      morn als
how's everybody? Det you get over the crud yet? thanks for he brew Mick. Pi, hope your pup dog is better. PQ that's a interesting occurrence with the phone lines! Lav, what you need is a good guard rooster (hint hint). Pauly, how's you doing? Spring is kinda springing today. I want it to be here and not. Tired of feeding cows and wood stove but don't want to see leaves pop out yet, surveying in the mountains so much easier to see.

Relieved to report that ailing pup seems back to normal today. Forecast is for gorgeous weather, so I hope to give them plenty of outdoor time.

PQ, do you think that your arguing neighbors know that you can hear them?

I've been thinking about how my life used to totally revolve around drinking, and recovering from drinking. What a drag! Now life unfolds as a series of events, mostly mundane, some funny, some sad, but it's real, and I'm involved. This is better, way better!

MAE ALL...the mystery of the 911 calls has been solved. Took them about 2 hours to find where squirrels had chewed off the casing covering the phone cables in an alley across the street from the centre. With the weather affecting the exposed cables they just started sending out random numbers, not actual phone numbers, and of course 911 wasn't hard to hit. Still need cable repair to fix it but the police were glad to hear what was causing the calls.

Mick...so what did you get up to in Leeds? Madison Square Gardens was alive and kicking again last night. Thankfully it was early on and not at 2am. Did figure out which neighbour it is though so will be speaking to the management company to start with. We've had freezing rain changing to snow all day today. It's cold and overcast so am planning on hibernating this Easter weekend.

Sam...yup you're in a catch 22 situation. I think I'd prefer to give up feeding the cows. Yes I'm glad the 911 mystery is solved.

Pauly...crock pot spaghetti sounds interesting and my coworker is making crock pot cabbage rolls for Easter so that intrigued me as well. I'll be recipe surfing this weekend.

Pi...I think the arguing neighbours just don't give a sh*t! They can't be stupid enough to think nobody hears them. Glad the pup seems to be back to normal, no need for the phone call. It is a relief that life is not all about drinking anymore.

Shout out to everyone else stopping in. Going to get a Slovakia chicken stir fry started. Have a restful evening all....:smile:PPQP

              Good evening Abbers,

The house is quiet now although a lot of dirt & cookie crumbs remain, ha ha!!!

Yes Mick, my son walked in here at 7:10 this morning & had the boys out of here by 7:20 - they didn't know what hit them
My DIL is trying her hand at teaching this semester & doesn't get home until 10:30 or 11 pm on the evenings she teaches. That's way too late to keep the boys up when they have school & she won't come over here to pick them up any way, duh. We took our granddaughter out to an Amish flower greenhouse to pick out some Easter flowers, then we went to lunch then drove her home. The old folks are tired now, haha!!

Sam, still trying to get rid of that rooster?? Ha ha! I'd rather get a big mean dog, no kidding! That reminds me, I need to go get the suet blocks off the bird feeder for the night unless Mr Fox has already gotten them. I am personally looking forward to spring Good to see you!

Pauly, is there any chance your daughter will stay off the substances?? This could be a whole new & healthy start for her.

Pie, glad your pup boarder is doing better.
I am with you & grateful that our lives don't revolve around substances any more - life is good

PQ, we used to have problems with squirrels chewing thru wires where we used to live, what a pain! Around here squirrels don't last too long, apparently the hawks like them for snacks, yuck. Sorry your weather has gotten nasty again. I think we may be in for more rain, had some overnight. Get lots of rest.

Wishing everyone a decent night! Det? Are you OK?

Don't know what happened but he is a lot better now..a massive difference. .it's unbelievable that he was so poorly last night. ..he seems to just have a dodgy stomach..but it doesn't stop him eating! Det, glad to hear from you! I hope you can find some good chicken soup to get you back on your feet soon!

Mick, sorry you & Jeeves had such a bad night. Ugh, that reminds me of what I was going thru last summer with my mountain dog. I hope you both feel perfect by tomorrow

Hello to pauly, Sam, PQ, Pie & everyone!

I had a kid-free day today which was good as I am still recovering, ha ha! I hit 4 stores today so I have what I need to get thru the weekend. Don't really have any holiday plans but I am ready just in case
Played with my Instant Pot this afternoon & found that it does make great hard boiled eggs in 5 minutes & delicious pulled pork for sandwiches in 1 hour - nice.
Weather turned cold & rainy after lunch & now they are talking about snow on Monday - for sh*t's sake!!!! It's SPRING.

                            Have a nice night everyone!

We know Columbus believed the world was round when others believed it was flat. And, of course, we know that he landed in the Americas in 1492. What we have not known, until recently, were his first words on returning to Spain. However, scholars have recently discovered documents that throw light on the subject. According to one, Columbus' first words on stepping ashore were,

"I'll bet I'm the first man who ever got 8,000 miles on a galleon!"

With deep concern, Dick noted that his friend Conrad was far drunker than he'd ever seen him before. He walked over to the bar and asked, "What's the trouble, buddy?"

"It's a woman." replied Conrad. "What else?"

"Tell me about it," coaxed Dick.

                              "It's your wife."

                              "My wife? What about her?"

"Well, buddy boy, I'm afraid she's cheating on us."

A Doctor was addressing a large audience in Tampa. “The material we put into our stomachs are enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago.
Red meat is awful. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water.

But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have, or will, eat it. Can anyone tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years, after eating it?

A 75-year-old man in the front row raised his hand, and said, “Wedding Cake.”

A little girl was leading her dog through the park when an old man stopped her, saying, "That's sure a pretty dress you're wearing."

The little girl smiled, "Thank you, Sir. My mama bought it for me.
                              This is my dog Porky."

The old man chuckled, "I'll bet a nickel I can guess why you called him that."

She shook her head, "I'll bet you can't."

He laughed, "You called him Porky because he's so fat."

She shook her head. "No Sir, we call him that because he screws pigs."

Passengers on a small plane are waiting for the flight to leave.

They're getting a little impatient, but the airport staff assures them the pilots will be there soon, and the flight can take off.

The entrance opens, two men dressed in Pilots' uniforms walk up the aisle.
Both are wearing dark glasses, one is using a guide dog, and the other is tapping his way along the aisle with a cane.

Nervous laughter spreads through the cabin, but the men enter the cockpit, the door closes, and the engines start up.

The passengers begin glancing nervously around, searching for some sign that this is just a little practical joke. None is forthcoming.

The plane moves faster and faster down the runway, and the people sitting in the window seats realize they're headed straight for the water at the edge of the airport territory.

As it begins to look as though the plane will plow into the water, panicked screams fill the cabin. At that moment, the plane lifts smoothly into the air.

The passengers relax and laugh a little sheepishly, and soon all retreat into their magazines, secure in the knowledge that the plane is in good hands.

In the cockpit, one blind pilot turns to the other and says, "You know, Bob, one of these days, they're gonna scream too late and we're all gonna die."

A student at an English university, by name of Donald MacDonald from the Isle of Skye, who was living in the hall of residence in his first year there. After he had been there for a month, his mother came to visit, no doubt carrying reinforcements of oatmeal.

"And how do you find the English students, Donald?"
she asked."Mother," he replied, "they're such terrible noisy people! The one on that side keeps banging his head against the wall, and won't stop. The one on the other side screams and screams and screams away into the night!"

"Oh, Donald! How ever do you manage to put up with these awful noisy English neighbours?" "Mother, I do nothing, I just ignore them! I just stay here quietly playing my bagpipes!"
