MAE ALL....so the reason I didn't post yesterday was because I was in the emergency ward from 2pm to midnight! Went to the Doc's at 1:30pm and she was thinking the swelling in my foot was an infection but was concerned about a blood clot and asked if a co-worker could take a look. He agreed and she was arranging for an ultra sound until we kept talking. Admitted that my breathing had become more laboured which I assumed was my COPD at that some times when I cough or sneeze I get a sharp pain below my rib cage. I just stand up, move around a bit, and it goes away. She said this changes everything and we can't assume it's COPD or my arthritis so she called the emergency room with what is known as a RAPID. She explained my symptoms to the Emerg Doc and he agreed I should come in. The RAPID means I can skip the line at the emergency check in and that they are expecting me. Just because you can get in quick doesn't mean everything else will be quick. So after blood work, EKG, chest xray and a CT scan the diagnosis is an infection and I'm on anti biotics. Geesh! a one stop shop I guess better safe than sorry and I feel I've completed my annual check up as well. LOL Sorry, had to get that out it was a very frustrating day and to top it off it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to get out of the parking lot. The whole hospital site is under construction.
Mick...yup, the firebreaks were put in all through southern Alberta, unfortunately it's BC that's on fire at the moment. With record breaking 122F temps and no rain it's dangerous out there. Calgary has been breaking records left right and centre but this OMEGA system is supposed to break tonight with rain forecast for tomorrow morning. We'll all be out there "singing in the rain". Have fun on your travels.
Lav...boy I am in a pissy mood today. The only thing I've done is go and get my anti biotic prescription filled and everyone out there are idiots. Wonder if we'll remember this heat wave when it's -40F in a couple of months. I've had 4 does and I can already feel a huge difference! Swelling has gone done and the tightness is almost gone. LOL No history of psoriatic arthritis or any rheumatoid arthritis in my family, guess I'm the chosen one. I like Applebees, I wish we had them in Alberta. The only reason the program coordinator still has her head is she's off on holidays for a week, without her laptop! YAY The boss has also headed out of town for 5 days so I don't have to put up with either of them. It is strange that every time the boss is gone so is the program coordinator. Hope you didn't get clobbered yesterday, those were some pretty ominous clouds in that pic. I'm looking forward to the cool down even if it is only for a few days.
Hoping that no news is good news with the rest of the gang. Have a good evening all....:smile:PPQP
