      Re: w/c 20

      Good evening folks,

I woke up to a brisk 8 degrees this morning, right now it's 15. The wind chills are unbelievable !!!! Looking forward to a toasty 30 degrees tomorrow. There's no snow left anywhere but there are patches of ice all over the roads. Grateful the power stayed on so the chickens had some heat overnight, their feet look good, lol.

Cyn, you definitely have some colder air up there, Brrrrrrrr.
I have to admit I didn't go out to look at the moon last night. I figured why freeze myself when other people will be posting awesome pics on FB today & boy did they ever!
My daughter had the day off today & was going to drive out for a visit until she found the pipes in her laundry room frozen. She was not a happy camper, haha. She just notified me that they got the situation straightened out & everything is OK. Typical winter woes when you live in the northeast part of the US. I hope we all experience some good vibes coming our way

Mick, Bonnie looked like she was mad at you, hahha! Glad she is home & doing better.
You could bring the 2 bunnies inside & keep them in a dog crate if needed. I can't fit 12 chickens in a crate without causing clucking hysteria

Sam, what's the word? Did the tractor start up for you?

Pauly, the kids will appreciate future birthdays much more than the first. As far as personalities go, they'll change as they grow older. It's a real crap shoot, LOl

Hello to PQ, PIe, SK & Det! Hope everyone is well.

      Have a nice night everyone!
      Lav

        MAE ALL...

Pauly...yup 1st birthday is more for the parents, celebrating they survived. LOL Then it's wrapping paper and boxes. No need to even put anything in them. Hope you had a good day.

Sam...didn't get the true "red" of the blood moon, probably fog/clouds/smog but boy was it big. Are you feeding many cows this winter? Hope the tractor started. I hated squirting ethanol into them!

TG...wow, you got the full load there. Feel a little guilty that it was 39F, sunny and no snow here. take the "little boat" and I leave "the mother ship" at home :harhar: Sounds like a winning solution. My son actually suggested I get a desktop instead of a laptop. I'll wait and see if the fan fixes the problem and then decide. I don't do a lot of traveling so even a tablet for mwo and facebook would work. Hope it warms up for you tomorrow.

Mick...so glad Bonnie is home, she's looking great! Now you're back to nursing care but you've got that down pat. How long is she on meds for? Hope the bills don't stress you out, all you have to do is look at her to know it's worth it. Hope you're having a peaceful sleep.

Lav...glad you didn't lose power, it's such a hassle, and that all the Stella's are ok.

The day just flew by and the most interesting part was my food, mood & energy class. Learning lots and quite surprised at some of it. Off to heat up left overs, have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

hia all ..how are we today then?all good firstly ,Bonnie seems to be getting better ...she is eating ...not as much as she used to but early days ,she isnt impressed taking meds..she has 3 syringes ...she tends to bite them and pull them out of your hand ..but at least she is here ..Had to go to Manchester this morning ,paid off my train bill and exchanged the handset that was faulty ..It was a pretty dodgy journey ...heavy snow here..ok lets have a brew ..

                Re: w/c 20

                God evening Abbers,

Still chilly but the temp is up to 26 degrees so it's much better than yesterday
Went out today to reload on food & other useful stuff. I found an interesting looking recipe last night for making hummus in your IP so I gave it a try, yum. There's no oil in this recipe, no tahini so it's essentially fat free with lots of fiber - good for you.

Mick, glad Bonnie continues to improve. I take care of my animals just like I would take care of my kids. They deserve the best!
Sad story in the Amish community this week. Yesterday a 9 year old boy died, leukemia. Today his grandma died while sewing his white burial suit. She was at least 10 years younger than me, hadn't been sick. Died of a broken heart I think
That was a nice story about the Sheffield bomber crash, thanks for posting that. Trump is tip toeing closer & closer to the end of his time in office. Can't wait until he is gone & we have fixed everything he's destroyed.

Sam, I do have an electric warming tray that the water can sits on - just keeps the water from freezing. I use that every winter. This week I also plugged in a tiny space heater to keep their feet from freezing since it was down in the single digits. They were able to go out & bask in the sunshine today, the cold didn't bother them at all. Taking care of 20 cows & their babies sounds like a LOT of work to me, geez!

Pauly, the allergens are all supposed to be dead this time of year but I'm not so sure. Something has been bugging me too lately

SK told me today she's waiting for a computer part.

Cyn, hope you are not overly frozen today. I just saw pictures of Niagara Falls frozen over, crazy!! I was just there 6 months ago & never imagined it frozen!!

Hello to Det, Pie, PQ & wishing everyone a nice night!

                  MAE ALL....

Mick...so happy to see Bonnie looking so good. I hope your trips to Manchester are done for awhile now. You need a break. I'm glad your insurance is covering most of the vet expenses. A friend of mine bought pet insurance with a hefty monthly premium. Every time she took her cat in for something it was sorry your insurance doesn't cover that. She cancelled the insurance and pays the premiums to a savings account. I'm not apologizing for our winter, we deserve a break after surviving the never ending -22F winter last year. I just hope February doesn't make up for these mild temps.

Pauly...hope your burning watery eyes didn't amount to anything. That's how my 6 week cold started.

Lav...the Canada Food Guide updated their recommendations today with a focus on plant based foods. The dairy and beef community is not very happy. Don't think they have to worry, nobody followed the old guide anyways. LOL My course instructor uses the mantra Eat food made from plants not made in a plant.

The boss has scheduled a "Team Huddle" meeting for tomorrow. Used to have them every week but this is a first in quite some time. Hope everyone doesn't explode on him.

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a peaceful evening all....:smile:PPQP

                      Hidy ho ABerdooodles!

Mick, lovely picks of your cute hoppers, even medicated Bonnie is looking well.

let's see... crap weather all over, frozen pipes even? as Pauly said it's very windy here but that's about it.
My trailer has been violently rocking me to sleep and then awake... all night. oh well. I'm in such a healthy
state of body/mind that it's not a worry.
So glad to have the motivation to be attending both Refuge and the gym minimum of 4x per week and feeling amazing.

Pics of the super moon? ack! I was in a RR meeting and was sure I'd miss it so didn't bring the camera... as it turned out
it was in mid eclipse just as i left the meeting and it was glorious. Something so very prescient about leaving a Buddhist meditation
and seeing something amazing with no camera in hand. Allusion to the impermanence of all things....

Eat less meat but not a peep about the real dietary monster in the room which is refined carbohydrates. sigh. epidemic rates of
diabetes/obesity and heart disease will continue to rise and they will just scratch their heads in wonderment. I'm a meat eater that
eats more vegetables than any vegetarian I've ever met... figure that one out for fun.

still cranking away on the job quest and trying to not get bummed by the inefficiency of the process. something must stick one would think.
Uncle is selling the house so I've got to be moved out next month. don't panic don't panic......

I've joined a meetup.com sober activities community called FITribe and attending my first meetup tomorrow morning which is a run in
a local park. Will see how goes. A tad chilly i think ok just checked and it will be just into 40F so should be fine with me.

Having learned that mucuna puriens is very helpful for dopamine production I've been using it for a few days now and by jove it's really
great stuff. yay. I'll take any biohacks i can get that are healthy.

i realize I've been really slacking in the photo department lately.... will get something soon.

Rumor has it that the 2nd season of Star Trek Discovery is released so I'm off to get all nerded-out.

                      be well loves!

LIVERPOOL ECHO (AP) - A seven-year-old boy was at the centre of a
Liverpool courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling
over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being
beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his
aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that
family unity be maintained to the degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him
more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When
the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy
cried out that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning
that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the
judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who
should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references
and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary
custody to Everton Football Club whom the boy firmly believes are
                        incapable of beating anyone.

Way back in the time of the samurai, there was a powerful emperor. This emperor needed a new head samurai. So he sent out a message to everybody he knew for them to send a message to who they knew, and so forth.

A year passes, and only three people show up: a Japanese samurai, a Chinese samurai, and a Jewish samurai. The emperor asks the Japanese samurai to come in and demonstrate why he should be head samurai.

The Japanese samurai opens up a matchbox, and out pops a little fly. WHOOOOOOSH. The fly drops dead on the ground in 2 pieces! The emperor says, "That is very impressive!"
Then the emperor asks the Chinese samurai to come in and demonstrate why he should be head samurai. The Chinese samurai opens up a matchbox and out pops a little fly. WHOOOOOSH. WHOOOOOOSH. The fly drops dead on the ground in 4 peices! The emperor says, "That is really impressive!"

Then the emperor asks the Jewish samurai to come in and demonstrate why he should be head samurai. The Jewish samurai thinks, "If it works for the other two...." So the Jewish samurai walks in, opens a matchbox, and out pops a little fly. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSHHH. A gust of wind filss the room, but the fly is still buzzing around.

The emperor says in disappointment, "Why is the fly not dead?"

And the Jewish samurai replies - "Look closer, that fly has been circumcised!"

Dave met Stacey in a nightclub. They enjoyed each other's company very much and at the end of the evening Stacey invited Dave to her place, where they quickly got involved in a very passionate and energetic session in bed together.

Finally, tired and satisfied, they both lay back in the bed and snuggled up close to each other. After a short while, Stacey began tenderly stroking Dave's manhood.

Surprised but appreciative, Dave comments, "Surely you can't be ready for more already"?

Stacey replies, "No, but every now and then I get a bit nostalgic, and miss the days when I had mine".

It's the Gold Medal round of the Olympics, and a Russian and an American wrestler were set to square off. Before the match, the American wrestler’s trainer came to him and said, “Now, don’t forget all the research we’ve done on this Russian. He’s never lost a match because of this ‘pretzel’ hold he has. Whatever you do, don’t let him get you in this hold! If he does, you’re finished!” The wrestler nodded in acknowledgement.

As the match started, the American and the Russian circled each other several times looking for an opening. All of a sudden, the Russian lunged forward, grabbing the American and wrapping him up in the dreaded pretzel hold. A sigh of disappointment arose from the crowd, and the trainer buried his face in his hands, for he knew all was lost. He couldn’t even watch the ending.

Suddenly, there was a scream, a cheer from the crowd, and the trainer raised
his eye just in time to watch the Russian flying up in the air. The Russian’s back hit the mat with a thud, and the American collapsed on top of him, making the pin and winning the match. The trainer was astounded, and ran to his wrestler, who was jumping around the mat, with people swarming him from all angles.

When he finally got the American wrestler alone, he asked, “How did you ever get out of that hold? No one has ever done it before!”
The wrestler answered, “Well, I was ready to give up when he got me in that hold, but at the last moment I opened my eyes and saw this pair of balls right in front of my face. I had nothing to lose, so with my last ounce of strength I stretched out my neck and bit those babies just as hard as I could.”
“So,” the trainer exclaimed, “that finished him off, did it?”

“No, but you’d be amazed how strong you get when you bite your own balls!”
af since the fourth of July 2012...howzat then America..now proudly marching into year 12

                            MAE ALL...

Det...the new food guide calls for quinoa, whole grain pasta & bread, and whole grain brown & wild rice for the carb section. The whole new design and approach is really appealing to me. I may start to eat healthier after all. LOL Will still be eating my Prime Rib though. When I can afford it. LOL Too bad you missed getting pictures of the super moon but you'll be ready for it in 2020, or is it 2021? Sounds like you really got a wind storm last night and I love the fact that you're in such a healthy state of body/mind. I take it your trailer is parked at your uncles place? You can deal with it, I'm sure Pauly's got room for you. LOL You really did bounce back quickly, I'm proud of you.

Mick...mother nature decided that it wasn't fair that you had the snow and I didn't so she made it snow all day!!! Going to be short lived as we're heading for plus temps tomorrow. The pics of the peskies are great and they both look so healthy. Time for "me" time and to play with those trains.

Pauly...I always cooked my nephews favorite food when I was looking after them just so I knew they'd eat. It's hashbrown caserole, ham steak and sweet peas for my dinner tonight.

Lav...I see your light is on so I'll pop back in a bit to see how your day was.

Off to get dinner ready, have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                              Good evening folks,

Not to brag or anything but the temp is heading up to 55 degrees tomorrow. Of course we're also getting flooding rain, haha!!!

Mick, your snow bunnies look great! They seem to be a lot braver than my chickens, LOL
I've been thinking about that Amish family all day & I am positively sure that I would not be able to sit & make a burial outfit for my grandchild. That apparently is their custom but I surely couldn't manage that either. About Julie's dad, it's not just sugar that creates diabetes, it's all carbs, even fruits & veggies & a lack of exercise too. Does he do his own shopping?

Det, so you have to look for a new place to park your trailer? Do you have any places in mind?
It would be nice if you could locate yourself close to your future employer
I'm glad you found some groups that are working for you!

Pauly, how would working in a high end salon be different? I don't have a clue.
My son stopped in with the grandsons after school today, the oldest needed some things for a school project. Those kids raided my kitchen like a pack of hungry wolves, geez.
My grandsons will eat bacon all day long if I let them, haha!!!

PQ, enjoy your milder than usual winter, don't let any of us make you feel guilty, LOL
I hope your meeting went well today.

Hello to SK, Cyn & Pie.

                              Have a nice night everyone!
