    Re: 21 June ...summer solstice

    good morning all
looks like we're in for a bit of a break with this weather, been way too warm for my liking. One person that works with me had to stop by 10 am, heat related. We were locating a boundary line that is called Beautiful Run, it was everything but, thick as could be. Part of me thinks of taking off work in the summer, 'twould that I could.

Anyone heard from TG? hope all is ok there.

hope everyone is having a good summer, it's crazy times and not sure what "normal" is anymore.

Mae everybody, Lav, the boys are good thanks for asking Lou's gonna be upset tho cuz they announced that school is gonna be only 2-3 days on and the rest at home, he's soooooo looking forward to going back to school, damn I've gotta see your hair! Hahaha, Pie, that was hilarious and yeah I wouldn't be surprised if it offended older ladies at this point! Sam, good to see you hope things are going ok in your neck of the woods, much love to all and wishes for a great BF day for us all!
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

        Ahoy hoy ABerooooodles!

yes, dreadfully hot and such so I have my special hat that you soak with water and a smilar scarf kind of thingy, they do help.

twilight went perfectly I'm happy to say...getting the hang of this by jove.

Pauly, the internet seems to be composed of half advertisements and half whining about everything under the sun. Good grief. I feel you.

we tried a new Italian deli on Sunday and that was great. oinkfest.

no twilight tonight so wondering what to do with the chicken I'm thawing out. maybe a chicken korma? hmmm...

Mick, more dental woes? hope you aren't in a bunch of pain.

I did brave a haircut recently and went fine and dandy. Lav, no idea if I've had the C19. hopefully I have and am now somewhat
immune to it but really I dunno.

big news here: they are reopening the water parks so girly is flipping out to go, so prolly this weekend will be the chlorine fun-fest. ick!

Sam, good to see you here in the new 'normal' ack

protesters in some areas are openly patrolling 'no police zones' with rifles now. I sure hope someone with brains and a very careful hand can guide this nation
to sanity but looking around I'm not seeing that and I fear some very dark times could be ahead. so sad. and a full 1/3 of the US was unable to come up with rent for
the month of June. yikes! we are really up the creek kids and there are so many really down and out peeps in our midst. Anyone with a roof over their heads will be
        pretty fortunate going forward.

Made a short video clip of me making a French sandwich 'pan bagnat' I'll prolly toss up on instagram. Came out yummy, though I couldn't talk the girls into a truly
authentic version with anchovies. oh well.

Pie, I'm using the headspace APP and it's pretty good. As long as you like Aussie accents that is . ha! the 10m sessions feel
too rushed but the 15 and 20 are just right.

olive oil tip of the week: Partana Sicicilian EVOO from Amazon. Get the big 101oz tin is less than 40.00 and is remarkably good.

borrowed a new camera lens from my boss last night to do some comparisons as I'm needing to upgrade. so today will be an interesting experiment as I have 3 shoots
for the day. And.... I better get ready for them.

        be well loves!

            MAE ALL...

Lav...I'd stick with the nurse practitioner too. In my mind they might as well be doctors. Did things cool down a little for you? We've had high temps with little humidity and are now headed into cool and wet. OK by me, I'm not camping. Thunderstorm warning just went into affect as I'm typing. I'm in need of a haircut too. It would be really big if I actually took the time to wash it. LOL

Sam...I have surveyed in heat before and it's not fun, especially by the sounds of the Beautiful Run boundary you're working on. Taking the summer off would be ideal if you could manage it.

Pauly...we're still waiting to hear what the plan is for school this fall. Lots of ideas being floated around but they're in the same boat as the rest of us. Still glad I'm not raising kids in this day and age. Hope work is going ok and the owner isn't stressing you out too much.

Det...a pic of your hat and scarf would be great. Glad it helps in that heat. Glad your twilight shoot went good, I didn't realize you were using a drone. I love those, lots of fun. News today was that they're thinking of opening our water parks July 1st. We shall have to see how that goes. Protesters patrolling with rifles...what has this world come too!

Mick...double brownie points for you doing your FIL's yard work in that heat. Bridge game was ace and I'm scheduled for another one this afternoon. "Netted a good one"....here's your coat. LOL Been waiting for content from the prog-coord to finish the racquet club website and just saw an email go by saying she was moving her son and girlfriend and will work on it over the weekend. That really pissed me off. So decided to post on the thread instead of firing off an email. Since I've been posting I've calmed down and decided F*K her. I have the time now to get it done but will soon be tied up with implementing the new membership database software. I've decided that I can set my own priorities and she'll just have to wait or do it herself. Glad to hear the oven is on, I on the other hand made a tuna sandwich for my lunch. LOL

Time to get ready for bridge. Have a good day all....:smile:PPQP

              Re: 21 June ...summer solstice

              Evening greetings everyone,

Much less humid today but still pretty hot in the sun. At least I’m sitting out now without creating a sweat fest, haha!
The most ambitious thing I did all day was make a pot of mushroom soup, dairy free of course

Sam, good to see you & yes, the heat Has been incredible for working outdoors!
I have been following TG’s blog on the Caring bridge site. She is in the process of putting things into storage once again & planning to travel to Tahoe for the music festival that she & her husband went to every year. She’s been through so much this year my heart hurts for her but she is one strong lady

Pauly, my bangs are now blocking my view but I refuse to cut them (done that before). I found if I use a very heavy conditioner like Pantene it helps prevent my hair from getting overly big, Lol
I keep push my hair behind my ears when it’s usually cut above. The back is now doing a 60’s style flip. Someone is going to have a hell of a time trying to fix this mess, haha.

Det, sounds like you have a lot going on! Better than being stuck & home & bored I guess.
So this week’s news about Covid & immunity is not great. They’re saying your immunity may only last a few months. I imagine the virus is also mutating like the flu does vaccines could be iffy propositions. I hope some braniac somewhere Figures it out for us. Have fun at the water park - HA HA!
YB has been walking around here with a rifle but he’s been picking off the groundhogs that are chewing up his veggie garden (3 so far) Lol

Mick, yep, back on generic Lipitor for my genetically screwed cholesterol problem. Here I am eating primarily vegan & my cholesterol shoots up when taken off the drug, duh.
‘A snitch doing time saves 9’ good one
That was nice of you to take care of your FIL’s outside work in this heat. It’s been pretty awful in a lot of places.

PQ, your program coordinator is a real pain in the a$$. Sounds like a former supervisor of mine haha!!
I am very happy with the care my NP has provided me. Doctors just piss me off too much & they don’t listen.
I hope your bridge game went well!!!

Hello to Pie & to Cyn.
              Wishing everyone a good night!

                  Greetings!

Mick, I wonder if your thunderstorms have arrived!
We had a sun shower a little while ago, strange. Now it’s clouding up looking like a thunderstorm here as well.
Nothing much new, my hair still looks like hell & I still don’t know when the shops are opening. I made some hot German potato salad for dinner & it was almost as good as my German granny’s. Haven’t thought about that for years. I just put a few pics on FB, my wildflower garden is keeping me happy this summer

Hello to Pauly. PQ, Det, Pie, Sam. Cyn, thinking of you every day

                  Have a nice night everyone!

                    MAE ALL...

Been a busy day for me. Unexpected call from the boss this morning so I hit him up for a decision on everything he hasn't dealt with yet. LOL Opened the fall registration for Childcare and then had to retrain the accountant on the new procedure we all agreed to. Geesh. Was surprised to see the content I was waiting for from the prog coord and when I asked her for the rest of it she had no idea what I was talking about. Figures. But....had an awesome bridge game so all's right in my world.

Lav...sun showers are strange aren't they. I like them. Hot German potato salad...I haven't had that in forever! Your wild flowers are doing great, sometimes you're not sure what will come up. Nothing new seems to be the theme these days, and that's good.

Mick...37 YIKES! So I've heard that eating/drinking something hot when it's hot out is supposed to cool you off. Any truth to that? LOL We certainly didn't mean to leave you out of the conversation with all that hair talk. LOL So...do you have a 1976 pic of yourself sitting around? That would be interesting to see. Had to look up what QS stood for. Man, you really do learn something new every day.

Shout out to Pauly, Sam, Det, Pi and TG.

Dinner is an experiment tonight. Roasted veggies and garlic/paprika chicken. Wish me luck. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                        Aloooha Friday ABeroooos!

whew, another 108F day to chug through here.

Lav, I haven't even thought about warm tater salad in ages...hmmmm. maybe with capers.

PPQ, dinner sounds grand...let us know.

The girls were so nice and made tacos last night as I was deluged with work and uploading of files. a nice break.

my boss got a call from his grandaughter yesterday who is 14. she was out with friends walking and they came across a dead body of someone that
apparently committed suicide by hanging from a public walkway. good freaking grief! and that's a nice neighborhood in St George UT. I think socieity has
officially lost the last of it's marbles. sigh.

got one shoot today from 10-12 and then a twilight from 6 to 8:45 tonight. such is the schedule of a freelancer.

Did managed a good session at Refuge Recovery last night which was lovely.

Mick, are your dental issues fixed up then? that's really no fun I'm sure.

thunderstorms? I really miss those...still need some really good lightning pics for the gallery.

Pauly, I hear 'wet n wild' is opening back up? it's super close to where we live so I imagine we'll
take a trip there this weekend and splash around.

                        onwards and upwards!

                        be well loves

PPQ, forgot to mention: in eastern medicine such as Ayervedic etc they recommend wam drinks on warm days to keep from shocking the body. I really don't think there is
an actual cooling effect. I think it's more to do with energy balance. er.. from what little I know of it anyway.

And good afternoon all hope everyone is well yesterday it was absolute chaos over here all the seaside tattoos and all the beaches were absolutely mobbed to the extent that the government are talking about closing the beaches permanently whilst this virus is on and on top of that yet another illegal street party last night when the police were injured but again in true British Style the government have said we are putting up with it any more of it and we will take our football back the Great British tradition please please stop it or we will get annoyed Julie is in work today, I think she will be going back pretty soon things aren't so good with her dad last night she came home very upset not going into detail but he certainly cannot look after himself and yet he thinks he can so we are going to get more help for him from both his health and hers anyway moving on I was up in the loft this morning again absolutely boiling the silver foil insulation is settle and bonus in the winter but in the summer all that is missing is the Sage and Thyme we are supposed to be getting more storms about 5 tonight hope so I went to bed at about 11 last night couldn't sleep and got up eventually went back to bed at 3 this morning

There's still fcking chaos in Liverpool this morning as all the fans who last remembered them winning the title took to the streets last night..

...and now can't remember which fcking nursing home they live at.

Liverpool supporters have been letting off fireworks since winning the Premier League last night.

Nice to see something works in the city.

The last time Liverpool won the league, most fans had to go to the phone box in the street to share their joy - assuming someone had given them the money for the call.

It’s nice to actually see people doing some work for a change. It sucks being the only one!
I’ve hidden the leftover potato salad in the fridge - it’s mine!! How did your veggie/chicken bake turn out? Sounds good!

Hey Pauly, hope your day was good. The hair stylist & I had quite a few giggles over the state of my hair but she fixed me right up, thankfully!

Det, you sound good & busy as well!
I happen to have many many pounds of red skinned potatoes sitting here at the moment. The Amish guys keep giving them to YB when he drives their produce to the auction. We will be having potatoes in many different forms & fashion for a while, haha.
Sad that a young person had to witness a suicide like that. It’s hard to get that image out of your mind. I was only a few years out of nursing school & found a patient hanging like that, right in the hospital room, awful.

Mick, there’s just no sleeping when it’s hot like that, yuck.
Dealing with aging parents is tough, boy do I know that. It gets to the point that you just have to stop letting them make decisions for themselves when you know they aren’t safe. I feel for you& Julie
I’m sitting. On the deck listening to the hum of big machines down the road. The farmers are cutting their hayfields & they prefer to work when it’s not so darn hot. Who can blame them?

Hello to Pie, Sam & Cyn. hope everyone is OK.

                              Have a nice night everyone!

Mae everybody, love the pic Mick I seen the footage of your beaches over there! See these are the people who are gonna ruin it for us all! It's not the reopening that's spreading the virus it's the going to the extreme with the reopening that's spreading it so fast! They had footage of the bars in other states before they shut down AGAIN and I tell you they were jam packed in there! I'm so angry at everyone for just being so careless, Lav, glad you got your haircut haha, Det, enjoy wet and wild just keeps safe, I know you will, Lb just left for the airport waaah! It's gonna feel lonely here til I get used to it again, much love to all and wishes for a great BF Saturday
