      Re: w/c 8th

      Good evening folks!

Sunshine, no snow today but too damn cold to do much outside. I'm anxious for Friday & Saturday's warmth even though it's only two days
My son finally got around to bringing the boys over after school today, The birthday boy was happy & that's all I really wanted.

      Mick, ballistic chickens? HA HA!
Isn't it kind of weird having ducks drop in for a visit? Then again it's weird seeing seagulls in the parking lot of Walmart here, LOL
Your bunnies look happy & healthy!

PQ, glad you are able to manage the money outflow......it's annoying, to say the least!
Glad you had an actual snow free night, geez.

Pauly, please keep trying to get Det's attention. I think about him all the time & hope he is OK.

      Hi there Pie!

Hello to the rets of the Abbers & wishing everyone a nice night.

The boy is holding a quarter. Suddenly, the boy starts choking, going blue in the face. The father realizes the boy has swallowed the quarter and starts panicking, shouting for help.

A well dressed, attractive and serious looking woman, in a blue business suit is sitting at a coffee bar reading a newspaper and sipping a cup of coffee. At the sound of the commotion, she looks up, puts her coffee cup down, neatly folds the newspaper and places it on the counter, gets up from her seat and makes her way, unhurried, across the book store.

Reaching the boy, the woman carefully drops his pants, takes hold of the boy's testicles and starts to squeeze and twist, gently at first and then ever so firmly. After a few seconds the boy convulses violently and coughs up the quarter, which the woman deftly catches in her free hand.

Releasing the boy's testicles, the woman pockets the coin and walks back to her seat in the coffee bar without saying a word.

As soon as he is sure that his son has suffered no ill effects, the father rushes over to the woman and starts thanking her saying, "I've never seen anybody do anything like that before, it was fantastic. Are you a doctor?"

"No," the woman replied. "Divorce attorney."

Two poor kids were invited by a rich kid to a swimming party at his pool.

When they were changing into their swim trunks, one turned to the other and said, "Did you notice the small dicks on the rich kids"?

The other answered,"Yeah. It's probably because they have real toys to play with"!

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House in Washington, D.C. One is from New Jersey, another from Tennessee and the third, Florida. They all go with a White House official to examine the fence.

The Florida contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew, and $100 profit for me."

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The New Jersey contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700.00."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"

The New Jersey contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence."

          "Done!" replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how it all works !!!!

A young couple wanted to join the synagogue, the Rabbi told them, "We have a special requirement for new member couples. You must abstain from sex for one whole month".

The couple agreed, but after two-and-a-half weeks returned to the synagogue. When the Rabbi ushered them into his office, the wife was crying and the husband was obviously very depressed. "You are back so soon... Is there a problem"?, the Rabbi inquired.

"We are terribly ashamed to admit that we did not manage to abstain from sex for the required month". the young man replied sadly.

The Rabbi asked him what happened.

"Well, the first week was difficult... However, we managed to abstain through sheer willpower. The second week was terrible, but with the use of prayer, we managed to abstain. However, the third week was unbearable. We tried cold showers, prayer, reading from the Bible...anything to keep our minds off carnal thoughts. One afternoon my wife reached for a can of paint and dropped it. When she bent over to pick it up, I was overcome with lust and I just had my way with her right then and there. It was lustful, loud, passionate sex. It lasted for over an hour and when we were done we were both drenched in sweat", admitted the man, shamefacedly.

The Rabbi lowered his head and said sternly, "You understand this means you will not be welcome in our synagogue".

"We know", said the young man, hanging his head. "We're not welcome at Home Depot either".

A Montana rancher got in his pickup and drove to a neighboring ranch and knocked at the door. A young boy, about 9, opened the door.

"Yer Dad home?' the rancher asked.

'No sir, he ain't,' the boy replied. 'He went into town."

"Well," said the rancher, 'is yer Mom here?'

"No, sir, she ain't here neither. She went into town with Dad."

"How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?"

"He went with Mom and Dad."

The rancher stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to the other and mumbling to himself.

"Is there anything I can do fer ya?" the boy asked politely. "I knows where all the tools are, if you want to borry one. Or maybe I could take a message fer Dad."

"Well," said the rancher uncomfortably, "I really wanted to talk to yer Dad. It's about your brother Howard getting my daughter, Pearly Mae, pregnant."

The boy considered for a momen t "You would have to talk to Pa about that," he finally conceded. "If it helps you any, I know that Pa charges $50 for the bull and $25 for the boar, but, I really don't know how much he gets fer Howard."

Suzi visited a psychic of some local repute.

In a dark and gloomy room, gazing at the tarot cards laid out before her, the tarot reader delivered the bad news:

"There's no easy way to say this, so I'll just be blunt. Prepare yourself to be a widow. Your husband will die a violent and horrible death this year".

Visibly shaken, Suzi stared at the woman's lined face, then at the single flickering candle, then down at her hands. She took a few deep breaths to compose herself.

          She simply had to know.

Suzi met the tarot reader's gaze, steadied her voice, and asked: "Will I get away with it"?

            Re: w/c 8th

Hi Mick...think I had headed into work shortly after you posted this morning. Major snag in the online registration program and trying to sort it out for the Childcare Director. We've both decided that the idiot that sits in the GM chair doesn't have a clue. So I've decided I'm just going to fix it and to hell with him. It was a very long day, some progress and am now ready to compile all my findings to send to support for changes. Coordinator's last day tomorrow as she's on holidays for 2 weeks. :yay: It'll be like a 2 week holiday for me too. The only reason I mentioned the finances is because in the past I would just pick up my poison on the way home (could always find the money for that), ignore everything and then go begging to family for help. So although I've been depressed, at times anxious and having thoughts of F*k it I persevered and feel pretty proud of myself.

Det...I thought a lot about you while struggling and can't imagine what you've been going through. I hope you're doing ok and we sure miss you.

Lav...I'm glad you got the visit in, that whole situation just sucks! I'm glad the birthday boy was happy and agree that's really what it's all about.

Pauly...I'm glad you're keeping on at Det, I think he may be feeling pretty lonely.

Well it's a tuna casserole tonight and then bed. Shouldn't have any problems getting to sleep tonight. LOL Hope we all have a peaceful night....:smile:PPQP

              Good evening Abbers,

No snow today, yay! Could we possibly be over winter now?? Probably not, ha ha!!!

Mick, glad to hear your train work is moving right along, nice! It's still too cold & windy to spend much time doing anything outside right now. But that didn't stop us from buying three new azalea bushes today & a new blueberry to replace one that didn't make it from the original batch. YB plans to use his new giant tractor to pull out the overgrown boxwoods out front (very ugly) so we can start over with some new plants

Pauly, glad to hear you got Det's attention.

PQ, isn't it amazing how someone else going on vacation can be like a vacation for you?? LOL
I hope you get things at work settled down soon. I have to post a dairy free recipe I made tonight - good!!!
Creamy Kale and Gnocchi Soup Recipe - Go Dairy Free
The funny thing is the store we shopped in today didn't have gnocchi so I purchased some small frozen potato cheese perogies & they worked great in the soup.

Hello to everyone else & wishing a nice night for all.

hiya folks how are yo u all today then?weather over here its really blowing a hooley and its that fine misty rain...but does that affect the rabbits? nope they are out playing!!and wont go in..Ive just done a couple of hanging baskets but I cant put them out because of the wind ...oh well lets have a brew.

hiya Lav how goes it today? hope all is well ..so the tractor is going to get put to good use .you sound similar to me ..irrespective of the weather you still get plants ,I have 2 blueberry bushes that are starting to bud ,also the camelia bush is starting to open up and flower.also so are the roses and raspberry canes ..so lets drink a brew to that ..

hiya ppqp..how are you then? so you have got a 2 week holiday at work? the co -ord is away and the gm is useless ..did you know that gm stands for gormless muppet! and there are a few of them around..well done to you for dealing with your issues as opposed to trying to hide it in a bottle.you found that strength along the way somewhere and kept it together thru all the shit..I have nothing but respect for someone who does that..

hiya pauly pie ,sam and everyone else have a great day

Mick...Gormless Muppet...:harhar:...thank's for that, I'll be keeping that thought in my head today! Managed to turn the work brain off last night. Dinner, book, bed and a good sleep. Will need it as it's going to be a long day with the garden meeting tonight.

Lav...threats of snow flurries here today. Above freezing all week, then blip for the meeting, then above freezing tomorrow and onward. So tired of this.

Pauly...thanks for keeping an eye on Det. Lot of gardeners grow kale at the garden and I just smile and say ya looks great.

Out of coffee this morning! So tea it is, just not the same. Have a good one all....:smile:PPQP

It was a very dangerous day today. Morning saw everything covered in sheer ice with freezing rain falling. Stepped back on a snowbank to scrape the car and slid right off. You couldn't tell it was ice on the sidewalks it just looked wet. Had to barricade one entrance to the centre cause just a slight incline was deadly. Then the freezing rain turned to snow and continued all day. It did warm up a tad so the ice cover did melt. Just ask me if I want to go to a garden meeting tonight!
