her then we'll have lunch then go blow money, went to the sketchers store yesterday to buy hubs some shoes then yes we may have strolled to the yogurt shop haha, have fun at your party I really hate that Christmas is so drenched in alcohol, was watching Christmas vacation last night and just seeing the few bits of drinks in there made me feel a bit cravey I know someday I'll be past all that but right now its bugging me even tho I certainly don't want to drink,Cyn,are you back home and sorted?SK,sounds like you have some plans for the weekend, should be fun,Lav,yikes sorry about the floor,I hope its not in a place anyone can trip on? Wishing us all a fabulous AF Friday

              Re: Dazzling December

Hi guys, sorry to miss yesterday. Really busy, plus crazy HB business things going on at the same time, all the same old traumas... kind of good to see the drama from a different place, more calm and 'whatever'.

Sounds like all is chugging along - we are back home, and now have the delicious task of 'folding in' another 1/3 of belongings, books, clothing and food into our house! Ah well, time will make it all work.

Lav, my brother's birthday is on Dec 24, and I have alwys been sorry. This year I hope to get his gift off to him a few days early so that he can celebrate. It's COLD here! 12 degrees when we drove in from NYC.

Pauly, I missed the news about the new manager -- do tell!

Star, bean and orange soup, that's a new one! Good for you, it all sounds yummy.

SK, the place by the creek sounds wonderful -- it reminds me of the Riverwalk in San Antonio - I used to work at a trade show there each January, and I looked forward to the experience. Tortilla soup is a favorite of mine!

Wishing all a good night and sweet dreams -- happy Saturday tomorrow.

                Re: Dazzling December

                Greetings friends,

It's currently 19 degrees with 2 1/2" of fresh snow on the ground, yuck.
My daughter texted me while she was stuck in traffic trying to get home from work a few hours ago. The bulk of the snow fell right before rush hour which makes for a crappy commute.

Star, I hope the party wasn't too big of a problem.
I like to stroll thru Ikea every once in a while. They have pretty cool kitchen items & I do like their selection of candles & some of their fabrics for pillows & bedding. Definitely nicer than Walmart stuff anyway.

Pauly, I've been noticing the AL commercials lately - over the damn top
I also notice people like Rachael Ray pushing mixed 'cocktails' on her 10 am cooking show, WTF? That's just irresponsible.
I hope everything is OK with Kell, baby time will be here soon!

Cyn, I imagine you are seeing this snow as well. Be careful if you are outside!

SK, our temp is supposed to rebound & it will be hitting 50 next Tuesday, my birthday, ha ha!
I hope you had a decent day!

I am trying to split my time between a few work projects, wrapping gifts & beginning the task of baking cookies. I decrease the number of cookies each year so at some point I won't have to bother anymore - getting lazy, LOL
                Have a peaceful night everyone!

He made another girl manager and oh are some of those girls upset! Oh well it means they are gonna hafta pay their rent on time and in full! Lav,Kell's appointment went well and doc says anytime after next week if she went into labor it would be fine so its basically a waiting game now wrapped some presents and I'm tired with a capital T,, I dunno why it wears me out so bad but sheesh, wishing all a peaceful night

                        Re: Dazzling December

                        Evening all -

So glad to hear all are chugging along. Lav, so sorry that you had a leak in the house, and that it's so complicated to travel... but maybe there will be a silver lining if you find the right people to watch the animals. I swear 1/3 of our budget goes for dog care! I would like to make a batch or two of cookies, but not sure the at will happen. I managed it last year, even getting little gift baskets off to my clients, but I'm not thinking that's going to happen. I spent 4 hours today going through the mail and paying bills - yikes, it's been awhile! Pauly, wow, even after the chick was robbing him he let her stay? Well, I hope that the change improves the work situation there. Exciting news about Kell! Good luck with the waiting. SK, I thought of another thing I've seen people do for faxes - if you have an iPad with a data plan, there are apps out there that let you scan via taking a picture and then emailing it. My pad is ancient, but my husband sends things that way all the time. Anyway, good luck with it all. Stay warm! Star, how did it go with your son? I hope well... I'm sure your house looks beautiful!

Well, off to open the latest batch of mail that I just brought in the house, and maybe to make some date-nut bread... an old and wonderful recipe that makes 6 loaves - you bake them in cans, like corn or other 14 oz. veggie tins! I hope it works, my memory is that they are delicious...

Wishing all a safe and warm night ---

                          Re: Dazzling December

                          Forgot to log out yesterday.
                          Cyn, thanks for the tip.
My cleaning lady was a no show today. All that time I spent cleaning for the cleaning lady! It's mostly bendy things. If I was an ape with those long arms I could pick up as I walk along. haha. I bought a back brace and it may be helping. Give it a bit more timer.
                          Good news on Kell.
Lav hi 50's and mid-60's for us until next weekend and snow! I find inspiration from Ikea. Speaking of the Swedes, I just watched a Netflix show about the Ice Hotel there. I felt chilled watching the footage even! The guests all say they get a really good night's sleep with 3 layers of clothing and down sleeping bags and something over their noses. Either way it's a brilliant execution of a novel idea.

It's a program from BBC called beyond the lobby, or something. On my bucket list is the Giraffe Manor. Giraffes just poke their heads into open windows. 2nd floor is the same height as giraffe's neck.

I am staring at my boxes in the garage and there is no way the contents of those boxes will fit into my apt.

                          Laters.

Star, I hope your day went well.

                            Re: Dazzling December

                            Good evening friends,

A nice neighbor plowed the driveway for us this morning. I think he does that because we give him free eggs, ha ha!
The sun came out & made things look nice after yesterday's snow storm.
I did get out this afternoon to get a new phone. My old phone was getting pretty beat up so now I have an iPhone 8, will take some getting used to but it's nice.

Star, hope yo had a good day!

Pauly, I hope you had a good day as well.
That's very exciting about Kell, I hope she gets thru Christmas before the big event, LOL I imagine Louie must be excited too!

SK, why no show for the cleaning lady? Geez, you would think folks would want a paycheck, especially this time of year.
I worked weekends & holidays all during my nearly 30 years in nursing - there was no choice, we had to be there.
Is there a possibility you could have a garage sale after the holidays? Maybe not having room for everything is a blessing in disguise, ha ha! We need to get rid of some extra stuff around here too. Our kids don't want old stuff from us so it may as well be sold.
I hope your back brace is helping you out

Cyn, I have a few months to figure out what to do about the animals. I'll figure out something, I hope!
At least when it's all over I'll have new looking floors again
The date nut bread sounds good. Maybe I'll look up a recipe because I have a huge bag of dates from Costco sitting here doing nothing.
I try to get all the bills paid at once since it's done online it's pretty quick. Not my favorite thing to do by far.

                            Have a nice night everyone!

                              Re: Dazzling December

                              Good morning...

Slept late today, 7:30, looks like I'll miss yoga, I need time to wake up.

Pauly, how exciting, Kell is so close, I bet Louis is not sure what is going on? I mean, he knows, but cannot really understand how things will change. It is going to be wonderful! Nice to get your Christmas shopping done or almost done. My son and I wrapped yesterday, he did his shopping, then brings it to my house to wrap. It was fun. Regarding that party, I went to the house, no one answered, so I left. Later a friend texted me and said we are all here come in and I did not respond. Were they drinking? I don't know and was pissed off I went over there for no reason. I feel alcohol could have been involved and don't have time for that. Annoying.

Cyn, I never thought about the challenges in having someone move back in with all their stuff after a few months. It would be alot of work. I have to declutter after the first of the year. Added many new things to this house. As far as doing alot of baking or even sending out cards, I'm not doing it. I made up my mind and will just send to the two people who sent to me. Too much work and I look at them then recycle them. I am feeling stressed about the Christmas meal already, I just don't want to cook all that this year. Sounds selfish, but that is how I feel.

Skendall, isn't it amazing how much stuff/things we accumulate over the years? I first moved in 2005 and had so much to get rid of, then moved in 2014 and let go of even more. Now, I seem to have filled in those empty spots and should declutter again. A project for the new year. Your weather sounds comfortable, cool but not cold. Enjoy.

Lav, I just pay the bills as they come, and they always arrive! We have no snow and it was in the high 40s yesterday, kind of nice. Today, rain is expected no snow. Sorry you got so much snow. I am going to look up some WFPB cookies or something today. My goal is to eat WFPB all week, till Christmas Eve, I feel so much better. We went out to eat on Friday and I did not feel so good afterwards, my body rebelled, so eating in is the way to go for me. I am sure it is that way for you most of the time too.

Have a lovely peaceful AF Sunday.

Morning friends,Star,I'm sure Lou will be a great big brother,I think hell be too protective to be jealous much, hope so anyways,he and I made some "healthy" cookies yesterday with almond butter, banana, coconut flour and choc chips but the banana was too overpowering to me so I threw out the rest of the batter no sense in making a bunch of cookies nobody will eat,I am gonna try like heck to eliminate most sugar after Christmas,I'm noticing it messes up my mood a lot, weird about the party,,it more than likely was a drinking scene who wants/needs that? Boring. Cyn,are you getting into the holiday spirit at all? Im finding it hard this year, ugh,SK,I couldn't stay in an ice hotel,in my head I'd just think it was too cold even if it wasn't,beautiful to look at though,Lav,I might give amoryn a shot again,I'm thinking of just half a capsule to start with and build from there,I had horrible low mood yesterday afternoon and I know during TOM I need a little boost,I can tell the feeling cuz it feels like butterflies in my stomach, brain fog,a weepiness, just a shit feeling and I'm tired of it,only problem was last time I tried it I got revved up anxiety and blood pressure as I mentioned but maybe taking a smaller starting out dose would help,I'll keep you posted, wishes for a sober, serenity filled Sunday
