Re: March Miracles~March 2018

Good evening friends,

SK, I personally don't care what brings the white house down ~ just so it happens soon
We realized today that after these frequent power outages our thermostat gets confused, ha ha. I was walking around mid-morning thinking geez, it's cold in here. I checked the thermostat & it was 64 degrees in the house which is the nighttime setting we use for cooler sleeping temps, Lol
I hope you are feeling a lot better today SK!

Pauly, my Fitbit tells me that I slept 7 hrs 12 min last night with only 3 minutes restless. I think that's a major improvement!!!!
I've been on the Relizen for 5 weeks or so & I'm faithful using the hormone balancing EOs & the hypnosis recordings. I guess it's all working together for me. I still have some hot flashes but if they're not destroying my sleep it's OK. There's nothing in the Relizen to give you the jitters so stick it out for at least 3 months as recommended for full effect. I hope Louie feels better 7 doesn't pass his cold onto the little guy (which they usually do).

Star, keeping busy is important for our well being. The trick is finding something that you like to do that won't add more stress in your life. Is there anyway to find a part time position?
Give yourself plenty of time, OK? You are doing great & getting stronger every day.
Would your son consider relocating to a 'friendlier' portion of the country? Geez, that's such a shame that people can't just be themselves wherever they live.
I have never lived anywhere near Pence country, I can only imagine what you're dealing with, sorry. I hope your trip is magical & restful & most of all peaceful

Cyn, how much snow did you end up getting? We stopped at 6" so I'm grateful & today was a good melting day, yay!

Wishing everyone a peaceful night!

Good morning. Feeling a bit better, I guess the blurriness stays for a while.

Lav, that's a big improvement on sleep. :yay:

Pauly, glad Louie is feeling better. Let's hope Romeo doesn't get it.

Star, I'm glad you're in a good place.

Hiya Cyn, how is it going.

Sorry to be brief.

Evening all --

Whew, home after driving from the city. I must say, that kind of takes the starch our of me, but I made it without incident, so grateful.

Star, if you see this, I wish you a truly happy time away... you do all you can for your on, and your affirmation is right -- all is well! Enjoy your Kindle, and try to relax. Congrats on going to your meetings.

Pauly, the thought of Romeo smiling and not wanting to stop is so adorable! I am making a mental image... somglD Louie is feeling better -- I hope you stay well too! that sounds like something good about Vegas, no judgement of people. I was thinking that about NYC too - lots of gay guys so happily walking arm in arm and dressed how ever they want to be dressed. It makes me happy to think that people, don't have to hide, and can be openly happy.

SK, glad to hear that it seems a bit better. What an ordeal. But you are great - in the midst of pain, enjoying that ride home with the world-traveling driver, ha, that was a funny story. Sending you continued healing!

Lav, it was a bad storm in CT; I felt helpless not being there to watch over everything and to shovel. The dear girl who dog sits did an incredible job keeping up - she must have gone out every hour for 12 hours! There is a path on the deck that is like a canyon - at least 20+ inches of snow on top of what we already had. NY was not nearly as bad, maybe 10, and by morning the crews had practically made it all gone - so much better than it used to be in the city when it snowed. Sorry about your power; let's hope this is the last of the big bad storms.

I arrived home to a 56 degree house , and no heat coming on when I upped the temp. Texted the plumber guy who installed the thing 4 years ago, and he got over pretty quickly, and they spent several hours working on it (same as 2 weeks ago!) but fixed it in the end. Things are warming up now. That's what we get for buying a fancy-ass German hi-efficiency propane furnace!

So glad to be home. The noise and everything in the city was starting to get on my nerves, I was feeling claustrophobic, which is unusual for me. You are right Lav, things seem to be changing at this age. So appreciative of this group where we can share experiences.

Good evening friends,

Still chilly out but it didn't snow today, yay. I am so ready for spring, can't wait!

Pauly, I don't want to jinx myself but yes......sleep has been improving little by little & I am SO grateful
I know that I really need to stick with the routine I've developed lately, watch what I'm eating (little to no sugar), etc.
Glad Louie is getting better. A smiling baby is a wonderful thing - enjoy!

SK, wonderful to see you checking in & happy to hear your report. I imagine you have a follow-up at the surgical center at some point? Your vision should be clearing after all you went thru. Take care of yourself

Cyn, glad you made it home safely. Geez, I don't think I could drive myself that far, knowing how the roads are outside NYC. You are a brave one!
You did get hammered with snow, sorry. Have you tried swearing in German at your heater? Ha ha! I hate that we get talked into buying fancy appliances with big price tags only to have them break down & wear out just like any other. Glad you have it fixed & starting to warm you up. Settle in & get cozy for the night

I am sad to hear that there are still some folks who have not had their power restored from last Friday's storm - can you imagine? I gripe when ours goes out for a day, geez.
We have had a good amount of melting yesterday & today so it's not bad, just muddy. Nothing special planned for the weekend, think I'll get back to some embroidery & sewing.

Star, wishing you safe travels & a wonderful time in FL.

Have a nice night everyone!

Re: March Miracles~March 2018

Morning all - just checking in because I can! Nothing needs to be done in the next half hour, so I am enjoying a second cup of tea - big bonus!

SK, I hope you're 'seeing' some improvement by now --- you surely have been handling a lot!

Star, hope you are in sunny Florida by now.

Pauly, I hope you didn't get Louie's cold!

Lav, melting sounds good - with over 2 feet of snow around here, and rain in the horizon, I think I better take some time to rake portions of the roof (from the ground!) before our eaves start to sag. How are the chicks? I well remember when we lost power here in 2011 for 5 days... I have never taken hot running water for granted since then! Good luck to those folks... too bad...

Well, the heat didn't get solved after all. We are limping along in the 50s for now. Lav, it was my brilliant husband's choice to have this put in - the only one for 50 miles around. The plumber is smart, but this is the only one he's seen... so much for believing Google results and deciding on a product on that basis! Oh well...

My hands are a little cold and the iPad is not responding too well, always putting in the wrong word, grr! So I will sign off for now, and check in again later. Cheers all for a sunny day --

Greetings friends,

Not a bad day, ha ha! Really didn't do much but a little cleaning & a little cooking.
I made a batch of lentil meatballs, yum
They are dairy & gluten free if anyone is interested. They go great over a pile of mashed potatoes.
Lentil Meatballs (Vegan, Gluten-Free) - Bing

Cyn, sorry you are dealing with a cold house, that gets old fast!
When we built this house I definitely wanted to put in some newer things like the tankless water heating system. The contractors looked at me like I was speaking Greek. I decided not to push them too far, ha ha! I hope you can get it working.....very soon!
The weather folks are teasing us with the possibility of a 3rd nor'easter this coming week. I swear I might pull my hair out if we do get another storm. I'm done with this nonsense.

Pauly, are you sure you don't want to try east coast living for a while? Its the 'right' coast, LOL

SK, hope you are well today & continuing to heal.

Star, enjoy your trip to sunny FL

Not sure what/if anything is going on tomorrow - we shall see.
Wishing everyone a nice night!

Cyn, what kind of heating system are you referring to? Thank you. I have hardly any pain in the eye, just a cluster of black dots. I've had a headache for days, but so do a lot of people on here. Everything is blooming here.

Lentil meatballs sound good Lav. I certainly hope none of you have more snow. Sheesh. Remember spring isn't far away and the nights are getting longer. Spring forward.

Hey Pauly and Star.

It was 73 here today - 80 tomorrow. I took Peggy to the dog park. The big dog side was chaos, but the little dog area was nice.

Re: March Miracles~March 2018

Morning all -

50 degrees in the house this morning. No hot water. Thank goodness for the propane fireplace that actually raises the temperature a few degrees and is cheerful. Enjoying my hot tea, which is steaming like mad in the cold air -- ha, it reminds me of camping... it could be a lot, lot worse! I have heaters strategically placed where I need them.

Lav, those meatballs sound great. I'll put the recipe in my back pocket or future reference. Since being on the trip, lot of stuff seems to inflame me... I've gone back to the SIBO food restrictions, so no legumes right now, sad. I did make LBH's African peanut soup last night - yum! And I made some coconut flour 'biscuits' too, but I'm afraid there were too many eggs in the recipe... I'll try bananas or flax seed next time.

SK, what good news that you have less pain... I know my neighbor who had cataract surgery (with the same doc both times) had a very different experience the second time, and she was worried. But all turned out well for her, so I hope it will for you too! Glad Peggy is getting her fun time in... my poor guy is totally snow-bound, there is literally no place to walk him except the tunnel pathways created by the dog sitter, bless her!

Pauly, good to hear from you! Sending you good vibes today.

"I stand within a Universe of possibilities". Wishing all to have happy things flowing in today.

Howdy ho y'all. I read over in the Abs threads everyday, but don't often post. But I've been following along watching if treegirl gets the heating issue resolved. Since I'm a plumbing/heating/ac contractor, these things get my attention lol. May I ask what brand of furnace it is Cyn, and did the plumber set it up properly using a combustion analyzer? 95% of new furnace problems aren't the furnace, it's the installation.
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Morning friends,Cyn,imagining you sitting in a cold house drinking steamy tea makes me sad but as you said it could be worse, could have no house or be out of tea haha hope you get it fixed fast,Lav,I got my Relizen yesterday and took one as soon as I opened the package, hope it helps me,Star hope you're enjoying your trip SK,Peggy's a lucky girl to have you as a mom,me and Louie argued over whether Winslow was my son and Dotty is his sister,he said"they're not humans Nan!" I said they are,,just fuzzy humans it was cute,hi Cowboy! I got Michelle here dealing with a break up,jeez, let's see how long this one lasts, she was crying hysterically last night but I waited til my movie was over to try to talk to her,not cuz I don't have sympathy,I do,just been through this a gazillion times with her and that guy! Remember Florida? Remember when he left her on the side of the road in California? Also countless other times I bitched about him here grrrrr, she should be glad he's setting her free, honestly he seems dangerous to me! Will get thru, wishes for a great AF Sunday

Greetings friends,

Sunny & chilly again, not complaining.

Pauly, your girl has been thru a lot with that guy, what a shame. When she calms down see if you can't get her interested in doing something entirely new! How about training for a new career? Something that will keep her focused on what is good & healthy for her.

SK, glad to hear you are out & about in decent weather, good for you!
By the way, big dogs always cause big chaos, Ha Ha!!! I really do love them though

Cyn, so sorry about the continuing problem with your heating system. Our HVAC guy happens to live right next door to us, so nice, huh? I really hope you can get answers very soon.
In the meantime tons of hot tea & soup are in order. I have always loved lentil but was actually unable to eat them for 20+ years. They caused me a lot of distress, ugh. Now, I'm perfectly OK with them, go figure. Maybe someday you can make friends with lentils again

Hi there cowboy, good to see you
I believe Cyn said her German made heating unit was installed a few years ago.........

Today was vegan lasagna day - yum!

Morning all -

The pup and I are close to the fireplace this morning , and I am having my steamy tea, lol. Now it the lack of hot water that is getting on my nerves... but I can always ask my dear neighbor if I can pop over for a shower. Again, this is totally a "first-world" problem. Think of the people of Puerto Rico (and even those in NY state that are still without power). I feel lucky that we have a place to live aand electricity.

Hi Cowboy - yes, Lav is right, we have had this Rinnai for several years now. We do live in the middle of nowhere, and we have an excellent plumber who is always super-responsive. But he had never dealt with one of these before -- there is another kind that he has installed, but that was not the brand my husband wanted. Anyway, it appears that the fans that are failing... new ones have been ordered and hopefully will be installed this afternoon. Thanks for your info.

Lav, I can't believe how your chicks have grown! Yes, things can get better with our health a I am hoping that by going back on the SIBO protocol I will heal, and get back to a better normal state. So how is that election going in your state? I have been so out of it all recently.

SK, I love to hear about your spring, though eighty degrees sounds a little warm for March. I remember the first year I lived in the desert it was ninety degrees on March 1, and that was a real shocker! Is your eye doing better? And how is your QVC friend doing? Ha! You see how we all have each others' lives in our minds...

Oh Pauly, Sorry Michele is a wreck, though I am kind of glad if she can get away from that guy... he sounds like bad news all the way around... I remember him throwing her cell phone into the fire... ugh! Hang in there - and super-good for you for not taking it on! PS loved the conversation about dogs and humans... ha!

Star, hope you are enjoying the sun and warmth! Actually, the last two days have been very sunny here, so that has been a nice thing. I don't care so much about the gptemperature... but sun is a wonderful thing.

Well, must get to work... my festival boss is a real freak-out queen, so if I get things into her hands ahead of time she is calmer. We have a conference call this morning. Then I will rake some sections of the roof - it sounds like more snow/rain coming this evening, and with 20 inches already up there, that could be a heavy load... then maybe taxes?!

"Wonderful things are coming into my life" (and all of yours too!)
