Well ~ thank you to the administrator for reopening the thread

So Mick, you're the one (accidently) closing the thread? Ha ha!
After all these years here I didn't even know you could close a thread, geez.
Still hot here, tomorrow's heat index will be 105 degrees, yuck

PQ, you can send snow if you want to, I'll take anything at this point. I really, really can't take this heat.
I remember listening to arguments between departments at the hospital & thinking how ridiculous they sounded - grownups acting like big overpaid babies.
I hope your evening is perfectly peaceful!

Hello to Pauly, Det, SK & anyone else who might stop in tonight.

I have to meet my grandsons at their bus stop tomorrow afternoon, bring them here for dinner & homework. I may end up driving them home & getting them put to bed at some point if it looks like their mother is going to be very late. Like making myself useful even though I don't get paid, ha ha! Just kidding!
    Have a nice night all.

Thank you for re-opening the thread even though I didn't go through the right channels to ask.

        MAE ALL...

Mick...we both know that you didn't intentionally close the thread. I wonder if it's a combination of keystrokes on your phone that does it. Next time it gets closed you'll have to try and re-open it. LOL I think I know what you're talking about with the sweet rock...love hearts.jpg 15000 before the company clicked. LOL I've actually avoided going out to the garden as I'm not ready to deal with it. From blistering heat to frost warnings I think it's probably done. Resolved the war between childcare and the accountant only to have the accountant start another one with the program coord. I think she's walking a pretty fine line here and better watch it.

Lav...first thing I noticed when I got back was the childcare director's attitude towards the accountant. She ain't putting up with this sh*t anymore and you can tell. Her attitude is we're all in this together, let's help each other. So when the next emotional upheaval happened she simply treated her like she does her 7 year old's...stop talking and we can try again later. LOL Even though you're not getting paid (LOL) what a great feeling to know that is possible now. I do look up to you.

Shout out to everyone else who tried to post today. I hope everyone's evening is perfectly peaceful as well....:smile:PPQP

evening. Well, we're back online. Yahoo.

I got somethings done today, getting stuff to UPS to return, got my computer fixed. need a new cord now Then I went to Target and I was cranky. Got ane coffee maker. As you know some stores have a croswalk in front to the parking lot. My back was hurting, and sitting in the crosswalk was a guy in a muscle car not moving and in my dulcet voice I screamed "move a£$hole!" and he said "yes ma'm. That is highly unusual for me.

Went tp whole foods for a sandwhich I got an egg sal
ad with cranberries and and red onion thinly sliced with a whisper of horseradish in the mayo. Very, very good.

Then coming home, I elevate my arm on the armrest and I noticed my fingers were down except the middle one which is stuck up like soldier. I smiled.

Mick...I think the thread closure should remain in the mystery column, you know, where all our missing posts go. No apologies required, it's just one of those things. How did the deadheading go? Hope you succeeded in reviving some of the plants, pretty soon everything will be covered in snow.

SK...your elevated arm made me smile too. Great way to end what sounded like a very busy day.

I'm in for a busy day today. Man, the boss has no sense of timing so going in early to launch an online community survey. It's getting to the point where I hate surveys.

                  Re: w/c26th

                  Good evening Abbers,

My long day turned out to not be quite as long as I feared (which is a good thing). Still so darn hot & humid, all the windows are fogged up in the house & the car, ugh.
Got the boys after school, brought them here for dinner & some relax time. Then we took them home when suddenly the oldest remembered there was a meeting at 7:30 pm so he could sign up for the school band. YB took him to the meeting while I watched the other & fed two crazy dogs & three cats - yikes! DIL showed up an hour & a half earlier than expected which was good so we just went home. Glad I don't have to do that every day, ha ha! Too much noise over at their house, too much driving back & forth for me.

Mick, everything is suddenly dying back in our gardens too. We have a crop of honeydew melons coming in now that look pretty good. I completely forgot YB had planted them, ha ha!

SK, it's OK to be cranky & it sounds like you handled the crosswalk incident very well, LOL

PQ, busy at work is good, it makes the time go by quicker. I don't like crazy at work though, it makes your day more painful

Pauly, having adult kids in the house can be annoying. I can still hear my son's humongous feet creeping up the squeaky steps at all hours, ha ha!
That particular caterpillar has moved on somewhere, today I have a smaller one on my carrot tops
They have also chewed the hell out of my parsley in the herb garden - it's a yearly thing with them. I'm glad to be attracting lots of pollinators.

                  Have a nice night everyone!

                        Heya ABerooos!

Mick, thanks for keeping us rolling despite technical difficulties.

Lav, yer such a hard-working socialite! I'm getting into the swing of it myself cooking for family here and such.
really enjoying it happy to say.

PPQ, hows the corporate child-herding coming along? yes, 3 hours which I didn't think I'd get through but it was fun.

SK, improvement on the hand, is that right? I hope so.

my poor head is reeling from cram studying for my state insurance license but I'm chugging through it. Hopefully take (and pass)
                        the test next week.

yepper, living in the trailer a few weeks now and I'm A OK with it. I still biff myself on things occasionally when getting up during the
night though. It's like living in a space station... everything has to be useful and have a proper place. What a turnaround from my slobby
former self. My little splurges have included a radically upgraded speaker system and a disco light! hahahhaaa. seriously. it's hysterical.

Pauly, maybe earplugs for sleep? I've found them helpful on occasion.

Got down to Fremont street to shoot some street photography. Got some pics of street musicians (some are clearly homeless).
I put a few bucks in their jar and ask if pics are ok. so far 3 have said yes and even stopped to chat for a while. My former super-introverted
self would never have endeavored in such a manner. I like the gritty feel of the B&W's:

                        Shared album - Xring007 - Google Photos

ok then, off to check on the house-dwellers...

                        be well loves

                          Re: w/c26th

Afternoon, all. Wect to dr's office today. The senior came in with the saw:egad: he sawed it off and was furious at the state of my arm. The cast was on so tight my skin was pleated an nd all of my skin fell out from blisters, etc. He could see all the rawness, and said, he wished I had put this on you. So, I'm validated in my bitching. He put a black cast on which I can take off for showering and bathing. Oh. Joy.

                          :yay:

I then thought I'd pop into Trader Joe's. I was on the inside of a 2 lane left and she scraped the whole side if my car and bumper. I stay
very calm in these instances. She flung my car door open and started with it's your fault. I asked her to call the police. They came and she moved her car behind me. I didn't know this but he took pictures, mailed them to both ins. companies and they duke it out. Instead of the drivers and police.

I've always hated driving here. Traffic lights go on forever. Anditis very tense. Wondering if I should get rid of the car and use Uber.

                            MAE ALL...

Mick...WOW another dud of a phone. You are jinxed. Glad you discovered it early and can get it replaced. I really don't think it's you closing the thread. Like Pauly said it takes some work to actually do that. I hope you had an easy day, your post sounded a little down.

Lav...glad you got home earlier than expected last night. Just reading your description made me tired and glad that there is no grandkids in my life so far. Gotten to the point where I really enjoy my peace and quiet.

Pauly...another not much going on day sounds A-OK to me. Things were a bit hectic first day back but things have settled down nicely.

Det...your splurge of upgraded speaker system and disco light definitely fits into the everything has to be useful category. LOL Wish I could post a picture of what's in my mind right now. I love Fremont Street, that's my vision of Las Vegas. Good luck with the state insurance license, I'm just glad we don't have provincial insurance. Nice pic, B&W's have their own uniqueness.

SK...so glad you got that cast sorted out. So sorry you had to go through all that even if you did get validated. So now you've got something like this black.jpg Ouch about the car and so impressed that you stay calm in situations like that.

Last day of Summer Camps tomorrow so looking forward to the windup BBQ for lunch. Labour Day holiday on Monday so another long weekend for me. Hope we all have a peaceful evening...:smile:PPQP

                              Good evening all!

Still too hot but it was 2 degrees cooler today so I guess I shouldn't complain, ha ha!

Mick, maybe the third phone will be the charm? Geez!!!!
I'll think good thoughts for you & your newest mobile device

Det, that's a great pic of the street performer. He kinda looks like cowboy stopping for a rest after a long ride
Why are you getting a state insurance license? Going into sales or what?
Glad your new home won't allow you to collect too much STUFF, lol.

SK, I am so happy you finally had that cast removed. Take care of your skin now so you don't end up with extra unneeded scars & stuff.
Sorry to hear about the car accident, geez. You must have some dark cloud following you around or something. I'm going to talk to the universe about cutting you a break, OK?
Your new removable cast is the same one my granddaughter had last fall went she broke her hand at school.

PQ, too much peace & quiet actually gets boring when you're used to running at a hectic pace all the time. It's funny how the grandkids give you a second energy.
I am getting the boys all day tomorrow. For some unknown reason they have no school tomorrow, LOL

Pauly, I found 5 monarch butterfly caterpillars on my parsley plant this morning. They are chewing the hell out of it, ha ha!

Let's all have a nice night!

Oui Porquois, exactly like that. Ihad PTSD from the 2015 accident and it crept in. I've had enough injuries and don't want more. After I spoke to the police I was too scared to start the car and it took me a while . I didn't know east from west, etc.

Maybe I'll just wait a while to see. I don't do trips, etc. and without insurance, gas, yearly cost of license plates, it seems like it's cheaper. People here do 60 in a 45 mph zone. Highway speeds are 65=75. When I was driving thru Wyoming 85 was the limit, as it was a truck route.
The worst that could happen is if Idon't like it, I can buy another one.
