    Re: May Movers & Shakers

    Morning all -

No fractures! And the PA that I saw said that it takes 2 weeks for a bad sprain like that to feel better... and sure enough, today - 13 days out, and I am walking with it unwrapped thu morning. (Though I will wrap it for the rest of the day). She did say that if it doesn't continue to feel better, that I should see an orthopedist...but based on today I am encouraged. And I even spent a quick hour on the land yesterday, pulling the garlic mustard that I could easily get to... sheesh it is terrible this year.

Pauly, what a clever husband you have! That's great that your car is running again, whew.

Star, sorry about your son's car... goodness he is lucky to have you help him in so many ways. I am sending him good vibes today for the interviews.

SK, thank you for your concern about my foot - after hearing your story, I get it! You have been through a lot. Hope you are resting when you can, and feeling better.

Lav, that was a lot of wrapping! So adorable - and glad that you got time with daughter and granddaughter!

It is so interesting, all this talk bout the CBD oil. I just read an interesting article from a source I trust: NuLeaf Naturals CBD Oil Review - My Honest Thoughts and Experience With This Brand — Amanda Linette Meder. (Hope this link works)... she indicates that it is useful for a whole lot of things-improved sleep as well as pain management. Lav, is it illegal to get it in the mail? I got some for my girl dog last year, as it had cncer-fighting properties as well as for anti-anxiety... I got it in the mail. Anyway, something definitely to think about.

Well, I must drive into the city today for the Big Packup of HBs apartment. Also dropping off some things for a past move client, trying to fit in a quick visit with a cousin, and tomorrow morning seeing a potential new client, uuugh. I feel a little overwhelmed! I would normally never take on a client now, but this was at the request of the Board Chair of HB's festival, and so I have to make something happen. I will advise, but tell them that I can't get deeply involved until the fall. At least I am making an effort.

I need both if these affirmations today - maybe we all do ---
"I am safe and all is well" and "I have amazing strength within me"

Morning friends,Lav,the succulents are beautiful! What a different but great idea Star, sounds like a busy day planned, glad the CBD oil is working,I think the kind bought at the actual dispensary are more effective than the smoke shop kind or some of the mail order ones,Kells had her medical marijuana card for a couple of years and she said the potency is different than the kind she used to get elsewhere,SK,hope all is well Cyn,be safe driving into the city, when I first read your post i thought it said"no pictures" was happy when I reread "no fractures" yay! Love the mantras"i am safe and all is well" "I have amazing strength within me"
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

        Re: May Movers & Shakers

        Good evening folks,

Since I had no plant wrapping duties today, ha ha we took a ride to a spot north of Lancaster city for a giant plant sale. It's held yearly on the grounds of an old 1000 acre farm that is now a historical site. Really cool old buildings to wander thru & SO many plants for sale. YB was looking for some aquatic plants & found them. We bought some more figs because some we had did not make it thru the winter. Lots of neat stuff to see

Star, I always have jumper cables in my car & always made sure the kids had them in their cars too. I hope the plan with your son worked out OK!
Last year I received catalogs in the mail (that I didn't request) for CBD oils. I have no idea what the legalities are here in PA. I know a lot of our smarted politicians are trying to pass news laws regarding the use of medicinal grade marijuana. The governor signed a bill into law a year ago but I don't think anything has actually been implemented yet.
Now I'm wondering who is willing or able to write a Rx for you when you request it, hmm.
Glad you are getting some relief. I'd like to see YB try some for his severely arthritic wrist.

Cyn, congrats on the good news about your foot, no fracture is a good thing. Take it as easy as possible until you are completely healed.
Seems that your services are always in high demand - nice! Don't feel bad about making them wait a bit, you are busy!
The plants were a good idea & I hope to see all the recipients smile tomorrow at the GS luncheon. I'll be out of here by 10 am to go lend a hand setting things up, the lunch is 13 pm.

Hi Pauly, hope your day was good!

        SK, how are you doing?

I hope to get enough sleep tonight to feel decent tomorrow. I'm still having troubles & can figure it out, oh well.
        Have a nice night everyone!

          Hello everyone - :checkin:

I am taking a CBD Oil tincture. And, it has helped my fibromyalgia pain. The pain isn't gone but it definitely isn't the same intensity that it had been at for months. I buy it online and it says that it is legal in all 50 states. Less than .03% THC I think so there are the health benefits without the 'high'. I do think that it's worth checking into. I'm still experimenting with dosage but I am feeling optimistic.

            Good morning...

Lav, have fun at the GS luncheon, so wonderful for you to have all three generations at an event. Enjoy. I hurt really bad yesterday, but I think it was because I did not drink enough water, then I had two sodas. Not a very good move. I have been eating animal products again too, I just was burnt out on thinking up things to make. We cooked out last night and I had Turkey Brats and they were delicious. Today picking up the grandson and an over night, have not heard from my daughter so she must be having fun. I hope so.

Cyn, so good to hear from you. Really glad to hear no breaks in your ankle, just peace of mind knowing you are healing. Thanks for the positive vibes for my son, the interview went well, he was well prepared and looked great, and then the new battery was not a big deal, so we took care of that too. It took most of my afternoon up, but that was OK. Have a good weekend and take care.

Pauly, hope your day off was fun and useful. I was reading the CBD literature and the products are not equal, so that is kind of interesting. I bought the strongest dose, I mean, why not. I want it to work. Do you ever ache after drinking soda pop? Darn, I feel the only thing I can drink is water or tea. Coffee of course in the am, but not alot.

Nora, yes the CBD is helping, we'll see if it is worth the expense.

            Skendall, have a good weekend.

            Have a great AF Saturday.

Morning friends,Cyn,yep Lav got it right saying that you seem like your services are always highly in demand, that's awesomeLav,is it still hot flashes keeping you up? I went back to plain old Relizen,im not about to mess with the other ingredients in the Serenol,Star, for some odd reason I lost my taste for diet coke,so weird cuz back in the day I'd have at least 3-20 oz bottles everyday, sure I still buy one on my day off but after a few sips i don't want anymore and toss it,im much more into coffee!!! I love my coffee are you gonna go back to plant eating only? I think any way of eating gets boring after a bit, same old food, trying to get creative for something different,I feel that way and I don't have a specific way of eating, wishing us all a fantastic, free Saturday!

                Re: May Movers & Shakers

                Good evening friends,

The GS luncheon was a success! Everyone was happy & well fed. They loved the plants 7all the embroidered teacups I did months ago. Two people won reading pillows as door prizes, ha ha, great day!
The skies have opened up just now, big storm brewing & a Tornado watch as well, geez. Glad I got home before all that started.

Star, glad everything worked out for you & your son.
Believe it or not I gave up soda cold turkey 17 1/2 years ago after my head injury. I had trouble swallowing for a while & had no sense of smell or taste so I found I just couldn't get the stuff down anymore. I never felt the need to try it again, funny. Star, when I quit dairy I lost practically all of my aches & pains. My knees, shoulders & wrists & hands were all hurting but everything improved when I got the dairy out of my life. I quit the dairy because of GI symptoms so I was surprised when the arthritis improved too.
Do what you have to do to be comfortable.

Pauly, since I am a coffee & tea pro now I choose decaf for most of the time. Better for me all around. That first cup in the morning needs to be half caf but the rest of the day no.
I'm loving Romeo's pics on FB

Cyn, I hope you are not traveling in this beastly weather. Have a nice weekend!

SK, what are you up to, anything good?

Have a nice night everyone & keep your fingers crossed for us in this nasty weather.

                  Re: May Movers & Shakers

                  Good morning...

Up early but I slept for 7 straight hours so feeling pretty good so far. Picked up my grandson and we were busy all day: parks, ice cream, hot tub, petting next door neighbor's dog, bubbles blowing, and a fire outside. My my he will probably sleep till 9 with all that activity! I have to say my SIL is taking excellent care of the boys, the house was clean, he lays down the law about eating, and keeps to a schedule so it was all good. He is coming over later today to pick up his son and hang out for a while, so it will be a nice mother's day.

Lav, wonderful time with the GS and you certainly did your part and more. That has to feel good. I am less achy today with arthritis, I think the heavy gardening was just too much for me. Also, I did stay away from dairy yesterday, and that may be a factor. Our weather was cloudy and warm, perfect for being outside. We need rain, so hope to get some this week. Hope the storms in your area did not cause damage.

Pauly, I am enjoying a cup of coffee right now! I love starbucks brand and buy it on sale when I can. Just in the morning though, and I need to cut out soda. Hey, as a matter of fact, I had no soda yesterday and no pain today. OK, that is a connection I need to pay attention too. I too love the pics of Romeo, he is adorable. How is Louis doing with having a baby brother? We are both so blessed.

Hello to Cyn and Skendall. Happy Mother's Day to all mothers.

Sounds like all is going pretty well for everyone-

Lav, sounds like you made the whole event really special for your daughter, congrats!

Pauly, interesting hear that you are not doing Diet Coke anymore... that is great -- I don't think there is anything beneficial about those drinks!

Star, glad to hear that your hands are feeling better... keep searching for the things that trigger something -- it's a new way to live, but worth it. Glad to hear about your son.

SK, are you doing alright? Sending you lots of light - And by the way, Peggy asked me to thank you for being a fabulous fur-Mom, and for all the good care you give her! (PS, I was in a Home Depot the other day, and someone went in with their dog - I thought of you two!)

Nora - thanks for the CBD info!

Well I made it through the NYC experience, whew. Thanks for thinking of me Lav, but the drive home wasn't too rainy, I lucked out.

                    "I am fulfilled and grateful"

Wishing all a happy day ---

Good evening friends, Happy Mother's & Carers Day to all

I noticed NoSugar made a comment in the Nest that we are all carers of someone/something be it human, fur-baby or feather-baby. She is absolutely right about that!

Star, sounds like you had a great grandson day, very nice!
Changing our diets & lifestyles may seem problematic at first but then we realize how much better we feel now. Makes perfect sense to keep our attention in the now & not worry about what we used to eat or drink. I have accepted this concept, YB not so much but he's getting there.
The storm knocked out the satellite TV for a while but it came back soon enough & the power stayed on last night which is a big Plus! I felt better when they cancelled the tornado warning, geez.

Cyn, we had a ton of rain last night, did it miss you completely? It's drizzled off & on all day too so no need to be out watering anything.
Glad you came thru your NYC experience OK. That place makes me nervous, LOL I remember taking our GS troop there to see the Rockettes show & saved one of the girls about to step off a curb as a car came speeding by - oh my, my heart was in my throat

Pauly, I hope you had a good day & got some treats.

SK, thinking of you today & hope you are doing well.

I guess you guys saw my very large chick gift from YB, ha ha!!! The things you can buy in the feed stores around here!!!!
                        Have a nice night everyone.

Still trying to wake up, had a great Mother's Day, have to get back into my normal routine.

Lav, great you had a good Mother's Day, you deserve it.

Cyn, nice to be home again I am sure.

Pauly, hope your Mother's Day was good.

                            Morning all --

Ha! I wrote that about 5 minutes ago.... and have been sitting here musing since then! I think my brain is a little tired...

Pauly, I love Peet's! I learned bout it when I was in Berkeley, CA years ago performing. I was sad to go back to the Midwest where it I couldn't get it, but now I can get it here in the East. Love Major Dickinson's Blend... (though I am a maybe 1 cup a day person, but still...)

Lav, it is so true that a change in diet and lifestyle can make major changes... I had forgotten completely to pay attention to how I was feeling... I used to compare pain notes with my dear neighbor, since we were both our working our land a lot... she asked me the other day how I was feeling with all that I have been doing... and when I stopped to think, I realized that I am relatively pain free, and have no allergy symptoms this year - none! I am surprised that I didn't notice that on my own - but glad she woke me up to the fact. OK, now you have me curious enough to go check out your gift on FB!

Star, sounds like you have been having a very busy time.. I do hope you can get back to your routine.. I think that is so healing. Time for self-care!

SK, where oh where are you? Are you OK?! It will be great to hear how you are doing... sending you lots of light today.

Well, yesterday was a big day: worked at a client's while she was out of town, spent 2 hours ripping out garlic mustard before it flowers (made a tiny dent), did 3 loads of laundry (made a dent), worked on my writing for the festival, then fell into bed. We are leaving on short trip to the West Coast on Friday of this week, returning next Tuesday morning after a red-eye flight. So... I must get some basic things done in the next couple of days and get ready for the dog sitter again! I would complain, but my poor husaband left for Europe on an overnight flight Saturday, spent all day yesterday in meetings, same today, and will fly home overnight on Monday. So... I'm glad that I didn't have to do that trip!!

                            May we be well...

                                Hello everyone.

Lots of nice Mother's Day celebrations.

Star, when I was on the NS diet, my arthritis definitely improved. I fell off last week but haven't had a soda, but lots of chocolate lol. I need to get back on. I haven't tried letting go of dairy products. My fav lunch is a cheese and fruit plate and I'm not sure what a good protein replacement would be.

Cyn, it would be hard for me to have your job, although you sound as if you are really adept. Anything scheduled for the future makes me fret. Putting a dent in household chores is very satisfying.

Pauly, glad you're well-fed:welldone: Is Romeo still a Sumo wrestler?

Lav, you orchestrated a lovely day and I need to check pic on f/b. How great your pillows were a door prize.

No word from DD yesterday. Life goes on.

high 80's low 90's for several days now, but very humid. Possible t/storm tonight.

Thanks, Nora for dropping in. I am going to check out CBD oil. Glad you are getting some relief.

Everyone have a glorious day. and be grateful for your sobriety.
