    21 June ...summer solstice

officially the first day of summer ..dry but blowy here...meanwhile ...in a place called Reading last night there was a terror attack ..some Libyan scumbag killed 3 people ,and seriously injured another 3 so we have got that crap starting again too ..they arrested him and now questioning him ...no doubt if they had shot and killed him every do gooder in the country would have been on their case .And after serious discussions with the covid virus ,the government have worked out that as from next week the distance apart can be reduced to a metre..oh and the quarantine laws that we didnt have but then we did but now we dont are being scrapped ..but apart from that life carries on as normal..

hope everyone is doing good..put some more plants in the garden this morning ..

Just as a surgeon was finishing up an operation the patient wakes up, sits up and demands to know what is going on.

"I'm about to close," the surgeon says.

The patient grabs his hand and says, "Oh, no you're not! I'll close my own incision."

The doctor hands him the needle and says, "Suture self."

This is classic - a story, proving how fascinating the mind of a six year old is. They think so logically.

A teacher was reading the story of the Three Little Pigs to her class. She came to the part of the story where the first pig was trying to gather the building materials for his home.

She read, "And so the pig went up to the man with the wheelbarrow full of straw and said: 'Pardon me sir, but may I have some of that straw to build my house?"

The teacher paused then asked the class: "And what do you think the man said?"

One little boy raised his hand and said very matter-of-factly "I think the man would have said: "Well, fck me! A talking pig!"

The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.

I am passing this on to you. It is definitely working for me. I think I have found inner peace. I read an article that said the way to achieve inner peace is to finish things I had started.

Today I finished two bags of potato chips, a chocolate pie, a bottle of wine and a small box of chocolate candy.

I feel better already. Pass this along to those who need Inner Peace.

An award should go to the United Airlines gate agent in Denver for being smart and funny, while making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably deserved to fly as cargo.

A crowded United Airlines flight was cancelled. A single agent was rebooking a long line of inconvenienced travellers.

Suddenly an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket on the counter and said "I HAVE to be on this flight and it has to be FIRST CLASS".

The agent replied, "I am sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've got to help these folks first, and I'm sure we'll be able to work something out."

The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that the passengers behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"

Without hesitating, the agent smiled and grabbed her public address microphone, "May I have your attention please," she began, her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. "We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him find his identity, please come to Gate 14."

With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the United agent, gritted his teeth and swore "F*** You!".

Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry, sir, but you'll have to get in line for that too."

Two bored casino dealers were waiting at a craps table.

A very attractive blonde woman arrived and bet twenty thousand dollars on a single roll of the dice. She said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude." With that she stripped from her neck down, rolled the dice and yelled, "Mama needs new clothes!"

Then she hollered..."YES! YES! I WON! I WON!" She jumped up and down and hugged each of the dealers. She then picked up all the money and clothes and quickly departed.

The dealers just stared at each other dumbfounded. Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?"

The other answered, "I don't know, I thought YOU were watching!"

Moral: Not all blondes are dumb, but all men are men.

Happy first day of summer, All. 94 degrees here at the moment with thunderstorms forecast for this afternoon. I’m just puttering around doing this n that, with some jigsaw puzzle in between. Went out to visit Dad yesterday and he seemed more alert than normal. Still can’t speak or anything, but some eye contact is good.

Thanks for starting our thread, Mick.

Pauly, your workplace generates some wild stories!

PQ- Our management company sucks, but to have them unexpectedly go out of business would be a bigger headache. Hope your board lines up a replacement soon.

Lav, thought of you earlier when I saw a FB post about Amish puppy mills. Wish we humans did a better job of protecting defenseless animals.

Also read this, “Christopher Columbus died in 1560. If he’s ruining your happiness in 2020, you need to seek therapy.”

Anyone else tired of all the whining?

Happy first day of summer everyone & Happy Father’s day if you are celebrating

Hot & humid, 90 something out there, ugh. Guess I’m just getting too old to tolerate this weather. I’m much happier in the cold weather, haha!
YB found the groundhog back in the garden destroying the cauliflower plants so..........bye bye groundhog. I told he was pissed off yesterday, Lol

Mick, happy summer to you & know that you are not alone in being disgusted with the virus management.
New cases here in the US are still growing daily even though our president wants to do less testing. Can’t make this sh*t up!
Keep your garden safe from intruder before you end up out there with a hunting rifle too, haha!

Pie, Good to see you. Glad yo are taking care & glad to hear your Dad is somewhat stable.
PA really cracked down hard on the Amish puppy mills but I know it’s still a problem in other states. Glad there’s nothing like that going on around here.

Pauly, hope your day was good!

Hello to Det, Sam & Cyn.

Hope everyone has a nice night!

        MAE ALL...

Mick...thanks for kicking off the week for us. Happy Father's Day to you. Oh Lord...another terror attack. Things are crazy all over this world. We have 2 Canadians that were detained in China in 2018 because the US asked Canada to arrest an executive of the Chinese giant Huawei when she arrived in Vancouver. They were charged with espionage on June 14th and it could be years before they ever go to trial. One of the men is the brother of one of our instructors. It's a very sad development. Finally got the information I needed for the website so have been working on that most of the day.

Pi...good to see your post and Happy First Day of Summer to you too. 94! Way too hot for me. Just sitting here watching our thunderstorm. I love jigsaw puzzles! Still doing your Yoga classes? Glad you were able to see your Dad. Reminds me of visiting with my Dad, it was always a nice change when he was alert and I know what you mean about eye contact.

Lav...I'm with you, much happier in the cold weather, just not when it's -22F! I knda had a feeling the groundhog's days were numbered. LOL We're seeing more cases of Covid with the Phase 2 relaunch but most of the people in my neighbourhood are still following the guidelines. I'm actually thankful for the fire as it will still be another 2 months before we open our doors.

Pauly....saw your post at the end of last weeks thread. Yes they do look like little sunflowers and a lot of people eat them. Not me. Used to use them to draw on sidewalks. That's one stain that's hard to get out. I know you're not a fan but it's salmon and asparagus for dinner tonight.

I have a video meeting with the boss and prog coord tomorrow and they scheduled it for my bridge time. They're lucky we're not playing tomorrow. LOL Wishing us all a good night....:smile:PPQP

hiya Lav ..hows you then? all good I hope ..yes thevirus is learning new tricks day by day ...and so is the way figures and graphs are being presented to allow for opening up the economy again ..kind of like ..there were 329 deaths from covid yesterday but the good news is that only 5 of them had names ending in y ..so if yours does ,then change your name and youll be safethats the sort of logic we are getting ..kind of like trumps ...less testing ...less positives ..what pandemic....you take care.

heya ABerooos! look who's late for the party.

was zooming around like a madman so much I wore myself down and good properly sick for a bit but I've bounced back and working again, albiet
I managed to get my boss to ease up on my schedule (finally). 3 day shoots today and a twilight which means i won't get home til about 9:15pm. ack!
At least i haven't crashed my drone yet....knock on wood.

105F here again and I just don't dig this heat...just feel sick always and scratching my head as to how I got myself stuck in the desert. Looking at emigrating to
another country entirely when I can pull it off. Apparenly I just don't have a place left in my home country if I'm not either radically left or right and I'm certainly
neither. I hear italy has reopened to US travel so I'm getting my passport renewed as soon as the darn office opens back up.

in good news: our tomatoes are super yummy and we got quite an assortment of them with more ripening daily. The midnights are really cool looking.

PPQ, salmon and asparagus is right up my alley!

Mick, thanks for humor as always, we could use it. Shouts to Lav, Pauly, Sam, Pie, Tree? anyone else?

Refuge on Thur night was great and much needed. I finally paid for a proper meditation APP which is super handy when I'm not able to get
            to actual meetings.

well, time to pack up my gear

            be well loves

              Greetings Abbers,

I have enjoyed the company of my younger grandson all day although he has single-handedly removed most of the food in my house, haha! Just waiting for his mother to pick him up soon.
Hot, humid & just nasty here. I have so many outside plants that need watering but I had to keep running back inside to cool off. I am a heat wimp!!

Det, good to see you! Do you think you contracted coronavirus? Glad you’re better now. Working too much, especially in this wicked heat is not good for anyone.
I wonder how hard it’s going to be to set up residence in a new country moving forward. I guess we’ll have to wait & see the new restrictions & requirements. Take care of yourself in the meantime

Mick, I will absolutely go get my hair cut when the shops reopen but I am not ready to throw myself into crowded venues for meals, sports, religion or anything!
I think we are all going to have to depend on our God given common sense & protect ourselves because the government doesn’t seem interested.

PQ, I just read today that it went to 100F Saturday in Siberia where their normal summer temp is 68F & -90F in winter. Bet they were shocked out of their socks!!!!
I hope your work stuff worked out OK today!

              Pauly, how are you?

Hello to Pie, Sam & Cyn!

Take care everyone & have a decent night!

                MAE ALL...

Mick...Nice that you and Julie were able to get out for a walk without rain. Canada hasn't committed to allowing huawei's 5G yet. Kinda like my boss, can't make up their mind. Conference with boss and co-worker was 2hrs long but productive. Every time he gave a wishy-washy answer I made him commit. LOL Just want to know who's responsible for what so there's no confusion. Haven't seen the tin of beans jigsaw but here's a difficult one for you, 570 identical red pieces.

                heinz-jigsaw-puzzle-3.jpg

Det...good to see you. Sorry to hear you wore yourself down. Glad the boss has agreed to ease up on your schedule. Ask him how he'd feel if he had to do them all by himself. Hope your shoot goes good tonight.

Lav...what are grandson's for. LOL When will mother nature figure out that we're ok with "middle of the road" temps. I fear the extremes are here to stay though. I'm with you, will get a haircut but the rest of it can wait. Wow, I bet the Siberians had a hard time with that heat. Meeting went ok but then I had lots to do afterwards so that the prog-coord could meet her deadline of midnight tonight. I just hate having last minute sh*t thrown at me, it just rubs my "proactive" self the wrong way. I have actually now just finished, just in time for an impromptu bridge game in 10 minutes. :yay:

Shout out to Pi, Sam, Pauly and TG.

                Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                  MAE All,

Lav, glad to hear PA is dealing with puppy mill issue. I did not know that.

PQ, I paid for yoga this month, but haven’t made it to a class yet. Seems I’m up and into something most mornings. This is much better than that slump I fell into last year. Kind of like the weather though, some activity level in the middle is better than the extremes.

Det, what meditation app are you using?

My days without a haircut are adding up. You too, Mick?

Mae everybody, PQ I posted that ketchup puzzle on fb a few weeks ago, think it would be impossible! Work has been super slow and my owner is thinking of expanding and hiring more stylists, wtf is wrong with him? The world isn't exactly booming right now and it's gonna take time to get back to "normal" were still in the middle of a pandemic but he doesn't seem to realize that, Pie, good to see you, yes I'm tired of the whining too, like I said I think some of these protesters are losing sight of what they're protesting and the repacking of some of our favorite brands too bugs me, the guy on the cream of wheat box is wearing a chefs hat, obviously he's branded as a chef yet cuz he happens to be black it's offensive? I hadn't realized he was until I seen it on the news, don't eat cream of wheat much anymore, just all the whining is obnoxious to me, much love to all and wishes for a great BF Tuesday for us all!
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

And good afternoon all how are you today then? Hope all is well with you . the current temperature here is 29 degrees overcast and very very humid too was up in the loft this morning to in part of my trains but had to come down it was like an oven up there all that was missing was the stuffing I have just done some work in the garden but again too hot. Well today they announced the new lockdown rules in a nutshell you can do what you want if you can keep 2 metres away which is now been reduced by the way to 1 m + as much as possible what a crock still mention of face masks except on public transport you can stay over at someone's house now in fact 6 households can we talk together in the same house not possible unless you live in Buckingham Palace I've got a dental appointment next Monday what a performance that is I turn up outside and then phone them the nurse comes out takes my temperature if it is ok ok she then gives me a little bag containing mask gloves and a pair of over boots she then takes me straight into the dentists room when I get in the chair he does the business I'm then taken out of the dentist room made to wait in a corner and then called forward to the reception area my protective clothing is then removed pay for it all hand sanitizer and off I jolly well pop and because dentists are not government funded as such it costs me me another £35 for the protective clothing not bad eh hope everyone is doing ok I will try and put some jokes up later on I'm supposed to go up to see Amy tomorrow and measure up her garden in her words just in case I want to help haha I think this black lives matter is getting a bit crazy too perhaps it should have been called Black lives matter as well because the song people and it is happening over this country now it seems the messages black lives matter and no one else does which clearly is not the issue I'm sure Donald will sort it all out not take care all speak later

Pi...up and into something most mornings is something I'm striving for. LOL I figure if I force myself to go for a walk everyday at least it's something. Just read your post to Pauly about the Cougars. Are they serious!!! People obviously have too much time on their hands.

Pauly...it's got to be really tough for small business owners. Even though their allowed to open doesn't mean people are going to come. I don't think expanding and hiring more staff is the answer though. I think the protesters have gone overboard. Pretty soon there won't be a black face seen anywhere.

Mick...it seems like we have the same weather today, hot, humid and overcast. I think the new procedures at the dentist is going to continue for some time now. I'm ok with that. They've announced here that our Doctor's offices are now allowed to charge for the protective clothing that they have to wear. I haven't been to my doctor's yet so I'll have to wait and see if they implement it.

Been a busy morning for me as the boss wants to open the Racquet Club and of course he's left everything to the last minute. I have a bridge game booked this afternoon and that takes precedent! Have a good all....:smile:PPQP

                              Hey folks,

Can’t even sit outside tonight because it’s so hot & humid. You should see this hair of mine - it’s really BIG, haha!!!
Had to be out early this morning for fasting bloodwork. Anxious to see if my cholesterol is coming down since I’m back on the statin. Damn these doctors, I’m sticking with my Nurse practitioner, she listens & understands what I am saying

PQ, at this point in my life I could not sit for a 2 hr online meeting, nope! I give you much credit my friend
No kids here to feed today, I needed the rest, LOL
My high school mascot was a cougar, they better not think about changing it!!!

Pie, maybe we should have an ‘ugly hair contest’, LOL. I just feel so sloppy all the time.
Enjoy your yoga or not - it will wait, right?

Pauly, sounds like your shop owner is quite a dreamer. Hopefully he wakes up before making drastic changes to the shop.
                              How are the boys doing?

Mick, I didn’t realize you have to pay out of pocket for dental care. I know it's pricey & tacking on a surcharge just makes it worse/ Sorry about that.
So you think Amy has a to-do garden list for you? Haha, good luck!

Still hoping i can get outside for a few minutes before dark without sweating like a pig, haha!
