Det, you are in territory where you haven't been for a while, good for you it sounds as if it is going well. My sister had her 1st date in 13 years. She keeps an immaculate home, but found him too OCD, lol.

Lav, this has been an awful time for you. I'm very glad you're going for the testing and surprised overall for the increase in food allergies.

I wonder if Sam will be a victim of hurricane Florence? The hurricanes scare me and tornado season is on us.

I got Viv for 5 hrs Sunday! When she arrived she sat down and said "this is my comfort zone" She then got hold of Misty and held her tight, Misty was looking at me as if to say "help", but later fell asleep with Misty's paws hanging over her arm. I insisted she let her go a couple of times for a break. Hermoine still hasn't seen anyone else. She slept on my chest today for a while but was soon replaced by Misty. For 2 kittens they have separate litterboxes to which they donate a lot, 2 x a day cleaning may not be enough.

My doc was fairly happy with my allergy recovery so far but we both want to see what the allergist comes up with after testing
Saw the dentist today as well & he did exactly what I said for a change, ha ha!

SK, so glad to hear you had a nice visit with Viv!
Sounds like the kitties have you right where they want you - in service to them at all times, ha ha!

Pauly, you would have a hard time finding dinner at 4 pm in Italy, France or any European country, LOL
They sit down to eat dinner when Americans are falling into bed at night. By the time you get used to all the time changes for things over there it's time to go back home where you have to readjust again.

Tomorrow I will be up at 5 am & over to my grandson's house by 6:45 am to get them ready for school & loaded on the school bus. I'll meet them at the bus after school, bring them here for dinner & homework & hopefully their mother will be here by 8 pm to take them back home. Sounds like a long day, ha ha!

Lav...not sure what's going on. Got money on my mind but what else is new. The boys don't work a set amount of time and they're not contributing as much as I'd hoped. Maybe that's what's bothering me. Did you get your testing done? Don't forget to get the kids tomorrow, you're going to have an early start.

Det...glad your coffee date was good. How was the job interview? Other than being a bit down things are ok. They certainly could be a lot worse. LOL

Pauly...no news on the vandals. Couldn't see anything on the security cameras, it's not a great system. Couldn't really see anything after the sun went down. I think we should invest in some motion lights.

SK...thanks, I'm sure this'll pass soon. I got a kick out of reading about your sister and finding her date too OCD. LOL Sounds like the kittens are settling in just fine.

The high today was 43F/6C. It's just starting to rain and with temps dropping below freezing it'll turn to snow overnight. Just as I was starting to feel better. LOL Didn't have a great sleep last night so I'll definitely be hitting the sac early. Hoping for a restful night...:smile:PPQP

My day started at 5:15 this morning & just ended at 9 pm tonight, geez. So much for being retired, ha ha!
It was so foggy this morning driving to my son's house was slow & freaky!!! Then we got another inch of rain this afternoon - so wet around here. Managed to get everything & everyone taken care of today, now I am tired.

Pauly, I was wide awake waiting for my 5:15 am alarm - didn't sleep much either, ugh.

PQ, we're still dealing with super humidity here, lots of rain & awaiting the effects of the hurricane later in the week. We had an inch of rain this afternoon just for the hell of it
I hope you don't actually get snow, too soon.
I never asked (and you don't have to answer either) but how old are your boys? Are they out working or still in school? If they're working & depending on you for housing & food, etc I could see the situation being stressful, geez. We all need a break from that, sooner or later. I hope things improve for you, very soon.

Listening to the reports of this hurricane path I think possibly Sam will be getting some serious weather too. I imagine he is hunkering house & home & animals right now.
When you hear about 13 ft storm surges on the coast - that's a big deal!!!

Mae all..how are we today then. good I hope. Went to herculaneum yesterday it was great I sent pics to those on messenger aren't you some pics the other day Pauly. Then I climbed mt Vesuvius. And yes I ran round the top and back down early days but not back pain...today is a doss day by the pool etc. Hope you are all well

Hey all. Couldn't get on the site either, PPQ. M aybe present a new budget and your expectations. They have a lifetime to earn money, no fair letting you do all the worrying.

Mick, love tomatoes in Italy. I was once walking across the ponte Vechio and I saw the redness of the tomatoes from the bridge at an outdoor cafe. Of course, I had to have them and they were porn alright, fabulous. Had heartburn later, but it was worth it!

Lav, congrats on surviving your long day.

My new dishwasher is supposed to arrive today. I haven't had it functioning for a week and it's darned difficult to wash dishes with one hand.

Det, do you have any food porn, PLUS an update on the dating scene?

I hope Sam is okay.

I took advantage of my freedom today & went & got my hair cut, yay! All this extreme humidity makes me look like a frizzball & I'm not having any of that, haha!
Trying to mentally prepare myself for tomorrow's visit to the allergy doc. Not exactly looking forward to the testing but I need to know what is trying to kill me.

Pauly, now that the boys are older they are easier to deal with but it also involves moving them around a lot. They need to get to scout meetings & other activities but it's all good. I'll never regret going AF so I could have this opportunity & I'm sure you feel the same.

SK, one handed dishwashing sounds like an Olympic sport, haha! I hope your new dishwasher arrived as planned.
I think Sam is inland from the coast but there's supposed to be such a huge amount of rain from SC all the way up to PA & beyond. Our ground is already saturated from a super wet summer. We've already had over 4" of rain in my backyard in the first half of September. Everything is just gross & wet around here.

MAE ALL....painfully slow getting onto the site again. Seems the tide has turned and the blues have gone. Might have had something to do with a good nights sleep last night.

Lav...don't mind you asking at all. The "boys" are 35 and 33. They had both been working in the oil patch when I left my ex. After a year of stay with my sister I moved back to AB and in with them. Although I didn't have a job I did obtain government subsidy to help with food, rent and utilities. A year later I got the job I have now and they both lost theirs. For the last 5 years they have not worked and not contributed to expenses. When they got this job they have now it was a huge relief but it turns out it's not steady and I'm not seeing as much help as I'd expected. We didn't get any snow last night but it has just started now. It won't be much and won't hang around but we're about 15 degrees below normal. Good luck with the allergy doc tomorrow.

Mick...hope you had a great doss day at the pool, you deserve the rest. I'll try and put a couple of your pics up for you.

Pauly...wish your definition of "down" was the right one. LOL I'm feeling much better, thanks. I think it's great you're getting lots of time with the boys. They'll grow up so quick.

SK...yup we did work out a budget but as it turned out it's not a 9-5 Mon-Fri type of job. When the company gets bookings they get the work. I think with all the smoke we had from the BC fires bookings were slow. Perhaps not being able to catch up my debt as I'd planned is what got me down. This last week though they've seen more work so I hope it keeps up. Sitting here trying to picture one handed dish washing. LOL Hope your dishwasher arrived.
