    Re: Joyous January

    Good morning...

Snowing here again today, we are in the middle of winter and I am tired of the cold, dark and snow.

Lav, you have your house back! Yay! Instant pot week here I hope. I have alot to do this week, I have to plan to get it all done.

Cyn, enjoy having your husband home, hope the weather there is not too harsh.

Pauly, grandson will be born today! Can't wait to hear.

Skendall, hope this week is better!

    Have a good AF Monday.

      Re: Joyous January

      Morning all -

Pauly, sending Kell and you good vibes for today... hugs!

SK, here's sending you wishes for a good week to come - good sleep, and good karma...

Star, I look forward to hearing about your instapot week...

Lav, you made me laugh with the "retriever breath" comment, ha! I'm so sorry about your brother; sending men and women into war really changes them fundamentally, and it ends up changing the whole family. An acquaintance of mine had to divorce her husband after his tours of duty in Iraq -- it was her 12 -year-old daughter that told me that 'war changes the whole family', so extremely sad.

Today I am sending light to all those who suffer the deep pains of trauma... and to their families. May we be well ---

          Re: Joyous January

I'm sorry for all that mess Pauly, it must be nerve-wracking. We are all here supporting you and Kell. This last year has taught me that the medical profession and staff are unpredictable.

Cyn and Star, thank you. Today I have Vivian in the afternoon, it's a bonus. Since I had my storage items brought here, she loves to go into the garage and find "treasures". Too funny. I hope you enjoy husband back, Cyn

Lav, I am surprised at the photocopying issue in that these are confidential records. Glad you have your home back. Cook on! When not sleeping and waiting too long to take something happens, I relax once I start to accept it. I don't nap well, but yesterday I did. Speaking of tomato roses, I found fiddling with that was very therapeutic.

50 and sunny today. I'm sure it is the start of a positive, new week.

MLK was surely a great man.

            Re: Joyous January

            Greetings friends,

We had a cold & dark day today but I made it better by stitching up a bunch of red lace hearts, ha ha! My daughter needs 24 of them for her scout troop activity & I got the job. Snow coming tomorrow, swell.

SK, while I was searching on Amazon last night for higher dose melatonin I found someone selling a powdered product in a pouch. I like the ideaof a supplement with no fillers. The magnesium stearate they put in everything does a number on my gut. I ordered the pouch & a scoop that would equal 10mg. Should be here by Wednesday. I was awake from 1:30 - 4:45 this morning, I am tired of this.
MLK was a good man, such a shame his life & work were cut short. 45 spent the day today on his private golf course after telling us we should all go do a day of service.

Star, hope you didn’t get too much snow. The middle of January & all of February have always been tiresome to me too!
Hope you get everything done this week.

Pauly, that’s a real shame thry messed up like that. Your poor girl must be pissed off, I certainly would be. Hang in there & be the support she needs right now

Cyn, I grew up listening to WW II stories. Both of my brothers went into the military. I was in the process of signing up to go into the Air Force reserves after college but I let my parents & boyfriend talk me out of going. It was 1973,Vietnam was about over, I never would have been sent. I just wanted to do my part & have the experience but was talked out of it & I still regret that. I know everyone changes but sometimes that’s just what’s needed. I really let the recruiter down, believe me.
I hope you had an excellent day

Ok, wishing everyone a peaceful night!

              Re: Joyous January

              Interesting posts, good morning...

Pauly, so sorry that the hospital/doctors messed up so badly. That is just beyond belief, really. Poor Kell, nothing to do but go forward. Try to get some rest before Wednesday.

Skendall, so nice to have your granddaughter, I bet you two had fun.

Cyn, I made the Buddha bowls finally and they were good. My son was off early and I went to his house and showed him how to make hummus, he was happy to know how easy and inexpensive homemade is.

Lav, I was up from 3:30 am on. I woke up with a headache(probably the extreme cold) and could not go back to sleep. I read for a few hours and feel really tired now. Darn. I exercised, was busy all day, no nap, no caffeine after morning coffee, so have no idea what this sleep problem is. Very annoying. Something is going on with me, swelling around my right eye, I must have eaten something that caused inflammation again. We went out to eat this weekend and I swear it is not good for me. But I want to go out sometimes. It may be the cheese I had come to think of it. What do you think, could cheese cause a reaction like that? Wish it would go away. I am not getting my grandson this week, too cold and my husband is still fighting his cold, we need to take it easy this week. This cold weather takes it out of you for sure.

              Have a good one all.

                Morning all -

Pauly, So sorry about that mess up! Dear me, what a trial, and then a blown tire on top of it all. So glad that you are being Kell's ROCK, she really needs it now. Sorry about your time off, I hope all works out.

SK - thanks for writing about MLK, yes, what a contrast and what an inspiration. I love that Vivian likes to find treasures in your stored stuff. Believe me, I have clients that feel the same way when they open boxes that haven't been unpacked for decades! I myself need to go through the things I sent to myself after my mother passed - the seals on the boxes haven't been touched. It will be 4 years in February... it's time to see why is in there.

Star, all OK with you? Maybe you are having fun with grandson...

Lav, I think you HAVE spent your life in service!! You have given so much to all in whatever job you had, I don't think you need to worry about the Air Force piece... glad that you are finding the supplements you need- sorry about the sleep loss!

Well, HB is home - with a fresh cold. It was strange sleeping with another person, not to mention a person that was coughing and sneezing on me all night long! Uuuugh. It will take some to for us to re-integrate - he really was spoiled by his hosts in NC! I'm trying to think ahead and take care of all my 'buttons' ahead of time, menu planning (for the snowstorm to come), time management, making boundaries politely clear. Wish me luck!

Sending all peace today, it feels a little rocky! I am off to do my guided meditation to get grounded and happy/powerful... wishing all the same.

                  Re: Joyous January

A chilly 14 deg. in TX! Yep, dripping the faucets and opening cabinet doors.

                  How are you doing Pauly?

Vivian came over and we went to the garage, she only had a light jacket on so she wanted back inside. She did score a small pewter vase and put it on my, oops her etagere/dining room dresser.

We watched some Netflix and after she left I could not find the remote. It's very slim (Samsung) and I have a dark charcoal couch. Then I found it in the garbage! All is well. I imagine I spend 30 minutes a day looking for that so I bought a Smart Item Finder.

Lav, I hope that product helps you, we are all in need of quality sleep. I ordered seaweed snacks today because they contain super nutrients.
When I first moved to WA state we were only 10 min from the ocean and a lot of seaweed. My friend used to pickle it and had many recipes.

I've ordered another Himalayan salt lamp to remove negative ions, hopefully.

The office contacted me to tell me I was being charged a late fee, except I wasn't late. Last week I gave them a copy of all my January transactions. Obviously they didn't use it and asked for another copy this a.m. I'm so done with this and I won't accept a late fee. I guess they scan checks in their system and mine wasn't scanned in the system , but somehow that was my fault. I'm not going to worry about minutiae any more, because a lot of it is minutiae.

It will be a good week!

BTW, did anyone have trouble getting on MWO yesterday?

                    Re: Joyous January

                    Good evening friends,

We had a light coating of snow overnight that melted right off when the sun arrived. More snow coming tinight, ho hum.
I’ve been asked to meet the boys at their bustop tomorrow afternoon & bring them here for a few hours. Guess I’ll be feeding them & supervising homework. Been there & done that a few million times, ha ha!

Star, for me the worst offender is dairy! For others it’s gluten or artificial sweeteners or other ingredients.
I get an immediate gut reaction (like WW III going on in there). Continued exposure brings on swelling, joint pain, headaches, etc.
I get tired of cooking 7 days per week so I like to get out too but have to be extremely careful. Does Benadryl help you at all?
I was awake quite a few times last night but wasn’t bothered with excessive hot flashes. Trying to look on the bright side sometimes is a real challenge. Hope you feel better soon!

Cyn, how thoughtful of your husband to bring a rhinovirus home, ugh.
I just don’t have much patience for that stuff anymore, glad I retired when I did
Since YB retired from the college where he was working he’s not had all those nasty viral things. Schools are germ factories, nursery thru college, ha ha! I hope you had a good day!

SK, I’m getting close to wanting to come out there & give some people a major dose of Lavan-ittude! GEEZ, you must be a magnet for annoying people. I mean that in the nicest way possible.
I know you won’t let anyone take advantage of you but just be careful. Keep your eyes & ears open
It’s wonderful to have your granddaughter nearby. Kids are oftentimes the best company!

                    Pauly, thinking of you!

                    Have a peaceful night everyone!

                        Good morning...

Congrats Pauly!!!!!! Thanks for letting us know.

Lav, it is hard to cook 7 days a week but I need to do that for right now. My face is swollen when I wake up and it is uncomfortable. Nice you have your grandsons, enjoy.

Cyn, oh no, not a cold in the house. Thanks a lot. It would be a readjustment with your husband coming and going. Hope ou have some fun and he takes you out.

Skendall, people are sometimes so incompetent it is unbelievable, then if you don't have the paperwork you pay twice or late fees or whatever. Makes life complicated. Hope today is better and good you found your remote. That would cause a crisis in our house.

It is super cold here and just painful, but I have that heater going in the laundry room and drinking some hot coffee. Have a good one.

Morning friends,Cyn,nothing worse than trying to sleep next to a sick hubs! Mine has a smokers cough and I've been known to smack him in the middle of the night! He needs to quit anyways,,we both do,I was doing great but my lack of sleep makes me wanna smoke for some reason, also I had a brief AL thought yesterday from being sooo tired, put the brakes on that real fast! Curious what's in the box, open it Star,I hope you get to the bottom of the swelling, when I took the food sensitivity test Lav suggested last year I had sensitivity to all sorts of things that you wouldn't suspect, mushrooms(which I love) yeast, gluten, lobster, tuna, black pepper??? All kinds of weird things but the biggest one was pineapple which surprised me,just saying that even "healthy" foods can offend some of us,dairy was fine for me except mozzarella cheese but I still gotta have my pizza! You seem a bit quiet I hope everything is ok,not being nosy just wondering,SK,I love how Vivian is a treasure hunter,so cute! Lav,those hearts are beautiful,I forgot to tell you that the girls were so impressed with the ornaments they wanted to take one home but I'm greedy and said no my friend gave me those haha, can't believe what an angel baby Romeo is! He was looking around all aware and looked us all in the face just so cute! Kell's doing great and is just enamored with the little guy,so is Lou,,I was calling Romeo and alien and Lou said angrily"he's not an alien Nan!" He's a good big brother off to fix a food, woke up starving, hey I'm wondering if I should start having a small snack before bed? Maybe I'll sleep better? Wishes for a happy AF Wednesday

Wow, Pauly I saw Romeo's pic on facebook, he's gorgeous! Romeo is a good name. In the confusion I thought she was being induced today, no matter, he's made a wonderful grand entry.

Got the office squared away. If it happens again they will have to prove that I didn't have enough funds. I also got a dig in about the late fee. Egg over their faces.

19 deg and sunny. Now the 20mph winds have stopped it feels a lot warmer. I'm sure you all have all driven through farm countries where the house is surrounded by trees to break the wind and for protection and that is a smart idea.

Lav, my daughter is a girl scout leader too. She has done a bit of a turnaround and greets me with big smiles (?) It's better than the other.
Star, any idea why your face is swollen? I went to the ER with the same problem and they shot my system though with adrenalyn, an almost instant fix. My swelling came from a poisonous spider.

I have shopping and paperwork to do today. Laters.

                                Good evening friends,

Cold where with a fresh coating of snow. They closed schools today so I didn't have to go greet my grandsons after all. I was kind of looking forward to a mid-week visit.
I finished up the embroidery job for my daughter & will get it in the mail tomorrow. I'll go ahead & stitch up some extra red hearts if anybody wants one

Star, are you swollen on both sides of your face or just one side?
I ask because there was a time when I used to hold on to so much water that I would wake up with a visible bag of water under one eye - depending on which side I slept on - really weird. Sometimes I think it helps to keep a food diary for a while so we can identify which foods we react to - just an idea. Hope you feel better soon!

Pauly, CONGRATS Grandma, what a sweet baby :welldone:
I'm so happy the birth went well & Kell & Romeo are happy & healthy! I'll send you a few hearts to decorate for Valentine's day.

SK, good job getting that office straightened out - geez!!!!
Funny that we both have daughters that are girl scout leaders, small world. The cookie drive begins this week - oh the calories!!! I was good at avoiding GS cookies for years because of the dairy & now they're making dairy free/vegan cookies, ha ha! Guess I'll be packing on a few pounds this month, oh boy.

Cyn, I have a feeling most of the snow landed up your way. I hope you are managing to keep yourself out of your husband's germy way, LOL
                                Stay as healthy as possible!

Not much else happening here so I'll wish everyone a peaceful, germ-free night!
