    Re: 11.11.18

    Morning all -

Mick, sending you good, thoughts and lots of light for your brother... I'm sure your visit will help him.

Lav, the storm will start here this afternoon - two fronts converging, so anywhere from 4 to 10 inches, followed by sleet and ending in rain! Eeek! How are you doing with the allergies - finding good substitutes? You are always so kind to folks in need - I'm sure the family was so touched by your thoughtfulness.

Pauly, always good to see you, I hope work is OK.

PPQ, I have Reynauds as well - almost cried yesterday when I did the gutters again - gloved and covered in big rubber gloves, but all the leaves were icy from a previous storm, and it was dreadful. Had to soak my hands in warm water after, Uuugh. I support your quit onJanuary 5th!!!

Det, so great to hear you sounding like yourself again... glad to hear about the interview. I am going to check out that author, thanks.

SK, wow, how good that there is a Thanksgiving invitation! Hope it all, turns out well. So glad you are sharing pics with Viv -- gives her some perspective. The Roomba story is hysterical, I am picturing it...

Sam hope you are healing. Hello to all others.

After a morning client yesterday, I heard about the appproaching storm, and realized how much there was still to do outside, on the deck and on the screen porch. Like, everything. So did the gutters before blowing all leaves off - there seems to be 3x as many leaves this year, I was practically knee-deep. Moved everything out of the screen porch so I could put the deck furniture in. Now will need to find a place for all that stuff! I brought some plants in before they froze - maybe the geraniums will make it over the winter. Just sayin... if anyone offers you a large deck, just say no! I told the dog to just expect one lane shoveled out to the enclosed yard... none of this 4-lane shoveling for me anymore...

Sending all good wishes for a safe and AF day. "I draw good things into my life..."

MAE ALL...back from work and now just hurrying up and waiting for the inspection. Made me think of Mick.

Det...great news about the job interview, I have my fingers crossed for you as well. Glad your Mom is home again and hopefully things will change for the positive for her. You're sounding really good and it looks like you're back on the positive track. Well done!

Lav...we have a reprieve today, it's gorgeous out there. Supposed to start raining tonight, then snow overnight and temps dropping by 15 degrees. Going to be 19F with snow on Friday and then the whole system moves off. I could live with this for the rest of the winter. LOL Nice that you were able to get in and see your neighbour, like you said those days could be numbered. I go for the mittens as well, easier to rub some circulation into the fingers. Got to remember it's hard to teach those old dogs new tricks sometimes. LOL Has your storm hit yet?

SK...the fireplace has always been here, just wouldn't use it as there hasn't been a fire in it for almost 20 years. Figured one of these days I'd have it checked out and now I don't have to foot the bill. I love fires, it's like having someone keeping me company. Sounds like you had a lovely evening.

Tgirl...it's hard to describe Reynauds to people who don't have it. Sometimes the tips of my fingers actually turn blue! It does feel good when you get your hands in that warm water doesn't it. It seems like it never ends for you and you definitely didn't need this storm coming to add more chores. "I told the dog to just expect one lane shoveled out" :rotlf:

Pauly...waves back and I hope you have a great day.

Mick...still thinking of you and I hope everything is going ok.

Got everything ready for the inspection so now I think I'll go and clean the deck while I'm waiting. Tgirl is making me feel lazy. LOL Have a good one all....:smile:PPQP

          Hey all.

Mick, hope your brother has improved.

Cyn, etc. sorry you are all dealing with Reynaud's, must be difficult. Gutter covers?

PPQ, congrats to Alberta who has gotten rid of their rats.

Det, the superfood is called Moringa. Any news on interviews?

Temps back up to 60 deg. and sunny.

Hey Lav, I hope Zyrtec brings you some relief.

          Hi Pauly.

Never visiting a Wal-mart again. They were training an old man and he couldn't comprehend the cash register, so was in line far too long. I left all my stuff on the belt and left. Everybody was complaining and c.s arrived, but it waas too late for me!

Cleaning lady here today, so it was nice to come home to clean smelling house. Will haveto cut back b/c is $200mo.

Misty makes me laugh,I got some vitamins from Amazon and she's been trying to squeeze into that little box for 2 days. Sh i definitely interesting and funny. Hermi is loving and strokes my face with her paw, just not sociable.

I got storage items and humidifier today. It seems may in the nest are decluttering too. I la
ughed at Birdy not having worn things since the Carter administration! I found a much smaller b/suit based on "just in case"!

              Re: 11.11.18

              Greetings friends,

Yep, we got our storm & then some, geez. I measured 3.5" of snow on the deck early this afternoon. I snowed a few more hours before it turned to sleet & now rain. Very windy & cold too of course. I never left the house all day, no one bothered to do any plowing on our little road. I hear that road conditions are bad all over too.

Mick, I sure hope your brother rebounds with some good antibiotics. Good that you went to see him

Cyn, I sure hope you et the lesser amount of snow. It was below freezing all day until just about an hour ago & it will be 40 something by morning. At least the icing shouldn't be too bad, I hope. Having snow the middle of November here is very unusual! Take care of yourself & your doggie
The allergy stuff seems to be settling down, thank goodness. I think I may be going blind trying to read all the tiny lettering on labels to be sure I don't accidently come into contact with the offending chemicals, Ha ha!!

Hi Pauly, hope your day was good!

PQ, I have a fire in the fireplace keeping me company right now. YB is in the basement with the woodstove burning & watching something stupid on TV at a very loud volume, Lol Works out well that way
Now that your fireplace is inspected, get yourself a fire going - perfect!

SK, a shopping trip to Walmart is tough enough without extra aggravation, ha ha! I usually use the self check out there so I don't have to deal with anyone.
The allergy doc had me taking Zyrtec twice a day but I have cut it back to 1 daily at bedtime. That stuff helped clear the rashes but it made my eyes so dry I was having trouble seeing. I was always happier taking Benadryl when I needed a antihistamine but apparently Benadryl also causes photosensitivity (another problem I'm dealing with).
Enjoy that 60 degree weather of yours!

Hello to Sam, hope you get your power back asap!

Det, what's up with you today?

Feeling lazy today but I did make a couple of dairy free pizzas for dinner tonight - yum
              Have a nice night everyone!

              Lav

An old lady brings her dog to the vet as it seems to be having problems with its hearing.
The vet cleans the dog"s ears and advises her to use hair removal cream on the dog"s ears once a month as a means to reduce build-up and avoid the problem.
The old lady leaves the vet and heads straight to the pharmacist to buy hair removal cream.
The pharmacist says "If you"re using it on your legs, wear a dress for a couple of days to avoid any irritation. If you"re using it on your arm pits, wear a singlet for a couple of days to avoid any irritation. By the way, where are you using the cream?"
"On my schnauser," says the old lady. The pharmacist replies "In that case, I"d avoid riding a bike for the next week."

I was out by my garage this morning and noticed my neighbor Harold loading up his son and couple other little kids in the car.
I yelled over, "Where ya headed Harold?"

                    Morning all -

Mick, thanks for the jokes, I will be laughing at the hair- removal-cream for a long time! So glad that you got home safely from your long trip -- bless you for going to support your brother... I'll be sending big wishes for a recovery without him having to be transferred. Those big antibiotics are sometimes a mixed blessing... take heart.

Lav, poor you - I hope you get all the meds etc sorted out. I am just starting to deal with dry eyes, that is an annoyance. Here's an idea for the labels - what about taking a pic of the ingredient list with your phone, and then enlarging the image on your screen? That's the way I use mine -- as a magnifier! Yep, lots of snow here...

Det, yum that dinner sounded great. Hope your phone call was good, and sending good vibes for the job journey.

PPQ, hope you had a good fire! Yep, the dog only got one lane. 10 inches by 10 pm. I did also do the perimeter of the deck, and shoveled out two exits; I am always nervous about if we (dog and I) would have to get out of the house in case of fire. The house is set way back, so the shoveling pathways takes awhile, but worth it for peace of mind. I hope you enjoyed the fire!! We put in a propane fire insert... nice feeling, but no woodsy smell, ah well.

Sam, hope, you got your power back on quickly! I was surprised and thankful that we didn't lose power.

SK, love the kitty stories. Glad your decluttering is going well! Also glad you have help cleaning - a great investment. The pros tell me not to bother with gutter covers, as they rarely work, and then you have to roamed them off on top of clearing the gutters. But I've seen some snap-on kind... I may try them out... thx for the reminder!

Pauly - hey there, glad to see your avatar!

Well, I managed to get all Stuff into the screen porch and off the deck and put away inside before the snow started. But after the snow stopped, a huge wind kicked up, and so now my pretty snow is covered with brown red oak leaves! Waaa! And there are still leaves waiting to drop from those crazy trees... they really need to learn to let go...

Plenty of paperwork to catch up on this morning, then hoping to get off to NYC this afternoon for a weekend of clients and to see HB. We'll see if I train in or drive part way - I'm not driving into the city, that's for sure!!!

Wishing all well today - "I expect good things to come into my life". Cheers all!

Hi everyone. I've been gallivanting all day; Michael's decor, nails done in a nude color, groceries, Target and take out.Knee is throbbing, and wrist is burning, BUT got lots done. I won't be updating you on the aerial b/c cleaning lady threw it out by mistake.

Lav. is my wrist burning because of inflamation? I can't take inflamatories. I rested my hand on some marble when I was out and it felt so good.

I bought 2 storage units, another humidifer, cable knit pillows and groceries and I had no room for anything else. Cats are jumping in and out of the drawers. Remember when I told you house was clean and fresh?
Scratch that! I bought a lighter litter and Misty has learned to push it over -all over bathroom rugs and floor.

Sam, I hope you continue to heal and get the power back on. Do you have a generator?

I'm not divulging weather here. Y'all are getting awful storms.

MAE ALL...was sitting waiting for the fireplace inspection when my son came down about 12:30 and said what are you doing here. I said I'm waiting for the inspection and he said oh they did it yesterday. What?! He said yeah they knocked on the door and said I know we're a day early but is it ok to do the inspection anyways? I asked him why he didn't tell me and he said didn't think I needed to. In all fairness he didn't know I was taking yesterday afternoon off. Took just under a second to decide I'm not going back to work anyways. LOL

SK...yes the no rats is one thing we can brag about. The odd time one will show up in a hay or feed delivery but his stay is short lived. Never visiting a Walmart again, let's see how long that holds true. LOL I've actually said that before too.

Sam...hope your power wasn't off for too long. Got all that wood ready for the stoves? Hope you got rid of the ice and that your winter isn't too harsh.

Lav...our weather came in just the opposite, winds woke me up about 2am, then it rained, then the sleet, then the snow which continued all day. It was 14F this morning and stayed there. Tomorrow's supposed to be 32F and by Monday 50F. Apparently that's the way our winter is supposed to go and I can live with that. Been watching the weather reports for your area so please be safe. Glad to hear the allergy stuff is settling down. I like Tgirl's solution for reading those labels, I'll be using that trick myself. I'll be getting that fire going soon and with the 2 week break over Christmas it'll get a workout. I think you were due a lazy day and yet you still made homemade pizza!

Det...I really do need to venture into experimental cooking. I love peppers but have never had a stuffed one of any kind. The job front sound promising especially with the formal online application request. You'll have to tell us all about it. Hope your Dad is doing good.

Mick...I'm sure your brother appreciated the visit even if he wasn't feeling great. Those antibiotics can be really hard to take. Hope he improves enough to not have to go back in. Inspection passed mustard and just so you know White Gloves are not allowed in my house. LOL I'm sure people get Ray Nodz in hot climates but they probably appreciate it. LOL I had a great day and am looking forward to the weekend.

Tgirl...now I have to go back and read Mick's jokes to find the hair- removal-cream one. Haven't inaugurated the fireplace yet but it's coming. 10 inches by 10pm, wow, and I thought I had it rough up here. I hear you about the exits in case of fire and peace of mind is priceless. I think the management company wants gas or electric inserts but that's not for me. The woodsy smell is a must for me. I can always turn on the Fireplace Channel if I just want to look at flames. LOL Don't you just love the look of freshly fallen snow? It makes me feel like I'm in a fairy tale. Hope your trip into NYC went smooth and have a great weekend.

Pauly...a mouse in your toilet EGAD! I don't know what I would have done but probably something very similar to what you did. Don't feel bad about getting the job done, he knew his time was up when he got there in the first place. Now I'll be checking the toilet before sitting down every time. Any update on a new hire?

Ham steak with broccoli/cauliflower and hashbrown potatoes tonight so have to get started. Have an uneventful evening all....:smile:PPQP

                            Good evening everyone,

A nigh of rain washed away almost all of the snow so I'm not complaining, haha!! Even saw some sun today

Mick, I also vote for the hair removal cream joke, ha ha!!!
I hope your brother is improving on his own but if he needs to be re-admitted try not to worry too much. It happens more than you think especially with patients being sent home so quickly after surgeries these days. There's so many factors to be taken into account, pain level, hydration, co-morbidities (Diabetes, hypertension, etc) that can delay healing. I hope he improves very soon
Enjoy your weekend company Amy & b/f. Are yo going to load up on Thomas trains now? All of the trains & the play table have been put into storage here. The boys prefer the electronic games now.

Cyn, I'm glad you are getting out for the weekend & not spending all your time shoveling, ha ha! You had quite a bit more snow than we did!!!
I actually have tried that trick of enlarging the labels on my phone - anything to help, LOL
Glad yo are not driving into the city - I saw the news reports & pics of NYC traffic yesterday, oh boy.

                            Det, happy cooking, sounds good!
I hope your pics turned out as well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you on the job front

SK, you have been super busy, that's great. It's also means you are likely using your arm/wrist more than you think & probably causing some discomfort. I would go with the ice pack for 20 min at a time for relief.
Now be careful you don't go sliding around on kitty litter - that stuff can be slippery. That's why I prefer dogs, ha ha!!

Pauly, I have never found a mouse in the toilet but I used to find them & chipmunks & an occasional squirrel in my pool in the mornings. Apparently none of them know how to swim, yuck. I must have looked ridiculous dressed in my scrubs at 6:15 am scooping out drowned animals on my way out to work, duh. Glad I don't have a pool anymore.

PQ, I have a feeling we are all going to have weird winters. The weather folks around here said to expect a colder than average winter with more snow than average ~ swell. Glad you accidently had a little extra time off, ha ha! Enjoy the fireplace this winter.
Making homemade pizza is simple & I have to make it so I can use dairy free cheese. When you're ready I will send you a simple recipe

Sam, hope you are safe & warm tonight!

                            Have a decent night everyone!
