Cooler & damp again today, ho hum. I WILL be happy when this !@#$%^ summer is over, ha ha!

Mick, glad you got your phone fixed so quickly. Do you have a warranty on it or anything? Can't go without a cell phone once you get rid of the land line.
YB's phone # is in the hands of the members of one large Amish family. He sometimes gets calls 2 or 3 X per day when they need help going somewhere where a horse & buggy won't do. Yesterday's 35 mile trip to the children's hospital in a neighboring state was definitely one of those times. They pay him so it's not all charity work or anything, lol
Gas is not cheap especially when filling the tank on his big truck.

Det, I think we have be having an OK summer here on the east coast - hot & muggy & buggy, yuck.

SK, I'm so happy to hear you decided to go with the rescue kitty. They are the best pets, you'll see! I imagine Viv will fall in love with Misty too.

Lav...you're welcome. Last day for high temps and then dropping almost 20 degrees for the rest of the week/weekend with rain. Perfect for ending my holidays.

Mick...yup back home again, there really is truth in the saying it's nice to get away but there's no place like home. BC smoke followed me to Sask so wasn't able to get out on the boat and outdoor time was limited. So what's better, nesting or digging? Got a feeling Jeeves is just going to keep you guessing. Haven't heard of a sim only contract, will be checking that out. My provider has announced an increase so I think it's time to shop around. Good luck with getting through the day without damaging anyone/thing.

Pauly...not much going on around here either now. That nasty little word "should" is starting to creep into my thoughts but have so far held it at bay. Figure I still have 5 days before I actually have to be an adult again.

May have to go over and check out my garden, see how it's doing in all this heat. Best thing about a community garden is that there's always someone around keeping an eye on things.

Just checked DD's facebook page and she has unfriended me, sheesh.I would like to use the word that r hymes with witch.

I got all my tests back my memory is good, my balance isn't but I'm Getting excellent. Did my will and medical intent today and guess who only gets 15%? I set up a trust for Vivian with the majority, even left some for my very loyal cleaning lady.

Good evening friends,

Well, my brand new extra firm mattress was delivered today. If this doesn't help relieve my chronic low back & hip pain nothing will. I picked out the most expensive thing in the store, haha!! Next step is to just sleep on the floor I guess.
Rained overnight but not today. The temp is definitely cooler, yay. Next Monday it goes back up to 92, the same day the kids head back to school, oh well.

Mick, we buy gas by the gallon as you probably know. Prices change from town to town, state to state. I go to Maryland to buy gas because it's the closest station to my house. Last week I paid $2.75/gal while the stations in PA were charging $3.25/gal. It's a big difference when you're driving a truck like YB has with a 32 gal. tank!!

PQ, I think I am fully at the point of not giving a hot damn about what I should/shouldn't do & all that ha ha!!!

SK, sorry your daughter 'unfriended' you, that's ridiculous. If it makes you feel any better quite a few of my relatives have 'unfriended' me because I don't agree with their political beliefs. Instead of having productive conversations to try to understand one another they just simply cut me off. FINE WITH ME!
So how is Misty doing? I went to my son's house today to feed his cat while they are away on vacation. 'Dexter' the cat is always happy to see me

SK...good for you on eliminating those words from your vocabulary. I could learn from you. You're not the first to be de-friended by family (I speak from experience) and probably won't be the last. Good job on the tests, your balance will get there. You have reminded me to get my act together and get my will written. Not that I have a lot of assets but will save the boys hassles in the long run. From what I know I like the way you distributed your assets.

Lav...think I'm almost at the WGAS (who gives a sh*t) stage. LOL Totally agree we create our own stress, especially when drinking!! So how did the mattress work last night?

Let's get a zero injury report from you tomorrow. Yup, been keeping up with the new rabbit condo. The pics are great. Garden looking a little fried but I did manage to harvest quite a bit before holidays. Going to be an early plot clean so might plant some winter garlic.

Pauly...didn't know getting just the bottom teeth cleaned was even an option. LOL I actually have freezing when I go in for cleaning, I'm such a whimp!

Not sure what I'll be getting up to today. Air quality at an all time high and the city is covered in smoke again so will probably be spending most of my time indoors. Weekend reports look better so will do my outdoor stuff then. Have a Terrific Thursday all....:smile:PPQP

Hi all. DD is just jealous of my relationship with Vivian, feels threatened.

Speaking ofphones. we can build up a lot of bacteria. so cleaning with alsohol not a bad idea.

Lav and Mick I've go rid of 3 mattresses since my back issue including the foam density. My back was so much better in hosp- maybe hospital bed. I googled mattresses for herniated discs and stenosis and I'm back to an inner spring. More support.

Misty is a rascal. She likes to bite my toes in bed and bites when I try to cuddle her and is definitely vocal for breakfast.

PPQ, sorry forthe air quality. My sister in Toronto had a terrible time this year and now she has adifferent inhaler and is great.

Gas prices are usually cheaper in TX and we are paying about $2.54, less if you become a member of gas facility.

Got the living will, Vivian's trust and medical directive done. Andrea is SOL regarding putting me in a nursing home. In TX it can be only done ifyou are described as incompetent and by a letter by dr. I told the lawyer about her intent and he was astonished telling me I was decades from that and that I was a vital, intelligent person.

Lav, there are 3 mattresses highly recommended for back pain - tuft and needle, Eco something and another one. You need one with latex.

my arm/wrist is klling me from signing stuff.

I did sleep MUCH better on my new mattress. It has heavy duty coils & doesn't give much so it's perfect for me.
Now if I can just get my other sleep issues resolved (hot flashes), ugh. I'll be much better off when it's gets cold outside, ha ha!

Guess what I found sitting in a nest box along with a chicken this morning??? Does anyone need an extra snake or two????

Pauly, some dental hygienists are not a gentle as others. Sore gums after cleaning means then did an awful lot of scraping. Swish some warm salt water & spit a few times a day, it will help.

PQ, I swear each year I get older I care a little less than the previous year. The only person I am concerned about pleasing anymore is me! I like making people happy but if they're not happy it's their problem, not mine. I have plenty of time & energy for the grandkids, they make me happy

The mattress I bought is Isabella - new to me but extremely supportive. I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

Lav with spiffy new mattress, yay! boy I didn't realize how important a decent mattress was until I just got a really nice memory foam
version when I got back just recently. I don't toss/turn/groan/spaz out anymore. I just lay there and think. 'wow.... should have done
this quite some time ago'.

SMART meeting was very good happy to say and will be doing more. I stayed after and consoled a poor fellow that was so anxious
he was sweating. Hope he comes back.

Been going through and checking out all the local gyms in the area, of
which there are a mighty many. Got one picked out and will head there to sign up tomorrow morning after 10:30am Refuge Recovery meeting at
a new location. It's a Buddhist temple and looking forward to that. A gym with showers is a defo must-have for me.

Kell's interview at her old job didn't go to great yesterday,sure they'll hire her back but at a different location that stays open til 9 pm,it'd be too hard with the kids,plus she's starting her classes on Monday and isn't sure how much time that's gonna take up,meh we'll figure something out down the line,good thing is were both still working just at a shitshow shop haha!
