    Re: April Acceptance

    Good morning...

Lav, nice that your son came over, appalling re: the student at risk of a shooting. Really good to hear the police are on top of it. I am terrified when my grandsons go to school, what kind of crazy people/disturbed hurting kids are going to be a threat? I really have my hopes up re the Nov. elections, things are so bad with 45 and the republicans destroying our country. The stock market is nose diving, really bad for everyone with all our retirement funds losing money due to bad policy and chaos. I am really worried and realize it will get worse, 45 is unstable and a destroyer. We are getting so much rain that roads are flooding and more rain in the forecast, all the snow melted by noon yesterday. I am supposed to drive an hour to get my grandson today, we'll have to see depending on the weather. Darn.

Pauly, nice you took the day off, when I am alone I have some tv shows I tape/dvr to watch on my own, books to read, sometimes a few people to call, it depends. Oh, and naps can be nice too. I am trying to keep it simple. Sometimes I get into my head and think too much and it is not a good place to be. Not sure if this was happening to you too. Take care you have been doing well with the AF journey.

Cyn, wow, so sorry about the rosacea recurring, darn. From the outside looking in, you appear to be so busy, almost too busy and stressed; that wears down your immune system. I tend to do the same thing, so just observing, not trying to run your life. I am trying to find balance too. I have been extremely busy with exercise, meetings, stuff around the house, and have been able to take time from 3-5 most days to rest, read, or watch TV. I am going from 6 am on most days now. Hope you start improving.

Skendall, I was horrified at the dog abuse, what a POS dog owner. Hopefully he is not a psycho, and the police visit woke him up to his behavior. Sometimes that is all it takes, other times not. You did what you could. The neighbor kid sounds sweet, I think homeschooling can be detrimental if the parents are too protective and not educated. I have some horror stories of kids who just ran wild and never learned to read or anything. Hope your day was positive.

Wishing you all a lovely AF Tuesday.

      Re: April Acceptance

Funny you mentioned the home schooling Star, this kid is a year younger than Vivian and he might as well be 3 yrs old in comparison. Speaks in a whiny baby voice and when he gave me a picture of the flowers I gave to his mom, it is very primitive. I'm wondering if he has a learning disability.

I dumped the f/b stock and bought Intel = there is an Intel chip in every computer and I did well with it in the past. Checked cnbc this morning and Apple has decided not to use Intel any more. It has tanked. I also owned Alcoa which is in the midst of tanking due to the tax tariffs. I invested $80K in 2016 when Obama was in and made $17K that year. I do my research and now I'm down to 60K!

Cyn, you are on a bit of overload.:happy2:

I forgot to mention. Yesterday was my 1st sugar free day. This morning my joints seem to move easily. Not my back, of course, but I will continue today.

          Re: April Acceptance

          Good evening friends,

Greetings from the land of rain, chilly temps & TONS OF MUD, ugh! It's not snowing so I am actually grateful.
I see the threat of tornados out west & that makes me nervous. We are supposed to have a gusty thunderstorm tomorrow.

Cyn, I'm sorry I didn't see your mention of rosacea. That's a tough bugger to deal with but there are some new products on the market now. Have you tried the topicals?
Naturally I forgot the bird feeder/suet cakes again last night so Ms Fox has a full belly. I really don't think the fox is my spirit animal, Lol
I hope you had a good day!

Star, I'll have to send you the video clip of 45 visiting an elementary school on messenger. My daughter sent it to me - no one seemed too happy he was there....so to speak
The gun violence in this country is so out of control. Look at what happened today out in CA. A woman shooter is pretty rare, I wonder what her major malfunction was all about.
I only recently found out that there was some threat made at our local high school a while back. The matter was taken care of &it never mad the news. It's just not going to stop until we get sensible gun control laws. Did I mention another incident last week in a town next to where we used to live? An 18 yr old exchange student from Taiwan, arrived here in August & immediately put together a full arsenal - bought everything online

Pauly, what are yo up to today?

SK, it seems you are beginning to understand your neighbors a little better, geez.
My husband's sister home schooled her 4 kids, one has now graduated from college, another is in college & the two youngest seem to be doing well. I guess it depends on the curriculum you follow. Personally, I never would have attempted to school my kids, no way.
I'm trying not to worry about the stock market too much. The guy we have looking after that stuff knows I will come kick his A$$ if he messes up, ha ha!
Congrats on your sugar free day! I never had much of a sugar problem until I stopped drinking & then I had to work to get rid of that addiction too.

I hope everyone has a nice night!

            Night all!

Thanks for the support - the schedule I am working now is so much better than last month, and I am glad to be physically active. "All will be well and I am safe"...

SK -hurrah on your major accomplishment of avoiding sugar!!! So great to hear that it has helped with pain management -- you go girl!

Lav - so sorry for your stress over the school incident... thank heavens the police were on top of it. I hope you can breathe easier now.

Star, bad weather for you! I would rather have a snowstorm than floods any day -- they are so scary. So glad that you are taking good care of yourself!

Pauly, come out come out, miss you girl!! Hope all is well...

Thx all for the support re: rosacea. Lav, it is a secondary result of the SIBO that I seem to have, even though the test said no. So I have gone back on the natural antibiotics, and it seems to be working this time, cross fingers. The hardest is figuring what to make and eat on this protocol... but I found a great SIBO site that has recipes that don't use the things I can't have, like eggs. So I feel a little more hopeful tonight...

Wishing all well and a happy Hump day tomorrow--- "I draw good things into my life".

              Re: April Acceptance

Am I the first back here today? Wow! I hope everyone is well. I have worked with my move client today and now this evening will do some writing work. I am finally glad to sit down! I am out of shape for all this running up and down stairs...

Last night I found a wonderful site for SIBO related info and recipes. What a journey this girl has been on... it was heart-breaking to read her story, but so impressive and uplifting to hear how dedicated she has been to getting her life back. Her recipes are super-super clean for me -- we'll see how it all work. I just tried a recipe for leek (green part only), bok choy, a little sliced chicken, broth and 1/2 cup precooked lentils. So yummy in a spring-like way for a fresh soup, and it came together in about 15 minutes! My face feels kind of hot now, so we shall see if it all agreed with me, it it was yummy.

Not too much more to talk about -- have been waking up at around 4 AM the last few days... managed to go back for a bit this morning, but it's kind of annoying! Hopefully all of you are sleeping well. Gale force winds out there this evening, but I saw my first robin, and the light came out of the clouds, so things seem spring-like after a long rain today.

"I am kind and attract kindness" Happy evening all!

                Good evening Cyn & everyone!

Cyn, I'm glad yo found some recipes to try - sure hope they work out for you.
It's frustrating for me to find recipes that meet my needs (bone health & low sodium for B/P & dairy free) let alone something that other people are willing to eat too.
I never figured we would end up with older age onset eating disorders - LOL
It's windy here too, rain off & on but no big storms. My daughter texted me a few hours ago & said her whole borough is without power, ugh.

I went for my B/P check & passed that, got lab slips for bloodwork (not due until May). I talked to my NP about the hot flash remedy I found & she wants to recommend it to her other patients

Star, I hope you are OK with all these storms moving across the country.

Pauly, hope you are OK too!

SK, what's happening in your world today?

                Have a decent night everyone!

                  Re: April Acceptance

                  Good morning...

Missed my window yesterday to post, my grandson spent the night and there was no good time. The visit went well, my daughter came over with the younger guy and it was busy busy busy. After they left we just kind of vegged out on the couch, watching TV and eating a light dinner at home. That was OK with me.

Cyn, my daughter has your skin condition and has to be so careful with what she eats, until she doesn't and turns so red. She does best on veggies, chicken and some fruit. Dairy is out and so is alcohol, she has instant reactions to both those. After an episode with flaming up she always feels exhausted, I can tell. You seem to have extensive knowledge on what to do, I really hope you can rest a bit every day and wondered if you had time to meditate and your yoga routine. I feel so much better when I can do all those things, just for a bit. Grateful I was able to sleep last night, through the night.

Lav, the weather here has been winterlike, after the inches of rain and flooding around the area, it froze outside, then snow flurries all day, on and off. This is a really long winter. Yikes. Today I have 60 AF days and I am so relieved I am strong and have support in my commitment in staying this way. I feel so much better physically, emotionally, spiritually. This is an ongoing journey with no final destination, I have lots of work to do on myself and in my world. One day at a time the only way I know how to do anything.

                  Pauly, hope you are well.

Skendall, may spring be coming to your area.

                  Have a good one.

                    Re: April Acceptance

Morning - just a quick checkin to see how everybody is!

SK, hope you are doing OK -- would love to hear some Spring stories, and really hoping you are feeling OK...

Pauly, how's life? Would love to hear how you are...

Lav, I love it - an NP that actually listens to patients and likes their ideas!! Woo how! I am sorry that you have to deal with the whole 'what to eat' issue - I had to laugh at 'older age eating disorders'! Ha. Hope your daughter get power back soon --

Star - CONGRATS on 60 days -- so happy in your commitment to keep going, and glad you have a tribe to support you there. Re: rosacea -- please have your daughter try find a naturopath or functional medicine person, or anyone that understands gut health. This is what I've learned - rosacea is so related to gut issues. She should be tested (stool, sorry tmi ) for H-Pylori, (mine was cured by herbal anti-microbial, no antibiotics) and then for other stuff. Learning that I may have sibo really changed the equation for me. After years of 'eating healthy' I now see that whichever healthy foods you pick are crucial - especially if there is a leaky gut in the equation. If I had know this stuff years ago, I would be in better shape now. The culprit with my flare up last night? Onion powder in the organic chicken broth I ate (onions, garlic are out for now). So, just a thought for your daughter - she obviously has a handle on it, but I can send some websites to you to share with her if you wish.

OK, off my soap box! Wishing all a wonderful day ---

                        Re: April Acceptance

                        Hello everyone.

Warm and windy here with a big, fat healthy squirrel robbing my bird feeder. He has a beautiful bushy tail, the thief!

Meant to post last night, but logged on and fell asleep. I think this is day 3 of NS and I have the detox headache to prove it! I am still having the sweetened creamer, but only in 1 cup of coffee. Is honey considered sugar, anyone?

My to do list is procrastination. I feel quite fatigued is that the NS too? Will have to look it up.

I was in the apt. office today and they told me they loved me. How nice.

Went to Whole Foods yesterday and came out $115.00 lighter. They sell Icelandic flounder. I love flounder but find it hard to be available. I then went to W-M for Peggy's duck jerky and was surprised at how many areas I don't purchase from. No more Magna bars or Musketeers and I've been in the habit lately of buying parfaits, too! I sometimes will have a coke in the p.m. (sugar chasing sugar) but it disagrees with my gut big time.

I met the neighbor who returned the easter egg and she still isn't talking, oh well.

Cyn, I'm glad you are still doing yoga/meditation and when it's all too much disappear into a bubble bath. The leek/lentil soup contains all my favorites. I think we are past soup weather, but I am a soup person.

Lav, so glad the NP is a good one. I prefer my NP to the GP. I have low bp and get dizzy when standing up sometimes.

Star, glad you had the grandsons.

The walkways are being pressure washed, so it's a bit noisy.

                        Pauly, everything okay with you,

Afternoon check in for me today

Sunny but still a bit windy & quite chilly. Oh, we will be expecting more snow on Saturday even though we do not need any

Star, CONGRATS on your 60 AF days :welldone:
I know the feeling of empowerment you feel at that point, it's awesome. Keep believing in yourself, have no doubts that you can do this!!!!
Kids with eczema is one thing but I honestly have never seen so many adults deal with the issue. Something in our food system is amiss - I almost sure of that. We are on our own pretty much to figure this stuff out!

Pauly, god to see you - everything OK?

Cyn, my NP listens to me because it's really a nurse to nurse conversation. She knows that I wouldn't bother recommending something if it wouldn't be useful to others.
I know that I am a patient when I go to see these NPs but I like that they will listen to me & not look at me like I have 5 heads or something.
Are you on target for this Saturday storm too? I am sick of this way too long winter, geez. I am sorry about your incident with the chicken broth. Every darn thing I cook has onions & garlic involved, one way or the other. Have you ever talked to an allergist? Is that a possibility for you? The world of immunology has come a long way.

SK, hello to you, hope you are well.

We are running out for a bite to eat so I thought I would post earlier than usual. We are so close to the Chesapeake bay I can get fresh crabcakes that actually seem to agree with me. One of the things I am nost grateful for these days.

                          Have a nice night everyone!
