    Re: 6th December

    morning all,
heading to the mountains today to mark the property line where loggers cut over on the neighbor so he's suing.... can't wait. I'm sure there's lap laying everywhere. gonna be a long day. The directions to this place will probably result in getting lost at least a couple times.
just a quick wave to everyone. stay well friends!

      Re: 6th December

      Mae all,

Quick hello --- yesterday was a long work day, Multiple zoom calls. I find them very tiring. Doggy went to the vet again, but the news was ok, and I have a couple of different herbals to start using. So glad my vet is also a TCM practitioner, she can heal in many different ways.

Lav, thanks for the reminder about the masks... I always wear one, but forget to be careful about hands. Hope those cookies turned out! I've been trying to move to the Wahl's protocol eating plan, but have to get used to so many greens, yikes. I find that in this winter weather I just want warm comfort food, so I'm throwing tons of veggies and greens into the excellent chicken soup the IP made the others day (with a little help from me...)

Mick, so glad to hear you are better, but yikes, still shooting pains? Hope those go away soon. Greetings to the Peskies.

PPQ, glad you can work from home... especially while you heal. We got lots of snow spitting yesterday, but not much stuck on the ground. Looks like rain this weekend... I prefer snow!

Sam, I hope your day isn't as bad as you think, but it does sound really pretty gnarly. Wishing you no getting lost.

Pauly? Det? Would love to hear how you are doing... sending lots of light and support.

well, because of the work decisions I have made, things are not turning out to be a reflective, calm, wintertime. But I am trying to be okay with that... this new "part-time" job is taking the starch out of me... big learning curve and very public-facing, so I better put my big girl panties on and get the job done. Hopefully January will bring some reflective time.

I am still looking forward to the coming light... though for now I will try to pull in as much physical and spiritual light as I can... loving the holiday lights around...

      Wishing all well -

        Re: 6th December

Hello all and how are we today then? Hope all is well with everyone. Did a bit of work in the garden this morning, but had to stop my arm was really really sore it is absolutely crazy and yet it has eased off now. It is pretty frustrating, you want to do so much and yet there is no visible sign save a few spots that are healing of any injury and to be honest I'm not the world's best patient

Hello tree girl how are you today then? Zoom calls? I've still not worked out Skype yet. Glad the dog was ok. Yes still getting a shooting pains it is from the nerves I know it is just part of the fun. You will be fine I have every confidence in you I have seen your posts on Facebook I know what type of person you are... believe in yourself.

Hello Sam and how are you today then? What are the mountains you are heading for is it the Blue Ridge Mountains ? if so watch out for Laurel and Hardy !have a nice day despite it being a long one

Hiya ppqp glad you are feeling better as you say I doubt if we could make something up between the three of us as a whole body haha as you see when everyone is working from home together it is a different story when someone is doing it on their own it is like a Dodge to get out of work you take care and look after yourself

        Hiya lav
And how are you today ? hope all is well ...as far as the masks go, mine are reusable it's the head that's disposable. See you learn lots of things on here to store away in the that's really crap information box you take care

          Re: 6th December

          Good evening friends,

Chilly again today butheading up to near 60 the next 3 days. I honestly don’t know what to wear, haha!!!
Our governor announced as of Saturday there will be no indoor dinng because the case numbers continue to rise. These changes aretostay in effect until Jan 4. Sad time for the restuarant owners, no holiday business. I Honestly think it is a necessary thing, unfortunately.

Sam, hope your found your property lines OK. At least there’s no poison ivyto deal with this time of year, haha!

Cyn, yeah we have to remember the outside of our masks are considered contaminated & shouldn’t touch them. I remember all this from my nursing education & practice but trying to get othefrs to remember is a challenge. I just now ran across a new 3D mask pattern so I’m going to make a few,, maybe you can tets one for me
I love all green foods but tghey need to be cooked these days. I seem to have a low tolerance for raw foods any more. I toss just about anything in a pot of soup, yum
Hope your pup is feeling better!

Mick, I sure hope that nerve pain clears up soon, it must be tiring.
I’m going to see if I can get an order in for fresh made Polish kielbasa tomorrow. A butcher from Lancaster County come down to our local Amish village shops 3 days/week. He makes it almost as good as a real Polski, lol. I usually get him to make 5 lbs or so & share it with the kids, cook some for us too of course for Christmas. I doubt we will be doing much gathering this year, if any.

Hello to PQ, Det, Pualy & Pie. Hope everyone is OK.

Back to my workshop for a while tonight, I am also sewing some scrub caps for nurses with Christmas fabrics.
          Have a nice night everyone!

            Re: 6th December

            MAE ALL...

Lav...it's all coming back to me, all those patches on your back. I have learned my lesson with the disposable masks and scooped up a month's supply when I went into work yesterday. I am very cautious about the outside of the mask and have always used the ear loops to take off/put on. I cringe every time I see someone pinch the front of their mask to move it up above their nose. Same situation here with the restaurants but in effect till Jan 11. A 3D mask pattern...I'll be watching for a pic. Don't sew to long tonight.

Sam...hope you made it to the neighbours property line ok. If he's suing does that mean you will have to appear in court?

TG...I agree that Zoom calls are tiring. Glad doggy is doing better. I prefer snow over rain too. No more snow in the next week other than some spitting as you put it. Temps are dropping though so must remember to dress accordingly if I go out. Deep breaths, I know you can get through this new "part-time" job.

Mick...I can't believe you're still puttzing in the garden. Sorry you're still getting the shooting pain. I actually had a productive day workwise. Turns out the software I use for the membership database has a Corporate Membership module, the latest project I've been tasked with. Of course now I have to make it do what I want it to. LOL Loved the day 266 and no tomatoes yet pic.

I hope Det, Pi and Pauly check in soon even if it's a quick hi.

Time to shut the computer down and relax. Have a peaceful night all...:smile:PPQP

Mae everybody, Mick glad to hear the shingles seems to be clearing up, Lav, I love a big pot of soup with all kinds of things thrown in too, PQ, I'm guilty of squeezing the nose part to pull it up, I talk and the masks roams allover my face so I pinch the nose clip to try and keep it anchored, Cyn, you sound really good I'm a bit worried about Det, I lost his phone number but tried to message him on instagram, he hasn't posted here since before Thanksgiving, that's a long time even for him, I hope he's ok. Much love to all and wishes for a great BF Fryday!

                    Re: 6th December

                    Evening greetings,

We’ve been on the road most of the day. Went to my favorite sewing machine store in Delaware (tax free shopping), bought a new machine for my daughter as a Christmas/birthday gift. Then we went right to her house to deliver it & headed to the two cemeteries to visit parents & grandparents, all long gone but not forgotten. Got to see granddaughter during one of her online class breaks. We also got to the butcher & ordered up our Christmas kielbasa, yum.

PQ, glad you know the scoop for safe mask donning & doffing (learned that in nursing 101). I’ve given YB the lecture almost daily since all this started & he still doesn’t get it right, haha.
Glad you’re work from home gig is working for you

Pauly, if your mask is flopping on your face then you need to shorten the lear loops. Tie some knots to shorten them a bit for a better fit.
I did see Det’s instagram post this afternoon, glad he’s OK.

Mick, meat stick vs bread stick???? Hahha!!
I have been known to slip a little cash to my grandsons exactly like that, how did you know?
I have done zero sewing today since I was out all day. I’ll get back to it tomorrow.

Hello to Sam, Det & Cyn. Pie, we’re thinking of yuo.
                    Have a decent night everyone.

                      Mae all -

Pauly, so good to hear from you, and thx for the Det news. Hope all is well in Paulysville.

Mick, you really made me laugh with yesterday's talk of the mask being fine, it's the head that's disposable.. v funny, thanks! I really hope the pain goes away soon... you have really suffered with this thing.

PPQP, good luck with the new software... that's always fun, right? Enjoy the warmer weather...

Lav, my gosh you are always working on something! How very nice of you to make Xmas scrub hats for the nurses... they deserve anything that makes them a little less stressed. Yes, I would love to try out a new mask. I have a very small head, so I am always tying up the loops on the masks. I need to rotate my 3 cloth ones and just hand-wash each at night, then switch off everyday... so many things to think about!

Det - good luck with all your plans. Where in Utah are you headed?

                      Hello to Sam and Pie...

By the way everyone - if you are disposing of a paper mask (or any mask really), please be sure to cut the loops so that they are just strings, and dispose of the masks in the garbage... I just read a terrible article about what all this medical waste is doing to the animal population... the sea lions in California are suffering, and so many of the small mammals and birds all over the states are injesting or getting caught in the mask detritus thrown on the ground... please be vigilant! Thank you!

Wishing all a good weekend... Hanukkah has started, and though I don't have a menorah with me, I still love the thought of the candles and candelight increasing each evening... very special...

                      Take care, be safe ---

                        MAE ALL...

Mick...I hope you're able to get away for xmas, fingers crossed. It's dry and cold over here, supposed to last through the weekend. Warming up next week so will pop out then to pick up some coworker gifts.

Pauly...thanks for stopping in, been thinking of you. I must have the right size face for the medical masks as they usually stay in place while talking. Sounds like things are "same old" as you didn't mention any drama. Good for you, it may be boring but status quo is good. Thanks for the update on Det, I've been thinking of him too.

Lav...we were socked in with fog for most of the day so was glad not to have to go anywhere. You are such a good mom, your daughter will be ecstatic with the new machine. Working from home is going good, deal with the things I want to and ignore the things I don't want to deal with. LOL

TG...yup, gotta have that positive attitude when it comes to new things, right? Thanks for the heads up on disposing of masks. I never thought of that and will act accordingly. I have seen the horrendous mask waste on the news as well. With Hanukkah and the lights, I thought of you.

Shout out to Det, Pi, Sam...sending positive thoughts.

Not logging into my work computer this weekend, it's my time. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

                            Re: 6th December

                            Good evening all,

Had a really mild day here, kind of nice.
Apparently there is snow heading this way next week, haha! I have busied myself with all sorts of things today & will be doing some baking in a minute.

Cyn, I’m going to make a small adult/teen size mask for you with this new pattern. Let me know if it’s a better fit for you

PQ, we had that heavy fog this morning but it cleared out. I was concerned because Iknew my DIL, her dad & the boys were driving home from FL today but they got here just fine.
Keep that work laptop off & have a nice weekend

Mick, I did buy a less fancy version of my Bernina for my daughter - it’s called a Bernette. It’s perfect for what she wants to do & more compact than mine for her smaller workplace (her kitchen table haha). I figured when I depart she’s going to get my machine anyway, haha!
